I first heard of the term "musketeers" when my brother was playing the very first Sid Meier's Civilization with me watching him, and one of advances was called Gunpowder. Once learned, one could build musketeers that were quite powerful town protectors. Here's a Wiki article about them (from the first game).

QUOTE(SubRosa @ Jul 24 2018, 09:29 PM) I always forget about it, so go to fire and *dunk* nothing. Exactly. Today Logan switched the pipe rifle for the Institute rifle and he also took Kellogg's gun from its owner's corpse but because the required ammunition seems to be rare (and probably expensive too), he'll keep the gun for later use. Since Kellogg won't be coming back to Diamond City, Logan will use his house as a place to store stuff and rest while in the town. Following Dogmeat to Kellogg's hideout was so far the best experience in the game, one that'll be hard to beat. I wonder what happens though, if one doesn't have Dogmeat as a companion.

Hmm that’s a good question. It’s assumed that you will follow the road out of Sanctuary and run into doggy but there actually are a couple of alternate paths that can take you to Concord while bypassing Red Rocket altogether. Khajiit may have to try this one day.

Not sure how many mods you are running or what you'd be into, but this mod lets you swap out the .44 receiver for a .38, giving you access to basically unlimited rounds for it.

But surely there must be another way because one could leave Dogmeat behind or not even recruit him in the first place. But surely there must be another way because one could leave Dogmeat behind or not even recruit him in the first place. Most of the time when Khajiit did that quest he had one of the humanoid companions with his character (usually Nick Valentine). Dogmeat would be “summoned” from whatever settlement he was waiting at to follow the trail. Wonder if it would be something similar to that.

QUOTE(Kane @ Jul 25 2018, 12:16 PM) If you don't have Dogmeat with you but, have met him, he will show up when you leave Kellog's House automagically.
If you've never met him, Nick somehow knows about Dogmeat, and summons him to meet you for the first time, and lead you on.
Wow really? That’s ridiculously convenient, with an emphasis on ridiculous. This post has been edited by TheCheshireKhajiit: Jul 25 2018, 06:22 PM

QUOTE(Lopov @ Jul 29 2018, 07:24 AM) Hey, at least the quest marker doesn't automatically point to Fort H. This is true. It does at least feel like you are following a trail.

This sounds like Cho Zen Wahn, totally! I don't get how it's possible to make lots of money in Fallout, honestly. Janet made a lot of money, but that's only because I was the one writing her quests. Besides, she blew most of her caps on chems, booze, and "fun" with Nova, so she too was often broke. This post has been edited by Renee: Aug 2 2018, 09:09 PM

Khajiit is working on a method for making a vampire character without having to use a vampire mod. This one was using the vampire mod “Nuka Sanguinare”, but there were things about it Khajiit just didn’t like. Through a combination of the vanilla game and console commands, and the Survival Options and Start Me Up mods (which are mods everybody should have, imo), we have found that playing a vampire character without a vampire mod is actually very doable. This one is still ironing out the process but it basically involves the Cannibal perk, tweaking the Survival options and Start Me Up options to simulate a vampire like state of being, and then filling in the gaps with console commands. Sun damage is a no go, but then traditional vampires from folklore had no such characteristic; this was an invention of the film industry. If anyone is interested, Khajiit will post a guide later describing the process this one used for creating such a character.

QUOTE(SubRosa @ Aug 8 2018, 05:15 PM) It is a good idea to use the Cannibal perk. You could just rename a few things, so instead of it saying you are eating flesh, you are drinking blood. You can also improve the healing stats on blood packs. I did that for Loviatar, and made them the equivalent of stimpacks, healing crippling wounds, etc...
Khajiit thought about Blood packs. In game, it looks like it provides 50 hp, so we originally intended to use them to heal up between naps and meals. It would be neat if it could satisfy the “dark cravings” though. The good thing about Cannibal in Survival is that after you eat a corpse, you don’t have to eat again for 12 in game hours. The only real downside is that regular food items no longer work for you, but there’s always somebody you can kill to chow down on between the random scavers and raiders, so who cares?
