Chorrol.com _ Fan Art _ Screenshots from Jerric's World

Posted by: Grits Aug 6 2011, 09:00 PM

I have some screenshots. smile.gif I’m afraid I’ll get too unruly for the characters thread, so here we are.

This is my first attempt at everyone. Tips, hints and comments are very welcome! I don’t have any mods yet.

The original http://i1106.photobucket.com/albums/h361/grits29/Jerric.jpg. I know, it’s a photo of my TV.

http://i1106.photobucket.com/albums/h361/grits29/Castingfrost.jpg in a cave.

http://i1106.photobucket.com/albums/h361/grits29/Darnand.jpg in the Anvil guild hall.

http://i1106.photobucket.com/albums/h361/grits29/AbieneandCarahil.jpg I think I need to make Abiene’s face thinner, with a longer nose.

http://i1106.photobucket.com/albums/h361/grits29/Abiene.jpg

http://i1106.photobucket.com/albums/h361/grits29/Cuttingadeal.jpg cuts a deal with Morvayn.

You did an excellent job recreating Jerric on the PC. I've always been terrible with the Oblivion (and Fallout) character creation. You did awesome on Jerric.

Now which cave was Jerric in for the frost attack?

It's great seeing screens of all the other characters in Jerric's story. As much as I like Anvil, Aravi doesn't spend much time there at all so it's great to have a face to go with each one.

Posted by: Grits Aug 6 2011, 09:46 PM

That’s in Mongrel’s Tooth Cave against the imp infestation when he went to back up Aravi and Vilja. (Late! laugh.gif) I took a lot of practice shots before I got the ones I put in your video thread. Most of them were too dark, too bloody, or too many imps landing on his head. It got a little hectic fighting with the menu turned off.

I had to make Abiene, Lildereth, and Darnand as characters since I don’t know how to add NPCs yet. It would be great if there was a way to put them all in Jerric’s game.

Jerric is a pretty boy! I can never make male characters look that handsome. I just have no experience at looking at men I suppose... wink.gif I have to admit though, I was expecting something a bit more macho, like http://img-nex.theonering.net/images/scrapbook/838.jpg or http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_Xa638s-LGYo/R7xAyZueZNI/AAAAAAAAACg/I1QoBabLhM0/s1600/Viking_Warrior_by_severeene.jpg or http://iloveswords.com/images/celtic/LRG_Viking_Decor105.jpg. Maybe if you tried one of the beard mods?

The others look about as much as I expected. Except Lildreth, who looks like she has grey hair? I thought she was younger. It could just be the lighting that shot. The game does a poor job of showing black hair, which is why I rarely have black haired characters, and when I do I make their hair a custom color, that is darker than what the game calls black.

Something you can do for action screenshots is to turn off the ai of the monsters. Open the console, click on them with your mouse, and type in tai. Or just type it in without selecting anything, and it will globally shut off all the npcs and monsters.

Also don't forget to use god mode: tgm
Plus the free camera: tfc
And if you just want a monster to go away: disable. That one removes it from the game world. Handy for getting rid of bodies that are not supposed to be in the shot.

I had a feeling about that shot in the cave!

I didn't think Lildereth looked like an NPC. I honestly thought that Abiene and Darnand were Mages Guild members in Anvil however embarrased.gif laugh.gif

Posted by: SubRosa Aug 6 2011, 11:43 PM

Forgot to mention. Something you can try doing is using a companion mod like CM Partners to create Abiene, Darnand, and the others. That would allow you to put everyone together at once.

Posted by: Grits Aug 6 2011, 11:56 PM

As a dedicated researcher I make sure I look at men as much as possible. tongue.gif In fact I think I need to look at that Sean Bean picture some more. I tried to make Jerric look rougher with the age slider, but he just looked lumpy. He definitely needs a beard mod, messier hair, and some scars. And for me to get busy writing the next chapter. Lildereth is supposed to have jet black hair, and I don’t like the grey that shows up on the vanilla black color. I haven’t messed with it yet, a custom color is a great idea. Also her face looks kind of mean and pointy, but she’s pretty close to how I imagine her. Maybe someone already made an http://alyssalinnpalmer.files.wordpress.com/2011/04/profile-audrey-tautou-2.jpg mod I could use for her. Thank you so much for those commands – that will save the poor guy a lot of pain. It will be great to get the monsters to stand still so I can get the shot. My computer runs Oblivion quite badly, and I get pretty nauseated after a little while.

KC, that’s funny! I think of those two as regular Anvil members, and I’m sure they do too. smile.gif

Thank you both! This is fun.

ETA: I’m wondering if there is a way to copy them out of their games and plug them into Jerric’s. I’ll look at CM Partners and see what I can start figuring out. I’m starting with zero knowledge, so I have a lot more reading to do before I can even ask a decent question. Thank you so much for the tips!! smile.gif

I have considered using CM Partners myself, but like you, I am not sure about copying and pasting the face data. http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=7808 can import the face data from an npc and give it to a player character, not to mention transfer faces between save files, but it does not appear to be able to give an npc your character's face. An important note though, it does not work on Windows Vista or 7.

Posted by: Acadian Aug 7 2011, 12:32 AM

Great job, Grits! Thanks for giving us a nice idea of what your characters all look like! They each look just as I imagined! I will admit that accident prone, lead-with-his nose-Jerric could use a few more lumps and bumps. biggrin.gif

Posted by: Grits Aug 10 2011, 02:11 AM

I had some time to grind my teeth and curse under my breath today, so I spent some of it giving Lildereth and Abiene a few adjustments.

So here's http://i1106.photobucket.com/albums/h361/grits29/Abiene-1.jpg, with a slightly leaner look. I thought my first attempt looked a little robust.

And now http://i1106.photobucket.com/albums/h361/grits29/LessPoutyLildereth.jpg is a little less pouty, with different hair.

Posted by: Acadian Aug 10 2011, 02:26 AM

They both look great! goodjob.gif

I think Lildereth really has that jet black hair look that I think you wanted.

Posted by: King Coin Aug 10 2011, 04:07 AM

Echoing Acadian: Both look great! I'll have to ask you to make my character if I ever decide to take a break from Aravi tongue.gif

Lildereth looks fierce. I haven't seen her yet in the story but I bet she kicks all kinds of @$$

Posted by: Grits Sep 22 2011, 04:54 PM

Thanks, folks! Black hair is difficult. I went a little too Sharpie Marker, but she likes it better than the grey. tongue.gif KC, by now you know that you were right about Lildereth!

Here’s http://i1106.photobucket.com/albums/h361/grits29/Alchemy.jpg

And here’s http://i1106.photobucket.com/albums/h361/grits29/NLeavingtheFalls.jpg below Shadow’s Rest Cavern. This one is from the Ninedava adventure in King Coin’s video thread. The light makes him look kind of pretty, so please use your imagination mod to give him a beard and hit him a few times in the face with, say, a brick.

Posted by: Uleni Athram Sep 22 2011, 06:41 PM

Hey! Nice pics! Its always good to see characters in the 'flesh' from time to time, yes? Jerric looks like the Warrior he is and Darnand? No matter what description you give me, I always picture him with blonde hair and androgynous features. Dunno why. Maybe because I always have my Breton characters be blonde. King Coin took the words out of my mouth when describing Lildereth. She reminds me of Charlie's Angels with her "Don't Screw With Me" look. Abiene looks great!

Can I make a suggestion, Grits? Since you have the PC, you can actually use the Console Commands to somewhat do this. I'm no PC user myself, but I've seen some techniques used by OB-Machinima makers that is REALLY ingenious.

They 'copy' faces from their desired characters, and 'paste' it on their current character. Then, they CLONE THEMSELVES USING THE CONSOLE COMMAND and THEN return to their previous character. See what I'm getting at?

I doubt my grasp of the English Language comes across, so I'm going to make it simple. For me (and hopefully for you, too!)

1. You have Jerric.
2. You then turn his face into Darnand.
3. You then clone yourself using the Console Command.
4. You now have TWO Darnands. One is a clone and the other is you, the Player Character.
5. You then change your Player Character's face into Jerric's.
6. Congratulations! You now have the Two Characters!

Uuurgh! That still doesn't sound right! Just look at this video:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9_98BxHe9wg&feature=related

The ACTUAL advice that I gave you here starts at 1:34 of the video.

I hope this helps you and that we might see the Rest of the Gang in one place! Now, I'm off so I can brew confusion and insanity someplace else!

GAAAAH !!! I didn't know about this thread !!! Grits, I don't get on here anymore unless I get an email, so new threads are never seen unless the AUTHOR PM's ME !!! (hint hint). Now that I have seen this thread, I will get updates (hopefully) - but if you ever start another thread, please let me know so I can come check it out !!!! ARGH !!! I love these screens, Grits !!!

