i usualy play a mage of the run and hit and run type. no more mister nice-guy-mage. i'm gonna b a cute little kitty and rip hearts out with my bare hands.
i'll likely play an archer or mage due to lack of experience if i don't succede (never played morrowind sad.gif )

I am really going to try the sholin monk thing.
Robe (with maybe some light armour underneath)
Hand to Hand, which I will pratices constantly to get up nice and high early.
Athletics, Acrobatics from speed
Block from Endurance
Security, Sneak, Marksman from agility
That is the major skills covered
Be interesting to see what a high hand to hand and block skill does
added to that the dodge perks.
Any suggestions?

I dont think its a good idea to speculate on what specific things your character will do in the game at this moment in time. I dont think its a good idea to speculate at all, well....outside the Realm of "Im going to be a Khajiit Thief" or "Im going to be a breton mage" sort of speculizing, thats something you can stick too.

For Expample

Im Going to be a Khajiiti Rouge!

and

Im going to be a Imperial Knight!

Under these stipulated criteria I think speculation falls nicely within the realms of suggestions for future development of a game we are all waiting for.

From all the info that is slowly amassing regarding everything from combat the skill progression I think we are getting close to some speculation.

Fancy choice of words son. But I do hate it when people use big words for no reason,
So, for the agreed rules we can predict making a game about making a character in Oblivion?

He, that wasn’t what I was talking about sir, I was talking about prematurely discussing skill choices for characters in a game that wont be released for several months. biggrin.gif

The safest thing to do is just speculate on what kind of TES Archetype variant you will most likley be smile.gif

As all I was trying to illustrate was that this is a forum and it should be open to discusion.
Yes the actual game isnt out for months, however information is becoming available that is giving us a clearer idea of the ins and outs of what it is going to be like. I assume every one here is reading anything and everything that is comeing out on TES IV - Oblivion. There for what better place to pool that knowledge and be able to "speculate".

TES Archetype assumes this game will be the same as the last in the series. And that isn't the title of the thread.

I hope you don't limit your play to just what has past.

Judging by everything I have read the Hand to hand skill has been completly overhauled and is now going to be more than just for punching drunken nords who get out of control.
So why not a "Martial Arts Monk" as an Archetype

So if you have some feelings on what it "might be like" to use these new and improved skills I would love to hear them. Constructive comments are always so much nicer to read.

And all I was trying to illustrate was the fact that people are getting into specifics based off vauge information. theres nothing wrong with pointing out what kind of Archetype variant you would want to be, put pointing out the specifics of what you will use and when you will use it is a premature act, its no more valid than saying
"Im gonna chose hairstyle 4 at 2/3rds length!" because all thats doing is making a descision based off what you hear that may not be what you want. I was only ever against speculating specific skills anyway, Race, Class, Prefrences, and to an extent, Hair "err i want Black long hair!" So go on ahead sir

Ive got no problem with that smile.gif

Hmmnn... between the choices of a unskillful thief, an offensive or slightly annoying warrior, or an extremely hurried and bothered mage I'm not sure I want any blink.gif I'm not sure just what an assasian is suppose to be, but given between my choices (I'd rather not be etcetera if it's anything like the others) I'd be that. Besides, having the ownership of my own boat sounds dandy.

Those damn rouges!, Always rouging me up!

Y'all are driving me nuts! It's spelled rogue, not rouge (rouge is red in French)!

I'm most likely going to be a thief, wandering around in the night around town with a bow, stealing stuff... and then maybe even take over a shop or two. You know, the typical things thieves do happy.gif My thief would be an argonian or khajit.

Oh yeah I forgot to add mine...

Well since I found out Oblivion is sans facial Hair I abandoned all interest in Human characters.

Argonians this round seem to be a little red for my tastes, and depending on weather or not you can have a long flowy black mane (much like my own smile.gif) I will play as a Suthay Raht Bandit, stealing for my own subjectified form of justice and richiousness, stealing and killing in the name of justice and the common wealth biggrin.gif

and in the name of anybody with enough money of course.

Their skincolor depends on their age.

We don't know what Khajiit subtype will be in the game. Doesn't look like a Suthay or Suthay-Raht at least. Perhaps Ohmes, Cathay, Dagi or Tojay, seeing as not much is known about the last three.

Age defined color i know of, basiclly im more interested in a Khajiit character.

And surely you know that the Suthay are the Khajit sub-species in oblivion, i mean, havent you seen the images? Excluding the fact that i mistakenly used Raht to end Suthay, wich was my bad. It just rolls off my tongue easily smile.gif

Surely you have seen this picture.

Now, if that's a Suthay then the developers have made some rather big changes to their Khajiit designs. In Morrowind, we had Suthay-Raht. And the Khajiit in the picture is definitely not a Suthay-Raht. Further, we know that the Suthay (and basically, all of the other non-Raht Khajiit) are very similar to their -Raht brethren, only smaller.

Interview with Jobasha
QUOTE(Jobasha)
When Masser and Secunda are new, the Suthay is born. They look similar to Jobasha, but smaller.

When Masser is new and Secunda is waning, the Suthay-raht is born. Jobasha is a Suthay-raht, as are nearly all Khajiit in Morrowind. Other races call the Suthay-raht "Ja'Khajiit," but Jobasha knows not why. "Ja'Khajiit" is one of our words for Mehrunes Dagon.

So no, I really do not think that the Khajiit we've seen is a Suthay.

But surely you're not instigating that the Khajit in Oblivion, or moreover Cyrodil, are
another breed? like the Cathay or the Cathay Raht. and CERTINLEY not the Tojay, Dagi, or Alfiq? too cat-like to be Ohmes, to many of them to be Mane. And too small to be Cathay

What do you sugest These Guys are then?

Point me to a place where the Cathay, Tojay and Dagi and their appearances are thoroughly described. And no, Tamriel Rebuilt's fan concepts will not do.

And I never said it could be an Alfiq or the Mane. We can easily count those two out, seeing as we do have a description of them.

But seriously, look at the Khajiit we have in Oblivion and then at the Suthay-Raht we have in Morrowind. Notice any differences? Something about their legs?

So, I still say it's either Ohmes-Raht, Dagi(-Raht) or Tojay(-Raht). This is based on what we know from before about the subtypes.

The Legs mean nothing im afraid to say, I read an Oblivion F.A.Q awhile ago
QUOTE
As far as body styles, they’re more like they were in “Redguard”, where they walk like regular humans, even though they have tails and such. We did this to keep the same animation and clothing system for all characters, as it’s one of the most insanely complicated parts of the game.

So the only reason we have the Homo-bipedal beast man is because.....well that^

And if the only thing seperating the Suthay from the Raht is fully functionable monkey legs.

Then This must be a new species of Argonian because its certainly not a Sils

So basically, they'll just say screw the lore and change the Suthay(-Raht) so that it's easier for them to model the Khajiit.

You know, I really hope that's not the case.

But anyway, I'm done for now. I still don't think it's a Suthay(-Raht) based on what we know about that type right now. We'll just have to wait and see what Khajiit we'll have in Oblivion.
