I think it would be cool to be able to weild two handed swords in both hands if your strength is high enough, like in baldurs gate.Something else that would be cool is being able to put poison on your blade.Any insight?
In my opinion dual-wielding two two-handed swords, or bihanders would be ineffective and would not look as great as wielding just one bihander. The reason being that each individual weapon requires its own fighting style in order to be most effective. Similarly, short swords, spears, halberds, sabers, and even daggers, all require a different style of martial application. Dual-wielding greatswords would be like dualwielding spears. This feat is not impossible to do, especially if you are a strong warrior, yet fighting with one spear would be a bit deadlier.
In addition the wielding of two bihanders would not be as aesthetically beautiful as with just one bihander. Instead of having a warrior making accurate cuts and parries, you would just have a guy who looks like he is clumsily bashing his opponents down.
On the other hand, dual wielding two short swords, sabers, longswords, or especially two katanas, would be both highly effective and probably the most elegant way to cutting down enemies (when dual-wielding).
On the other hand I definatly agree with creating poisons to coat either blades or arrows. But didn't morrowind already have poisoned blades and arrows?
One kind of weapon I definatly would like to wield, would be a rediculously large and heavy bihander (I guess you can already tell on how much I like greatswords). I would also suggest the creation of more special parrying moves which allow you to immediatly counter. Such as deflecting a blade, moving in, bashing the pommel to the head of the opponent, and finally cutting him down while he is distracted.
*Shoots Shogun Ryudan with a sniper rifle for halfway stealing his name*
*Ahem* Now that that is cleared up....
Ryudan basically took the words out of my mouth on duel wielding. It would be a nice touch for something not much biger than a tanto, but would be stupid for something like two claymores.
And Morrowind had a poison enchantment. Now what would be neat is buying a poison then applying it to your sword so it would be like the MW poison enchantment, except it would only last through a few hits.
*Sorry ShogunSniper... I'm totally new here and I had no idea that the title Shogun was already given away. I guess I can always change it if it bothers you too much.*
Anyway I would not mind seeing a few weapons from cultures other than of Middle European origin.
its ok, i was just foolin with ya
katanas, wakizashis, tantos, and dai-katanas are in, those are japanese.... otherwise what other weapons are there other than guns? when did compound bows come into play?
what would be interesting maybe for a mod or something are bottles that when thrown explode into flames like an incindiary grenade (yes, i stole that idea from the rp, so sue me)
I'd like to see bronze knuckles which would fall under hand to hand. I'd also like to see a whip, just to screw with people.
I will start making a list of weapons from almost every culture on the world. I just wonder if it would also be possible to include the races and armor of that culture with their weapons. Since this list would use up a lot of space, I think I will start with weaponry from the Arabia, Persia, and India.
Arabia and Persia:
-Scimitar (of course!)
-Curved double-bladed sword (this one looks like a scimitar but its blade splits towards the end creating a fork)
-Shamshir
-Talwar
-Saif
-other axes, spears, and maces in arab and persian styles
India (way too many cool looking weapons to write them all down!)
-Moplah knives
-Yatagan Blades
-Punch Dagger (one on each hand)
-Quaddara (is this Indian or Arabian or Persian?)
-Pattisa (the blade of this sword grows wider towards its tip)
-Pata (the handguard of this dagger is flat and its grip is looped)
-Bladed Guantlets
-Axes (lots of odd and deadly looking ones)
-Kaman (Indian bow)
-Chakram (I suppose these are throwing weapons?)
Nepal and Tibet:
-Kora
-Sacrificial Axes
-Dung (spear)
Alright, tell me what you think of these weapons, and whether or not it would be possible to include any of these in the game. Feel free to add any other kinds of weapons or make any corrections of my list. I would really appreciate it!
I think it would also be fun to fight with or/and against warriors from Arabia, Persia, and India, who are using the weapons listed here.
I would also like to write down the website on which I found most of the weapons, but I don't know whether the rules allow me to write down the e-mail address or not.
knuckles, those punching daggers, and just wearing gauntlets in general would make nice additions/should raise hand to hand attack power.
i love the idea of the spiked guantlets.