@ my good friend (and the X "Ureniashtram") now Uleni Athram - that vid is Awesome! Thank you for bringing those tips to our attention, those are some great tips !!!

Posted by: King Coin Sep 22 2011, 10:00 PM

Grits: Great screens! I lol'd when you said hit Jerric in the face with a brick.

Uleni Athram: That's an interesting way of doing it, I never considered it. I think making a plugin with the CS would be easier though.

Posted by: Acadian Sep 23 2011, 01:47 AM

Those are great screens of Darnand and Jerric!

You certainly have quite the cast of fully developed characters now from Jerric, to Darnand, Abiene and Lildereth. Each is wonderful in their own way and I love how you have them all interacting in your story. smile.gif

Posted by: Grits Sep 24 2011, 12:44 PM

Uleni Athram, thank you so much! Your directions made sense, and the video confirmed it. I never thought of doing it that way. Here is a quick and dirty http://i1106.photobucket.com/albums/h361/grits29/QuickVersionDarnand.jpg I didn’t have time to change the face in the racemenu, so Darnand is a Breton version of Jerric. This will be handy for shots where faces aren’t too close once I make a save with everyone’ gear in Jerric’s inventory. (Darnand had to wear Jerric’s nasty gray robe in this shot. tongue.gif) I think you should keep imagining Darnand as your mind sees him. My only worry with screenshots was that game images would interfere with how people imagine things in the story. Thank you, thank you!

mALX, I will PM you if I ever start another thread! Thank you, I have been having some fun. I played with the settings a little, and that helped make the game fun on my laptop. The fights in Ninedava were even OK, maybe because it is pretty bright in there.

KC, making plugins in the CS is my goal. I found a Simple Companion Tutorial, but I’m going to start with the My First Dungeon and Basic NPC Creation ones so I get a little understanding first. I think if I make some screenshots with everyone’s facial settings in the race menu, it might help when I start moving the sliders. ohmy.gif

Thank you, Acadian! smile.gif

Jerric passed through Bruma recently. Here he is at Olav's with some of his new friends.

Jerric, http://i1106.photobucket.com/albums/h361/grits29/LookAtHerFaceWhenShesTalking.jpg

Someone stole a blackberry and a loaf of bread? http://i1106.photobucket.com/albums/h361/grits29/HelloOfficer.jpg

Posted by: mALX Sep 24 2011, 03:27 PM

ROFL !! The innocent look on Jerric's face when the guard is questioning everyone !! SPEW !!! You have a knack for capturing great facial expressions!

Grits, you have to know if you are producing, I will be there soaking it up. If I am not, then I don't know about it. PLEASE feel free to PM me and let me know when you have anything up. KC, Acadian, and Zalphon have all gotten into the habit of letting me know anytime they post lately because this year has been such a hellish one for me timewise that I've quit browsing the forum like I used to.

By the way, KC and I are going through that modding school that TK told us about. I have learned tons about modding in there in just a few short lessons (and it is free!). You can choose to take the course and get one on one instruction (and a badge on completion) or you can just do the lessons without turning in your work and still learn from the lessons.

Meh, I'm not the one you should thank. Raditz the Radish should be the one, after all, he was the one who made that video. Anyway, it's good to see those two together in one pic!

I laughed when you said that 'this' Darnand was the Breton-version of Jerric. hehehe. Well, I'm glad that my advice came across. Since the Majesty of Money says that this 'CS Plug-In' is much better, I'm inclined to agree. I'm just a console-player after all.

I lol'd at Jerric looking .. down rather than properly looking the woman in the face. I totally expected that from him! I wonder how the Nord woman feels when Jerric introduces himself to her breasts? Lolololol.

Somebody stole a blackberry and a loaf of bread? Who could do such a thing? Right, Jerric? lol

Posted by: King Coin Sep 24 2011, 07:51 PM

laugh.gif

The screen of Jerric blatantly looking at her breasts is hilarious! Did he get smacked?

Jerric looks so serious in the guard screen. "Are you accusing me of something?"

I couldn't see very well, but it looked like Jerric's hands were wrapped in bandages.

Posted by: Acadian Sep 25 2011, 12:51 AM

Grits, those were fabulous screens! biggrin.gif

1. Hey! My eyes are up here!!!

2. Huh? Musta been some other Nords.

Posted by: Grits Oct 12 2011, 05:06 PM

mALX, thanks for that link! I am very interested in doing this. Argh, when time permits… The whole incident with Ongar stealing food and then sitting down next to Jerric happened while I was moving the camera, it was hysterical. That was a fun night at Olav’s.

Uleni, she looked pretty ticked off. I was laughing.

KC, those gauntlets are the Fists of the Drunkard, you can buy them from Maenlorn at the Flowing Bowl. They are a must-have for Jerric. biggrin.gif

LOL, Thank you, Acadian! smile.gif

http://i1106.photobucket.com/albums/h361/grits29/ViggeGetsAnEarful.jpg Maybe that’s why he moved to Kvatch.

Jerric making friends in Bruma. http://i1106.photobucket.com/albums/h361/grits29/IDontLikeYouEither.jpg

Here’s http://i1106.photobucket.com/albums/h361/grits29/AbieneinChorrol.jpg

And here’s a screenshot I made for the story, but then I realized that it doesn’t look very wintry. http://i1106.photobucket.com/albums/h361/grits29/DarnandandBannerShetcombe.jpg

Posted by: mALX Oct 12 2011, 07:05 PM

These screens are great, both Jerric and Lildereth really look like they are giving someone what-for, lol. Abiene looks lonely, sad, miserable, and cold in Chorrol (just like she described in the last chapter !!!) You should have posted that screen at the bottom of her "Letters" page, how apropos !! Er...is Darnand using a stolen Legion bay horse? GAAAAH !!! Lol. You did a wonderful job on the Facegen for all your characters !!

Posted by: King Coin Oct 12 2011, 07:36 PM

That look! I’m surprised Vigge hasn’t wet himself! laugh.gif

That Dunmer has made quite a few enemies now. Aravi wants to stab him, and Jerric’s going to pummel him with his bare fists!

I have to say, Abiene doesn’t look like she’s enjoying Chorrol much.

Nice screen of Darnand and Banner, but it doesn’t look wintery at all. You could try again, but opening the console first and typing “fw 38EED” (without quotes). That’ll make it snow.

Posted by: Acadian Oct 13 2011, 01:26 AM

That look on Lildereth’s face is priceless! I think every woman who visits the Skingrad guild has felt the same. I think it’s so much better to give him the Lildereth treatment than to find oneself doing the walk of shame down to sweet rolls at breakfast.

We’ve come to the conclusion that Alval’s ‘bones to ashes’ line is a bunch of imp chips and that he’s all talk. Anymore, he just gets a strong demoralize spell and the sound of Buffy giggling as he runs away. From that look on Jerric’s face though, I wouldn’t be surprised if the Nord turned Alval into a bloody popsicle!

Abiene looks fabulous and just the way I imagine her (when she’s not doing yoga). How neat that you caught that pair of Chorrol dogs in the shot!

What a neat shot of Darnand and Banner! I love how you captured parts of Kvatch in the background.

I took two pictures of Jerric in Hrotanda Vale before I realized that he was wearing the wrong armor the whole time. Oops. Here he is in his http://i1106.photobucket.com/albums/h361/grits29/HrotandaVale.jpg instead of the quieter leather, and here he’s wearing a http://i1106.photobucket.com/albums/h361/grits29/purple.jpg instead of the enchanted Blades helm. Double oops.

I have changed the provenance of that Blackwood Company armor. It’s really the stuff Rasheda made for him. Really. Let’s just call it a “mod.” whistling.gif

Posted by: SubRosa Oct 2 2012, 06:28 PM

His Blackwood cuirass and Blades shield go well together. And he's in a hoodie too. I guess he just cannot help but to be fashionable! biggrin.gif

ROFL !! Works for me! I love the above shot of Jerric, he looks awesome and handsome for a vanilla Nord! You did such a great job on his facegen!

Posted by: King Coin Oct 2 2012, 07:07 PM

I do like that Blackwood armor, never had a character that actually got to wear it though. goodjob.gif

Posted by: Acadian Oct 3 2012, 12:34 AM

Jerric looks fabulous in that 'Blackwood Company' armor! Screw what the game has for that armor's background, go for looks! For example, Buffy loves wearing 'Golden Saint' armor (modified to light armor) - we simply pretend it has nothing to do with that terrible dweeb Sheogorath. laugh.gif

Posted by: Grits Dec 27 2012, 07:17 PM

I can’t remember if I posted these anywhere. They’re from Jerric and Darnand’s Skyrim adventures over Thanksgiving break and perhaps a bit earlier. These are Skyrim, so they’re pictures of my TV.

