Hello and welcome to Morrowind's version of Character's Update! smile.gif

Here you can write about what your characters are doing on Vvardenfell, Solstheim or in Mournhold. It's not an actual fanfic thread, but I'm not forbidding anything.

My Morrowind character is hibernating so to speak. He's a Nord called Karl the Northener who lives on Solstheim where he takes up residence in Thirsk Meadhall. He mostly wanders around fighting whatever attacks him while collecting various things to either sell or keep.

Posted by: Lopov Apr 23 2014, 10:01 AM

Thank you for this thread, mirocu, you made my day. I need a break from learning so let's my meet my former character, whose story happily concluded the previous week.

Name: Haryon

Picture: http://shrani.si/f/1Z/qG/trLTlsT/21-haryon-and-the-minist.jpg

Race: Nord

Gender: Male

Age: Unspecified, close to 30

Sign: The Atronach

Home Country: Cyrodiil

Nerevarine: Yes

Faction and Rank or Guilds: Primate of the Imperial Cult, Clanfriend of the Ashlanders, Operative of the Blades

Class: Monk

Skills and talents: Hand-to-hand / Blunt Weapon, Unarmored, Acrobatics

Weapons of preference: Bare hands, staves, maces

Clothing: robes and only robes

Alignment: Neutral Good

Biography/Life History: Haryon, born on a certain day to uncertain parents, is a humble monk who was deported to Vvardenfell against his own will but when he realized the importance of the Nerevarine prophecies, he had no choice but to accept his destiny. He saved Morrowind and its people from two major threats: Dagoth Ur and Almalexia. But being the Nerevarine never made Haryon feel to be "above the others". He remained a simple man, always helping those in need by following the teachings of the Nine Divines. He never cared about money and usually gave it to the poor or donated it to the Imperial Cult.

Current status: Haryon settled down in the Urshilaku Camp, together with Ashlanders that were his prime teachers in becoming the Nerevarine. Adventurers that passed the Urshilaku Camp, often told stories of a barefoot bearded Nord walking amongst the Ashlanders like he was one of them. For he was, because the Ashlanders called him "brother". However, what happened to Haryon in the Red Year, when the Red Mountain erupted, scorched almost entire Vvardenfell and thus killed most of the island population, is not known. The most possible claim is that in the fifth year of the fourth era Haryon the Nerevarine passed away.

Ooh! Great thread and two great characters biggrin.gif

Makes me want to fire up morrowind again..

Anyway my most recent character is named Veldryn and he's a dunmer warrior that primarily utilises medium armour, long blade, marksman, alchemy and mysticism, among other things...

He's about halfway through the MQ and is a member of house Redoran and the Fighter's Guild..

And here's my current character, the exact opposite of kind-hearted Haryon.

Name: Varus Valgus

Picture:http://shrani.si/f/2U/v3/fOK7kJp/8-varus-valgus.jpg

Race: Imperial

Gender: Male

Age: Unspecified, close to 40

Sign: The Thief

Home Country: Cyrodiil

Nerevarine: No

Faction and Rank or Guilds: None (yet)

Class: Assassin

Skills and talents: Long Blade / Short Blade, Light Armor, Sneak, Security

Weapons of preference: Long swords (enchanted), Bows, Short Blades

Clothing: Light Armor (currently wearing a mix of glass and chitin armor, namely: glass helm, cuirass, greaves - Chitin pauldrons, gauntlets, boots

Alignment: Neutral Evil

Biography/Life History: Varus Valgus is a ruthless assassin from Cyrodiil. Much of his past is shrouded in mystery, but it's known that he hails from a noble family and worshipped the Daedra. He was supposed to kill a noble in Windhelm, Skyrim, but was caught in the act and imprisoned. Because he often escaped from prisons in the past, authorities decided to send him to Ebonheart by ship where he'd be judged. It turned out that this wasn't a clever idea.

"I'd rather sell my soul to Daedra than remain on this ship any longer," cursed Varus while the ship was travelling through the Azura's Coast. It's unknown what exactly happened afterwards but suddenly a huge wave appeared out of nowhere and overturned the ship. Varus managed to set free, killed his guards, jumped from the sinking ship and swam to the coast. Varus is convinced that the Daedra helped him to escape.

Varus later became infected with Porphyric Hemophilia and evolved into a full vampire. He caused terror in the Grazelands, preying on unsuspecting victims and sucking out their blood. He met his demise from a warrior of the Zainab camp.

Current status: Dead.

Interesting that you have one good and one evil character, Lopov. One on either side of the spectra cool.gif

It seems like we needed a Morrowind-specific thread. One former and one current character from Lopov and one from Vital.

Anyhow, I hope this thread will be active and enjoyed and hopefully more will chime in smile.gif

How long-lasting is Karl when compared to Lothran - did many years pass in his game? And does he ever leave Solstheim or is a permanent resident of the frozen island?

Maybe you should fire it up. wink.gif I really liked the main quest in MW, it took Haryon some in-game months to complete it. I've never done either House Redoran or the Fighter's Guild. In fact I was deciding whether to create a knight that'd join House Redoran or a ruthless assassin - in the end I decided for an assassin. emot-ninja1.gif

Donīt know how many years, havenīt played since December and only a little then. He has gone back to Vvardenfell once or twice but only very, very briefly.

I think that she'll able to play it more or less vanilla, as I do. smile.gif Funny, but I can play Morrowind almost mod-less to enjoy it, something I can't say for other TES games. mellow.gif

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Morrowind:Burcanius_Varo, a publican of the Varo Tradehouse in Vos, rolled his eyes when a familiar figure in glass armor came in. It was Varus Valgus, an extremely arrogant Imperial, that showed up in the tradehouse a few days ago, and frequented it ever since, most of the time at nights - to get a meal and a bed. Although Varus spent a lot of drakes in his inn, Burcanius couldn't forget the fact that he killed Smokey Morth, a fellow local, just because he got on his nerves. Not to mention that he always got in a conflict with another local, http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Morrowind:Hairan_Mannanalit.

"Can we hurry this along?" said Hairan and angrily looked at Varus as he made his way to the bar.

"Out of my way, woman," shouted Varus and came to the bar. *1 "You there, I'd like to eat something. Give me some...ash yams. And a bottle of greef. And here's some gold for the bed."

Burcanius took his gold and took a bottle of greef from below the counter, yet couldn't help but notice that Varus was much more pale than usual.

"You're not feeling well, probably you have a common disease. You should visit the Imperial Cult..."

"Shut up and give me my food already! I'm feeling fine. Even better as yesterday. Mind your own business, innkeeper." *2

"You're pathetic," said Burcanius and handed him a plate of ash yams and a bottle of greef, decided that he'll charge higher prices from Varus from now on.

