That is awesome. It reminds me of just a few days ago when my latest character Arduina got into a fight with the bandits who are encamped by the road south of the Guardian Stones. She had just met Talsgar the Wanderer a few minutes before, and paid him to sing a song for her. While she was getting into it with the bandits, he casts an oakflesh spell on himself, draws his iron sword, and charges in to help. When it was all over he says: "The life of adventure and song is the life for us, eh friend?" smile.gif

I'm still a SkyNewb, so a great deal of the game is 'new things' to me. I was quite tickled yesterday when a little girl in Riverhold asked Buffy to play tag. Even happier to then see the two of them chasing each other all over town. "You're it!" happy.gif

SR and Gritsy: Cool stories! .. And wow some new dialogue as well.

Acadian: Yes playing tag is fun. And very unexpected, too. smile.gif They also play Hide 'n' Seek with us if we let 'em.

And as usual, certain characters are more apt to play than others. One of Lord Haaf-Mersey's favorite things to do after returning to his home (Lakeview Manor) was start a game of hide 'n' seek outdoors with Lucia. And then simply go inside. Lucia would go hide somwhere, while LHM would walk into his home. After some time, Lucia would glumly come back inside and make some off-color comment! verysad.gif

You've gotta have two kids in your house. That way you get to come home and find them calling each other lore-appropriate names like "horker-face". ohmy.gif

SubRosa, what a fun interaction with Talsgar the Wanderer. Those moments when they say just the right thing! wub.gif

Acadian, how sweet. Solitude is a fun place to play as well. I have chuckled over the sight of heavily armored Jerric chasing a bunch of kids all over there, tailed by a Breton and a wood elf. laugh.gif

The kids crack me up. smile.gif

Marius gave me another new thing the other day. He’s on the trail of the Stones of Barenziah now that he’s recovered Mercer’s plans. (At least that’s how I explain looking things up on the UESP now. tongue.gif )

Anyway I’ve never had a thief who invaded the legendary mead hall of the Companions before. Marius sneaked right between Vilkas and Kodlak Whitemane without them noticing. But on the way out with his prize Torvar said, “You tryin’ to hide? Cause I can see you plain as day.” embarrased.gif

Also I’ve never, ever had anyone pass the Persuasion check with Faralda outside the College. Marius did. I guess there’s something to be said for the higher levels after all!

I guess I never try. The possibility of a cheap spell is always too inviting for a low-level character, and avoiding the College is difficult with the other quest-lines pointing you there.

Ha ha you try to explain your trips to UESP, too? laugh.gif I do this sometimes.

Arduina is an Illusionist/Archer. She tends to practice by casting a Calm spell on animals and people. There have a been a few guards who have objected by saying "Go cast your fancy magic someplace else." But until today no one has attacked her. She was on the road and came across the couple going to the wedding of Vittoria Vici. Arduina Calmed their Imperial guard, and he instantly drew his sword and attacked! So she tried Calming him again (it seemed like the way to get someone to stop attacking!), and of course it didn't do anything. I was thinking that I'd have to kill the lout and get a bounty, but thankfully after lowering her arms, the guard accepted her 'surrender'.

OH wow. Interesting. I have heard there's some sort of hidden system of Disposition in Skyrim, ppl like me just can't see it in the vanilla game. So I wonder if there's some disposition factor that makes a difference at moments like these when angered foes suddenly stop being angry for no apparent reason.

There is an aggression/disposition system in both Skyrim and Oblivion, I think Morrowind too. Spells like Calm and Fury just raise or lower the target's aggression. Remember back in Oblivion you had a character Renee Gade II or your paladin I think? who had such a high fame that bandits no longer attacked her? That is because in OB your Fame influenced people's disposition. That is all factions do too. If you are in the same faction as someone else, you get an automatic disposition boost. If you are in an enemy faction, you get a big minus, enough to make them hostile automatically.

When I did my Animal Friend mods, I did it by creating a new faction that I placed the character in, and then made all the animals allies with. That way the PC gets a huge disposition boost with those critters.

Arduina found another new thing for me today. While clearing out Druadach Redoubt to retrieve Lisbet's shipment, she found a Reachmen Map. It showed Forsworn camps throughout the Reach. I am not sure if it is all of them or not. When she clicked on it, it added the camps to her map.

If anyone has not noticed yet, but you can do the same with the maps of Skyrim you can find in most of the Jarl's Halls. The flags show where the forts are, and if you click on each, it adds it to your map.

That's neat! I knew about the maps in some of the Jarl Longhouses updating your map if you clicked on the places. I didn't know about the Forsworn camps though.

Whoa, that's almost like an Easter Egg, SubRosa, about the Forsworn maps. Good find. Post a pic, if you can, we'd like to see it.

And I knew about the maps of the Jarl's holds, but had no idea we could click on them. I wonder if that's a PC-only thing, though. I'll have to try on Xbox.

Here is a pic of that Reachmen Map in Druadach Redoubt. It is easier to see on the wiki though. It adds more locations than you actually see stars for on the picture. But it doesn't add Fort Sunguard. I guess because it turns into an Imperial/Stormcloak fort if you do the civil war.

New M'aiq quote (for me, anyways):

Much snow in Skyrim, enough snow! .. M'aiq does not want any more snow.

Aww, thanks, mirocu.

The mudcrabs in Skyrim are a little bigger than Buffy. Yesterday, however, she found a dead one that was probably ten times her size! ohmy.gif
