With more discussion about us PvPing, I've created this separate thread for such discussion. Anyone that's interested in it can talk about it here. Tips, outings, questions, grievances, praises, etc., talk about it here! Or, in the case of Cyrodiil and Imperial City, we can still talk about how to do some of the side content while contending with roaming gank squads and such here as well.

I'm no expert on this stuff, but for anyone who is interested in learning more about it I can teach you some of the ropes about it since I have a decent amount of experience with it.

----------------------------------------------------

I sometimes forget to screenshot my Battlegrounds outings which is quite unfortunate, but here is a highlight: The comeback from the other day

The other day when I was doing Battlegrounds, my team put a beatdown on the competition in two different matches. We all just clicked, sticking together and rampaging through the enemy teams. Here are the final scores from those matches. Great success!

Beatdown #1

Beatdown #2

------------------------------------------------------------

Not strictly PvP-related but concerning a PvP area: I have all of the map locations in Cyrodiil discovered for anybody that wants to know where they all are. I'm going to post it below.

Cyrodiil - All Map Locations Discovered

I got more skyshards since then, so that part is out-of-date. I only have 4 more left in Cyrodiil. For those who need pointers or a refresher on Cyrodiil skyshards:
1) There are 15 skyshards in each Alliance's territory, and there are separate achievements for getting all of those in the Pact, Covenant, and Dominion.
2) There is also 1 skyshard on its own at the top of White Falls Mountain, which has its own associated achievement. There is also a giant at the top that is labeled as a "champion." Don't know the significance of that, but he isn't hard to beat. It's also not too hard to get to the location, but it is in Pact territory so you may need to be a bit more wary of other players if there is a bunch of conflicts nearby or if you are Convenant or Dominion. You have to go into one of the tunnels at the base of the mountain and open the Ayleid-style door that says it goes to the mountaintop.
3) Like in every other zone (I think Craglorn is the exception), every delve has a skyshard in it and there are 18 total in Cyrodiil. Rarely have I run into other players in these but enemy players will probably be d-bags and attack you as happened for me at least once or twice. (Fortunately, I had finished my business when I was killed.) The bosses in these delves also tend to be a bit tougher and have much more health than in your typical delve, but they still aren't hard to beat.

Addendum to point #1: Each Alliance has 2 skyshards deep within their territories, nearby their 2 respective scroll temples, but you can only get to those for the opposing Alliances at certain times. Each scroll temple has a giant temple gate leading up to it that need to be destroyed, and you will need a lot of people for that to both open the gate and kill all of the enemy NPCs guarding it. It is only when these gates are opened that you can run through to get to these skyshards, hence why I still have to get the 4 total that are hidden behind the Covenant and Dominion gates. (I could've done it before, but unfortunately I forgot about them why those gates were opened).

EDIT: Also be aware that when you are actually in Cyrodiil, your map isn't going to look like what I just posted above. It is going to have all the keeps, outposts, resources, Elder Scroll locations, etc. appearing on the map as well. So you will see a lot of red, blue, and yellow that will clutter the map somewhat.

Some more success on the PvP front. My team performed very well in a couple more deathmatches. Last night in the Imperial City, I also killed a couple players on my own.

Moar Victory

much victory. such success. wow. (There had been more players during the actual match, so they either left early or left before I could take the screenshot.)

-----------------------------------------------------

Strictly PvP aside, I got some more content in Cyrodiil and the IC done as well. For Cyrodiil, I only have 1 skyshard left in Dominion territory, beyond the gate of Altadoon. I also came right up to the Covenant and Dominion entry gates, and surprisingly no players came out to gank me.

For the IC, I did a few dailies (which give a good amount of XP compared to their length), captured my missing skyshards, and defeated the remaining WBs in the sewers. I even took down one of the Coldharbour Elite Guard! They're those really tough Xivkyn [censored] that stalk the sewers. Luckily, no other players came during that time to attack me at the same time. But that must have been one of the weaker Elite, because there are a couple others that I ran into before (intentionally and unintentionally) that demolished me.

Leovic - encounter start (one of the Longhouse Emperors that sat on the Ruby Throne, now a corpse raised by the Worm Cult)

Leovic - morphed into a flesh atronach

Leovic - dead

Soloing Xivkyn Elite - during battle

Soloing Xivkyn Elite - victory

Lastly, the final WB in the sewers, Gati the Storm Sister, could very well have been a disaster--and not because of Gati herself. I hid in the shadows waiting for her to spawn and a Covenant player came into the room with probably the same idea. Something like CP668. Then another Covenant player came in but only at level 32 and NOT CP. Fortunately, they left after a minute or so, so it seems that I was not spotted even though I accidentally double-tapped a directional key at one point.

I am the night

----------------------------------------------------

Does anybody else have any adventures, topics, etc. to talk about?

Bueller?...Bueller?...

Had a cool encounter with an enemy player yesterday.

Went back to Cyrodiil with Cincy yesterday to get the last bit of experience toward getting the highest tier of gear reward*** for the Kalgrontiid campaign. But I also had a quick quest to turn in when I reached Vlastarus, which was unfortunately under Dominion control. I couldn't sneak to the Altmer NPC I needed to talk to as I was attacked almost immediately by the Dominion Honor Guard at the central flag in town. Fortunately, no players came around, so I turned in the quest.

