Sure, she looks like a bank robber or something, with the bandana + glasses.

I also realized the way she pwned that deathclaw was pretty much an old exploit of Bethesda AI; get on a higher plateau and the enemies get "stuck in place" down below, which is their usual drrrr method since Morrowind. --- Trying to get at us but unable to jump onto the higher level or whatever-- or so it seems. Turns out, deathclaws CAN jump! panic.gif Forgot about that. And Jenn did get swatted a couple times, but the monster mostly was trying to get into the building, run up the stairs like she did, etc.

Alright, that's all. Going to try squeezing in a Fallout 4 session before heading to my sister's place tonight for santa.gif

Alright what's the deal with Fusion Cells and power armor? Maybe my game is glitched but the armor's power just ran out. The only option was to exit the suit so did this. But how do I add a new fusion cell to it? Some website says to center our reticle on the suit's rear wheel and activate but this doesn't add power, only allows us to enter the suit.

Tried to transfer but I don't see anything on my inventory (left side of screen) at all so there's no option to transfer anything (on Xbox) <---- heh, maybe that's the problem.

Maybe the cells Preston Garvey gives us are bogus/have zero charge? HELP!!!!!!!!!

Merry Xmas, y'all. santa.gif

What you're actually looking for is Fusion CORES, not fusion cells. Fusion cores are what power, well, power armor. Fusion cells are for laser weaponry. Those work a lot differently than Fallout 3 in that regard. IIRC, your character should automatically place a fusion core in the power armor if there isn't one already, though maybe I'm mixing that up with Fallout 76. I think you can also click to transfer items and put a fusion core in that way.

In any case, it sounds like you don't have any more fusion cores. But don't worry about that starting power armor, because there are plenty more suits you'll come across later that are better. And by then, you'll have a lot more fusion cores.

(Also, note that if you use a gatling laser, that uses fusion cores as their ammo.)

Fusion cores will seem rare starting out, but trust me, you'll have more than you'll know what to do with not too far into the game. The best place to find those is in fusion generators, which you'll start to recognize by the whirring sound they give off, and they are most colored in a faded blue and yellow. Look for those especially in manufacturing-type plants and places that have basements like some stores. But you can occasionally find them in chests/steamer trunks/safes and even more rarely in things like toolboxes.

Did Blood Raven paint her armor with blood?

Okay, who brought that deathclaw down if Blood Raven and Jenn X were in the town at the same time?

Jenn X looks like a proper bank robber. She wears the same outfit as my character Vinnie wore for the most part of his game.

As Rader said, you need Fusion Cores to power the suit. They just need to be in your inventory.

Ah I see, there's a difference between Fusion Cores and Cells. man, I'm so dumb!

I like to think there were TWO monsters running amok, so they each got one. Blammo!

Vinnie's such a badass! I eventually want to roll a more Evil character too. Which is what Nuka World's about, right?

That doesn't make you dumb, you're just new to Fallout 4. The Cores/Cells mechanic is much different than Fallout 3, where Power Armor acted like regular armor in how you put it on and the ammo for laser weaponry was called microfusion cells.

And yes, Nuka-World is evil character-centric. You CAN play it as a good character, but the story is vastly shorter if you go that route (unless you want to string along the raider factions for a while and THEN waste them all). Would've been nice if they had a full-on good character route you could do. But in any case, it's always open season on raiders for me.

I found the whole Fusion Core/Fusion Cell thing to be confusing too when I was new to Fallout 4. Why did they change the name of the ammunition from Microfusion Cells? Was Fusion Cells just shorter? Did they think the acronym of MFC was somehow rude?

For that matter, a Fusion Core is basically just a Fusion Battery from Fallout 3. Why not just keep using that name too?

I have played Nuka World many times. I have never gone the raider route. Gross! It still provides a new smaller worldspace to explore, with lots of enemies to smite and treasure to be had. There are some unique dungeons, like the space mountain one, or the Wild West themed land, so a lot of it feels fresh.

