Dark Souls series is brutal. Hardest game I've personally played...

I don't even remember. I avoided most of the hard NES and SNES titles. Maybe the original final fantasy, because I didn't know you were supposed to xp grind and I was horribly underleveled

I heard the 3rd game's a bit more forgiving and probably better for starters, but that's like reading the last page of Return of the King because the other two books were hard to read.

Hoo boy. If you thought LotR was tough, I'd avoid the Silmarillion. laugh.gif

Dark Souls brought out the calculating, patient, pragmatic sadomasochistic min-max player in me. I entered that game as a trash-talking #360noscope420BlazeItYEEHAW CoD playboi, I came out of it a man.

I’ll never forget that game. It legit impacted me as a human being, to risk sounding dramatic; I’m not lying when I say it taught me patience and calculating all my moves beforehand, and I was like, young (15 I think or 16) so that was actually pretty beneficial.

Still tho, it’s not for everyone and I heard that the second game toes the line between simply hard and unreasonably torturous (only played the first game KEK).

Worst part is, the story looks interesting and I'd like to play it just for that, but there ain't no way in Hate I'm touching a game that difficult. My blood pressure thanks me.

I got that on the Switch via Nintendo Online Direct (aka Now Nintendo does online memberships too). It's tough but fair.

Kinda...You can use save states now. As for the original you had infinite continues and even if you died and used said continue you'd pick right up from the last checkpoint.

Ooooooh, save states. And I reckon you don't have to play it twice in a row in order to truly win?

In Bubble Bobble for the NES you simply cannot complete the game alone. Well you can, but you can't get the true ending without a second player.

The curious side of me is now considering Dark Souls. Might pick it up for the 360.
