Your Favorite Sport, Have one? Options

Wow, Bofra - sounds fun. I like bicycle riding too, I forgot that. I have no earthly idea what kilometers are, how long I mean; but Cain & I used to ride our bicycles about 10 miles a day when we really rode them everywhere.

I used to do about 20 km but now I don't have my bike anymore 20km would be about 16-18 miles I guess, I need a new bike, busing is expensive, comparatively cheap but not as cheap as free. And as for cars, I'm not a cave man, I'll leave cut and burn to them.

My favourite sport is snowboarding, as Ibis knows. Last year I was playing turf hockey but I am too lazy to do so this year, it was getting to serious for me, everyone expecting me to put in commitment.

Here in Uppsala, the town I live in, everyone lives by their bycicle, it's the town of Sweden with most bycicles per capita and with most extensively built bycicle-streets. So here it's rather normal to ride 15-20 km /day. I for one have 6 km to the trainstation I take to sthlm, so it's 12 km/day usually, and then if I have training I also have to ride 9 km to the training and 9 km back, thats a lot of bicycling .

So, my little trip of 1140km is not that bad .

And oh yeah, tomorrow is the day! Man Germany and Costa Rica is going to be fun to see, I so cheer for Costa Rica!

well, considering that summer have come to Norway, and the gas price have reached the top, I have gotten mroe and more into bicycling, and I enjoy to go on long trips as well:)

But for favourite sport, well I have been spending a lot of time on the football field, but dont know if I like it more than I like Karate or Kung Fu...so, I guess we can count all of them as my favourite sport.

Like I said - having played both, having experienced both, Rugby is more violent.

But that doesn't mean it's the same in the pro league. If it's so wimpy as you say it is, they wouldn't have so many injuries. I don't know, I wouldn't want some fat boar jump on me even if I had the armor

Oh, I have no idea what it's like at pro level. But at college level (I played at Uni) the game is very very rough and very very dirty. American Football is more regulated, and thus far less brutal.

Really? ohhhh, I´m impressed....Sorry I could never do that.....I don´+t like jogging.....walking is something I do......now and then (nordic walking)

Then again aren´t you afraid of overdoing it? According to what I´ve read you should let the body rest now and then......that will even increase the efficiency of the training in total....

Even thou I despise Rugby ( I can't believe I typed that... that word I think I must wash my self in acid afterwords) I must say it is a lot more violent than American Football.

Down here you can easely spot the Rugby players. theyre the well built guys that have the dazed and confused expresion on theyr face from all the tackeling in the sport.
The Ausie rules games looks rather brutal as well.

Wile we are on joging my mother is gonna run the Comrades for the third time.

My apologies for not reading this entire topic...

I don't play any sports, but the one I enjoy watching the most is curling. Lots of closeups of people thinking about tactical decisions, compared to most other sports where you see anonymous glimpses of people with helmets.

This definition applies mainly to winter sports...

lol Olav... I have to agree, even thought how boring curling is I tend to watch it...

Remember I sat up to around... 02:00 or was it 03:00 at the night when Norway beat Canada in Salt Lake was it? Hadn't even heard of the sport, I was like... Ehm, roll some stones down a ice-course... Ok..

He he.. yeah it was during the previous Olympics where Norway won a gold medal, and I was definitaly not a fan before that! But when I saw how good-looking the participants were this year I simply could'nt stay away (women's team of course)!

Well - the Winter Olympic that just was, that was bad by us - lost much and a lot of sick particapents (like i spelled that right). What's so typical is that if Norway doesn't do good in a Winter Olympic the people here go mad, has so high expectations and when things doesn't work out they start blaming everyone... lol