Jerric went on a pilgrimage to High Hrothgar, though he did not bother the Greybeards. Ulfe decided to head back to Cyrodiil somewhere along the way, possibly due to Darnand’s enthusiastic use of his new Chain Lightning spell. Great if your battlemage friend is blessed by the Atronach, but no fun for your dog. Here Jerric is http://i1106.photobucket.com/albums/h361/grits29/Skyrim%20Jerric/Pilgrimage2_zps094ef02f.jpg.

Jerric took a long time http://i1106.photobucket.com/albums/h361/grits29/Skyrim%20Jerric/Pilgrimage1_zps4e1388ed.jpg. Darnand was very patient. You can see that here Darnand is uncharacteristically attired in plate armor. This is because: 1. He was cold, 2. Frost Trolls, and 3. I forgot what he was hauling around for Jerric.

Here is an old shot from one night http://i1106.photobucket.com/albums/h361/grits29/Skyrim%20Jerric/BeeandBarb3_zpsf91d8966.jpg. Darnand is without headwear and so looks very much like an Imperial. tongue.gif Jerric is feeling blue here. The hot Dibellan at the other pub kicked him out without so much as a peek or a squeeze, and the Black Briar mead is not as good as everyone makes it out to be.

Jerric is an amenable tourist. On the way up to Solitude a guard told him to be sure he stopped and checked out the view. http://i1106.photobucket.com/albums/h361/grits29/Skyrim%20Jerric/ViewingtheMarsh1_zps29e6e53b.jpg.

Traveling off-road in Skyrim is nothing like in Cyrodiil. Jerric has a flawless sense of direction, but he is not familiar with mountainous terrain. Darnand loves his maps and sometimes fails to look up and see that there is no way they can actually get up/down there. (They don’t have horses.) Since neither of them is inclined to ask directions, they sometimes go astray. Like here Jerric insisted that they follow the river. Now they can see their destination at the base of a very long waterfall. Here Darnand is grinding his teeth loudly enough to be heard over the river, and Jerric is ignoring him. http://i1106.photobucket.com/albums/h361/grits29/Skyrim%20Jerric/WrongEndoftheWaterfall.jpg.

Here the fellows discover http://i1106.photobucket.com/albums/h361/grits29/Skyrim%20Jerric/NoKhajiitorWoodElves_zps1a074b9b.jpg, this one far more agreeable. Jerric lives in the hope of finding a friendly, skinny-dipping Khajiit or Bosmer, suitably protected by frost charms of course. No joy at this pool. I’m sure he’ll keep looking.

The Bannered Mare in Whiterun has become another home between adventures. Uthgerd’s house is comfortable, but both of them like a break from Jerric’s cooking while they’re in town. Here’s a http://i1106.photobucket.com/albums/h361/grits29/Skyrim%20Jerric/QuietAfternoonattheMare.jpg.

Later it got more lively. (And Darnand noticed that they were wearing practically the same outfit, so he made Jerric change.) Many of us have heard Carlotta complain about getting too much attention from men. Here she is talking to Jerric. Now when she stands right there, http://i1106.photobucket.com/albums/h361/grits29/Skyrim%20Jerric/BanneredMareCarlotta_zps414d56f9.jpg?

These are great Grits! Love the little stories behind the pictures. If Jerric is looking for a certain Khajiit in the water, he needs to venture a little farther from the road. tongue.gif

Love the shot of Jerric at the Bannered Mare. laugh.gif

Posted by: SubRosa Dec 27 2012, 07:59 PM

So nice to see Jerric and Darnit Darnand again. You should get Skyrim on the PC, that way you can make a full Darny companion for J.

So strange to see Jerric with a beard after all those Oblivion pics! He looks like an older and wiser Nord now. But I see his waterfall pool searching shows that he is still the same fun-loving fellow at heart. Perhaps he should look in Eastmarch, I hear the hot springs are very inviting... wink.gif

Ha! Carlotta has all her wares out on display? Maybe Jerric would like a couple of gourds? Or perhaps some honeydews? biggrin.gif

Posted by: Acadian Dec 27 2012, 11:04 PM

What a delightfully entertaining look into life in Skyrim for Jerric and Darnand! I love Jerric’s more rugged look, but the same old Jerric personality shines through – waterfalls, cleavage, food and drink! I chuckled at your description of their navigational challenges in the mountains. tongue.gif

Posted by: mALX Jan 1 2013, 03:57 AM

GAAAH! Jerric grew a beard! Great screens, especially for being off a TV !!!

Posted by: Grits Mar 26 2013, 07:55 PM

I took another picture of my TV. Here’s http://imgur.com/S8UEAtC.

Cyrodiil feels a little lonely compared to the camaraderie (and mayhem) of followers in Skyrim, so he’s still running around with Erthor. Spell Tomes are his newest discovery. He finally went into a fort looking for Nerussa’s wine and found two tomes. Now he wants to know if there’s one hidden in every fort. hehe.gif

You did an amazing job of his Facegen for an XBox 360! Awesome shot!

Darnand has made his way to the Wobbly Goblet in his game. smile.gif He’s the first one of mine to bring along his horse. More company for Sapphire!

Here’s their arrival: http://i.imgur.com/1dxS7UP.jpg. Another lovely evening sky.

Once inside the inn Darnand went straight up to check out http://i.imgur.com/d4fEBEC.jpg.

Then he found some space in the upstairs suite and http://i.imgur.com/71gtVpJ.jpg. Darnand has no respect for beautiful decorating. He moved the lovely silver pieces from the side table and set up his grubby alchemy gear.

I thought that he and Jerric would each sleep in the upstairs big bed in their individual games, but no. Darnand has taken over the player bedroom that holds the suite’s door. As far away as possible from where the Nord sleeps. I guess he got his fill of being roommates in Skyrim!

Posted by: Acadian Jun 5 2013, 04:14 PM

Great shots of Darnand!

It's so neat how each character goes straight to what's important to them at the Goblet. Lil (and Buffy) pause on a bench under the trees to rest a bit from traveling, then head inside for the fireplace to warm their small limbs and thin Bosmeri blood. Darnand goes straight upstairs to scope out the bookshelves, then breaks out the alchemy gear. And Jerric, of course, makes a beeline for the Nord triplets and ale kegs! tongue.gif

Posted by: ghastley Jun 5 2013, 04:28 PM

Clark confesses to greeting the triplets, too. His excuse is that mALX had told him about the laryngitis that was preventing them from being heard.

Unlike Jerric, he's a wine man, and was concerned that they were hiding away the Tamika's and putting out more of the Surilie Brothers product. Not that there's anything wrong with that, but he does have his preferences, completely uninfluenced by Tamika being a woman.

Posted by: SubRosa Jun 5 2013, 06:16 PM

Darnit is certainly moving in! Books, and alchemy equipment. He's really making himself at home, that is for sure!

Posted by: mALX Jun 5 2013, 08:32 PM

WOO HOO, Darnand! These are great shots, and I love that his alchemy equipment is up already! The Inn has thousands of books for him to read, I was seriously thinking about weeding some of them out to lower the mod's load, lol.

Which version of the mod are you using? I need to get in there and level up that stables if it is 1.3 - it is kind of tilted down, Buffy had trouble riding out of it in version 1.2

I'll check it out before releasing version 1.4 = I have added the sound of the Priory bells in the distance, 3 butterflies (around the benches and in the garden); and a few ambient sounds I found on the internet. I added a sheep ken in the corral plus two sheep (Daisy and Petunia, who will also follow someone with an apple in their inventory).

Posted by: Grits Jun 5 2013, 10:17 PM

You’re so right, Acadian! Each time one of them got there it was a new experience for me.

Many thanks to Clark for helping the ladies with their laryngitis. We might accuse him of giving them some of Pelena’s moaner potion if they still couldn’t speak. tongue.gif

Rosa, if he could only remember where he left the rest of his stuff we’d be in great shape. wacko.gif My characters who live on the laptop don’t get out much!

mALX, it’s the first version with ghastley’s sign over the door, so I think it’s 1.2. There’s no sign by the road in this version. Your new additions sound great! Butterflies and sheep, yay! I just love the idea of hearing the chapel bells. Thank you so much! happy.gif

Yesterday my birds tweaked just perfectly - but then kept going and going, even though they aren't set to loop; and nothing else played. I think that is an issue with my script's timer setting, so I spent yesterday reading up on how to set them for sounds and then DL'd a bunch of mods with sound files and timers to see how they did it. Still working on the belltower ringing, but will update the mod instantly when I get it working.

You asked a question on a different thread, I'll find it - I would not load your stuff in before changing ESP's just for safety's sake. It shouldn't effect it, but I wouldn't take the chance on that if I were you. I will hurry, just give me another day and I should have the belltower issue worked out. I'll disconnect the sounds to the sheep ken and horse stable and just get the belltower going and upload it quickly for you. I'm sorry is taking so long.