I don't remember what I thought when I first played Fallout 4, since I played 3 before that (but I was late to both of those parties). It is kind of odd to make a big change like that, but I'm guessing the reason is that "fusion cells" is just simpler than "microfusion cells."

It's been some time since I have played Fallout 3 but I don't remember plasma rifles also using microfusion cells, but I checked online and that's apparently what they use, too. I also apparently forgot that the different ammo is split between the pistols and rifles regardless of being energy or plasma? I thought the ammo was different between laser and plasma weapons, but apparently energy cells were used for laser/plasma pistols and microfusion cells for laser/plasma rifles.

https://fallout.wiki/wiki/Fallout_3_Ammunition

That must have been a carry-over from how they did it in Fallout 1 and 2, where they had that same dichotomy (except energy cells were called "small energy cells" in the older games). In any case, when you get used to it, I think Fallout 4/76's system makes more sense than 1/2/3's. And I personally prefer "core" to "battery."

Anyway, absolutely agreed on Nuka-World. I can't bring myself to be a raider or other kind of evil character, but the Nuka-World map is awesome and fun to explore! Just wish there was more unique content if you play a good/neutral character.

Lopov: No blood. Paint lasts longer. Blood Raven is a practical vampire.

Blood Raven is so cool that she wears shades

Ready for everyday adventuring

She prefers the high places

But she is trailer trash

Ope, SubRosa. MFC what does that stand for? Oh no, she di'nt! nono.gif

Mirror shades = I'm guessing toys like this are part of why we need a beast of a rig to run this game! cool.gif

Whoa look at that sword!!! <======]= Wicked shahhp!

Yes I'm noticing plenty of high places in this game, Jenn is trying to get as high as she can at Corvega Factory. I like the fact that the Commonwealth features lots of industrial sites.

Nice, look All those gnomes! Did you arrange them like that or does the trailer come pre-decorated?

.....all that's missing is a tire swing and half-rusted jalopy in the foreground.

Time for some action flick pics

My inner pyro gets her fun in this game

Corvega plant Explosion!

I love that she throws left-handed, and keeps her gun equipped in her right so we aren't constantly disarming & rearming.

Jenn X hates Codsworth -- I swear, she's gonna shoot the bot if it ever 1. Blocks her view,

2. speaks at any time when she's trying to sneak on some enemies....

3. bumps her from behind just as she's standing from some precarious height! or....

4. makes one of its "Captain Obvious" quips when Jenn's is trying to study the silence, listening for an ambush, ever again.

Jenn misses her Pintlass.

Sick shades!

Where is that trailer? That's a mod, right? I don't remember ever seeing one like that in the vanilla game. But it looks cozy.

Yes, the verticality in this game is a lot of fun. Downtown Boston has quite a few places you can do that with.

I've been in the Corvega plant too many times to count. Always a new raider gang that sets up shop, only to get obliterated by me.

Oh, come on. Companions standing in your way is par for the course in Bethesda games! It's a rite of passage. Fortunately, when they talk loudly as you sneak around, it doesn't alert enemies. Also kind of funny that when you're crouched, you whisper to them when you talk, but they still talk at normal volume.

The shady vampire is watching over Beantown from above – unless she’s resting in her trailer.

Jenn is having a flaming good time. And checking out out some new wheels?

--That is something I noticed; enemies respawn indoors in 4 as well as outdoors. Fallout 3, only outdoor raiders respawn, only in Bethesda Ruins do they respawn indoors, without mods.

2). Only useful thing about Codsworth, Jenn thinks, is we can command it to move ahead of us. So he might attract enemies before Jenn gets ambushed. I'm guessing the bot is also immune from bloodbug bites, being made of metal.

Nice shades, Blood Raven.

Some might find her an uptown girl, because she likes high places but in fact she's completely down to earth.

--

Looks like that Jenn X found a pyromaniac deep inside her.

She looks good in that military outfit and a bandana.

Blood Raven's trailer is Outfield Retreat, by Elianora. It is a nice little player home located within Diamond City.

I guess that means that Blood Raven has a new theme song to add to the list... smile.gif

Her glasses are the vanilla sunglasses. I don't think I have any mods that change the graphics on them.
