Ryan walked intothe Eight-Plates Inn.

Damn, its been a long time since I've been in here...he thought as he came into the bar. He had passed a man coming out of it. Who is he? No Matter, i feel aneed for a drink. After all its been about five years since ive beenin a Pub,andim not very good at Brewing.

"Exuse me" he said to the Bartender. "Can i have a Crydillic Brandy. If i remember correctly they are 90 septims."

"Only 90? No they cost 500." stated the bartender.

"500?!? Crydillic brandy isn't that expensive!" Shouted Ryan.

"No,it'snot expensive, it's just septims arent worth Guar-dung. Now if you had some Hlaalens, that wouldbe a different story." said the Bartender Bumusedly.

"Fine, here are 500 septims. Isthere any way icanexchangemymoney for something worth more?" Ryan Asked.

he exchanged his miney for 1000 Hlaalens and took his Brandy to a seat near the back of the Inn.

QUOTE(Intestinal Chaos @ Aug 30 2005, 07:49 PM)
Dane pulled himself up from the wreckage of the tarp and boxes he had just been thrown into by the stranger now identified as possibly a battlemage.

"Magic is it?" He said holding his stomach with his other hand wincing

"A coward's craft. Let's see if you can wield that blade as well as you can draw it"
*

"Very well then." The man said, but he still used magic.

Teleporting behind Dane he shoved his sword at the man's back.

"That good enough?" he said with a smirk.

Despite his drunkness Dane's battlesense started coming to him, a little delayed by the strong drink. He rolled forward and whirled around and glared at his attacker

"Nothing but cheating out of you I see, It takes little skill to place a sword to a man's back and even less to cut a throat"

He said as he ran forward at the man slashing his blade for his neck.

The man caught Danes sword.

It cut right through, and half of the glove fell to the ground.

???

No blood came from the hand.

There was no hand, air filled the glove.

"You can't win this battle." He said as he dissapeared.

(OOC: Gotta eat now.)

I'm home

Val dragged his feet further into the ruined room. The ceiling had been brought down in the center of what had once been the Moonmoth Barracks. Torches had once hung on the walls, now scorched black in most places. No torches left very little light, but he was fine with that. It only meant he could hide in darkness should the situation call for it.

He reached the corner. The very corner his bunk had once rested. There was no furniture now, save for a smashed table that had somehow not been claimed by the flames. With a clawed finger, he traced out the position his bunk had been, then rested on the ground looking through the ruined ceiling into the clouds above.

It had been another pointless day. He spent the last month traveling the nearby lands in search of any units that might have survived. Now, he simply wanted to survive. All he could do was sneak around like a petty thief and lift what he needed from any commoners that let their guard down. Today, he was almost detected by the residents of Balmora. That was not a good thing for an Argonian in the Imperial Legion.

If you could still call it a Legion...

At least he had his plunder, a half empty bottle of Mazte.

"What's going on here!" yelled a booming voice

Suprised Dane turned around and looked at the source of the voice.
It was a Hlaalu guard, a well armed one at that.

"What seems to be going on here?" he asked Dane suspiciously

Dane looked at where the mage had been and then his sword. Had attempted to take a life in anger. He looked back at the guard and said "Nothing"

"Well it sure looks like something." the guard replied angrily "That'll be 20 Hlaalens for Vandilism and an additional 10 for disrturbing the peace."

Dane knew he didn't have that much and cursed the mage for dissapearing so suddenly.

Suddenly he rememerbed the gems.

"Is different payment acceptable?" Dane asked burning up inside for even considering using the mage's gems.

"I suppose as long as it isn't any gold from other Houses" The guard answered while scratching his chin.

Dane walked over to the bag of gems, pulled out a random stone, and thrust it in his hand.

The guard looked down into his hand with a look of suprise "Uh.. well thank you sir" the guard replied dumbfoundedly "Stay out of trouble and umm.. may the divines bless you" he added as he walked off

Dane's eye twitched as he held back assaulting the guard, but he was tired and didn't want anymore trouble. He walked over to his ruined sleeping place and lay down on the ground, his fatigue helped him fall asleep faster despite the rain.

he didn't even notice the room key that had been tossed at him.

Endris watched the event that unrolled and thought of something. Damnit! I spent mony on that room and there is a Morag Tong right here in town. He looked over at the man that remained from the battle and threw the key to the inn room at his feet.

---------

Endris walked in through the doors of the guild hall and greeted the people he walked past. They all knew and respected him, as they should, he is a master of the Morag Tong. He climbed up a set of stairs and climbed into a bed offered for guildmates and fell asleep.

OOC: goodnight.

Melkaan Uvirith arrived at the meeting at looked around.

"Good everyone is here" he said as he took his seat at a large wood table that seemed to be growing out of the ground.

"This had better be good" murmered Mistress Dratha to quietly to be heard

"For our first order of buisness... I want a full report on the Zainab extermination"
Melkaan said casually looking at Master Aryon

Aryon though once a staunch defender of ashlander rights at one time was anything but anymore after he suffered an almost life-threatining injury from an Ashlander warrior.

"We did wonderfully, there were few survivors and we even managed to catch a few prisoners" Aryon said with a grin.