Then I figured I would try to take the flags in town to claim it for the Pact and get the highest reward tier for the campaign. I successfully captured the central flag. As I was capturing the outlier flag, though, I noticed the compass icon for the central flag was being taken back by the Dominion, meaning there was at least one other player nearby. So I crouched down to see if I could stay out of sight, but I guess the other player had an ability or potion to detect hidden players, so he attacked me. Naturally, he was CP810.

After I died and respawned, he whispered to me "gf lol" as in "good fight." I thought he was possibly being sarcastic at first but didn't respond like I thought he was. Turned out he actually meant it. He was impressed and commended me for staying alive as long as I did and said I was a tough fight. We chatted a little bit through whispering, but we wished each other luck. Cool dude. Too bad he fought for the Dominion. tongue.gif

*** = In Cyrodiil campaigns, you choose one of the available options for a campaign and select it as your "home" campaign. As you capture and defend keeps, resources, outposts, etc. and fight for your Alliance, there is a bar that shows you what tier of reward you will get at the end of the campaign, similar-looking to an experience bar. There are tiers 0, 1, 2, and 3, and the higher you go, the more and better-quality gear and gold you get at the end of the campaign. This is also affected by the final score of your Alliance at the end of the campaign, so the reward will be affected based on whether your Alliance was 1st, 2nd, or 3rd.

---------------------------------------------------

In other news, I really HATE how Battlegrounds can fairly easily start with less than the maximum number of people. Each team can have up to 4 players, but often in my recent outings I have had only 3 players while one or both of the other teams get 4. That's infuriating as it is almost a guaranteed loss. And I have only had one time where that 4th spot was filled during a match (which, SURPRISE, actually led to our eventual victory). The other day I decided to jump into a Deathmatch and my team was only 3, another team was only 3, and the other opposing team was 4. Guess who won?

Zenimax really needs to fix this issue. You should not start a match with uneven teams, and if it isn't the maximum number of competitors in a match then they should still be evenly distributed.

(Also, there is only one time where I was the beneficiary of a lopsided match, and that victory felt rather hollow--especially because BOTH of the other teams were short on players and one of the teams had just 2! So I don't complain just because it goes against me.)

Nice story, Rader. I'm glad you're enjoying PvP. In fact, it looks like you're growing into Chorrol's resident expert on PvP!

Hadn't played Battlegrounds in a while, so I ran two matches a couple days ago. It was one of my best outings and one of them may have been my best performance yet. That was the second one, and at first I was little unsure of what was going to happen. Only one of teammates had breached CP 160, and just barely. Another was in the CP 150s range and the other was CP 16. But we came out to an early lead and wrecked the competition. In fact, I almost went 6 minutes into the match before I finally died! Don't know how I escaped death in a few instances. Both of them were random (for the extra XP for the first time in a day) and they were both deathmatches.

First match results

Second match results (possibly my best yet)

I also ran in a raid with my PvP guild last night and it was a very successful outing. The leadership really knows what they are doing and puts us in great positions for success, although sometimes other EP players screw something up for us. In any case it was a lot of fun. Here are some shots from that.

The Elder Scroll Capture Dance

Just Gotta Rest My Feet For A Bit

The Crew

Fearless in the Face of Danger

I'm probably the last to learn this, but to get out of Cyrodiil or the Imperial City quickly you can just switch from one to the other.

For example if you don't want much mayhem in your Midyear Mayhem: run to your scouting location in Cyrodiil and fill out the report. Switch to the Imperial City, go to a district and do the quest. Switch back to Cyrodiil and turn in your report at the board, tickets! Switch back to the IC and you're in your base ready to turn in that quest, and get tickets! That has saved me a lot of running.

That's a neat idea, never even crossed my mind to do that. Should shave the amount of time I have to spend in Cyrodiil down considerably.

Yes, they recently made the Imperial City separate so you can now just "enter campaign" in the Imperial City to get out of Cyrodiil.

I wish we could get a group together to do the skyshards in Cyrodiil. I've got an Aldmeri baby (level 20 now) trying to get the skyshards down there. She has all the above ground ones that aren't behind gates; but she will def need help getting the delve ones.

We can totally do that. I have a low level character (Kalea) if we want to use the under 50 campaign.

That would be wonderful! And yes, that is the campaign she has been going in! Thank you so much!

Just let me know whenever you want to go = I don't see the chat box well; so to catch my attention you kind of have to type in all capital letters in the Chat (for me to be able to read what you have said easier).

The first time you are trying to grab my attention in chat = either whisper something long or follow it with lots of Exclamation points (or something) so it takes up several rows to catch my attention.

I don't see the chat box well at all; but a wall of aqua blue (whisper color) grabs my notice right away! I will drop whatever I am doing and go anytime you want!

My baby's name is Amiela Imbel; and she is a Breton Templar. If I am not on her; whisper me anyway and I will drop what I'm doing and change over to her.

Thank you so much!

Will do, I think after the Midyear Mayhem will be best. The delves are usually empty unless there is an event.

I have seen one of the new lancer siege weapons in action, and it is hilarious. I think it will be great aimed at the choke points in a keep. Jerric was defending a siege line while under fire from one on the walls. It caused utter chaos!