Taking the food with him, Varus went upstairs to his room. It wasn't the first time that somebody mentioned him "not feeling well" but he certainly didn't notice any changes. In fact, he felt better than before, because he felt less tired and more fit. *3 It all began when he had a fight with some strong man in a tomb not far from Vos. Varus rarely had to flee from a fight but if he didn't escape from that tomb, he'd already be dead. But when his wounds healed, he couldn't explain why, he felt more healthy than before.

There was something sinister about that man but Varus couldn't explain what. He didn't saw him well because it was very dark but there was something about his smile and his eyes that made Varus shiver when he remembered him. He ate his supper and then went to sleep, still thinking about the mysterious man from the tomb.

Just a distance away from Vos, in a hidden ancestral tomb, old vampire http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Morrowind:Calvario was licking his lips - he sure liked the blood of that young Imperial.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

*1 and *2 - whenever Varus insults someone, I use a Taunt option. It's not always sucessful but sometimes it makes NPCs go mad at him.

*3 - Porphyric Hemophilia in Morrowind restores fatigue as opposed to later games, that's the explanation behind Varus feeling better than before.

A coincidence, really. He followed an advice to "seek out tombs and mines to find valuables" and the first thing that he came across, was a vampire in a tomb. laugh.gif

Speaking of vampires in general, they seem ultra-rare in Morrowind. Except one lair, Haryon never found another one, yet he explored quite a lot of the land. I'm not sure if they are so little of them or he just didn't have any luck in finding them.

Probably he'll get even worse. evillol.gif But not many people will talk to him afterwards so it should make for an interesting RP.

It sounds good indeed, I haven't thought of it until now. bigsmile.gif Now all he has to do, is to find a Vampiric Ring. And thanks for the welcome.

Yes, there are three clans, which means three lairs. There are probably some random vampires scattered across Vvardenfell but except one lair that belonged to one of the clans, I never found them elsewhere. Well, technically, this ancestral tomb has a vampire but there are also other undead around so it doesn't count strictly as a vampire lair.

I am enjoying the reads too. The only thing holding me back from finally starting Morrowind is the fact that I've got too many other games going on right now, and I need to 'resolve' some of these first. So it'll be good reading others experiences for MW.

Plus when I finally get around to MW, I know it's going to be an epic experience. I don't want to sandwich this experience between Oblivion, Skyrim, and Arena. panic.gif

mirocu: Hey come on friend, that's not fair! .. I wouldn't start Morrowind and just slam it full of mods. That's not my style.

Just kidding, Renee wink.gif And I totally get what you mean, those three games you have going are quite enough already and I suspect you also have other games going?

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

"I don't deal with the likes of you!" *1 Burcanius Varo encouraged himself and decided to refuse any further services to the arrogant Imperial when he wanted his breakfast. Surprisingly, Varus Valgus said nothing in return, but silently left the tradehouse.

"They'll get what they deserve...in time." For now he decided to leave Vos and levitate to Tel Mora - thanks to the levitating amulet which he received as a reward from Master Aryon's http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Morrowind:Turedus_Talanian, he was able to cross the sea without getting wet.

Later he had his glass & chitin armor repaired at http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Morrowind:Radras' smithy, bought some chitin arrows at http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Morrowind:Berwen's tradehouse and returned to the mainland to search for some places to loot. He didn't find any, so he spent some time training his archery skills on peaceful Vvardenfell creatures *2 and on occasional hostile Dunmer.

In the evening he rented a room at the only tradehouse in Tel Mora, the Covenant, and went to sleep...he dreamt of a blonde maiden that was crying but her tears were red. Red as blood. And when he tasted them, they were salty, sharp with spice and savor. But maiden's face had changed, her skin grey-white, her hair turned black, and wreathed her head like twining snakes. *3

Varus couldn't see himself while dreaming but if he could, then he'd see his face changing - his skin was becoming grey-white, just as maiden's, his eyes got pale and two of his teeth were slowly changing, becoming longer and sharper...

An hour later a scream of fright was heard through the tradehouse. http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Morrowind:Natesse, a scout in charge of guarding the tradehouse, had no idea what was happening but the voice was clearly male, which meant that only the guest could be screaming. She heard a ruckus above her, right where the Imperial's room was located. In the next minute the Imperial came running down the stairs. He was hiding his face but just as he was about to leave the inn, he slowly turned to Natesse, and that's when she saw...

...a vampire!

The very same man who came to the inn this night, was now completely changed, and if it weren't for his distinctive long hair and glass armor, she wouldn't recognize him. Now his face was pale, lifeless, his eyes and lips as white as snow on Solstheim. He was sweating and breathing heavily, obviously being very, very scared.

"Aaaah! A vampire! Go away!" she shouted, hoping to alert other guests in case he attacked her. But this didn't happen. Eeven more scared and shocked than her, Varus rushed out of the inn and away from Tel Mora. While the vampire was fleeing, residents of Tel Mora heard yet another nerve-racking scream and then...
...everything...
...fell...
...silent.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

*1 - Varo's disposition was 30 when Varus taunted him but for some reason it dropped to 12 in the morning, that's why he refused services, obviously.
*2 - one of the few mods which I use, pacifies most of the wildlife unless diseased.
*3 - this is a segment from the nightmare which you get before transforming to a vampire. If anyone's interested, here's the entire text.

Thanks, Acadian. Today's story is slightly longer, when I began writing, I intended to keep it short but by the time when I was done, it was already too late to go back. smile.gif

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Fright, hysteria, despair, madness...these and many other feelings were rapidly passing through Varus Valgus' head while fleeing from Tel Mora. Everything was clear now...the man in the tomb whom he fought was no ordinary man but a vampire...people telling him that he was sick, were right, yet he ignored them...no longer will any potion heal him. But in time his thoughts shifted elsewhere...rage and revenge took over. Running like a madman he made his way to the ancestral tomb where it all began - he demanded answers, he demanded to be cured. But old vampire Calvario that infected Varus, wasn't in a mood for talking. Happy to see his latest victim fully-fledged, he now wanted to drink his whole blood, but he underestimated Varus' new powers.

Two vampires clashed, Calvario with a health-absorbing spell and Varus with an enchanted glass sword. Calvario was agile and more experienced, rapidly draining his opponent's health by powerful magic that allowed him to suck out Varus' blood. It seemed that the battle was lost when a sudden thought crossed Varus' mind...when Calvario came closer to drain more of his blood, Varus pressed his hands against him just as Calvario did before - Varus didn't know how but suddenly he felt his blood rapidly circulating, bubbling, almost boiling! The feeling was both pleasant and satisfying, and while sucking out Calvario's blood, Varus felt encouraged to continue the battle.

