QUOTE(mALX @ Oct 23 2016, 12:17 AM) QUOTE(TheCheshireKhajiit @ Oct 22 2016, 08:22 PM) Why the hell can't Khajiit find that awesome version of "Paint it Black" featured on Westworld? This one wants it for his Spanish guitar and Mariachi playlist!
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Pkwa6AIWJ8kBut it just isn't the same without a one-eyed Yul stalking the main characters to kill them! Haha yeah, the soundtrack maybe the best part of the show. That and it feels like a video game.

Here is what I was listening to: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SG47UMZBupcNow here is what I am listening to! Oh, I love that one too. If there was ever a way to improve on Annie Lennox's version, Marilyn Manson most def found it! Off topic, but have you read his book/autobiography? ("The Long Hard Road Out of Hell").

I didn't know he even had a book! I did see a behind the music style documentary about him back when he was still relevant, which was not very flattering.

It is autobiographic, but also an introspective that gives an amazing insight into him.

Back in the long gone days when I was so foolish as to have "My top XX favorite such-and-such" lists, my "Top Three Favorite Symphonies" included and was often capped by Beethoven's seventh. (The other two were, often as not, Mozart's 41st and Mahler's 5th.) Whether or not these same works would appear on a non planned modern list I can not say. I certainly have not lost my love for them. All of which leads me to a YouTube audio-only live concert recording of Beethoven's Seventh performed by the London Philharmonic under Klaus Tennstedt. Intense and driven, I like it very very much. Just about the only nit-pick I can make is that I wish the growling bass line played by celli and string basses very near the end was a bit more prominent. (I like it to really cut through there.)

Most recently listened to several virtuosic piano works Paganini-Liszt: La Campanella, performed as a concert encore by Valentina Lisitsa (video). This seems to be something of a signature piece for her. Liszt: Spanish Rhapsody, performed by Lazar Berman (audio). This performance and I go way back. It was an early LP acquisition back in the early seventies. It amazed me then and still does. This post has been edited by Decrepit: Nov 18 2016, 12:49 PM
