KOTN glitch, help?, something isnt right Options

I have a problem when you’re trying to get the crusaders shield. Your supposed to make all the statues look at you and stand on the little pressure button to make the door to appear to get to the next room, but no matter how many times I have tried the pressure button it doesn’t work. Am I doing something wrong or is it the game.