Calvario stepped back, surprised, and that's when Varus pulled out his shocksword and stabbed Calvario through right his chest, ending the vampire's life.

...

"Now what?" Varus said aloud, only to find out that his voice changed as well. It wasn't deep as before, but husky and rough. He searched the entire tomb for any clues about his disease but found none, so he left the tomb. It was still night when he came out and he slowly made his way back to Vos. He felt betrayed, confused and scared but from somewhere deep inside he felt unexplained power and lust for blood. He felt like there were two persons inside him - one terrified and one malicious. They fought each other and in one moment he felt desperate, and in the next moment he felt powerful.

"AAAARGH!" All of a sudden Varus felt a burning pain all over his body. It was unbearable and felt like he was melting, falling apart. As soon as he noticed a lightning mass rising from the east, he knew the reason. "The sun! It's the sun!" Barely able to sustain the pain, he began to run. Run! Run! Run! Despite his torture, he realized that he ran much faster as he used to before becoming a vampire. But he knew that it won't help him much unless he finds a shelter soon. At that moment he spotted a tower-like entrance ahead. He knew the location - it was a complex of a few ruined halls under Tel Vos. He cleared them a few days ago and even found some valuable loot there. Thinking only to get there on time, Varus sprinted as fast as he could, jumped to the door so they opened with a large slam and then quickly closed them behind. He lied on a floor and just like the pain appeared out of nowhere, now it was gone in a second...everything was as it used to be. It was cold in this abandoned dungeon and it suited him.

But with the soothing feeling of coldness came the realization that he'll no longer be able to enjoy the sun. He became a creature of the night. Breathing heavily, Varus realized that the life he was used to...is lost. He couldn't hold back anymore...he began to cry. But his tears weren't ordinary - they were red and dense. As he was crying, feeling powerless to change his fate, tears made it to his lips, and he tasted them - they were sharp and salty, just as Calvario's blood. They imbued him with power and bloody freshness. He wiped his tears with his hand and now he no longer looked like he was suffering. Now he looked...

...hungry!

A jail under http://images.uesp.net/8/84/MW-place-Tel_Vos.jpg was a place where Men and Mer that broke the Imperial law in the region, were imprisoned. Once there were six cells down there but after Master Aryon ordered his diggers to extend the jail, the results were catastrophic and instead of being extended, the jail was reduced in size.

Nobody knew why, but when workers began to dig, a major wall collapsed and sturdy roots made its way through walls, destroying three cells and revealing forgotten underground tunnels that extended under entire Castle Vos. Many diggers died and those who managed to escape the collapse, were killed by rats and Daedra that dwelled in the tunnels.

To keep the castle safe, workers and guards destroyed wooden planks, connecting the tunnels and the jail so that creatures couldn't reach them unless they knew how to fly. Guards didn't bother to patrol the tunnels anymore and except rats nobody set foot in these stagnant and cold halls for months. *1

But now rats weren't the only residents down there. Now there was another creature. Lurking in the shadows and feasting on rats' meat, Varus Valgus called these halls his hideout. And he was that kind of a creature that knew how to fly.

Only one guard of importance was stationed in the jail, namely Goler Andrethi, a Dunmer witchhunter. Currently there was only one Khajiit prisoner so he didn't have much to worry about. Besides, the prisoner was safely locked in his cell so Goler could spend his time reading http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Morrowind:The_Anticipations.

Suddenly an arrow hit Goler's arm, penetrating his chitin Armor. "You n'wah!" He saw his attacker on the other end of the hall and quickly summoned an ancestral ghost to distract it. "How by Azura did this n'wah get here?"

Just in case if the ghost wouldn't be up to the task, Goler readied his bonemold bow. It turned out that he'll need it because a few seconds later, his ghost was no more and the mysterious attacker was running against Goler. He saw his pale face and since he was a witchhunter, he immediately recognized the threat.

"A vampire! You're beaten, vile creature!" But Varus attacked him with his fists, punching Goler so quickly that he didn't even have time to fire an arrow. Varus' hands were covered in blood and when Goler Andrethi fell to the ground, Varus forcefully bit his neck, sucking his warm blood out, feeling ecstatic.

"Footsteps?" As Varus heard someone approaching, he lifted his head and listened closely. Blood still dripping from his lips, he swiftly hid behind a nearby door and waited. A Telvanni Guard was approaching but he went down the other hall so he didn't see Goler's bloody corpse. There was no time for a planned attack, Varus quickly took late Goler's bonemold bow, drew it with full strength and fired an arrow straight to the guard's back, killing him instantly.

"Such a shame. So many blood lost," thought Varus, leaning over the dead guard's corpse. He took his iron arrows and two healing potions and with a satisfying, husky laughter on his bloody face, sneaked back to the cold tunnels. To his haven. To his hideout.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

*1 - the first three paragraphs refer to journal pieces that you find in Tel Vos Dungeon.

Posted by: Vital Apr 26 2014, 09:35 AM

So, Varus seeks revenge upon the vampire who infected him... Quite a fight it was biggrin.gif And he learnt the hard way that vampires and the sun don't mix. That would quite a depressing thought, wouldn't it? Never see the sun again... No thanks!!

And now Varus has a hideout in Tel Vos dungeon... Seems he's getting used to his new 'condition'

Great job Lopov!!! goodjob.gif

A heavy storm raged over the Grazelands. Burcanius Varo, a publican of Varo tradehouse, didn't expect many guests this night. When the weather was so bad, ships didn't arrive to Vos and locals stayed safely locked inside their homes.

Except fellow Ashlander Hairan and his wife Ferise, there weren't any people in the tradehouse. The only guest that Burcanius expected, was Sedyni Veran, a captian of local ship Falvillo's Endeavor. She usually came to his inn if the weather was 'bad but perhaps she just changed her mind and stayed on the ship' thought Burcanius.

He couldn't know that Falvillo's Endeavor would never sail again. He couldn't know that Sedyni Veran was lying dead on a beach, a chitin arrow stuck in her neck. And that the creature who killed her, was http://shrani.si/f/z/TK/4rtK6AXM/20-ready-for-revenge.jpg the tradehouse. The door opened with a loud slam and a man in glass armor walked in, a demonic smile on his pale face and a glass sword in his right hand.

"Remember me?" he asked and laughed wickedly. Burcanius recognized him immediately - it was Varus Valgus, the arrogant Imperial whom he refused to offer any more services a few days ago. But there was one important difference - Varus wasn't a vampire back then and it seemed that he didn't come to rent a bed this time. But before he could say something, Varus struck Hairan with his sword and the powerful shock force killed her on spot.

"You won't get away with this!" Burcanius knew that vampires are vulnerable to fire and luckily he owned an enchanted fire ring so he directed it at Varus, setting him on fire. "You fool!" shouted Varus, retreating. "Your pathetic ring can't stop a vampire!" He jumped over the counter and a few powerful swings killed the publican.