"Ah, wonderful." Archmagister Melkaan smiled

"Oh yes... and we have a special prize as well" Aryon added in mock forgetfulness

"Oh?" inquired Melkaan curiously

"Bring in the prisoner!" yelled Aryon

The doors to the chamber swung open and out marched a two Telvaani soldiers and a Zainab Wisewoman

"Ahhh, I see. Wonderful, without their main healer things will be a bit sticky for any survivors" said Melkaan happily

"Melaafric deka-" the woman said attempting to cast a verbal spell but was cut off as her mouth closes together as if glued

"That's enough of that dear Zainab, I won't be having any Masters or Mistresses fried while I'm in the room" Melkaan laughed

"Take her away" Aryon ordered, and the woman was marched off

"So second order of buisness, Nerek" Melkaan yawned

The young newly appointed Master Nerek, successor of Neloth, opened his mouth and said "The conquest of Vvardenfell"

Val sat up. He didn't want the Mazte, nor did he want to sleep. He may have wanted to fade out of sight, but he had an obligation to the Legion. He would have to find a superior officer and continue his service. He was unsuccessful so far, but he couldn't just give up.

He rose to his feet, slowly and painfully. The last time he had eaten was... well he couldn't remember. If he was to continue, he would need supplies. On a lucky day he lifted roughly 100 Hlaalens from an unoccupied house. He would need to spend it. There was no way he could get what he needed by sneaking around all the time.

He needed to blend in... Its true there were likely very few people that knew he was in the Legion, as he had discarded the heavy armor some time ago. Unfortunatly, a free Argonian in this age would arouse suspicion.

He had to act the part of a slave purchasing supplies for his master. His tattered coat looked the part, and was even wide enough at the cuffs to hide his lack of a bracer. But he would need to leave his sword... and worse, his charm.

"Forgive me," he whispered as he lifted the thin silver chain from around his neck, the leaf shaped charm spinning as he did.

Time to go. If this doesn't work, well... I'm dead anyways.

The Silt Strider lumbered up to Balmora, and Lykaon stepped of it, tossing a ruby to the Silt Strider pilot as he did. Its all they took anyone, goods, like gems, ebony glass, stuff they could sell. Made Strider travel prohibitively epensive at times. Lykaon walked down the Silt Strider port's steps as a light rain began, and headed to the Eight Plates. He was amazed the owner had actually rebuilt it after it had been destroyed when Balmora was razed years ago. He headed into the Tavern, and got himself a room, but decided to sit at a table in the bar-room of the Tavern for awhile, before going to to his room to sleep.

Lykaon lifted his obscvured gaze towards the suspicious hooded man. Who seemed to have appeared from no where. Perhaps through good sneaking skills or a spell. "What do you want?" he asked in a low, deep voice that sound slightly metallic through the helmet.

Dane awoke that morning groggy and with a terrible hangover.

"What happened?" he groaned tiredly while shielding the light from his eyes

He somewhat remembered last nights events and the fight with the mage but nothing more.

He got up clumsly and looked and dusted himself off. He had a feeling it was just going to be another one of those days...

He noticed something lumpy in his pocket and reached inside.

He recognised the feel of the fabric of the bag of gems from the previous night.

I do need the cash...

He thought to himself trying to justify the use of the insulting mage's gems.

Stauros finished the paper work and opened his door to see that Delfran already left for the night. Stauros put on his assain's cloaths and became Vaska Hulja, a feared assasin. He quickly wrote a note on his door that said he was sleeping in, busy, and didn't want to be disurbed. he then quietly and steathfully made his way to the Morag Tong Guild and donated 400 Hlaalens to the guild bank box (thing tongue.gif) and said night to everyone and took a place in the corner and went to sleep.

always nice to sleep with my comrads Vaska thought as he driffted to sleep.

OOC: shogun if you want take vaska with you, but he wont tell you anything about himself, or his other personality, the Hlaalu one, I have school tomorrow and I wont get on untill 3 something cental time.

So far it was working. He had passed through the gates of Balmora without trouble. Though he couldn't see their eyes, he could feel the guards' gazes wearing him down, but none appraoched and questioned him. Seems going days at a time without food or sleep shaped him into the perfect image. He looked like crap.

It was still early morning and slightly damp, he couldn't help but wonder if any shops were even open. And what's worse, the town he had once known was gone. The layout was completely different.

This was a bad idea

And it wasn't the only one. Val began to wonder if it was wise to approach anyone and ask for directions.

Dane looked as the Argonian walked into the town square. He was a squalid thing and he looked... well like crap. Still there was a strange look in his eyes. Dane certanly wasn't a abolishanist but it was terrible that slavery was allowed at all. The Argonian seemed lost and even though it was against his nature the Argonian appeared to be a kindred spirit.

He approached the slave and asked "Lost?"

(argh sorry, I have to go, sad.gif )

Akar woke up, and was suddenly very hungry. He almost cursed himself for spending all his money on skooma instead of food, but thought better of it; that skooma was very high quality and quite good.

He strapped his sword onto his back where it belonged and grabbed his empty pack and slung it over his shoulder.

He had been going north east for awhile, maybe north now?

Any direction was fine with him. He began heading north.
