[Edit]Yeah, Metallica and Iron Maikden rock![/Edit]

I found some of my dad's old music lying around on the comp, in a file which I had forgotten about, and found some songs I liked. Thus far, I've been primarily listening to:

Quiet Riot- Come on, Feel the Noise
QUOTE
Come on, feel the noise
Girls rock your boys
We'll get wild, wild, wild
Wild, wild wild.
So you think I got an evil mind,
Tell you honey,
I don't know why, I don't know why.
So you think my singing's not in time,
It makes me money,
I don't know why, I don't know why,
Anymore, Oh no...<snip>

Obviously, being a fairly typical male in at least some ways still, the first four lines interest me. smile.gif And I like it when a person can critisize themselves (lines 8 and 9), it's good for you.

Quiet Riot-Slick Black Cadillac
QUOTE
<snip>
It's like an institution of revolution
Feels alright, feels alright.
Drivin' in a slick black Cadillac,
It's got solid gold hubcaps.
<sni[>
It makes you feel like a king,
I only need one thing
And that's a slick black Cadillac.
<snip>

I love cars. Another typical male trait I still have, despite my oddness. smile.gif

Quiet Riot- Bang Your Head-Mental Health
QUOTE
<snip>
I want it louder, more power
I'm gonna rock untill it strikes the hour.
Bang your head!
Mental help'll drive you mad!
Bang your head!
Mental help'll drive you mad!
<snip>
I'm.....
frustrated, outdated,
I really wanna be...overrated.
I'm a finder, and I'm a keeper
I'm not a loser and I ain't no weeper.
I've got the boys, to make the noise.
Won't ever let up, hope it annoys you.
Join the pack, filled with crack.
Now you're here, there's no way back.
Bang your head!
Mental help'll drive you mad!
Bang your head!
Mental help'll drive you mad!
<snip>

I'm a hard-rock headbanger at times, I can't help but love this song. And there are numerous cases in our area of councelors telling "the people in charge" about things that are mentioned in confidence, in supposedly confidential meetings. hasn't happened to me, because I avoid speaking to councelors unless absolutely necesary, in which case I talk the same way I do to my parents. (limited to *shug* *shake head* *nod* "Yeh" "Meh" "Neh") So I'm not at risk for that, but others that I know have had that happen to them. Plus my inherent distrust in those who have power of any kind over me. So I have to like the mental help part as well as the headbanger part.

Rainbow-Since You've Been Gone
QUOTE
I get the same old dreams,
same time every night,
Fall to the ground and I wake up.
So I get out of bed, put on my shoes,
and in my head,
thoughts slide back to the breakup.
These four walls are closing in
Look at the fix you've put me in
Since you've been gone, since you've been gone
Outta my head can't take it.
Could I be wrong, but since you've been gone
You cast a spell so break it.
<snip>
Your poisoned letter, your telegram
Just goes to show you don't give a damn!
Since you've been gone, since you've been gone
Outta my head can't take it.
Could I be wrong, but since you've been gone
You cast a spell so break it.
<snip>

Dunno why I like this one, really. I don't like most relationship songs, but I like the rythm to this one.

With the exception of the last one, these songs are much lighter than my usual industrial/metal/goth/electronica style music that I usually listen to. I've noticed I've been a bit happier (not much, but just enough that I managed to notice) since I've been listening to this stuff. I still like the music from before, but it has it's time and place. When I'm POed, ticked off, and I have serious problems going on, then it's time to bring out the heavy music. But when everything's going fine, happier rock, more lighthearted stuff, works much better for me.

I'm kinda like LoneWolf today; except I don't think that Metallica is better.

He probably used a character creation game and then photoshoped them to perfection. Well done! I think thats the first time I've seen someone do that without making it look like crap.

Anyways, the theme song from Doom. I can't remember who its by, but I'll find out and edit later.

It looks fake, but I have to make sure.

Anyways, out of boredom, I'm gonna name the DT band members.

In order from left to right : John Myung, Jordan Rudess, James LaBrie, Mike Portnoy, John Petrucci.

Correct?

It wasn't difficult. It says their names on the top.

Oh, and I didn't do it, some guy named Matt Smith did.

Took me forever to find this one.

Loss of Me from the Final Fantasy 9 soundtrack.

Despite coming from an old playstation game it's rather beautiful.

lol it's a final fantasy song. I have a bunch of them. I find most of the final fantasy music to be really good, especially considering it is game music.

Nine Inch Nails - The line begins to blur

"...As I lay here and stare
the fabric starts to tear,
it's far beyond repair
and I don't really care,
as far as I have gone,
I knew what side I'm on,
but now I'm not so sure,
the line begins to blur..."

Magnificent.

Did you guys know that Al pitrelli (the guitarist of Megadeth) is also in Trans-Siberian Orchestra?

I didn't know that until a few weeks ago.

I'm listening to Markscheider Kunst.

Can't get any better than a russian combo with a nigerian singer doing south american style music! biggrin.gif Discovered these while checking a well-known online bookstore for records of a certain other very obscure band, from Berlin, called 17 Hippies.

In case you want to check out Markscheider Kunst, you can probably try this here page with samples. #11 is very nice smile.gif

Aaaaaand a friendly reminder. Every post in this thread may start with the song the poster is currently playing, but this shouldn't degrade into a post your playlist thread, otherwise it'll get closed. So talk about your music OR ELSE devilsmile.gif

I like it; it's real chill.

After 30 seconds of track 11, I've put on Rush - Spirit of Radio.

And learning it on guitar.