"You shouldn't have refused your services to me, Varo," Varus said to the corpse, "because now you won't offer them to anyone else. Ha ha ha ha ha!" But Varus knew that Burcanius' wife was still somewhere in the tradehouse and he was glad that he saved the best for last. He was hungry and wounded from Burcanius' ring and some fresh Dunmer's blood was just what he needed to revitalize himself...

...when Varus left the tradehouse half an hour later, there weren't any persons alive inside. Ferise Varo was an old hag but nonetheless her blood tasted good and Varus felt healed and sated. The Horror of Tel Vos crossed small hills and then descended down to his cold hideout.

I love it!! Varus is extremely nefarious, makes me want to play an evil character tongue.gif

What about you, Vital? Have a character yet? smile.gif

He's forming in my head. Might give my fighters guild and house redoran nerevarine another whirl. I just need a name and a race tongue.gif

Looks like Varus the Vampire is putting his new skills to use. And learning about the sun. tongue.gif

Posted by: Lopov Apr 27 2014, 10:44 PM

Well, when one plays as Dead-is-dead, you must always expect a sudden end. This happened today with Varus Valgus.
--------
Although I did my best by trying to keep him alive with a bunch of Restore Health potions, he was killed by some Dunmer from the Zainab camp. She killed him with one strike and it seems that her blade was enchanted with fire which means almost instant death for a vampire.

R.I.P. Varus Valgus - may you rot in hell! biggrin.gif

Yeah, it was fun while it lasted. I'm not sure if my next character'll be DiD or not, probably not, because I want to last it longer. We'll see.

Posted by: Vital Apr 28 2014, 01:45 PM

ohmy.gif already!?

These are the dangers we face when playing DiD. I've never played Morrowind DiD. Even though I'd already started playing DiD in Oblivion before I played Morrowind tongue.gif I kinda suck at Morrowind laugh.gif

Posted by: Renee Gade IV Apr 28 2014, 08:01 PM

Wow, looks like I missed the party. Well what a roller-coaster ride for poor Varus. He looked like he might do really well, now look at him!

I'm definitely not playing Morrowind DiD! .. Well good luck with whatever toon you roll next, Lopov.

RIP, Varus!

I am nowhere near DiD ready in Morrowind. ohmy.gif I do have a functioning game with a Nord waiting around for me, but it will be a time before I get back to her.

DE and Grits - It would be fun to read some updates from you guys. Maybe itīll have the same effect on me that tmarīs Fallout 3 pixies had; I started to play it again myself! laugh.gif

Posted by: Lopov Apr 29 2014, 01:14 PM

I don't always play Morrowind DiD but I try it from time to time, mostly with evil characters because if they die, I don't miss them so much. But my next character won't be DiD.

Also, it may seem that Varus died very early but in fact it's not like that. I only began writing his stories relatively late and being a vampire only represented his last 20-30 hours. He was through a lot before he became a vampire, he travelled over the Grazelands, Ashlands, Red Mountains, so he lasted some time.

She has no idea why she’s been transported here, why someone left a nice axe in a tree stump, or why said axe keeps whiffing the air instead of hitting the things that are right in front of her. I expect that in time these issues will become clear for her.

She’s wearing steel greaves over common clothing. She has a package she’s supposed to deliver. She’ll get to that pretty soon.

Posted by: Grits Apr 29 2014, 07:44 PM

I was playing my character Rowan Varrus (Imperial woman from Oblivion and Skyrim) when my old laptop died. By the time I got Morrowind going on this one she was retired from Skyrim and ready to stay retired. laugh.gif Thus Erika was born. A clueless Nord who will hopefully share my many what-the-'heck' moments getting to know the game.

I haven’t played Erika since last November, and I don’t think I ever bothered to introduce her. Now when I fire her game up on an off day I’ll be much more likely to write a little something about it. That will make me remember her better and play more. Thanks for this thread, mirocu! smile.gif

Btw donīt thank me, thank Lopov for wanting to write about his Morrowind character which in turn made me make this thread! wink.gif

Posted by: Grits Apr 29 2014, 07:53 PM

No idea. I expect she will get lots of surprises since she’s never been this far east before. She’s a decent person who fell in with some unsavory friends and got way more jail time than she deserved, to explain how she got on that ship. I’d guess Fighters Guild or Legion if she finds them, and Mages Guild if they’ll take her. She needs to get her skills back to pre-prison levels so she won’t walk around afraid of fish any more. tongue.gif

I wish I could claim credit for her looks, but if I recall character gen it was just pick a face, pick a hairstyle, play. Someone else made her pretty for me. smile.gif

Posted by: SubRosa Apr 29 2014, 10:38 PM

As I recall you pick the hair separate from the face. I think that is the extent of character customization, aside from picking race and gender of course. Wow, how far it is come since then!

Until I make up my mind about my next character, I'll continue Haryon's tale - you can read some basic info about him on http://chorrol.com/forums/index.php?s=&showtopic=5702&view=findpost&p=221366.

-----------------------------------------------

His recent adventure took place in Mournhold - after a series of investigations, failed assassination attempts, exploring ancient sewers, killing hordes of goblins, Dwemer constructs and powerful liches, Haryon found the supposed culprit for the havoc in Mournhold - Sotha Sil. But as it turned out, he couldn't be the one responsible because he was http://shrani.si/f/3p/Vm/oN4ZT3V/192-the-tinkerers-demise.jpg.

The true http://shrani.si/f/3F/50/1LvZQHeH/194-the-mad-goddess.jpg then arrived, and it was no one else but Almalexia, the Lady of Mercy. After a long and intense http://shrani.si/f/C/39/3MAvMkHm/195-nerevarine-versus-al.jpg, the Lady of Mercy was dead and Haryon, the Nerevarine, was http://shrani.si/f/3U/tY/3VEIPuHO/196-its-over.jpg yet again. Though killing the Goddess didn't bring Haryon any pleasure, at least he felt relieved that http://shrani.si/f/2M/Hh/TTzo8Jw/198-time-to-leave.jpg.

Outside Almalexia's temple he was yet again visited by his guide, http://shrani.si/f/2d/mw/A9oO5hI/199-azura-returns.jpg, who told him the truth about Almalexia and Sotha Sil and encouraged Haryon to protect her people in the future. "It is hard to protect those who do not trust me at all," said Haryon because nobody except King Helseth believed his story about Almalexia and Sotha Sil. "Needless to say, the very same people who don't believe me now, didn't believe me in the past, when they persecuted me because I'm the Nerevarine."