Posted by: Grits Jun 7 2013, 11:02 PM

Oh, don't hurry! My crew just has what they were carrying in their inventory, they don't need to move in right away. I was just checking so I didn't make a mistake. I'm actually not even sure where Darnand left the rest of his stuff. Probably in Anvil.

You are doing a huge amount of work on this mod, and I am so appreciative! I sure don't want to sound impatient. embarrased.gif

Jerric screenies! Hooray!! Felt bad I didn't get here sooner. Always good seeing Jerric, Darnard, Abiene and their many faces.

Jerric casting frost in a cave- A man ready for Sovngarde! Love the glow from the frost spell here! And the sword, too.

Darnand in the Anvil guild hall-Looking good Darnard! Looking good!

Abiene and Carahil. I think I need to make Abiene’s face thinner, with a longer nose- She looks fine here!

Abiene and Anvil mages- So . . .this is Abiene, huh? She's cute, despite her descriptions saying she isn't much to look at.

Lildereth cuts a deal with Morvayn-What deal is this, I wonder?

I love http://i1106.photobucket.com/albums/h361/grits29/Abiene-1.jpg.

So simple, yet she still pretty. Most women we encounter in Cyrodiil are well, less-than-stellar. smile.gif

You'll turn my bones to ash? Let's see it.

Here’s Abiene in Chorrol.

Has Jerric been making friends again? laugh.gif

Heh. What a Nord! I noticed in Skyrim most of the friends we make are after we beat the pulp out of them in a tavern brawl.

Thanks, DE! smile.gif

The mods I added last week changed everyone’s face a little. Abiene and Darnand don’t need any adjustments, but Lildereth and Jerric are still in low-light condition.

Wow, Grits! Everyone looks so good! Beautiful work and I'm so glad to see you happily working with some mods now!

I love the slight flush in Jerric's face - as if he's just finished a flagon of ale. Abiene's complexion looks as creamily flawless as I would imagine, and the angle on Lil's arched eyebrows is perfect for her. Darnand does look a tad younger than I would imagine but perhaps the lack of worry lines on his forehead explains some of his occasionally ill-advised choices. biggrin.gif

Posted by: SubRosa Jul 17 2013, 07:48 PM

Their skin does look a lot smoother (which is to say, no more vanilla texture blotchiness) now. They do all look younger too thanks to that. Abiene seems the most different. Did you change her slider settings? Her face looks longer than before, though it still has that heart-shape. Maybe it is just the angle.

Posted by: Grits Jul 17 2013, 08:49 PM

Thanks folks!

Lol, Acadian. Darnand does look like he might need a babysitter. tongue.gif

Abiene is completely the same apart from the new skin, so I’m guessing it’s the angle. I gave her a long nose and narrower face after her first look. She looked too robust at first, and with the new-character scowl she looked like she was always about to punch someone. I gave the other three new eye colors but their sliders are all the same (for now). Funnily enough no one wanted new hair!

I played around with Kjestrid’s face and it was a disaster. Ugh. She may get a completely new face.

Posted by: mALX Jul 17 2013, 09:56 PM

Lildereth looks stunning! Darnand does look younger, and handsome. I nearly choked when I read "Darnand needs a babysitter" though, lol.

Have to agree with Acadian on this, Jerric looks like a few steins of ale have passed right before taking the screenshot, lol.

Abiene looks mostly the same to me, but better textures? Really nice, what mod is it?

Great shots, all !!!

Posted by: Grits Jul 18 2013, 11:53 AM

Thanks, mALX! It’s High Resolution Faces for Roberts Male and Female plus Elaborate Eyes Merged With Coolsims Hair. (Though we won’t see the fancy hairdos until someone has a party. tongue.gif ) Abiene still has her vanilla brown eyes. The Elaborate dark brown ones looked like little pits of hell in her face. Not very Abiene.

Posted by: King Coin Jul 18 2013, 02:08 PM

I the one that is most noticeably different is Jerric. (to me)

Darnand may look a tad younger.

Posted by: Grits Jul 18 2013, 05:19 PM

He's the most different to me too, KC. The old lumpy skin gave him much rounder cheeks and jaw.

Here's one in honor of Buffy, who is an inspiration in so many ways. Some of those inspirations work out better than others.

KC, you and Darnand are in agreement. Though it’s doubtful there will be anything left inside the vat by the time the Nord gets tired, Darnand will still be ordering ale.

Lildereth tried out our new time scale (I forget what it is. Maybe 15? But we like it.) on a walk to Cheydinhal. It was a http://i.imgur.com/RIPmO62.jpg. She likes to go over the hills and then pick up the road before it gets steep.

I mentioned in Buffy’s Potpourri that we’re looking for a way to help her out with some of the new critters. SubRosa, your Witchcraft mod was the first one I searched but sadly I don’t have Shivering Isles (yet).

She doesn’t want a constant companion, but she can’t summon daedra (RP restriction) and prefers not to summon undead.

Funnily enough she seems to like our first solution, at least so far. Here are her http://i.imgur.com/XUqaulW.jpg

They are vampire bats. I imagine that they’re intended as companions for evil or vampiric characters. Lil thinks they’re cute. Of course she won’t call them to her during the day, but they might be just the thing for those difficult dungeon incidents we’ve been having.

Posted by: mALX Aug 4 2013, 05:27 PM

Oh, is that the same ones you suggested for Ghastley's mod? They are bigger than I thought they would be, can they fight to defend the player? Awesome screen, I like the way Lil is looking up at it!

Posted by: Acadian Aug 4 2013, 05:46 PM

Lildereth looks so at peace and like she belongs in that tall grass overlooking the IC! I'm guessing that is one of Maigrets' bats? She makes fabulous critter companion mods but, as you know, you have to find a place to tell them to wait, can summon them to you but can't unsummon them.

As you surmise, SubRosa's Witchcraft mod might be superb if you had the SI. Her summonables are available (once you learn the spells) for custom spellmaking at the altar. If you get the chance, SI is a great addition all on its own just for the wonderful exploration and change of pace from Cyrodiil.

Another possibility for a basic summon that is neither Daedra nor undead would be summon black bear. The effect is already in the game (for spriggans). It can be made available to players from a variety of mods (can't recall any specifically) and also via the Spell Tomes DLC.

At any rate, thanks for those fabulous shots of our sister mystic archer! happy.gif

That is a gorgeous day! I love the greenery, and I do believe Lil borrowed Aela's outfit! laugh.gif

Too bad about SI. You should get it. It must be dirt cheap these days. I did a quick search on Amazon.com, and found the http://www.amazon.com/ELDER-SCROLLS-IV-OBLIVION-ANNIV/dp/B00B8KBHBM/ref=sr_1_2?m=AGYUU318PHJM6&s=merchant-items&ie=UTF8&qid=1375641423&sr=1-2&keywords=shivering+isles for $9. I saw some used GOTY editions for $14. If you have a 64-bit version of Windows you will problems with installing the DLC though. There are solutions http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Oblivion:Official_Plug-ins#Installation_Issues. I simply installed the dlcs on my XP computer and copied the files over to my Windows 7 box. I have the GOTY edition and as I recall Shivering Isles and KOTN installed just fine though. I believe it was only the 'little' dlcs that had that issue on my Windows 7 computer. It is because they do not come as loose files, but are bundled inside an executable that copies them to your Oblivion folder. For some reason that .exe chokes on 64-bit systems.

I got the magic effects for my Witchcraft summonings from SI, so I would not have to remove anything from the original game (sadly, unlike in Skyrim you cannot create brand new magic effects in Oblivion) sad.gif.

Love that bat too! Is that one of Mr. Siika's? I would name it Bruce.

Posted by: Darkness Eternal Sep 3 2013, 07:41 PM

Gorgeous day is gorgeous. A good view of the Imperial City and a wonderful day! I am really digging the bat companion here! I agree it could help in those dark caves! I love the young faces of Jerric, Lildereth, Darnand and of course Abiene! Lildereth has those wide eyes that spook me. Abiene looks as sweet as a dove. I'm really digging Jerric's look. He appears your typical Nord with blond hair and eyes but with wonderfully highlighted attributes. Darnand looks great and has that "wise" mage quality about him. Love it.

Posted by: Grits Sep 3 2013, 08:30 PM

mALX, yes they fight to defend Lil while she runs away. hehe.gif She only summons them underground when she’s really getting hurt or occasionally on a nice night so she can enjoy their company. They’re pretty awesome.

