QUOTE(DarkHunter @ May 26 2006, 01:25 PM) Yes, especially since Dunmer are pretty much the most balanced race. I.E. They can be anything... unfair, maybe. But thier not really the best in anything either. But that is also the case for Argonians and Imperials... Just the whole "Elf" craze, Rainer thinks.

I prefer Bretons, becuase they have the appearance and demeanor of Imperials with a fraction of the High Elven mana-boost. If you plan on using no magic, Imperials are just as good. I generally dislike the elven races (including orcs), and I'm not particularly fond of Argonians either, despite their natural benefits. For a pure warrior I have to vote the Redguards. BEST LIST(1) Breton (2) Imperial (3) Redguard WORST LIST(1) Orc (2) Bosmer (3) Altmer Altmer would be number two on the 'Wost List' but they contributed to the creation of Bretons.

QUOTE(burntsierra @ Nov 28 2005, 01:09 PM) There's only one worthy race, lets be honest here. And a particularly fine specimen,if I do say so myself, looks a little like this http://img157.imageshack.us/img157/8891/seydaneen7yn.jpgthat speciman looks like a cross-dresser

I will say this, mostly as a Morrowind player. The height problems that I experienced with Wood Elves, not to mention their nearly unanimous 'twerpy' personalities (the ONLY Bosmer I could tolerate was named Aengoth the Jeweler) makes them, hands down, my least favorite race.
Bosmer are Tamriel's version of short-guys with attitude problems. I personally believe that the Morrowind design team, in addition to being Duke fans, based the Wood Elves off of Curley in Steinbeck's "Of Mice and Men." There is no other explanation for their annoyance, as well as height impediments.
Almost as bad are the Altmer, who can get wasted with the effort of a God's Fire spell. I once used Trueflame to hunt down every High Elf I could kill that was still alive. None lasted more than a few hits.
As far as the rest, I found that Bretons made for great mage-hunters (especially since my limited experience in Oblivion showed just how imbalanced the stealth and magic aspects were), and Nords and Redguards were good on the warrior front, especially with their resistances. Imperials, Dark Elves, and Argonians were the 'balanced races,' though to be fair Dark Elves did get cooler bonuses and the more useful (for Morrowind, anyways) flame resistace.
But, all in all, I always ended up going Nord or Dark Elf.

Wow, I totally agree about Wood Elves and Curley from Of Mice and Men. Very nice analogy.