But then Haryon remembered someone who should be informed about Almalexia's and Sotha Sil's death. Using the magical ring, he teleported back to Vivec City, only to receive a cold greeting from two leading Tribunal priests. They knew very well that Haryon was a Primate of the Imperial Cult, and not even the fact that he was the Nerevarine, made them change their attitude. "Dunmers are proud and distrustful," thought Haryon,"and not only is the prophesized Nerevarine a Nord, but he's also affiliated with the Nine Divines. They'll never accept me but I guess that I'm getting used to it."

He made his way http://shrani.si/f/Y/fW/33xfA9xa/200-to-the-meeting.jpg to the Palace of Vivec. He met the Man-God only once, when they discussed plans to defeat Dagoth Ur and now he came http://shrani.si/f/1U/em/1roe620Q/202-nerevarine--the-man-.jpg, bearing bad news about Almalexia and Sotha Sil. http://shrani.si/f/3b/Gq/PAG9wyT/204-listening-to-nerevar.jpg listened closely and when Haryon finished his story, he was very, very sad. He expressed fear that Haryon would kill him one day as well, because that's what the prophecies foretell but Haryon assured him that he has nothing to fear from him.

Before leaving, Haryon gave Vivec the magical ring that allowed him to teleport to the Clockwork City in case he wanted to say goodbye to the former Tribunal gods. Then he made his way to http://shrani.si/f/3J/dZ/X0UEC3O/205-return-to-ebonheart.jpg, ready to part with Boots of the Apostle that served him well for a long time but now their place was on the Imperial Altar, together with many other http://shrani.si/f/1p/1w/R7FdS2S/206-haryons-donations.jpg that he acquired for the Imperial Cult. Many people would kill to wear these artifacts but Haryon had no use for them and instead gave them back to the Cult, where they belonged.

It was time to leave and Haryon knew that very well. It was time to go somewhere where people don't know him. It was time to explore new lands and let the fate do the rest. But not just yet. Haryon had a few errands to accomplish on Vvardenfell. Just when he finished forming a short plan of his future events, he overheard rumors about missing armor, presumably the most powerful armor on entire Vvardenfell - the legendary Lord's Mail. Set in his ways, he couldn't help but to start a little investigation on his own...

Yes, it's good to see Eric Clapton Haryon back in the thick of things once again. Makes me happy as a clam. That's so cool we can teleport in MW. When he teleports, does time pass at all?

The thing about Fast Travel in later games is some people think it's a teleportation spell (they RP it this way) but in truth it's not. Time is not supposed to pass if it's a true teleport, this is how it's handled in the table-games anyways.

No, time doesn't pass when teleporting.
It's indeed good to be back in Haryon's shoes, unfortunately MW doesn't record the total gameplay time, so I don't know how many hours did I spend with Haryon but he's definitely one of my longest-lasting characters. He doesn't have as many hours as Lothran (2000) but I guess that he has around 200. tongue.gif

--------------------

Not only did the Lord's Mail disappear, but Furius Acilius, a veteran of the Imperial Legion, went missing at the same time. It didn't take long for Haryon to put two and two together, especially after he found a worn key right under Furius Acilius' pillow in his private room.

Following a lead, he discovered a hidden door in the Imperial Shrine that led to caves below Ebonheart. Apart from a few diseased rats, that could no longer harm Haryon because of his disease immunity, the only resident down there was Furius Acilius, obviously waiting for the situation to calm down, so he could escape with precious armor.

"Not so fast, Furius! Surrender yourself and come with me. It doesn't have to end in bloodshed," said Haryon, trying to avoid killing if possible. But it was not possible. Furius attacked and the Nerevarine was forced to kill him. He took the Lord's Mail and some stolen gold from his corpse and returned both to the Imperial Commission.

And then...then it was time to go. Lalatia Varian, one of the leading priestesses of the Imperial Cult in Ebonheart, was shocked when Haryon told her that he's leaving. In the past he acted as a shrine sergeant, an almoner and even as a hero that travelled all over Vvardenfell, retrieving precious artifacts that have been lost with time.

His leaving was a great loss for the Cult, but Haryon didn't change his mind. He gave every single acquired artifact except one to Lalatia with hope that they'll be worn by someone with pure heart. He also gave them one weapon that long accompanied him on his missions through Vvardenfell - a common wooden staff, which Lalatia promised to sanctify, to honor Haryon's name.

The only artifact which he kept for himself, was a small token from Zenithar - a simple enchanted http://shrani.si/f/A/YN/2DzkXakh/212-goodbye-from-the-cul.jpg, capable of boosting its wearer's luck. Haryon decided to keep it to remember the Imperial Cult and the Nine Divines. Nodding a farewell to fellow priests, Haryon left Ebonheart, wondering if he'll ever return. "Never say never. But chances are slim," he thought while leaving the Imperial Capital of Vvardenfell.

I think that you find more about this while doing some quests. At the beginning I had an almost quest-less character and I didn't get the feel about MW's lore either. Later, when I began doing quests (especially those House-related), I realized that there's a lot of depth behind Morrowind's factions and some NPCs really stand out. Despite being static, MW has the most memorable NPCs IMO.

He was appointed as a Blade immediately after reporting to Caius Cosades but Haryon never felt like Emperor's "eye and ear". That's why he didn't enjoy his forced role but nonetheless maintaned good relations with Blades on Vvardenfell. But when Caius was called back to the Imperial City, he promoted Haryon to the Operative and assigned him the leadership of the organization. "I'm just a monk. I'm not meant to be a leader of the Emperor's secret service on Vvardenfell."

Although he wanted pass on his leadership to someone competent enough, he quickly got involved with the Nerevarine prophecies and other pressing matters on Vvardenfell. But now when skies over the Red Mountain were clear again, and when there was no more threat from http://shrani.si/f/1e/13f/18MiGXj2/131-dagoth-ur--nerevarin.jpg, now Haryon finally fulfilled his wish. He said goodbye to every Blade on Vvardenfell and appointed Surane Leoriane from Caldera as a new leader. Fellow Blades asked him where is he going to which Haryon replied that he's not going farand that in case of troubles, he'll return and help them.

After he bid farewell to all of them, there was another assignment ahead of Haryon - this one being the last before leaving. Now he had to say goodbye to all Ashkhans and Wise Women of four Ashlander tribes. There was a long walk ahead of him and Haryon first decided to visit the Erabenimsun camp...

16th of Last Seed, 3e 427
Day 1

The interior of Arille’s Tradehouse was much like its exterior; cheap and rotting. Tristan tread carefully, overly wary of the floorboards collapsing beneath him. An expensively dressed Altmer greeted him from behind the counter.

"Welcome to Arrille's Tradehouse. I'm Arrille, publican and proprietor. Don't take what doesn't belong to you. You're a new face here. If you want to buy from me, you have to barter. If you want a little advice -- free to new customers -- just ask. Would you like to hear about our most popular potions? Our most popular scrolls?”

