i played around with the noclipping thing in the console, and the problem most mentioned that i've seen is that when you get over cities, they wouldn't actually be there because the cities are in a seperate world that's loaded when you walk through doors

but you can still fly over it and it looks fine as long as you don't get too close.

another problem is moddeling. from what i understand it's impossible to model in oblivion, for now, right?

but there's gotta be a way around that soon enough...

so what if someone took a regular horse, and somehow modelled a set of wings onto it. whenever you road it, the wings would rest at it's side and it'd work just like a regular horse, however, if you got it a decent speed, and jumped, it'd spread it's wings and fly. i'm not sure about feasability, but if someone could do it, it'd make travel fast enough that you could remove the fast travel option from the menu, even if it's a cheap way of doing it, like tricking the game into thinking there's always an enemy present.

but that could bring back the feeling of travel, and generally make the game much more enjoyable if you ask me. but hey, that's my two cents.

so does anyone know if there's a way to model in obivion yet? or if there's one on the way?

true, but my main annoyance was a large portion of the quests require travelling long distances and this would allow fast travel that's actually travelling, and gliding would make most trips only work one way, maybe you could add a height limiter so that the horse can only fly high enough to avoid big rocks, get over rivers, and the like, but not high enough to easily get over cities. and even if you can get over cities, since it's a mod, anyone that installs it will probaly read the read me to see how it works, and you can just say, hey...don't fly into cities, land outside and walk in. or else you'll wander and empty town with buildings that don't quite connect to the ground. if they fly into a city and fall through a hole somewhere. well...that's just their fault.
