I've not beaten it yet either. For that matter, I didn't beat Morrowind either and I had it for about two years. I also have Oblivion since 2006 but I've never gotten around to beating it. My current character, a Wood Elf is level 8 but I haven't even started the MQ properly (I've only delivered the Amulet to Jauffre).

Well, I've probably done everything there is to do in Oblivion, but all on seperate charcters. I almost beat the main quest and all the guilds with one character, but on the last quest for the thieves guild I had a power outage and lost all my saves.

I think I've beaten it what... 7 times I think. Just the MQ though. I beat the entire game 4 times. I have a whole lot of free time biggrin.gif.

I've only played through the main quest once myself, I've also cruised through the Knights of the Nine and Shivering Isles as well...gotta say they help the game to be what it should have been at launch.

It feels like I've started the Main Quest a million of times, though I've only beaten it once. And I lost that character, whom I had beaten almost the complete game with... Then I always get so annoyed by doing all of it over again, so I haven't brought myself to doing it yet. Though I loved the final part, and that's why I want to beat it again, so I can watch it.

But I have beaten most of the guilds a few times, and the Shivering Isles. Also the knights of the nines have been beaten once or twice, and I think I've done almost all of the quests. I even ran around killing everyone once... blink.gif

Though I haven't really played as a very powerful vampire yet, but I'm working on it. biggrin.gif

As the regulars here know I have never "finished" Oblivion. I can never bring myself to complete a free-roaming game because that requires me to go down a pre-determined path which defeats the whole purpose of a free-roaming game, imvho smile.gif

mirocu, I love your ability to ferret out an old thread that, not only has a valid and interesting premise, but let's us see what was said long ago. goodjob.gif

Acadian, in his quest to evaluate if Oblivion was 'fit for elven consumption' completed all the quests in the game at least once. He only completed the MQ once. Although I loved the MQ and found it both fulfilling and touching, it left a definite feeling of . . . finality. It did indeed seem awkward to go from Champion of Cyrodiil to Potato Hunter or Rat Slayer.

We worked some Acadian magic into Buffy's neverending story in Tamriel. She lives in a post-Oblivion crisis world, but it is the late Savlian Matius who is the Hero of Kvatch, and Sir Mazoga who is the Champion of Cyrodiil. There is no statue in Bruma and no one has ever called Buffy any sort of hero or champion. It works wonderfully for us.

Cool thread!!!...

About half of my character Knights have done the MQ...Nordy-Boy, McWylde, J'Drell and Galasafon all finished the MQ and live (and are still finding new locations to fill the map in with) in said post Crisis world...The others are unlikely to do it...

Methinks I'm MQ'd out... biggrin.gif ...

I did enjoy it though...More than some on here seem to have...I had a blast closing the gates personally...

Olfsson and McWylde were all shoulders down and charge (Swipe-stab-crunch), whilst the other two were a bit more sneaky about it...Galasafon spent most of his time in Dagon's realm invisible... biggrin.gif ... emot-ninja1.gif ...

Finish...Oblivion?

I'm not sure I understand the question.

I mean sure, I've done the main quest, once. But finishing an open world game?

That sounds counter productive.

Buffy's objectives in Cyrodiil are three-fold:

1. Talking with her many friends about such things as mud crabs and syndicates of Altmer wizards.
2. Traveling the roads, rivers and beautiful countryside of Cyrodiil and defending her right to do so against those who would accost her.
3. Keeping every dungeon in Cyrodiil permanently clear of foes.

When those three objectives are finished, perhaps she'll want to move on. biggrin.gif