“Greetings Altmer, I would like that staff and a mortar and pestle. I have a few things to sell too. Oh, and I will take the advice.” Tristan said, placing a coin purse and the items he’d taken from the Census Office on the counter. An eager smile spread across Arille’s face and he hauled a large chest onto the countertop. As he sorted through the goods the Altmer gave Tristan a brief lesson on survival in Vvardenfell.

"If you want to live to a ripe old age, buy a weapon and as much armor as you can wear and still run from trouble. Buy a spell or two. And practice your skills. Don't practice on citizens. We call that foul murder, and we don't like it. But you can kill smugglers and bandits and other outlaws all you like. Outlaws have no rights. Plenty of adventurers make a living from killing and looting outlaws. That smuggler scum down in Addamasartus, for instance. The cave down near the silt strider platform.”

Tristan finished negotiating with the trader and collected his goods. A silver staff, an apprentice mortar and pestle and a guid to Vvardenfell were all he could afford.

“I think I will deal with those smugglers, good day Arille.” He said, figuring anything else he needed might be found within the cave.

The Altmer bade him farewell with one last smile said “Make sure to bring me any loot you might find.”

Haryon visited both Erabenimsun and Zainab tribes and had long conversations with their Ashkhans, namely Han-Ammu and Kaushad. Not only did he tell them about his departure, but he also returned the gifts that've been given to him in the past. Except a few magic items, Haryon doesn't have a need for any others, that's why he returned these valuable artifacts, hoping that they'll be worn by someone who'll make a better use of them.

On a way to the Ahemmusa camp he came across a runaway slave and safely escorted him back to the Argonian Mission in Ebonheart. Right now he's sleeping next to a campfire west of the Ahemmusa camp which he'll visit in the morning.

I knew I wouldn't be able to stay away for too long!

Morrowind is great. I had forgotten just how good it is. It's rather sweet and lovely in a way, you just kind of drift along feeling rather pastoral.

It was one of her friends in Cyrodiil who'd finally convinced her that keeping slaves was fundamentally wrong and since then Eilidh, never one to do anything halfway, has embraced the concept of freeing them with enthusiasm and gusto...

Mind you it's been an eventful couple of days for our Princess, she's assisted in a murder enquiry, freed some slaves, and been chased by a spook; not to mention the wildlife, the humidity and the food...
...it's all good though as she's felt for a time that she's been getting a little soft so the exersize and so forth makes a welcome chance to get back into the swing of things so to speak.
(Not it should be noted that she's been a complete angel, mind, there's been some money made and few things bought and sold. She's not one to let the grass grow bless her).

She's leaving soon though, heading for Bal-mora...

Haryon is somewhere around level 25, he's a master of HtH, Unarmored and he's skilled with blunt weapons (he uses Goblin Axe), though he had some minor difficulties at the beginning of the Tribunal, he later did it without reloading anymore. I hope that's enough to get him started on Solstheim.

Posted by: SubRosa Aug 25 2014, 07:36 PM

If he can take on the Tribunal, then he can take on Solstheim! It is just not a place for a starting character is all.

Balmora's not bad but Gods does it rain!
Eilidh eventually braved it to head out to Moonmoth Fort. An uneventful if wet trip, although there was a curious incident with some kind of weird dog thing...

I loved the architecture of Balmora, it is very Middle-Eastern, yet with a twist. I liked the Redoran settlements even better, with their bug houses.

My characters were low-level when they went to Solstheim. They took a good beating.

Posted by: Lopov Sep 26 2014, 01:19 PM

After a fairly long pause, I played a little Morrowind today.
---
Haryon, a Nordic Nerevarine, is in the Ahemmusa camp, reading his journal and reminiscing of how he was dragged to Vvardenfell by force, how he later became the Nerevarine from old legends, how he helped the Imperial Cult, how he battled Dagoth Ur deep below the Red Mountain...

But he knows that he's not welcome on Vvardenfell. Not only is Nerevarine a Nord, a sworn enemy of Dunmer people, he is also associated with the Imperial Cult, making him even more despised in eyes of most Dunmers.

That's why he decided to leave Vvardenfell and head for Solstheim, when the time is right. He already visited every Ashlander camp except the Urshilaku, and returned their items that were given to him as a token of their support.

Once he visits the Urshilaku and bids farewell with his good friend Sul-Matuul, Haryon will head to Khuul and then north, to Solstheim.
---
I will be slowly returning to Morrowind, playing it piece by piece, so when winter comes over here, Haryon will depart to Solstheim.

My very first Morrowind character - sort of. It is my son's game, his character - a male Dunmer. While my son was in school I thought I would just play his man for a while and just not save the game.

Well, I just didn't like the look of the characters, so downloaded a body and face mod. Then I kind of didn't like playing as a man, so ... went into the "raceedit" and changed him to a female Nord. One thing led to another, and I got her a new face and a better hairdo. Next I picked her up a few house mods to live in, and some nice robes (not shown in pictures yet).

My son won't have time to get on his game till tuesday, and I haven't told him yet. Was kind of waiting till he turned his game on and went to play - for the shock value, or something (I guess).

Anyway, here she is:

The first three and last one are taken in her Seyda Neen house (mod); the 4th screen is her Balmora Stronghold (house mod, with an extra bedroom for followers). She has another house centrally located that has a portal to every major city so she can pop home and freshen up when needed - didn't get a screen of that one, but it is very pretty.

I know, right? I play in 3rd person so I can see her walking around, and keep holding the tab key down so I can see her face/frontal view in every outfit, lol. The only thing I really don't like is her "run." I have been wondering if there is a Morrowind mod out there that can fix the character's run - going back to Nexus to check it out, lol.

@ Acadian - yeah, I really should break it to him first (instead of letting him get on his game and be shocked) - but ...

I remember SEVERAL times in Oblivion I was playing that I turned on my game only to find out that my son had taken my character into the middle of the street in the Gray Fox mask and saved/exited; or went on rampages with my character and then saved/exited, so I would be walking around and suddenly hear, "Hold it right there, criminal scum!" (Or just have a whole bunch of people attacking me) - and my son would be standing there laughing like a hyena at my reaction. So yeah, kind of want to see what he will do, lol.

@ Lopov - Thanks Lopov! Actually, my son had already installed the Morrowind Overhaul mod, but I don't think it is working. It never went through the "set-up" procedures it was supposed to according to the "Read Me," so I'm not really sure it installed properly.

I'll take a screenshot outside if anyone can tell the difference that way.

@ Everyone - thank you so much, I was really pretty excited/proud of her and how she came out myself!

