QUOTE(Zarrexaij @ Dec 2 2007, 07:07 PM) Everything leads to flaming in TESF. Even discussions over cats and dogs. That's the sad part.
And the people there just don't give a rat's butt.
I manage to somehow avoid flame wars over there. I avoid political threads (global warming, etc) and that seems to help. I did almost get into a flame war over that modtown 2007 project but my final post (I said "you all have fun with that") ended it. It may also be the strange things I say over there. I suspect that they don't know what to make of me: am I kidding or not? However, all the strange stuff I post is 100% true. This post has been edited by blockhead: Dec 3 2007, 02:59 PM

Sadly, some people don't have such luck.
I am beginning to actually hate that place and some of the people there. It's real, ulcer-inducing hate. Because there are more and more of lazy, careless, rude, insulting individuals.
I'll keep them company, though. No more Mr. Nice Puppy.

QUOTE(Channler @ Dec 3 2007, 12:02 PM) Well in my opinion thats always been the TES forums.. Maybe it was better around the release of morrowind I really can't remember though Not at all. Back when I joined, there were still intelligent discussions. QUOTE I am beginning to actually hate that place and some of the people there. It's real, ulcer-inducing hate. Because there are more and more of lazy, careless, rude, insulting individuals. Basically. And the people you thought were friends or were on good terms with? Crap, they don't give a rat's patooty! Well, I got four hours of sleep last night... today was kinda blur. Nothing really important happened. Not sure how I survived Calculus with four hours of sleep, but I managed to get ahead of everyone on the assignment about implicit differentials. I hope I get more sleep tonight. Gah. Thinking about leaving the academic team because it's come more about who gets the most points rather than, you know, whether they actually know it or not. Half of it is memorizing stuff, the other half is just buzzing in before anyone else. I think the teacher should take away two points for each time someone does that. It's extremely annoying, not to mention most of the time they get it wrong. And "coincidentally" the person with the most points has also gotten the most wrong. So, basically, it's a bunch of male cow fecal matter.

I must confess to being a recovering academic team buzzer speed-freak. Of course, I was right a hell of a lot more often than I was wrong. Done right, the obscenely fast ring in demoralizes the opposition. I always enjoyed getting stuff after the moderators had two or three words out of their mouths... so unnecessary, but when you can have an opponent utterly demoralized after just the opening question, so wonderful.
I do agree that academic teams often/usually become cesspools for male nerds' unvented testosterone.
Alright, enough braggadocio--making myself ill. Practical knowledge, Mike, practical knowledge. No more trivia. Why oh why did Jeopardy come up whilst I was channel-surfing? Being faster than all the people playing for money agitates me...
Alright, on to another topic. I'm applying for various national park jobs here in the West, mostly in Utah, Arizona, Nevada, California... also applied to Yellowstone, which I have a love-hate relationship with because while it is beautiful, especially when you can get out away from all the other visitors, the traffic is enough to cause an aneurysm. If you aren't an easygoing soul (thankfully, I usually am) I don't recommend visiting in the high season. Actually, I just don't recommend visiting in the high season.

Wow. Props for that... spoiler functionality thing, Starge. You're my hero. No, honestly, you are. I will probably die a hack and without a damn A+ certificate. In any case, how's my day? QUOTE Woke up with fever and extreme back & joint pains. Went to doctor who prescribed me Ibuprofen and some antibiotic that costs 12$. I also had to give vein blood to be tested, to see if I might have Hepatitis A [results will be done at 17:00]; meanwhile, since I don't have 12$ for a box of capsules I have to go back, ask for replacement drug and then wait again to get it. The whole [censored] trip lasts ~4 hours, most of it I spend on foot and return home wishing something very heavy falls on top of my head already.
In addition, I just want to say God Bless Ibuprofen. If I didn't drink one 400mg capsule this morning I would've collapsed ages ago. This post has been edited by milanius: Dec 4 2007, 03:16 PM

Thought I'd jump by and give a short update as well, as it's really now or never lol - time is a value I don't really have at the moment. Because of the current course I'm taking here, you have a huge pressure about picking things up immediately as we only have like one or two lessons per subject and because of all the pratical work we do, wiring stuff up, installing different systems in business buildings, troubleshooting different equipment like amplifiers, speakers etc. you really just wanna curl in and sleep on the train home lol. And to make things worse, our current government has turned the whole school system upside down - so at the moment we're suppose to learn only practical work that will come in handy once we're out in the field you could say, but everything else, like the basic understand of what we actually do, formulas etc. - things you'd need to know if you would like to become an engineer is left out... Along with that, they (being the government) also promised free books and laptops for some, for VG2 classes (which I'm in) this year, which was great news. But of course they screw this up too, so took about one whole semester to get them and we still haven't gotten the books for our main subjects lol. My english exam is conquered hehe, but still got several left from now til January. Due to the whole book issue we have to look through our notes and papers we've gotten, and for those who have like been sick for a week really have problems as they can't really lean onto any books and check them. Hopefully things will go a bit smoother when this semester is done. Whine completed Other than I'm all well and healthy, I've picked up on kickboxing and tkd now, five trainings a week, can't say it helps my schoolwork but gets my mind of things and is of course really awesome. Also work now and than, come to an agreement with this job as a kind of sidekick - so when I got the time, need a bit of money and stuff I'll work there. Before I reach the end of my reply, I also want to whine about the current wheather here - this friday we had great wheather with lots of snow. Me and some friends even made a small snowman (looked like a gnome) whilst totally drunk, even had a carrot nose which I have no idea how we got lol. Now it's just rain, with freezing tempratures during the night, making lots of ice and it's all slippery. All from teh Fuzz!

Yeah, and I'm great at taking credit for things Rane did, too!