If they dont let you duel weild simitars like Drizz't Do'urden from forgotten realms i will be dissapointed.I love the idea of swinging those blades as a master fighter.
I agree with using duel weapons but not being able to block your opponets attacks is the downfall.
Then you'll be happy to know there will be no dual wielding until the mod comes out.
Thats a majore dissapointment.
Not really. Makes combat more balanced and therefore more fun.
dual wielding would be tight. id like to see actually making weapons from raw materials where you could design and craft them how you want.
here is a small list of weapons i would like to see be made in a mod, click on the name to veiw the image:

I think I saw a gladius in the trailer.
sweet.
They're not that great, I'd prefer a regular sword.
cool
Sephiroth's Masamune.
Sorry but sometimes the most awesome of swords have the most simplistic designs.
I'd like to see it but wielding it... er...
Yah there would be crazy amount of clipping of collision with that monster. but still *drools*
I dream of a scythe...
Being Death materialized on Nirn would be nice .
here are a really nice site....takes a bit of clicking from this link mind you
http://www.costumes.org//history/100pages/militaryuniforms.htm
I think it would be cool to have a Scythe.
I don't know if that was already listed, but I think it'd be kinda funny/neat to mod it in to where it cuts peoples heads off, aha.
adding any weapon that is sword looking would be very easy to make.....
a scythe would also be easy to models, i gues there could be a problem with the animation for youd have to make it yourself....
im sure someone will make a dual wield mod so dont worry
I also dream of a big Scythe!
There was such a thing in a Morrowind mod...the slash spear animation made it look good....but no more spears.
Hi, im brand new to this forum
As a catwoman fan (don't even mention the so called film), i always wanted to play a female thief that had a whip and clawed gloves in game.
So i would like:
A bull whip
Clawed Gloves
Thank you kindly
Arrows with glass heads would be nice also (as i like glass)
[Half-Life 2] gravaty gun to grap NPC`s, and shoot them far away in the sky.....
One weapon I know will never make the cut Mod or otherwise is still my hands down favorite. I LOVE the huge, chained spear from the Fire Emblem GBA game. It is so amazing. *drools*
Another thing I would love to see modded in are different types of Axes. Huge war axes and two handed poleaxes. Axes rock for large characters and any self respecting Orc. But as long as I can get my hands on a nice Broadsword then I won't mind!
i would like to see sum sort of musket.
I would like to see a mod where almost everything can be used as a weapon.
See a broomstick? Why not use it as a staff?
A plate? Throwing disk or shield.
Shovel? an Axe, it worked in WWII.
Fork? If you can kill a giant bull netch with it, it's a weapon.
Spoon? Go for the eyes.
Banjo? I bet you could fire some arrows with those strings, or you could club someone down with it.
A woodelf? Those bastards got hard heads, use him/her as a club.
a whip wheres my marsmerrow [censored]
jkjkjk
i would like a daggar that you can put on yur boot
I dont know about you guys but i realy would like to see some kicking in the hand to hand skill. Yea i know, the name perrty much says it. But i would prefer unarmed combat to format that of a martial art style rather then boxing.
Try doing a roundhouse kick in 70ish pounds of armor.... Not gonna happen. But that being said, I would love to dropkick a Dremora back into his Oblivion hole
I would love to see a tackle sort of attack so you can down an opponent to give an edge. That as well as a disarming tactic would be amazing! Block a big swing from a heavy weapon and then close in and rip the weapon right out of the poor guy's hands!
True Tallius but light armour should allow one to carry out kicks. Your ability to kick should relitively resemble the eqaution where your acrobatics ability is altered by the weight of your armour.I also would love to see throwing weopens which the oblivian team decided to not include in the game.
I do agree the slap fest in Morrowind was kind of dry... even if they added a few different types of punches to spice things up it would be great. And since you added the armor and acrobatics thing it makes things seems a little more doable...
i would also like kicking, my first post said i wanted a daggar on your boot that would be kool you knock him out and while he's laying on the ground stab him/her in the head with your boot
well sorry to add this in late, but you CAN take a poison and apply it to your blades and arrows, It only works for one hit of the blade and one hit with an arrow
What about a sword that could be equipped as a 2 handed weapon or a 1 handed weapon, each with different benifits
A cool weapon would be similar to the crescent blade or whatever from Morrowind.