Misa (which is what made the idea of turning my son's character into a female first pop into my head), lol. That was most definitely a female name (Manga, lol).

Thank you, I thing she is beautiful too! I never expected to be able to achieve that result in Morrowind, not after seeing the vanilla characters in my son's game. I fell in love with her, not just because of her looks - but she also headtracks, which stunned me when I saw it - didn't think that would happen in Morrowind.

Since the graphics engine for Morrowind is the Gamebryo (like Oblivion) - would it be possible to adjust an Oblivion mod to fit it to the Morrowind construction set?

I was wondering that today when I wanted to give Misa a voice file, and couldn't find anything like "Brucevayne's Sound Sets" for Morrowind.

I know some of the NIFs and textures are different and don't transfer back and forth (learned that from trying to bring Morrowind stuff into Oblivion).

The only animation replacers I found for Morrowind had to do with casting, or maybe I miss-read (or miss-understood) the description page.

I did see a screenshot with the character's sword held up (Oblivion style) - Misa's blade sticks out in front when she walks, and swishes back and forth as if attached to her hips, lol.

(But her sword DOES hit the target in battle, thanks to a mod I downloaded).

I don't know if this is a spell or vanilla, she has one firebolt spell that is a very satisfying imitation of the Skyrim one that clears a full room of draugr. It still takes about 3 hits with it to kill anyone, but - nice effects anyway, lol.

Misa does it when she is passing an NPC, (looks toward them as they pass) or if she is standing somewhere and an NPC passes her (follows their progress with her head as they pass her). VERY nice, I love head tracking!

Scratch that "Morrowind Overhaul Graphics and Sound" from the above list, Lopov was right - I do have vanilla graphics.

Turned out that I just made an OMOD and loaded this mod up into MWMM and didn't realize I hadn't actually installed the mod.

Turns out there is a whole HELL of a lot more to installing it than what I did. Since I am happy with my game aside from the running animation - I'll probably uninstall that OMOD and just try finding an animation replacement instead - THAT will free up 7 gig on my laptop, lol.

--
Haryon is now in the Urshilaku Camp which is a final destination of his so called "Farewell Journey". He had a lengthy conversation with Sul-Matuul about his reasons for leaving Vvardenfell and the Ashkhan offered him to stay for a few days in the camp, to rethink his actions and perhaps finds reasons to stay on the island.

Although Haryon is already decided to leave Vvardenfell and sail to Solstheim, he accepted Sul-Matuul's offer, firstly not to insult him because Ashlanders can get offended easily, and secondly, because he'll could spend some days meditating and reading his weathered journal about events, that happened to him on Vvardenfell.

I wish I could find a way to make sitting available in Morrowind, and better running. I have been very pleased with the graphics in Morrowind, so much so that I thought that overhaul mod was doing a great job and endorsed his mod. Since I love the graphics just as they are, I'm removing that mod - but going to hang onto it to study how the scripts were done - I want to try working in the Morrowind CS, and want to learn what about it is done differently from the Oblivion CS.

I know the meshes are different, but they are still NIF files, and I know there is some way to convert them to Morrowind from Oblivion because some member called "Inny" was able to do it for some mods I was looking at last night.

Also, the animations are still KF files just like Oblivion - but there HAS to be some difference in them or else there would be sitting in Morrowind already.

Princess Stomper got sitting in one of her mods, but the mod no longer exists on any forum. I'm going to write her over at Bethesda and see if she still has the file (or can explain how she got them to sit).

OH! I found a mod to give my PC a voice (and found an awesome voice file for it!) - AND to make her sit down in a chair !!! I can't wait to see her talking and sitting down !!! WOOOOOOOOOOOOT !!!

Played with retexturing yesterday, now I need to figure out how to get the new textures to load into the CS. It is taking the new meshes, but not the textures.

I am pretty sure it has to do with the naming system in the Morrowind Data file - so am knee-deep in revamping my mesh/texture file names (thank goodness I don't have that many yet).

Yes it is! All it does is add a mesh of the hips and legs in the sitting position, and force the player to equip them when they activate the scripted chair.

Morrowind Nexus has the mod to sit, set up on one barstool in Morrowind (you just have to copy that script and attach it to the chair you WANT your character to sit in)

Better than that is Princess Stomper's Morrowind mod called "Leyawiin" - that is available for download on the "Morrowind Modding History" site. She has set up several places for your character to sit in her mod.

One of the (few) things I liked about Skyrim was that instead of just killing bandits/collecting loot/and selling the loot - you could also mine ore/collect pelts/cook meals while out on the trail/go to foges/smelters/workbenches and turn the ore and pelts into weapons and armor/and sell those!!! A lot less repetitive!

Because my disk crashed some time ago and I lost all saves of my Nordic Nerevarine Haryon, I decided to conclude his story. I have some saves left but they date way back, when he wasn't even doing the main quest and returning to his game seems kinda pointless after he achieved so much. So today I wrote a short conclusion to his adventures on the first page but I'll also copy it here:

Haryon settled down in the Urshilaku Camp, together with Ashlanders that were his prime teachers in becoming the Nerevarine.

Posted by: Renee Gade IV Jan 2 2015, 05:03 PM

So what does that mean, that Haryonbecame Nerevarine? .. Sorry to ask, but I'm new here. I've never played Morrowind. Glad to meet you, my name is Renne. hehe.gif Anyway, I assume this means that Haryon did something grand for the Dunmer?

Posted by: Lopov Jan 2 2015, 05:16 PM

I played it for a short stint before going to that Skyrim modding class. I used:

1) a mod to enhance all character's appearances
2) a mod that gave all the characters a much better walk - MUCH better. Unfortunately, the run was still obnoxious if you were in 3rd person, I changed to 1st person every time I ran just to keep from cringing.
3) a mod that fixed the fighting - it did a fantastic job, the fighting was so much better with it!
4) a body mod so the body didn't look like a wooden marrionette

I really loved Morrowind a lot - had trouble keeping up with quests because there is no journal, but the ones I lost track of eventually caught back up with me.

Here is Misa in Morrowind:

Always before adding any mods, make a copy of your Data folder and keep it as a backup so if any mod you add messes something up you can go back to a clean install.

If you installed it at the default location it wiill be something like C:/ Program Files (or Program Files X86) / Bethesda Softworks / Morrowind / Data.

Save it somewhere safe (I put mine in either Video, Music, or Documents) and name it something clear like "Morrowind Data File Backup." You don't need a copy of the official game files if hard drive space is tight on your laptop; but at least copy every other folder in the Data file to the back-up.

You will need something like 7-Zip to open the mod after downloading. Once that is installed:

Right click on the mod file, click on 7-Zip, extract files - yes. It will open a copy of the mod in a separate folder.

