I am a taoist so I do not believe in good and evil, however my first character will be very likely to kill people for houseing, items etc. and I will learn the landscape with that character, she will prolly go stealth, the later after a few hours I will make a character who follows the quest lines and does what he is supposed to do, but sneak in a comfort kill now and again...I just can't help myself... Games with violence don't make people violent, they make violent people from being violent in real life by allowing an outlet for anger, aggression, hostility, and bloodlust...that's kinda me...I just gotta see more blood...red...moist... warm....sticky,... copper-tasting ahhhhhhhhhhh yeeaaaaaa that's it....

QUOTE(raistlin @ Sep 25 2005, 08:29 PM) will you be an evil tyrant or a nobel hero? An assasin that works for watever pays him the most so probally evil for the most part. I also am considering being an evil sorcerer or a noble knight but mostly an evil dude.

I'll be Evil when it's convenient.
Although that usually means I'm pure good in rpgs because somebody once had the silly idea that there should always be multiple valid options to solve a problem. I think this rather poor because it degrades evil to pointlessness. Sometimes there just are moments that you have to massacre a whole town because they don't agree with your policy and you can't afford the troops to quell the riots. Then again, I'm doing it to save the lives of my own troops and subjects.

I gravitate away from pure good and evil. I love moral ambiguity; after all, the decisions you make in Tamriel are difficult to classify. Should you believe one person or the other? Would it be better to execute the criminal or to learn his motives? It's hard to be good; being evil is cheesy
I roleplay characters with serious moral defects. Then, as the story progresses, I'll slowly transition to a good character. For example, I'll start the game as a thief and then develop into a warrior. Panging for the character development that's impossible in an open game, I try to create my own. Down with static characters and simple labels of "good" and "evil". In most RPGs the moral decisions are so elementary that good and evil are just faceplates, inane avatars. Morrowind, and I assume other Bethesda titles, was different.
