So, I've had an idea. I've been wanting to start my own RP thread for a long while. I was talking to Colonel Mustard about it, and an idea struck me. Remember the Dark Brotherhood mission"Whodunit?" You play the assassin and have to kill off each member in any way you please?

What if we did that...but the killer is assigned by me, to be one of you?

The layout of the house is sketched. The basic idea is, you create an entirely new character, you CANNOT use an already made character, and I'll tell you why. Not only will you, the players, not know anything beyond the appearance of another player, but there will be causalities as they killer cuts his or her way through the house.

The participants are lured to the house by a common acquaintance, baiting them with the common "If you find the chest of gold, you win!" scheme. I will be DM'ing solely, so situation control will be up to me. Character interactions will be left up to you. "Winner" gets to live, quite simply.

If you'd like to join in, all you have to do is write your character's appearance, down to the dress and scars. Anything noted when you look at someone. Then, write the rest of the character sheet and send it in a PM to me.

For clarification: Only put the character's appearance on this thread, send the rest to me. That includes the "real" name.

Hope people join in! I welcome questions!

p.s. Hate to be nit-picky, but please.no were-creatures or vampires. Why? because it would be too easy for them to solve it or overpower anyone they'd come across.

So, we all sign up, you pick the killer, and only the two of you know about it? Sounds like fun.

"No were-creatures or vampires", so elves and magic are allowed? *crosses fingers*

Is this TES universe, or just generic fantasy?

Yeah, elves and magic are allowed since they're an "accepted" form of supernatural. And it's the TES universe.

Right, 'public' profile is here. I'll PM you the private one later on this evening, Liz, I've got work I need to be doing for the rest of the day.

Name: Aranios Sayle
Race: Imperial
Age: 22

Appearance: Tall enough to suggest some Altmer blood somewhere in the family line, Aranios' face is boyishly handsome and clean-shaven. He has short blonde hair with a slight upward tuft at the front, brown eyes, a slight nick in his left ear and a winning smile. He is obviously athletic, though not as heavily muscled as a professional warrior, build more similar to that of a gymnast than a brawler. He walks with a swagger in his step, and exudes an air of cocky charm and ease.

He is always well dressed, and for this party has attired himself in a sleeveless doublet of red velvet, black trousers and a long-sleeved white shirt. He also has three rings on his fingers, and any with the ability to perceive the arcane would be able to see that they are magical in nature.

This is a great idea, Hollow. My roommates and I used to host murder parties like this in the dark ages before the internet. Lots of fun. And costumes.

Just to be sure, the only person doing the murdering is the one you secretly assign that role, right? It’s not a free-for-all?

Exactly. If I assign KC to be the murerder, no one else can be the murderer.

KC to be the murerder

*Leaps on KC and stabs him in the neck*

It's OK, everybody, I got him. We're safe now.

On a more serious note, where/when is this going to be set? I think you mentioned somewhere in the Rift, but I'm writing up Aranios' bio and I just want to make sure that the date/time/lore etc all line up properly.

I've decided The Pale instead. The swampy atmosphere would add some creepiness.

The Rift is the Hold of Riften. The Pale is the Hold of Morthal if memory serves.

Both are located in Skyrim.

So that's one full character sheet sent in! Who's the next brave soul?

Also, don't worry about making a character fit to be a killer. If you know me, you know I like to surprise people and will pick the most inconspicuous person if possible.

Aargh!

On the one hand, it sounds so interesting.

On the other, it's set in Skyrim.

Aargh!

One last thing: Are you talking 4th era Skyrim? I'm assuming you are.

Yeah. But don't worry, I'm setting the scene entirely. Don't worry about current events or anything of the like. The whole world is set on the property of the mansion.

Hoooo boy:

Dunmer, early forties. Typical red eyes, ashy grey skin. Charcoal hair in a topknot, small sideburns. Scowling face, with neck tattoos in the general shape of some daedric letters.

Red-and-gold Dunmer outfit from Dragonborn with flared sleeves, black cloth boots, and a sturdy leather belt with a Cyrodiilic steel longsword and scabbard.
