No one really knows how it happened.

Almost all of Cyrodiil and the surrounding borderlines were affected by an unknown disease. I knew that this epidemic was nothing we've ever seen. Three months back, the Royal Healers and the Guild of Mages was working on a cure. It was a promise that they never kept. An associate of mine brought me terrible news. Instead of killing this virus, they unknowingly amplified it!

It started in the Imperial City itself.

(the next part of this paper is stained with ink and blood. A sharp eye can detect the words 'died from the disease' and 'tore each other'.)

... so I warn that whoever read this, make haste to Anvil! Ships from (blotched with ink) has arrived and is ferrying those fortunate to a safe place!

May the Nine give us strength in these times of bereavement,

Courier Ra'Jhibus.

------------------------

Another 'Cyrodiil-is-doomed' RP. Only this time though, no major wars have ensued.

So here's the deal (I'm going to leave some spoilers hidden, because I don't wanna spoil it to those who joins and hey, it causes some anxiety and curiousity right?);

The Empire is struck with an epidemic. It was so powerful, thousands were put to the grave. The Mages Guild and the Royal Healers joined hand-in-hand to combat tis threat before it can do further damage. However, instead of finding a cure by studying the plague, they accidentally created a CURE THAT AMPLIFIES the DISEASE. Oblivious, the citizens of the Empire bought the cure and guess what?

They died and .. Y'know. Arose from death and killed the living. The Zombies now roams the forests of Cyrod in overwhelming numbers, hunting down those who survived.

Some survivors that fortunately did not buy the 'cure', rallied to each other and sent requests of help from the other provinces. (Spoilerish) sent ships in Anvil to ferry the survivors to their homeland.

But a handful of survivors believed that other survivors are trapped in other cities, needing of aid. So they sent fast-footed couriers on horses guarded by surviving Legionnaires, also on horses, to the other cities.

What remains to be seen is IF there are other survivors who received the letters of aid.

history and background: Vernon started working at the fighters guild after he left hammerfell, where he did all the little jobs that none of the "heroes" would do. this helped him perfect his warrior training and develop a good personality. Vernon spent the rest of his time as an odd job do-er, doing anything a paying customer would want. Vernons only other source of money was from a "special company" that he refused to stay at.

when the pandemic started, Vernon was resting down his comfortable alleyway, and by the time he learned of the plague, almost everyone had either turned or died. He donned his armour and trusty elven longsword and dagger, hoping to round up survivors and escort them to anvil.

Hey, this is cool! I'm up for it!

Name: Iris
Gender: Female
Age: 15
Race: Wood Elf

Appearance: Short Pixie-cut blood red hair, Black eyes, very short (smaller than male wood elf, so, like, tiny), sure-pale skin, pointy teeth (thought you never notice unless you have the misfortune to be bitten by them), lots of scars, the most notable of them is one that goes across her left eye and meets with her mouth. Never smiles, usually has a sneer or a grimace playing on her face, eyes are usually narrowed in suspicion and/or dislike.

Personality: Immoral, clever, and wanting revenge for various unknown things, she has no friends, alies or people she trusts. Kills constantly, though not a member of the dark brotherhood. However, she is known for mood changes (and though many of them result in death, this newest one might not) and does have a nicer side, although she has never admitted it to anyone, esp. herself.

Surviving skills: Good at killing pretty much anything, except spiders, which she really really hates. Best at killing people/zombies by bow and arrow or sword. Okay with the spear, but not as lethal. Born under the sign of the Serpent, so when she bites people (which is often) they die pretty much immediatly. Unknown whether talent works on zombies.

Helpful talents: Good at sneak, athletics, acrobatics, marksmanship, security, blade.

History and Background: Iris was born as she was. She never grew taller, smarter, more lethal, or better at anything. She was born looking like she is now, too. And once she was born, she left her house (which at the time she thought to be an imprisonment), and ran off to go kill people. She's very odd.

It is when she is in the Imperial City that she finds out about the zombies. While she was looking for a bit of bread on one of her victems, one of them rises up and begins to try to kill her. She tears it downs, of course, but then all the others rise up too. It is then that she knows of the terrible zombie epidemic...

Ok, guess I'm in. And I'll be posting Kaye again. I just like the old guy too much and he hasn't really been used all that much.

Name: Kaye Soscean
Gender: male
Age: 48
Race: Redguard
Appearance: An unremarkable looking man, Kaye has a grey beard and roughly cut hair of moderate length. His eyes are set deep in their sockets and wrinkles have broken up his skin. The rest of his body is light, slightly malnurished and perpetually hunched over. This, combined with his patched back and forth clothes, makes him appear as little more than just another beggar.

