There has been a lot of abuse hurled between the North, the South and the West Coast today! My favorites: That wasn’t the South rising again so much as shifting further to the right, and in California 6.0 is how we stir our coffee. My Virginia family reports some loss of mortar, but that's in a 250 year old house. We're laughing so that we don't stress over the dang hurricane. ETA: This just in from a friend near DC: MIRACLE! Dog survives post quake apocalypse by making nest of comforter that fell off top shelf during tremor. Seriously though, I hope no one was hurt. The State of California is really the State of Emergency.
Riots, Earthquakes, constant fires, going broke with the eighth most powerful economy in the world, the Governator, legalizing Gay Marriage, then rescinding it, rush hour traffic that makes New Yorks laughable (25 mph average? Thats practically speeding here!) Gangbangers three streets away from the rich districts of Beverly Hills, dropping off patients at two in the morning in the middle of the Ghetto.....really, I feel prepared for the zombie apocalypse, and whatever else the world can throw at us.

I don't know about you, but this made me cry. Military funerals always do, especially when they play "Taps" (that was when I lost it at my Dad's funeral). But this one was especially poignant. Loyal to the endHopefully Sai won't have to do that, ever.

haute ecole rider: First day of school was today, and I think it went well. Lots of handouts that need to be signed and a lot of sitting around, but I can't really complain when it only lasted two hours Next week is an introductory week, then we'll all get to know each other some more, and we'll get to know where we can go to eat. There'll also be some tests in english, maths and swedish so the teachers get to see what we're good at, and I don't really see how those could be hard. My guess is that the pace will quicken rapidly after the introduction, but I think it'll work out. Our two mentors seemed nice as well. On another hand I'm competing for the first time this term on Sunday, and then dad's going to go and pick up the computer I'm buying. I only need speakers before I can start using it, because I've already bought all the other things. But that pretty much means that by the time Skyrim is released, I ought to have a computer able to handle it and won't have to borrow dads all the time. ^^

Grits: good call on the beer - but remember to put some ice packs in the freezer in case the power goes out , you wouldn't want warm beer now... Saquin: glad to hear school was ok. Handouts needing signed and sitting around *shudder* reminds me why I left as soon as I could. Long weekend for me, nothing planned but I like the idea of a monday not at work. Everything will probably be closed but there's always a book and a coffee in the garden.
