On the whole (and I know I'm generalising) people are ignorant about Geography and History. That's not just the US, mind you, but the US does have the most notable occasions. It took a lot of explaining to someone who was in the US military that I wasn't lying when I told him that there was such a thing as the Spanish-American war. -------------------- I hate the mice from Bagpuss.