Notable Appearance: He’s got a tattoo over his heart that’s an artistic representation of the Lord birthsign, though it’s faded. Not that you would see it cause he prefers to keep his clothes on.

Personality: Kaye is a tired man, fed up with himself. He struggles with a newfound adiction to alcohol and doesn't seem to care about anything these days. Deep down however, he is still searching for enlightenment which, combined with his self-loathing, drives him into situations he would probably avoid if he still wanted to live. So while in the past he would just flee when confronted with a city of undead, these days he would stick around at least long enough to finish his drink.

Surviving Skills (Major Skills): He's good with his hands and feet. Training his senses has also given him an awareness of his surroundings that borders on the superhuman. Other than that, he doesn't hold many skills worth mentioning.

(translated into a more gamey language): Hand-to-hand, unarmoured, agility, athletics.
Helpful Talents (Minor Skills and other Odd Perks): He does not suffer as much from being drunk as most other people do. Also while not as succesfull as he'd hoped, he is proficient enough in meditation techniques to control the biorythm of his body (breathing, heartrate etc).

History and Background: Not much is known about Kaye's past. In fact, he barely remembers the name of his hometown, even less where it lay or what it looked like. What is known is that he has spent most of his life wandering Tamriel at random, only making contact with people when absolutely needed. For years he attempted to clear his mind of all thoughts, believing that if he succeeded, he would become enlightened. Along the way, he also practiced in the art of the fist. Partially because some of the routines helped focus his mind, partially because staring down wolves and the like with pebbles and harsh words wouldn't be all that healthy.

Perhaps it was luck, an instinct for evading trouble, or merely the fact that he was out far from civilization most of the time, but Kaye has managed to get through every major crisis of the last half a century unharmed and often, unaware of their happening.

Now he's growing old however, and fears that he will never reach enlightnement, whether through clearing his mind or otherwise. It is this fear that has made him abandon the wilderniss and return to the towns and cities. Unfortunately for him, his return to civilization came at a bad time. Just when he was enjoying a drink he couldn't afford, trouble struck.

Name: Zaeed Massani (sorry, I love the character too much not to use his likeness here)
Gender: Male
Age: 51
Race: Imperial

Appearance: Multitude of scars (including a nasty one on the left side of his face that has blinded his right eye), Blue eyes, a series of blue tattoos in his neck, chest and arm. Wears a worn but well kept ebony cuirass, greaves boots, right gauntlet (no shoulder guard) and left gauntlet and pauldron. Has a pair of small custom crossbows (not to difficult to loaf of bread, but powerful enough to punch through a man's head) and a standard steel broadsword with fire enchantment.

Personality: Zaeed is a honoured user, he is arrogant, snarky and self centered but friendly to those who earns his respect. No real fear of anything as he has seen every bad thing the world has to offer (and survived it all).

Surviving Skills (Major Skills): Restoration, Marksman, Long Blades, Heavy Armour, and Athletics.

Helpful Talents (Minor Skills and other Odd Perks): Hand-to-hand, Short Blades (hidden dagger).

Powerful Rage: Zaeed hates being hurt or bested so in bad situations he can force up a wave of adrenaline that sharpens his senses and numbs him to pain and wounds that would cripple the staunchest of men.

History and Background: Zaeed grew up as an orphan in the Imperial City, learning at youg age that if he wanted to live he would have to steal, bully and be generally meaner and better than anyone else. Shortly past adolecense he started up a mercenary band with a fellow aquaintance. The mercenary work paid well until his partner double crossed him, slashing his face with a knife and stabbing him in the back before leaving him to die.

Zaeed survived and struck out on his own as a marcenary and bounty hunter/assassin. After thirty years in the business he is rightfully know as the best bounty hunter/mercenary alive and his name is feared and held in awe by all men and criminals all across Tamriel. Like Kaye he is enjoying a drink at an inn on someone else' expense when disaster strikes.

Link to the character I've based him on for those who don't know.
Zaeed

I'll throw myself in with this one if you guys are alright with it.

Name: Dalarius
Gender:Male
Age:11
Race:Bosmer

Appearance:Small, thin and pale. He looks malnourished, largely because he is. He has long dark hair that falls just below his eyes in unkept curls. He is dirty and unwashed, and covered in small cuts and scrapes. He wears a mismatched set of clothes that are either too big or too small, all have various holes and tears, and his worn sandals are kept on by what seems to be sheer willpower and luck.
Notable Appearance: His eyes are completely whited out and cloudy, though he amazingly can still see.
Personality: Very quiet on the borders of being mute, though by choice, very shy, and prone to running at danger. He's also likely to steal what he can and run, he doesn't trust anyone but himself, but knows when to give in to someone stronger as long as it will benefit him.