Acadian, you guess correctly, those are Maigret’s vampire bats. They are the only ones of her critters that I’ve tried that do unsummon themselves after a short time (60 seconds) like a traditional spell rather than a companion. That’s a big part of why they are such a good fit for Lil. Plus to me they have a real tropical rainforest vibe (biologists love bats, lol), and that’s also very Lildereth. I expect eventually she’ll summon spriggans thanks to Rosa’s fabulous Witchcraft mod. Thank you for the encouragement that finally got me to grab up SI!

SubRosa, those are indeed Mr. Siika’s bats via Maigret’s mod. There are three of the little (big if you’re a Bosmer) sweeties. I’m sure there’s a story percolating in my brain about how Lil goes batty, but it’s not ready yet. biggrin.gif I did get SI for your Witchcraft mod, thank you for the encouragement. I think Kanet will be the first to venture into the Isles, but I got it so that they all could meet Morcant.

Thanks, DE! The bats are adorable. They make cute bat noises and use some kind of spell with a red effect in their attacks. Lil loves them, especially with some of the new monster surprises we've had lately. ohmy.gif

Jerric is definitely looking like Jerric. I like the Skyrim version of him much better. The beard really puts it over. But so does the whole more mature look. The Oblivion pics are like his high school yearbook. The Skyrim ones his grown-up shots.

It's good to see Valdi! Are you actually playing her, or did you just create her to take pics? (I do that a lot for characters from my fics). Her hair looks modded, and I am wondering if the muscles on her arms are from the UNP Fitness Body?

Posted by: Grits Sep 19 2013, 07:30 PM

mALX, it’s hard for me to say what comes from where, since some things are overwritten by others and I suspect that some files that I installed over previous ones are actually the same files used in a different mod. But here’s the general list:

ApachiiSkyhair: http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/10168

No More Blocky Faces: http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/30 (which is largely overwritten but still works on the men)

Natural Eyes: http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/3589

Coverwomen (Look #4): http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/3563

Eyebrows Match Hair (1.1): http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/627

DIMONIZED UNP female body (just search on Nexus, the link gives you two beavers right in the face so I didn’t want to post it tongue.gif ). I used the Main base but like with Coverwomen I’m not really sure exactly which files are left in Valdi. I used different normal maps and skin textures for my characters. From…

Mature skin texture and body for UNP CBBE ADEC, again the link is boobilicious so just search for it. I used the 'clean with moles, no scars' version.

I think that’s everything but I’ll dig around a little later and make sure. Thank, mALX! smile.gif

Rosa, I loved the UNP fitness body but Valdi’s arm muscles (I think) are from the Mature Skin and Body normal maps in the above mod. Of course I could be talking utter nonsense, but the arms changed a lot when I swapped out the files. I started with the Mature skin texture over UNP Fitness body and they looked too smooth for me. Awesome abs, though. Wow. Hair by Apachii.

We are in complete agreement about Oblivion and Skyrim Jerrics. The beard mods for Oblivion just don't work for me, though. I think of OB Jerric as the teen version. Like fifteen, lol.

I am playing Valdi. Funnily enough I started out making an avatar of ME in Skyrim (I am not actually a tree), but then it turned into Valdi instead. And now she wants to play! That was supposed to be MY curly hair (but blonde)! Pfft. Nords.

It can be really tough to keep track of what comes from where. You have to crack open the .rar files of each individual mod and compare which ones have the same names, and be sure to install them in the right order so that the ones you want overwrite the files of the others. For example, Coverwomen installs femalehead.dds, femalehead_msn.dds, and femalehead_s.dds. Women of Skyrim installs femalehead_msn.dds. So you have to install it after Coverwomen, or it does nothing at all. I have a long, convoluted list in the Skyrim Pics thread of how I went about that. I suspect that No More Blocky Faces is being completely overwritten by Coverwomen. But since you are not using anything for men, it still works there. You might look at Better Males for them, its a newer mod and does a lot more.

Maybe we should start a topic just for what body and face mods we use, and it what order? It might actually prove useful for people trying to figure out what they want to use, and what order.

Mature skin texture and body for UNP CBBE ADEC, again the link is boobilicious so just search for it. I used the 'clean with moles, no scars' version.

I think that’s everything but I’ll dig around a little later and make sure. Thank, mALX! smile.gif

Pfft. Nords.

I love those abs in the Fitness Body too. I wish we could use mods IRL! laugh.gif

I thought Rowan was your tree character? wink.gif

Maybe we should start a topic just for what body and face mods we use, and it what order? It might actually prove useful for people trying to figure out what they want to use, and what order.

** copying above conversations for easy reference!

Thank you, both Grits and SubRosa! SubRosa - that explanation made it a lot clearer in my mind on how/what/why to juggle them - like a lightbulb went on!

Grits - Jerric was fifteen in Oblivion? GAAAAAH! No way, not from everything he did there, lol.

SubRosa thank you, the new thread is a great idea. I’ll head over there before I forget what I’ve just done. wacko.gif

Thank you so much, Acadian! Hug_emoticon.gif I’m sweating the details a little too much, lol. Of course the Nord himself is not overly concerned. tongue.gif

LOL, Jerric turns thirty during the Oblivion crises in his story. I was just saying that his Oblivion game look more represents his mid-teen years (at the time of his Sandrine mishap in Kvatch), while his Skyrim look is much closer to his appearance (and age) in the story.

Not sure if this has always been on the complexion slider and I never got past the wrinkle setting or if it's a setting added by a mod. http://i.imgur.com/IuvGSiZ.jpg.

I finally found a mod (I think) that lets you summon spectral animals. And so finally, http://i.imgur.com/ueJC6eK.png.

I remember that girl had freckles in the story - I like them, nice mod!

Posted by: SubRosa Sep 20 2013, 08:01 PM

Yay for Skyrim Lil, and her golden eyes! Looks like the Roadstokers Outfit migrated north with her. laugh.gif

Yay for Valdi too! Those freckles were always there, past the *yikes I'm really old* option. There is even a mod for freckles out there too. I think Xenius did it.

I wish they had more options for the age sliders, like they did in Oblivion. It seems in Skyrim everyone is either 20 or 60, with no room in between.

Valdi and Lil are gorgeous!

Posted by: King Coin Sep 21 2013, 01:45 AM

Very happy to see Lil there. I remember you saying you had some trouble bringing her to Skyrim a while back. What changed?

Posted by: Grits Sep 21 2013, 02:07 PM

Thanks, mALX! Valdi has a lot of spirit. smile.gif

SubRosa, the Roadstroker’s outfit was one of Lil’s requirements, lol. I couldn’t find a UNP conversion so there’s a bad seam at the neck, but now she has a necklace that at least distracts the eye. I’m resisting the snowball effect that happens when you decide to change one small thing. tongue.gif My first solution was a craftable leather collar that hit exactly the right spot, but when she put it on I discovered that it was as advertised a dog collar. D’oh!! Late night downloading is a mistake. I just love Natural Eyes. Jerric has squinty eyes, so he doesn’t show them off very well. Eyes were another Lil requirement.

I agree about the wrinkles. That’s why I jumped through hoops with the male Nord face. It’s not easy to hit a weathered age 40. I guess I never saw the freckles even after so many characters because if the first two sliders are “decrepit” and “ancient,” then I figured the last two must be “diseased” and “draugr.” ohmy.gif

Thanks, Elisabeth! I had a very specific look in mind for Lildereth, and so far it’s definitely her. She looks somewhat angry and unapproachable in the game, lol. I made her the same height as Breton women, so she kind of glares up at everyone. (Head tracking mod, yay.)

KC, thanks! It’s been quite a journey for Lildereth. Waaay back in the early unpatched disaster era I brought Lil in as one of my first characters. She made it as far as Riverwood and literally quit right in front of my eyes. The height for Bosmer women was very messed up, and standing next to Alvor she looked like a towering, scrawny stick insect. She was taller than the Nord men! Plus she hated her clumpy “Nord hair,” and the vanilla Bosmer eyes… Well, it would be quicker to say that everything was wrong. Mods made the difference. I’m going to try the spectral animal summonings for her as soon as she gets to that level (around 2016, lol). She won’t survive in Skyrim without some backup, and she was not going to start summoning daedra. Oh, remember when I said I was sick as a dog after playing on the laptop for the first time? Unofficial patch solved the problem. As far as I can tell it was a mouse issue. All better now. smile.gif

You can fix the item name very easily with the Creation Kit. It is just one field where you can type in anything you want. Like "Darnand's sexy bitch's collar", or whatever you feel is more appropriate. wink.gif Or just go the other route, ditch the Roadstroker outfit, and kit her out with some hot bdsm gear biggrin.gif

Edit: I tried the Sky version of the Roadstroker outfit. I see what you mean about the neck. That is not a seam, its a crack! I wound up deleting it. Not because of that though. It was the way there are twenty different versions of the outfit all with the same name, and no real explanation of what the difference is between them. I would have to do a lot of modding to put in the basic things like descriptions that it should have come with to begin with. I just don't have the patience to do that with something that is broken as well.

btw. I just uploaded an updated version of Skyrim Nature Summoning, that makes the potent and guardian animals more powerful, and changes the potent bear to have a snow bear skin.

