Couldn't be as bad as my natural singing voice. I think I am tone deaf. Except that I can carry a passable tune when I pretend to sing in a little girl voice but not in my normal voice .. I know this is very weird, but I don't know why or how it works, I just know that it does. So about the only person I can sing around is Cain. Anyone else would think me slightly daft. blink.gif

And right now I am listening to the sink drip because Cain is having a nap before dinner and I sit here hungry listening to the sink. Think I'll go rustle up a pbj or something.

I'm listening to Audioslave's self-titled first album.

It's a shame they broke up.

Sure is...*tear*... It sure is.... I loved them.

But more on the brighter, I just purchased Beck's Guerro CD, and let me tell you, this man is awesome.

He transcends genres, even as he reinvents them!

Listening to Jambi by Tool, on the radio.

Is that even a word, "jambi?"

I heard "Hunger Striker" by Temple of the Dog earlier and went <3. Maybe the radio doesn't hate me after all. Now, if they could only play some more Alice in Chains and Aenima by Tool... haven't heard Aenima in such a long time.

Now if I could find the album Aenima by Tool for a reasonable price...

I was just listening to "Imagine" by A Perfect Circle. Yep, they did a cover. It's really dark and depressing.

And a song by Alice in Chains only made me happier and they ain't farting sunshine, rainbows, and Care Bears.

I was on a concert yesterday, my first one in quite a while. 'Twas a band from Berlin that has gained some small fame by means of a movie called "Halbe Treppe" for which they did the music. The band is called 17 Hippies and according to Wikipedia

Their style is a unique mix of east European melodies, and rhythms, with French chanson and American folk music. They sing mainly in German, English and French. In France their music is known as Berlin Style.

It was absolutely awesome. There were 13 musicians on the stage - normally 14, but one couldn't play due to an injury. The music was really great, and the guys were fantastic, including the audience and even finishing their act by taking their instruments (sans mics) into the audience.

They're on their way to the US+Canada now, so if they play anywhere near you, I most heartedly recommend you attend one of their concerts.

Mmmm I´m currently listening to a cd called "Buddha Bonsai" by Oliver Shanti. It´s just so relaxing and that´s what I need...being at home all by myself except for the Furball of course. We had a heavy thunderstorm an hour ago...I disconnected everything vital...anf the Furball came in after the storm stopped, all wet, agry and above all hungry! tongue.gif

Sunday Random 10 on Tuesday- with bonus comments!

This is Us- Mark Knopfler and Emmylou Harris
One for me and Mrs. Treydog

Rock Party- George Thorogood
Saw George and the Delaware Destroyers back in the '80's

Step Right Up- Tom Waits
Carny barker meets used car salesman meets late night infomercial all with Tom's unique weirdness

Maybellene- Chuck Berry
Needs no explanation

She's the One- Bruce Springsteen
Brilliant piano work, a real rave-up about loving that person who is very bad for you....

Dimples- John Lee Hooker
Mrs. Treydog and I actually saw John Lee live on our first real date.

The Devil's Been Busy- Traveling Wilburys
Bob Dylan, Jeff Lynn, Roy Orbison, George Harrison, and Tom Petty- find both CDs if you possibly can

London Calling- The Clash
Again, what can I say? One of those songs that defines a whole period of my life.

Domino- Van Morrison
Good old blue-eyed Irish R&B- "And if you never hear from him/That just means he didn't call"

Black-hearted Woman- Allman Brothers
If you need an explanation, just look through the Real Pictures thread for my "Missing Allman Brother" pic. Hard to grow up in the Southern U.S. in the '70's and not be a fan