Surviving Skills (Major Skills): Athletics, Lockpicking, Stealth, Illusion, Destruction, Mysticism
Helpful Talents (Minor Skills and other Odd Perks): He's very good at foraging and very resourceful, and can and will make use of anything he finds. Being small he also knows how to hide and blend in with his surroundings, though his is aided by his latent and untrained magical abilities.

History and Background:

Dalarius never knew his parents, and no one knew him. He was shunted around the varying child gangs that had plagued Kvatch for years, always being beaten by the stronger, subjected and abused. He quickly took to stealing, only when he knew he could get away with it, and manipulating. He got the name Dalarius due to a local fairty tale, of the shy Dalarius who never aided the community and fell down a well that he was never helped out of. It started with people telling him to "Help everyone out and just follow Dalarius", later being shortened to just the name. His life, however, changed the night before he left Kvatch, the latest gang he had "joined" was not a nice one, children in it dissapeared, regularily. Dalarius found out why, they had been subjugated by a local vampire posing as a merchant, he offered them amnesty from his hunger if they offered him sacrifices.

Dalarius had always known he wasn't quite normal, when he wished he was invisible it was as if people no longer noticed him, and when he begged a bully hard enough to stop sometimes they would...This time it was more. The vampire seemed to enjoy taunting his prey, treating Dalarius to a meal and stories, giving him hope of safety, mentioning a group called the "Twin Lanterns", before revealing his identity. As the vampire fell on him Dalarius wished for one thing only, revenge. The latent magic in Dalarius flared to life, but being untrained and uncontrolled, it erupted from his eyes in a burst of pure uncontrolled force, burning away the undead creature and a good portion of the house. In terrible pain and horror, Dalarius fled, becoming just one more of many street urchins to wind up in the Imperial City.

Now as the city becomes even more unsafe Dalarius trusts to his instincts as he always has, and looks to flee with everything he can fit in his very small pockets.

Name: Cyldreen
Gender: Male
Age: 42
Race: Breton

Appearance: Burned. Completely incinerated. If he still had his skin, he would've had a rough jaw, defiant chin and chiseled marble eyes. But alas, with his crooked nose and pointed ears of his half-elven heritage, he can be considered a demon of hell itself.

He doesn't wear heavy armor, as it would hamper his movement. A hardboiled leather vest over his red tunic, and leather coverings over his black trousers. Tailored boots for his feet. Always carries two elven axes strapped to his waist and a back-up longsword.
Notable Appearance: Apart from his melted skin, none.
Personality: Demented. Sociopath. He doesn't get along well with company unless he has to. Cunning. He constantly plans schemes in his head and will use generally uncalled advantages to get what he desires. Has a discerning eye for weaknesses, and an obsession with pain to himself and to others. And also, quasi-cannibalistic.

Surviving Skills (Major Skills): Axes, Medium armor, Long Blade
Helpful Talents (Minor Skills and other Odd Perks): Light Armor and Destruction.
Odd Perks

Murderous Frenzy: Celdryn can whip himself up in frenzy, clouding his mind with anger and hatred. Just like Zaeed's Rage, only watered down and focusing more on tirelessness and stamina.

Unnerving Admiration: A painlover.. Means he loves pain and thus cannot be 'truly' harmed.

Serpentine Mind: Celdryn can detect weaknesses (chink in armors, the way one handles a sword etc) that can give him advantages in various situations.

History and Background: Born to an odd couple of a skooma addict and a con queen, the man who would be known as the most infamous serial killer grew up in the rough city of Bravil. Celdryn's childhood was ripe with fistfights, group beatings and generally violent things. This happened until he killed seven people in a bloody gang fight. Immediately, his mind was poisoned with the sensation of killing people. The seeds of bloodlust was thus permanently sown into his mind. He layed low until the dust settled and went back home in Bravil.

With twin axes clutched in his hands, he entered the Silverhome of the Water. He rushed off to kill everybody there, the innocents' scream pushing Celdryn more into the cliffs of madness. The screaming, obviously, attracted the attention of the nearby guards and Fighters Guild mercenaries. When they arrived, unrecognizable chunks and dismembered limbs forced their image into the guards' mind. They found the perforator(sp?) sitting calmly on a chair, blood dripping on his lips and smothered with stains.