Wait, are you saying that is Lildereth? GAAAAAH!!!! I didn't know that, didn't make the connection! She is stunning!

Yes, that's Lildereth. Thanks, mALX! smile.gif

Here's a picture of Jerric's http://i.imgur.com/vp3JgQV.jpg. It's a lot like his Running Wolf uniform from the story, only it's weathered iron instead of shiny steel.

SubRosa, I grabbed your Nature Summoning for Lil. Very exciting!! She's not in Whiterun yet, but she'll really need it. I was rolling over "Darnand's Sexy Bitch" collar. I'm keeping the files in case I can figure out (and am allowed) to turn it into a black ribbon instead of a vinyl dog collar. Otherwise, yikes. Luckily it wan't Abiene who made that discovery. She might have had me looking for a harness to go with it.

Posted by: SubRosa Sep 23 2013, 02:26 AM

Jerric's new armor looks very practical and well-worn. I like the mail sleeves.

Lildreth might be willing to try http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/7109 in lieu of the neck-cracking Roadstroker outfit. I cannot remember if there was a green version in the original, but http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/14913 is black and green, and practical for woodsy-wear. I downloaded it a long time ago, and have been keeping it around for just the right character.

I love the armor, just have trouble envisioning this as Jerric, lol. This must be when he is over 58 or something, lol.

Jerric's armor does look great. It really fits the environment. smile.gif

Posted by: Grits Sep 26 2013, 02:33 AM

Thanks, folks! I still adore that armor. smile.gif

Lil found something else to wear, so I got rid of the Roadstroker outfit and the jewelry that she needed to go with it. What a relief, now the forge has about 200 fewer items.

Here's the latest of the crew to make the trip north: http://i.imgur.com/ekpCrZ0.png.

So what is Lildreth's new replacement outfit? Does it have things that strap on? wink.gif Inquiring minds want to know!

Posted by: Grits Sep 26 2013, 02:57 AM

Thanks, KC! She's a keeper. Darnand still needs some work. smile.gif

SubRosa, lol! I got http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/38057 for her to try, and it's really beautiful on her. The issue is that she's a non-armor girl, so while she'll maybe wear it in a dungeon it was a no-go for woods wear.

When we were checking the forge to enjoy the empty menus she saw some light armor from Immersive Armors. She's wearing that now! It's mostly hide with a few plates, but what a change for Lil.

Abiene is pissed about her hair. She is supposed to have Apachii's really curly hair style, but Valdi and Skyrim Grits (I forget what I named her, Selka maybe?) already have it. There was a style with a braid across the front that I really liked, but no. Well, maybe. I'm sure that every time I load her game I'm going to have to change her hairstyle.

Posted by: Acadian Sep 26 2013, 03:27 AM

Wonderful to see Abiene has joined her Nord of the North! Can't wait to see how Darnand holds up after he makes the trip.

And new rangerish armor for Lil! Did you say she might have to change armors sometimes? Pshawww! 24 outfits ought to easily cover a full day of adventuring. What good is that big lug Jerric if he can't haul around a couple dozen size 2 elven outfits? tongue.gif

Posted by: mALX Sep 26 2013, 03:46 AM

Abiene looks so sad in that screen, and hungry. She was kind of round cheeked in Oblivion. LOVE the long skirt on that armor, that is gorgeous!

Posted by: King Coin Sep 26 2013, 05:36 AM

That is some wonderful armor. Does she use the mask?

I found another set that I liked a lot except the modder put the Jaeger Meister brand symbol on it. Uhhh no....

Posted by: Grits Sep 26 2013, 01:50 PM

Lol, Acadian. It’s true Lil’s whole wardrobe weighs about as much as Jerric’s lunch box. tongue.gif

Abiene definitely looks sad in Skyrim, and she’s probably cold. She’s a long way from Anvil or Leyawiin! Maybe she’ll make some friends in Whiterun. She hasn’t been out of the house yet. And perhaps a Nord will show up soon and feed her, lol. Abiene is not much of a cook.

Lil hasn’t actually worn that armor for real yet, so I’m not sure how she’ll wear it. If she’s somewhere cold she will probably wear the mask. Of course if she’s somewhere cold she might have a completely different bunch of furs that she likes, plus she might not want to look that dark against snow. It’s hard to guess with her. A Jaeger Meister logo? Just the deer in the circle might be nice, but no thanks on the rest!

That Falls Church Kreath armor looks excellent for a woodsy type. Though needing the Dragon Smithing perk to make it is a bit of a turn-off! This is why I almost always have to mod the mods I download (which I am doing right now). I'll make it craftable under leather, with the same stats).

So now Lil is not even wearing it though. Instead she's got a fur bikini! You need to post pics of that! laugh.gif

There are some white retextures of the Nightingale Armor. Just make it craftable (or I could send you my mod that does), and she could wear that in the snow. It worked pretty well as winter camo for a few of my characters.

Posted by: Grits Sep 26 2013, 03:07 PM

She'll never be able to craft it, but it's for sale in the Falkreath store. I'm pretty sure it's way more gold than she has right now, which is why I had her try it out and then not save the game (if I'm remembering right). She'll have to work to actually get it to keep.

I remember that white Nightengale armor, that looked awesome! I'm going to see how she likes some of the white fur capes and hoods she can craft from pelts, but I may be asking for your snow camo mod for her to craft that. Thank you very much for the offer! She needs a little game time so I can see how she does in Skyrim. She may never want to go where it's snowy.

Next time I have a chance I'll get some shots of her in the bikini armor. It's topless on guys. I'm sure eventually there will be a Nord wearing it. tongue.gif

I downloaded that Fallkreath armor. Maybe later today after work I'll have to time to edit it and give it the stats of leather armor and craftable as leather. I could send it to you instead of/and the nightingale mods.

Posted by: Darkness Eternal Sep 26 2013, 06:59 PM

Oh Jerric looks nice in the new armor and he looks older than his Oblivion days. Now Abiene. Wow. She looks beautiful! I mean compared to her Oblivion version and her description of being average in appearance, she's cute though she looks a bit sad, just as you said.

Long way from Cyrodiil indeed. Great images, Grits. I envy you modders.

Posted by: SubRosa Sep 26 2013, 07:35 PM

I fixed that Falkreath Ranger Armor, giving it the same stats as Leather and craftable under Leather as well. I also fixed some things that were broken, such as the construction of the enchanted cuirass actually made an unenchanted one! Plus there were some dirty edits for no apparent reason outside of Falkreath and Windhelm, and a chest that was never used anywhere.

I also noticed that it is basically just a retexture/remesh of the Thieves Guild Armor, though the tree symbols look nice on it. The cape clips with Hervor's hair, and her feet stick through it every time she walks. So if I ever use it, it will probably be capeless.

PM me if you want me to email it to you.

Thanks, DE! I’m glad you like Abiene’s Skyrim look. It’s very close to how I imagine her. I’m using a cheap laptop to play Oblivion and Skyrim with limited mods. (Keeping my older games on the consoles of course.) It’s not ideal but certainly possible.

Thanks to SubRosa’s generosity I am able to reveal Skyrim http://i.imgur.com/xNAN8XU.png Lil! biggrin.gif I love it, she loves it, we’re off adventuring. She’s skipping the cape for now due to it being kind of big, and the skirt part seemed to break up her outline well enough without it. The hood and hood + mask look great, but she likes to show off her hair for pictures. (I also checked out the white Nightengale gear with her, but no pictures until it’s snowy. Lil’s request.)

Also here’s the http://i.imgur.com/vHuCuxZ.png that she still likes, and the http://i.imgur.com/hrV6911.png that we shall call “No Fetching Way.” (Her words.) I think it’s called Barbarian but I may have it switched with Mercenary in my mind. Anyway she would like her warm weather tiny shreds of hide and fur without metal, so we’ll see what we find. There’s a lot out there that we haven’t seen yet.

While in Dead Man’s Drink Lil had another chat with the handsome http://i.imgur.com/4vEcqc6.png (from SubRosa’s Nature Summoning mod). She’s still calling on her Improved Familiar (thank you again, Rosa!), but now she’ll be ready for a stronger ally when the time comes.

Posted by: Acadian Sep 27 2013, 05:55 PM

I can see why Lil likes that ranger armor - it's perfect for her. I know there is not so much green in Skyrim, but I'm sure the Valenwood elf appreciates some in her attire. The merc gear also looks nice of course, but I see why she prefers the ranger outfit. The 'kini shot looks a tiny bit like a furless picture of dear Aravi! tongue.gif

I surely hope Jerric has given Lil a ring of resist frost to help compensate for that thin wood elven blood.

