viewdistance Options

Is there any way to make the viewdistance In the construction set farther? I am having a hard time visualizing my land mass because all i can see is nearby land. The viewdistance is not nearly as close as the actual games. below is a screen of what I am seeing. Plz let me know if this is what the construction set for you looks like. If i were to have a better computer would it automatically have a farther veiwdistance? Thx.
