This is just like the Y2K thing.
Time is an illusion, m'kay? We rationalize time by putting our arbitrary calculations on it. We came up with the distinctive idea of seconds, minutes, hours, days, weeks, months, years.
Its human understanding that makes us live in the year 2006 A.D
Consider how long the planet has existed. Is it the year 2006? No.
And, anyway, even if we are to be so trapped in our illusion of our comprehension of time is "right" then the world would have ended on the 6th of June of the year 6.

Amen! I'll just have to put my "Time is an invention"- T-shirt to honor your speech.

No, really, you are totally right, the fact that we've created time but that it now holds a steady grip on our lives controling every action is scary. Sure, it's a useful tool, but that's what it is and that's how we should treat it, it's not like we are constrained and controled by a.. screwdriver..
