My guy had full daedric armour on, but instead of the cool-looking sword and shield that I had in my inventory, he showed up holding a staff in his hand. Despite this, I still thought it looked pretty cool.

But then one day when I travelled to Bruma, I decide to stop by and read the plaque again just for funsies, only to find that somehow his staff has moved down his arm and he now holds it with his elbow! He looks like a douche!

Wtf! ohmy.gif

With the Elbow I guess it's a glitch, but as for the statue you are shown what you like when you give Martin the Greater Stone.

I finally got one. And by the way, the battle for Bruma was a pain. I hate time limits!

Anyway, here's the list.

Bruma shield (Cause that's where we're fighting.
Kvatch cuirass (Savlian custom. I am the hero of Kvatch after all. Might as well show it prominently)
Blade greaves (We protect the Emperor!)
Imperial Watch gauntlets (even though they never showed up. But hey, it is politically important to make at least one reference to the Imperial city.)
Thornblade (For Cheydinhall)
Knights of the Thorn amulet (Cause it was the only way to shut Farwill up with his Huzzah)
random guard helmet (for all the other cities.)
Daedric boots (35 points of feather. Cause I love my loot)

My reasoning for this outfit was that since I'd pretty much brought soldiers from all over Cyrodiil to Bruma (and knew about the statue), I might as well make sure that the statue would serve as a symbol of this union between the cities. The downside is, it made me look like a total moron with no fashion sense.

Hehe jack. Sacrificed style for unity. Now that's a real champion worthy of a statue wink.gif.

It's just there, I think it probably appears either after you beat the MQ, or shortly after you close the great oblivion gate in Bruma. Since the statue says it conmemorates that event.

once you have won the battle of bruma it appears

Man.. I beat the game several times.. and I never once knew I had a statue..

Wow, I did not either. Go figure. Now that I know the Grey Wizard has a statue devoted to him, it gives me reason to start up his otherwise dormant game. I wanna see this!

I didn't realise at first that the statue "thing" takes the highest rated stuff you have in your inventory and assumes that's what yer wearing/using at the time...So that even if you only ever use the Ebony Longsword, if you have, say, an enchanted Blades katana on you, you shall be henceforth pictured with one of them on you...

My first character's statue, therefore, has a strange armour combination, topped with a Deadric helmet (the one with the life detect on it..The Inquisitor's Helmet or something?)...And that thorny sword that you get from Cheydinhal for saving the count's son...

Not, in fact the Ebony Broadsword and Dwarven Helmet that was what he was in all the time then...*Sigh*...

Rowan’s looked just like her (biggrin.gif), so I never knew there could be statue disappointments until I read about them. She was carrying Northwind.

Now that I know you can manipulate the system I’m sure at least one character will start running round pantsless in the hope of getting a nekkid statue. tongue.gif

Ha ha that would be priceless! It's probably possible to make a naked statue, especially if the player does the entire MQ at the lowest difficulty, and therefore does not need to wear anything to survive.

I'm am still tripping on this statue thing. I really thought I did everything there is to do in the MQ, and that other than a few nonsense quotes from NPCs and some armor/weapons my wizard will never use, there is little to show that he's the Champion of Cyrodiil. I will take a picture of the statue when I get to it.

I have other characters that have statues, and those statues look fine. To say the least, the character that has the statue doesn't look great himself.

My character does not have one. He would be embarrassed beyond belief if there was a statue of him in his own hometown! biggrin.gif

The thing that always irked me about the Bruma statue was that even if you understood the whole mechanism of what the game chose from your inventory, there would inevitably be a quest item in there that you didn't want on the statue, but couldn't drop.

My only statue of Bruma was built in honor of Amadeus Anchev, my only CoC from 2007 and I don't exactly remember what did he wear at the time but I know it included Saviour's Hide, Mehrunes Razor and some unique helmet but I don't recall which. He wasn't impressed though.
