 Fortifying Magic Skills, What's the purpose? |

what is the purpose in fortifying your skills, especially magic skills? in my experience when magic skills are boosted by spells, enchantments, or even being a vampire, they don't seem to benefit you in any way other than being able to buy or create spells. Also you don't get any skill perks either in your other skills. what gives?

thanx dude, i guess i was just looking for skill perks, and to cast spells above my skill level. but let me ask you this. if you have a illusion skill of 20, and your vampire illusion bonus of +5 puts gives you a total of 25 in illusion, can you cast level 25 illusion spells? and do you get any skill perks when a bonus comes from either enchanted armor, or vampire bonuses? sorry if this is confusing, but im a little
