QUOTE(mirocu @ Aug 1 2018, 10:17 AM) Really interesting vid! QUOTE(TheCheshireKhajiit @ Aug 1 2018, 10:30 AM) QUOTE(mirocu @ Aug 1 2018, 09:17 AM) Well if used responsibly, it’s no scarier than any other weapon. Hopefully this kind of technology will allow us to destroy world killing asteroids. It’s only a matter of time before our luck runs out in that department...Yes, agreed = especially since the Earth shifted on its Axis after that major earthquake in Japan a few years ago. QUOTE(mirocu @ Aug 1 2018, 09:39 AM) Wish I could share Khajiit's optimism but sadly, I don't think I can.
Well Khajiit did say if used responsibly. Humanity has shown a shocking disregard for potential consequences where new weapons tech is concerned. “Well sir, it’s ready to go, but we don’t really know how this “atomic bomb” will affect the Earth when we set it off.” “Detonate it anyway!” QUOTE(mALX @ Aug 1 2018, 11:32 AM) Yes, agreed = especially since the Earth shifted on its Axis after that major earthquake in Japan a few years ago.
It did what?! QUOTE(Dark Reaper @ Aug 1 2018, 11:57 AM) This is the devil thread . “The devil thread”?

The world of combat sports just lost one of its pioneers and OGs. It hurts because he was one of my idols growing up. He was dynamic and explosive, a wild demon of ferocity in a weight class that had no stars to shore it up. In fact, in his peak, he was the face of JMMA. He carried the whole scene on his back and made it look disgustingly easy.
They called him God’s Son for that.
And now he’s gone, taken by cancer. It hurts, man. It really does. I wanted to meet him someday.

Aw, I'm so sorry Uleni! He was so young, too! Here is an article about him: Japanese MMA star Norifumi 'Kid' Yamamoto has died at the age of 41. Yamamoto, who was one of the sport's most popular fighters in the mid-2000s, revealed in an Instagram post in August that he had been diagnosed with cancer. Krazybee, Yamamoto's Tokyo gym, announced he had passed away on Tuesday Sept. 18. https://pbs.twimg.com/media/DnWSx_zUwAAiYen.jpg

Sorry to hear about the loss of your hero, Uleni. Several of my co-workers are MMA fans and practitioners (one is a black belt in tae kwon do, as well), so I know it's a big deal.
I'm sure some of you remember my bemoaning my eye problems back in July. It is mostly resolved - my ophtho suspects that I've become very sensitive to my long term glaucoma medication and switched me to a different one. We are now monitoring to see if it is as effective.
In the meantime, I've developed recurring diarrhea caused by C. difficle, a nasty intestinal bug that can overgrow the good bugs under the right conditions (in my case, clindamycin for an infected scratch). It responded to metronidazole, but came back a week after I finished that medication. Went on Vancomycin, which cleared it up, but again same story, back a week after the last dose. Now my primary care provider wants me to go to a GI specialist so we can figure out why it won't go away permanently. It's not a comfortable disease to endure - intestinal spasms, lower back pain, and chills/hot flashes, not to mention the frequent trips to the porcelain throne.
It looks like I will be out of work for another week (missed five days already) since the soonest the specialist can see me is next Wednesday (at least, the CNP - the Drs aren't available until November 1st). Sigh.