They set upon him likes wolves against a lone rival. And the lone wolf emerged, although badly broken. They had mage in there and before Celdryn cleaved his head from the cheek, he cast a spell the burned the the wine and mead kegs. The fires immediately consumed anything they touched. Within minutes, the Silverhome was burning. Celdryn barely escaped alive and, like all serial killers, went into hiding. For seven months, none heard of Celdryn.

Then, he sprang into action and went to satisfy his bloodlust.

He killed thirty six in a rampage in Cheydinhal. Twenty eight by ambushing unwary travellers on the road on Chorrol. Forty four in a social gathering in Alinor in which he managed to infiltrate. Ten in Ald'Ruhn, before he was chased out by Redoran warriors. When he was in Skyrim, he killed approximately eighty two by raiding unsuspecting villages. In his ancestral homeland, he managed to murder several politicians before escaping. Fifty seven in Hammerfell. Eighty nine in the very castle of the Mane in Elsweyr. Twenty eight in the elusive swamps of Blackmarsh. Thirty eight in Valenwood.

He was branded the sobriquet 'The Silent Butcher' for silent efficiency of his murders.

He was finally caught by bounty hunters in his hideout in Bravil. He was sentenced to various executions by various countries, until it was decided that he take fair trial in the Imperial City. Just before he could hang his head onto the guillotine before the amassed public, he managed to break free of his bonds and escape, sowing chaos once again. When he left the Sundered City of Kings, he vanished like a ghost, laying low once again.

Three years passed before he struck again, this time with more precision and focus.

After the tremendous damage he had done to Tamriel once more, he felt the bloodlust slowly dissapitating and decided to take a 'break' from his genocidal hobby. He managed to infiltrate the Imperial City and searched for a decent inn where he could lay down and drink some mead.

Somehow I think he and Zaeed could get along enough not to try and kill each other, if only for the fact that both of them are known for their extreme lethality, attacking the other could be a risk.

Oh, come on. Its not like Cyldreen's THAT kind of crazy...

Wait. He is. Watch your backs around him. That guy's unpredictable. He could be showing you respect and then in a blink of an eye, cutting you down and reaching for your livers and lungs and hearts.

As for the Lover of Jessie, they might be in for some friendly rivalry. After all they got their respectable Rage and all.

Since all of our characters are BadAsses in their own way,
(Zaeed is simply Zaeed, Vernon should not be taken lightly, Dalarius has untamed magick, good ol' Kaye is a monk, Iris can bite people who'll instantly die and Cyldreen is a serial killer who killed hundreds.. phew.) I decided to make a NOT so badass character. Forgive the double post.

So meet...
---

Name: Kheyfer
Gender: Male
Age: 27
Race: Redguard

Appearance: A little fat. Has a round face, that some would call ugly, and brown eyes that shows intelligence and wisdom. Keeps his hair in strict sense of tidyness.

Notable Appearance: His height can be considered for a Redguard. His temple could reach a full grown Nord's eyes.

Personality: Self-proclaimed extreme introvert. Shunned himself from society. He can get along well with people, but those people are already choosen by Kheyfer to fit in with his personality. Has a bad history with shrimps.

Surviving Skills (Major Skills): Speechcraft (he prefers to fight battles with words) Illusion (to charm that fish vendor to throw shrimps away) and Alchemy
Helpful Talents (Minor Skills and other Odd Perks): Has a photographic memory. Can write very well and read. If he wasn't such an introvert, he'd be a scholar. Which he is, though its unofficial. Has a hand in cooking, but prefers to keep that a secret.

History and Background: Lived all of his life in the Imperial City. He was schooled at the Arcane University at a young age, a blessing that some would kill for. When he was past adolescence, his mentor found Kheyfer's natural skill at making salves and such. He was then tutored by some of the University's alchemists. Though it was rough and paved with suffering, Kheyfer finally graduated at the age of 21. The first thing he did was find a job. Since he was an alchemist, the potions shops was his best bet.

He eventually found work at the Gilded Carafe as an assistant. For six years, he toiled. Until the plague came.

-----

Whew. As much as I would like to post with Kheyfer, Junior High willn't allow it. Sadface.

I'm thinking of a mage charachter, female, who managed to escape the disease in the IC, and went to Chorrol...

The only problem I see with that is everyone else is still in the IC and the plan of escape goes to Anvil with no mention being made of a detour passed Chorrol. It's probably best if you stick your character in the inn with everyone else. Course, that means you are in the presence of at least two confirmed psychos.