But Lil looks good in the fur bikini! biggrin.gif Most of my characters would say “No Fetching Way” to that as well. Except maybe Mielikki. It gets so hot in Skyrim after all, she has a hard time staying cool in the blistering heat. wink.gif

Lil is looking good with her new green ranger gear though! I am glad I was able to help. I have so much fun dressing up my own characters, how can I resist dressing up other people's as well? Just let me know if you would like me to send you any of my other unuploaded mods. Most of them are very small, doing just one little thing. Like the Better Magic one that increases the magicka regen rate in combat, and makes dual-casting cost less but do more.

btw, Grimassi is based upon http://www.ravengrimassi.net/bio.htm.

Posted by: King Coin Sep 29 2013, 01:55 AM

Love the Ranger picture. DO NOT mess with Lil! She looks like a big ugly Nord just hit on her.

The next two outfits don’t seem to suit her as well. The iron bikini (lol) looks better on Aravi. I do like the toned look you went with Lil though. She looks like she can kick ass as much as we know she can.

Posted by: Grits Sep 29 2013, 04:21 AM

Lil has taken to the ranger armor and dumped the rest. I think you’re right, the green is a comfort in a big land. I’m not sure it will ever be warm enough to get her to show some skin, maybe in the hot springs. tongue.gif Jerric offers a personal warming service to north-bound wood elven lasses, but Lil is still hoping for a toe ring!

Rosa, your list of unuploaded mods makes me drool. You’ve made so many small adjustments that make a big difference. I’m going to take you up on that offer, thank you! I’m getting to the end of mods I want to try so I’ll soon know what needs to be fine-tuned. And I just made a mod of my own. biggrin.gif

KC, Lil still has a grumpy face. She’s traveling with Faendal to avoid sudden death, and the two of them do not like each other. It’s hilarious to see them both with their Bosmer scowls. Pretty soon I’ll have a solution for her, though. Yeah, that iron bikini was not going to happen! laugh.gif I love how what’s awesome on one character often just does not suit another. They're all such individuals.

My friends, thank you for indulging my glee as I bring my crew to Skyrim. Today was a banner day. happy.gif

On the iron bikini: I think it looks alright on Aravi because she has fur. She doesn't look quite as bare even though she is.

Posted by: Acadian Sep 29 2013, 12:58 PM

I'm glad Lil settled on that ranger outfit. It suits her well.

I'm quite tickled at your 'glee'; in fact I confess to sharing some of it with you as I see Darnand finally join the Northern crew. You did a simply fabulous job with him. I can almost see him reaching into his pack for a book. tongue.gif

I kind of agree on the kini in Skyrim. I think it works for those lucky enough to sport their own fur like Aravi, and maybe Nordic women, ice elves and undead ladies, but not so much for a woodster. Even Buffy dresses down to a kini only where it's quite warm.

Posted by: Grits Dec 1 2013, 03:49 AM

KC, I never answered you about the camp site mod! Sorry. embarrased.gif I’m using http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/10824/?tab=1&navtag=%2Fajax%2Fmoddescription%2F%3Fid%3D10824%26preview%3D&pUp=1. It’s very basic.

Jerric has finally worn the same armor long enough for me to consider http://i.imgur.com/dQHMIHc.png his favorite. That shield is the Tower of the Nine that I made for him out of a Blades shield. It was the closest I could find to the Oblivion ancient Akaviri design. He carries a different sword every time he goes outside, or should I say swords. That has not changed!

Of course as soon as I found enough light to take a picture (it’s been rainy, he was in Falkreath), he was given http://i.imgur.com/QAginUO.png and the title that goes with it. I forgot the helm, but it’s a closed helm (yay!) the steel plate one with some gold on it. He doesn’t want to scratch it up by crawling through a ruin in it, but I’m sure he’ll wear it when the occasion is right. He was very honored by the gesture.

As much as he may like the shiny one, I do think the more basic looking one is much more suitable to Jerric's personality. smile.gif

Posted by: SubRosa Dec 1 2013, 05:27 AM

I remember Jerric's tried and true dungeoning armor. It looks very everyday usable. I do not recall ever seeing the second set before in the game? Obviously it is Steel Plate, but I do not recall the markings, or coloration. Is it something from Helgen Reborn?

Posted by: Grits Dec 1 2013, 03:14 PM

Yep, that plate is from Helgen Reborn. It’s kind of a uniform, so wearing it gives him that old feeling of belonging somewhere. Which the way his life has gone means the whole town will get destroyed again and everyone but him will die, but hopefully that’s not what the mod author has in mind!! ohmy.gif

The everyday usable look is what appeals to him about the iron. He does not want to be called a hero every time he walks past a guard. He just wants a regular life.

We also tried this http://i.imgur.com/8P1FFKM.png for a while, and while http://i.imgur.com/p7PU1l7.png so much it just wasn’t for Jerric. Even after I knocked down the ridiculously powerful enchantments. I think it had a keyword somewhere that made people remark on it constantly. Sigh.

Posted by: King Coin Dec 1 2013, 03:44 PM

It definitely gives a look that says battlemage. I would think that the robes should be under the armor, not on top!

Posted by: Acadian Dec 1 2013, 09:49 PM

Gosh, those armors look delish! I kind of like the shiny one - in part because I'm a fan of pauldrons. Oh, and I love the mysteriousness of closed faced helms! The robed armor also looks very neat. I agree with KC that it looks very battlemagish, but I rather like the robe on the outside. If you wore it inside, it'd be like any other sweaty undertunic. tongue.gif

Posted by: Darkness Eternal Dec 1 2013, 10:27 PM

Wow, Grits. Those are some cool-looking armor. The robes steel-plate armor looks great on our Nord hero. I have to agree with Acadian on close-faced helms. We all enjoy our mysterious helmeted and fully armored heroes going into battle leaving people wondering who the hell is behind that helmet?

http://i.imgur.com/4vEcqc6.png robe here is just awesome. I wish I had mods. I could totally see Raven wearing something like that. The iron bikini is a barbarian man's wet dream. Such a sight would have men's swords raised before they even attack wink.gif

He looks rough with the tower of the nine shield, and dangerous. It does suit him, in my opinion. Even if he doesn't stick with the robed plate, he has a large variety of outfits to choose from so he can quest throughout Skyrim. I think each and every one of them are just amazing and Jerric is looking good. What a beefcake.

Wow. That mammoth will feed them for days!

That is a great view. I bet what lives out there doesn't like civilization all that much. I think they're dangerous.

Scarf+fireplace+warm tavern= What is this cold you speak of? tongue.gif

By the fire once more. Lildreth knows to be effective in combat she must keep warm.

I like the armor he has on, as well as the outfit she's got.

Brinner! Jerric just left out the mead hehehe. laugh.gif

Posted by: SubRosa Jun 26 2014, 08:49 PM

That's a big guy they almost sneaked past! Usually I never have problems with mammoths being hostile, except in giant camps.

Probably best if Lil keeps wondering about who lives in that castle in the sea!

Lil looks very bundled up in that pic!

If I was at that place at night, I would stand watch too. The curly spiky things by the steps don't set one at ease.

I don't recognize the guy in white armor either. Was that one of the thugs?

Jerric is loading up on carbs! Will that increase his stamina? wink.gif

Posted by: Acadian Jun 26 2014, 08:50 PM

Wonderful shots, Grits. I'll bet Lil's pretty unhappy that they had to kill a mammoth. Oh well, much better a mammoth than getting trampled themselves. As as DE mentions, I'm sure the meat and fur will serve them well for a long time. Happily, the meat freezes pretty well up there and Jerric can carry lots of stuff (so can the horse, I'd imagine tongue.gif )

Posted by: King Coin Jun 27 2014, 12:04 AM

Standing watch is so pretty! And the bundled up one made me smile. I need to add the crew back into my game after the recent wipe out. *grumble*

Posted by: Grits Jun 27 2014, 12:12 AM

Thanks, DE! Lildereth’s armor/outfit was a lucky find, and that’s Jerric’s “get dirty” armor. Lil does not worry about armor rating (it’s so low it practically doesn’t matter) so she wears whatever she likes best.

Rosa, the guy in white armor is one of the thugs. The thug with the contract was at the back of their group and not in the picture but he was also wearing that armor. That’s probably why they didn’t give the usual “We’re here to teach you a lesson” dialog but just attacked. You can see Jerric asleep on the middle right. Increase his stamina, lol. Gods help Lil if it does! tongue.gif

Acadian, the mammoth killing was a heartbreaker. She’s keeping the tusk as a reminder to be more careful. Lil will waste nothing so as you imagined the Nord and the horse are both loaded up. I’m surprised she didn’t make Jerric camp there until he ate it all!

