Hope it's ok that I ask this here.

I have all settings/sliders at max within the game, and mipmapping set to best quality in the ATI Control Center. Still I'm not too happy with how it looks in game. Even after a short distance the textures disappear and the landscape looks very 'empty' and boring.

Note how the textures disappear after a while: Picture 1

I'd like the textures to look like they do on the left on this picture also on the right side: Picture 2

Anyone have any tips for adjusting this in the ini file or something?

Yeah you mean the LOD terrain?

There are several mods to fix this, in varying sizes,

Try this link: http://rapidshare.de/files/17092655/4096lodtextures.zip.html for the largest, best looking textures i've found, however this can cause larger loading time and slightly more laggy ingame, there is a half way one but I cant find it at the moment as i'm at school with a firewall sad.gif

Also try the normal map texture: http://www.elderscrolls.com/forums/index.p...howtopic=330112 this gets rid of the blocky LOD terrain effect and gives the background a much smoother look smile.gif

You can also change the amount of cells that your game loads (if your comp can handle it) by going into your .ini file and changing "ugridstoload=5" to either ugridstoload=7 or anything upwards from that making sure its uneven.

This squares the number of cells loaded I think though, so if there is 5 in the .ini there will be 25 cells loaded all around you. I dont recommend setting this above 11 unless you have a massive pc biggrin.gif
