Mythic Dawn Cave - Main Quest, help how to get the sacrifice out alive Options

I am a archer mage. In the Mythic Dawn shrine where you are to grab the book Mysterium Xarxes, has anyone got the sacrifice out alive?

After events unfoil I am locked in The shrine area until I pick up the book, did I miss a key on the way in?

If it was not for all the locked doors I could work ahead and kill off all the Mythic Dawn guards. Now the sacrifice runs ahead of me and gets killed.

Please post some tips.

Ok from what I remember (I searched for tips on this as well).

- Agree to leave all your stuff and follow the guardian inside.

- Watch the initiation etc., and agree to kill the sacrifice/captive.

- When you have the dagger, go upstairs on the ledge on the left side (facing the captive). The.. uhm.. head Mythic Dawn woman will follow you up, but not the others.

- Kill her with the dagger. Try sneaking to get the 6x bonus. For some reason she'll be facing one direction no matter where you are. You can also sneak and steal one of your items from her, and she won't mind. She'll say something like "Pfff... that's worthless to me anyway". But the next time you try to steal she'll attack, so choose wisely if you do this approach.

- When she's dead, you can collect all your stuff from her, as she's the one carrying it. I think she also has the key you need. The others will still not respond or follow when you kill her. This is probably a bug, but...

- Now you have all your stuff. Go back down and kill the others, then explore the entire cave and kill everyone. Not sure if you have to do this, but I did to ensure that the captive could escape safely. You'll also find some nice loot, I think.

- Go back to the captive and release him (or was it a her?). He/she will start running off. talk to him/her, and he/she will thank you and tell you where he/she can be found later to give you some free training.

You're done.

Edit: And remember to grab the book before you leave! But don't take it before you kill that first woman.

If he survives, you will find him (and a nice reward) in the central temple in the temple district of the capital

I went to kill him then turned around, grabbed the book and bolted out of the joint... dodged lots of lightning and maces but with my superior speed and acrobatics i got out safely... poor sacrifice is prob still laying there :S

I didn't agree to give up my stuff, just killed my way in. when you are up on the ledge looking at them, hit them with some long range area effect spells. Works great!
I managed to save the guy, not sure what I did special except killed all bad guys quickly.

I went back at lvl 30 to try to complete this. It may be the toughest fight in the game so far. I think it is well worth it to get the sacrifice out alive, to bad it's so hard to accomplish.

If you free the sacrifice, go to Temple Of One in Imperial city a few days later, he acually is a priest there and will teach you a few points of restoration and alchemy for free. (uespwiki)

free the sacrifice, take the book on the alter, clear out the cave, go back find the dead sacrifice, open the console, click with your mouse on the NPC you wish to resurrect, to select his reference, then type "resurrect". (uespwiki)

reading this thread on other forums its clear that most people have no idea why the sacrifice should be saved.

edit I have read that if you kill the argoian and follow the sacrifice script you join the Mythic Dawn. Not sure what that quest opens up.

It is better to leave the book and sacrifice alone until you've killed all the Mythic Dawn agents in the cave, then go back for them. No need for resurrection console commands then.

Olav, how do you get out of the shrine area to clear out all the MD agents if the gate does not open til you take the book off the alter?

Basically, what you have to do it save him, grab the book, and keep an eye on him on your way out. It's not easy, I have save often and usually stayed in the stealth just firing convalesence at him, and hitting his enemies with critical attacks. I switched all my enchanted items to speeds fortifiers to keep up with him.

I didn't know the gates didn't open until you removed the book. Well it's been a while since I did it, but I guess I grabbed the book after killing the 4 Mythic Dawn agents present in the room with the sacrifice (the others will leave). Then I explored the cave and killed all the agents (I remember I returned to the sacrifice room through that closed gate on that ledge mentioned earlier, where I killed the head agent. There was a lever or switch to open it on the other side).

Then I released the sacrifice, who then escaped safely through that now open gate.