That’s the second time Lil has had Jerric + mammoth problems in that pass. The first one was the bandits vs. mammoth and two giants random encounter, and this one was the mammoth vs two sabrecats one. Both times Lil led them up the rocks (including the horse!) so that the mammoth team wouldn’t see them while they were still riled up after their fight. The problem is that Jerric’s aggression makes him respond to the angry mammoth even though it’s not a direct threat. His aggression gets them into trouble a lot, not just with mammoths and giants. I cannot count the times I’ve seen the message “Jerric is too powerful for your Calm spell,” or however it’s phrased. Now Lil has Pacify so maybe they’ll stop having this issue. She would sit by and watch a mammoth stomp every other idiot Nord in Skyrim, but not this one.

I could set Jerric’s aggression to something rational, but this is how he is. He’s not always an easy friend to have! I think it would be a better idea to try Buffy’s mammoth faction idea. There is no way that real Jerric would attack a giant or mammoth, no matter how angry they were at bandits or sabrecats.

KC, that scarf makes Lil feel like she’s being hugged by a Khajiit. I’ve had other characters find them and they all chuck them at the nearest vendor. Lil put it on immediately! I’ve been reading the old RPs and everyone loved getting an Aravi hug. happy.gif Sorry about the wipeout, and glad you’re getting back to being able to play.

Steady hands indeed! It is a good things that unlike real torches, sparks never fall off the ones in the game! ohmy.gif

Jerric is worshiping at the West Coast Chopper shrine!

Love the sun over the mountains in the Waiting pic. Don't you love how the companions have a habit of vanishing, usually when you need them the most, and then showing back up when the trouble is all over?

Hippies! I think Jerric likes what he sees!

Posted by: Acadian Jul 2 2014, 07:15 PM

Thanks for the pix! Steady hands is so neat in so many ways. The trust that Lil has is the big Nord behind her, the glowy feet and bound bow showing that Lil can get her mystic archer on, the very flammable oil they’re standing in! ohmy.gif

What a beautiful sunrise (set?) with Lil waiting for Jerric. happy.gif

Aww, hot springs. wub.gif

I was starting to wonder what Lil had that the redguard didn't, but she's the new kid in the pool. The redguard's probably getting very wrinkled after the amount of time she's been there! biggrin.gif

If a follower is slow catching up, they'll always appear from an unexpected direction, as the delay's been caused by the path-finding picking a weird route. Whenever a character enters the Hearthfires houses, their companion seems to enter through the other doors, and frequently comes rushing down from the upper decks, just as they reach the door from the entryway, colliding in the doorway. Out in the wilderness, they'll have a couple of sabre cats, or a Thalmor patrol, with them. ohmy.gif

Posted by: King Coin Jul 4 2014, 08:31 PM

These are lovely! happy.gif Steady hands though makes me nervous... ohmy.gif

Posted by: Darkness Eternal Jul 5 2014, 01:48 PM

Woah. Nice spectral bow she's got there. I do hope she uses it well and that Jerric won't accidentally drop that torch on the oil they're standing on ohmy.gif

Done like a true Nord. Jerric deserves his respect. The gods need worship and it looks like he's being blessed by it.

Burrr. I feel cold just looking at that picture. But Lil and Jerric are dressed up for the weather, though Jerric is a Nord and he doesn't count.

Companions aren't always reliable, are they? laugh.gif And is that cute dog Ulfe??

Wow. Steamy . . . that's not the way to go. I believe it is, "work hard, play hard." This one just oozes with hubbahubba.gif

http://i.imgur.com/4sQ9ksi.png the Colovian Hearth Hound has finally made it into the game. http://i.imgur.com/y4D4Sww.png relaxing at Lakeview with Meeko. She is supposed to run away from combat, so we’ll see how that goes. If I did it right she’ll get to travel a lot with her two-legged friends. If not she’ll get to stay home. I don’t want Jerric getting his head taken off because he’s worried about blasting the dog. smile.gif

Posted by: Acadian Aug 9 2014, 03:01 PM

Yay! Ulfe the Hearth Hound looks great - I love the texture you picked for her. I hope she does get to travel with the big J - if nothing else as a horse guard and tent warmer. tongue.gif

Posted by: haute ecole rider Aug 9 2014, 08:10 PM

Yay! Ulfe is officially in Skyrim!

She looks adorable! Did you use the textures from Unique Dogs or did you create your own?

Posted by: Grits Aug 9 2014, 08:19 PM

Those are AlienSlof’s gorgeous Better Dogs textures. You can find a link in Slof’s Lair but I don’t want to post it here due to the adult content on her site. I’ve also picked up her skeever textures for Darnand’s future pet. biggrin.gif

It’s looking good for Ulfe’s travel plans. My multiple follower mod was making her attack, but without it she behaves the way she is supposed to. As much as Jerric loves hauling the whole crew around with him, he’ll give it up in favor of traveling with his dog. wub.gif

(And one of his non-dog friends, of course!)

Thank you both! You know how important Ulfe is to the Nord. smile.gif

Posted by: haute ecole rider Aug 9 2014, 08:23 PM

Love, love, love AlienSlof's stuff, both adult and otherwise!

The Oblivion horse textures from her Lair are part of my Oblivion Foundation mods. I've not played without her horses for quite some time now.

Posted by: Grits Aug 9 2014, 08:35 PM

I picked up her Frost (the horse) replacer while I was in the Lair looking for skeever textures. I haven’t tried it yet but the pictures look good enough to turn anyone into a horse thief. biggrin.gif I didn’t look at her Skyrim horse textures because I’m already sidetracked enough!! Her work is beautiful.

Abiene disappeared. Jerric found her http://i.imgur.com/nsXDNIc.png.

After a few moments http://i.imgur.com/miLL68J.png.

When Jerric turned around he saw that http://i.imgur.com/oN32150.png. (They were all sandboxing in the area having been told to “Relax.”)

The girls had obviously decided they were going to stay the night. http://i.imgur.com/FiwzANp.png.

The next morning at breakfasthttp://i.imgur.com/nGCszDo.png. Possibly because that inn is very dark!

http://i.imgur.com/HFJERDK.png.

Jerric whistled for him and http://i.imgur.com/n4AWnkO.png about what “stay right here” means. I think it looks like Kip and Flash are discussing Jerric.

http://i.imgur.com/dNSfYLy.png.

By the time they got to the house it was sunny. Valdi was there acting too busy to stop hammering and talk to them. Jerric expected some lip but she gave him her sweetest greeting, http://i.imgur.com/IbxCICS.png smile.gif

Posted by: SubRosa Oct 26 2014, 01:41 AM

Wow, your Helgen Inn looks a whole lot nicer than the one in my game! (which is still in ruins).

I love that look Valdi is shooting Jerric! It looks like she was privy to the conversation that Flash and Kip had about him!

Lil is looking most hot in her ranger armor.

Posted by: Acadian Oct 26 2014, 01:43 AM

Oh wow! Thanks for sharing this trip with us. Your game is beautiful and it's wonderful to see the whole gang, along with some of the mod goodness you've so carefully chosen to enhance everything.

I simply love the horse sounds, and can almost hear them right through your screenshots - especially when traveling with a small group of riders.

What a fabulous journey! tongue.gif

Posted by: Lopov Oct 26 2014, 08:31 AM

Very nice screenshots, love the ones when they're traveling to Helgen and it's snowing. Ulfe's perspective of traveling is...interesting. laugh.gif

I assume you're using some mod that restores Helgen or have you done it yourself?

Posted by: Grits Oct 26 2014, 01:55 PM

Thanks for the kind words, folks! It was a peaceful journey since all of the random encounters were friendly people and patrols. Lots of lovely horse noises and chatter from the crew. Having everyone on the road reminds Jerric of his caravan guarding days. smile.gif

Lopov, I’m using Mike Hancho’s outstanding http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/35841/ mod. It has a questline, new locations (the Nordic ruin visible across the lake from Lakeview Manor in my Jerric’s world screenshots is from Helgen Reborn), and a good story. By the end my characters really feel a part of the community they helped rebuild.

Posted by: Darkness Eternal Dec 3 2014, 02:29 PM

These are some splendid screenshots, Grits! I'm enjoying every bit of it. Of course it had to be snow right? Skyrim has unlimited supply, it would seem.

Ulfe's view of the trip was pretty comical. I can't imagine seeing the rear end of a horse and its rider would be fun.

Lakeview manor is such a beautiful place. Going down to road to it must make the group feel happy and relieved that they're almost there. Some rest may be in order, yes?

I like the Helgen shot, too.

Good job, Grits!