That and a crossbow.
How about a weapon that isn't real?
like.. A thing that looks like a big sledge hammer only the head looks like a dimond so it has 2 bluntish points?
An alchemist should be able to brew molatle cocktails!
I'd kill for a gothic armor and weapons mod.
That isn't called a 'gothic armor and weapons mod'.
Why?
Because eastern germanic tribes from scandinavia have nothing to do with Imperialist Romans in a world of Magic.
But that does not abstain from the fact that these are extremely aesthetic http://www.myarmoury.com/feature_gothic_armour.html.
I want to maintain some level of practability.
Also, i'm not suprised this
http://www.a2armory.com/medknigetbre.html isn't already in Oblivion.
It's a beautiful set of armor, we'd just need to design the parts covering the other limbs.
Just a Cuirass, to accent another armor.
Like Silver, or Mithiril.
On the Clothing front, a new set of coats would do fab.

And a few random quikpiks.

I hope there are alot of weapons off the warhammer fantasy game.
Seeing as i am a big fan of table top gaming, i would love to see lots of the weapons.
Since I'm too lazy to read everyone's suggestion, I'm just gona post what weapon would be bad-boat, so sorry ahead of time for double posting.
Saji would like, nigh, love to see a freaking HUGE-boat blade as tall as the weilder that is like 3 feet wide and 1 foot in depth! Like, Gatt's Sword but not clouds....cloud's compaired to gatts is like, a tooth pick to a redwood
I'd like to post a couple of serious considerations that I plan on attempting myself but I've not modded anything since the ol' Quake days. So I'll admit, it'll take me some time to learn things.
But if anyone is more so apt at helping out with this list then I'd appriciate some info and others attempting these items as well.
-Parrying blades. :I plan to just replace a shield graphic with that of a wakizashi or a Spanish poniard type deal. There's quite a few daggers in game I want to do this with but it'll give the game a bit of a 'rogue'ier edge and look more realistic.
-Pole arms. I want spears and pole arms back, but that's going to be a huge task I'm sure.
-Knuckle Weapons: So many of the gauntlets and gloves would make excellent fist weapons as is. Maybe some cesti with small magical enchants so you can finally punch a ghost in the face.
-Pets : I believe I'll make a vender that sells dogs, wolves, and maybe even pet dragons and such to have follow you around and use the general benificial AI to help in combat. Shouldn't be too hard.
Best of luck if anyone else attempts this as well. Feel free to contact me at cheapassassin@gmail.com if you have any tips or have indeed created these modifications.
oh oh oh....WAIT! I want, The Master Sword and maybe ever Big Gorron;s Sword! 0WN@G3!!!1!
What I love?
Sword of wind. A sword with ridiculous reach. (further than the blade!)
Some gloves that increase hand to hand. (sharp pointy thingies on your knuckles and stuff.)
And finally, going completely away from the time period.
A staff that looks and feels like X-com's Heavy Plasma!
And a flying suit to go with it!
Or a staff that spawns a creature that looks like a floating silver football that races to the nearest enemy and blows up in a massive explosion. Call it the Blaster Bomb launcher.
Ok, the last ones just won't fit into Tamriel without making people frown. Forget about those. But I love to see the sword. ,,He is still out of range for melee. Archus Rangius, put an arrow in him. Hmm, why is he swinging his sword? Divines, Archus's head is rolling over the floor!"
How about some Spears?
Kamas, Stilettos, Claws, Crossbows, Throwing, Sickles, Scimitars, Whip, Mace would all be nice, too...
about the things like katanas and such...i was so happy to hear about the whole sheath thing...until the katanas are sheathed on the waist..how un-ninja like!!!!
how about sum1 somehow changes it so that the sheat is on the back?
and yeah duel wpns sounded cool in morrowind..until one counted as a shield and u cant atk with it
brass knuckles for the average hand to hand fist fight champion, that wouldn't be too hard to mod imo