I always keep an exact copy of all mods I'm using, so at this point you can move that zipped folder into wherever you want to keep the mods you have installed; (the zipped folder won't be needed anymore, everything you need now is in the open folder copy of the mod). I normally keep a folder for each game; like "Morrowind Installed Mods," "Fallout 3 Installed Mods," etc.

Now go to that open mod folder and look inside. If there is a read me - read it and follow it. If there isn't a read me, this is the general instructions:

Any ESP, ESM, or BSA files go into the Morrowind Data folder.

If there are any meshes or texture folders they also go into the Morrowind Data folder but will need merging:

When prompted to merge, say yes. The files may then ask permission for over-writing some original files, say yes. (remember, you have your back-up of the original Data folder to go back to if you don't like a change you've made).

If you have the Morrowind Mod Manager or Nexus Mod Manager, it should automatically add the new mods; but if you don't you will have to activate them.

Go to the Morrowind folder (C:/ Program Files (or Program Files X86) / Bethesda Softworks / Morrowind ); find this:

MorrowindLauncher.exe

Double Click it to open, then when it opens click on "Data Files." Find the mod you just added and click on it to place a check in front of it. "Okay," then Exit.

You will need to activate any mods you have added unless you use a manager.

Play!

Now that is just what makes games fun! I like that idea a lot better than being forced into becoming a werewolf if you want to finish a questline out, lol.

Thanks for the info, Mirocu!

Yeah, but that is kind of known - I mean, if someone was just going to purchase the expansion, they would know already that it was all about werewolves and Hircine/the player/etc. I think people buying it knew in advance about that aspect of it and wouldn't purchase it or begin it if they didn't want to play that out.

The difference for me was in a faction taking the place of the Fighters Guild in Skyrim; throwing werewolves among you was fine, I kind of liked that - till they put it to me that I had to become one or else; and then you spent the rest of your time hunting and killing werewolf hunters instead of actual criminals (and in the case of the Companions in Skyrim, you also were sent to beat up shopkeepers for some reason too, but that is off topic).

I mean, they kind of took away any real faction action and tried to make it all about some storyline that didn't fit with the faction's cause at all; because the Companions were supposedly an honorable organization; yet had you (whether you were a werewolf or not) out killing werewolf hunters rather than chasing down the thousands of bandit leaders (etc) - when technically, every NPC in Skyrim would try to kill a werewolf if they knew there was one there; they just weren't in organized groups to do it.

And I'm not even against that story premise in Skyrim, just against it being attached to the Companions (Fighters Guild) and them diverting that guild's purpose to make it all about being a werewolf. Had Bethesda kept that storyline and attached it somehow to Hircine instead - or some mysterious faction other than the Companions (like rivals of the Companions - Like the "Blackwood Company" they had in Oblivion) - but not to usurp the entire Fighters Guild line for it.

(just like they shouldn't have usurped the entire Thieves Guild line to play out some political agenda and have no thieving involved; that could have been a separate questline for the city of Riften (Like "The Collector" questline from Oblivion was for the Imperial City).

I wasn't as upset by the questlines themselves as I was by how they foisted them in place of other questlines that should have been there.

Oops, off topic again, lol. Sorry about that.

Still running around Solstheim either fighting things or using levitation to avoid it. Whatīs annoying is that at some point I took a few things from the smith outside Thirsk, and now every item just like the ones I took is apparently marked as stolen. Even if I bring him a Riekling shield directly taken from the Riekling, he still says itīs his and just takes it. Way to punish me for one two a few slip-ups mad.gif

Not too much of a deal though. Karl has at the moment over 170 000 gold tongue.gif

Persephone has taken a ship to Morrowind. So far she has just putzed around Seyda Neen, practicing her Absorb Health on Mudcrabs and Slaughterfish. I left off with her about to tackle the tomb near the town.

These two had me jumping up to find Misa in Seyda Neen screens! She has a house there that Persephone is welcome to visit any time; and also one with an indoor pool in Balmora.

LOVE that armor, that is gorgeous; and so is Morrowind Persephone!

Persephone continues to explore the Bitter Coast. She found a Worn Imperial Key inside a shipwreck that had no locked doors or containers. I looked it up on the wiki to find out what it was for, and it turns out it is for a secret area in Castle Ebonheart. She was there just yesterday, and might go back to find out what it unlocks.

Acadian: I am using a head mod for Persephone's face, that adds a lot of celebrity faces. I think the one I am using is Jennifer Garner.

I think I free Aravi in all of my Morrowind games. Not that there have been many. The cave she is being held is not very far from the starting area, so it is pretty easy.

Persewind continues to look great in the land of mushroom houses. It is easy to see the influence on later games when we see the Morrowind Golden Saints and Dremoras. Even the Ghostfence looks like it inspired the magical wall around Valerica in Skyrim’s Soul Cairn. I’m just so impressed that Persephone is so well represented now in TES 3, 4 and 5.

Posted by: Renee Jul 17 2016, 03:43 PM

Nice, I think I can see Jenny Garner somewhere in there. In a fatalistic, undead sort of way.

I love the turn-of-century Tomb Raider esque graphics.

Posted by: Grits Jul 17 2016, 08:20 PM

SubRosa, I’d say that Persephone is the best-looking thing in Morrowind, but given her not-living status I hesitate to say “thing” and accidentally imply something rude. She’s beautiful! I love the pictures with the Ghost Fence best. Her hair, the look of her armor, and her stance with the sword bring her look through the three provinces. Wow! I love her pretty pink Absorb Health mist of death.

How neat that she freed Aravi. happy.gif

Oh, Persephone looks amazing in the underwater shot! It doesn't even look like she is drowning!

OMG, I think I remember Treydog doing this quest in his story! You are really far along in the game then? I haven't gotten past Balmora, was doing quests there when I switched to Skyrim.

These are AWESOME !!! I haven't seen you do Morrowind before, this is fantastic!

Ooh, Persephone's pony tail looks like Buffy's from the back! I love the look of that armor she is wearing! And wow, I never got to summon a Golden Saint, or even a Dark Seducer in Morrowind! That is so cool! But ... er, what did you do with her? Is that a quest?

Holy Cow, that is one loooong sword!

I am wondering if you went an opposite direction from where I went, I never got to see the Ghostfence! And I did make it to Balmora!

Seeing that fence here; and I've seen it in Morroblivion and Skywind - really makes me wish Bethesda would redo their older games in today's graphics engines and capabiities! How Awesome would it be to play Morrowind and have it be as great visually; mechanically; the animatronics; etc. - that we have today. And Arena; Daggerfall - would love to play them through in current graphics and combat abilities!

Okay, rant over.

Boy, Persephone's face came out stunning!

Oh, is that what the Ghostgate looks like? I used that structure as a gate for a pass in my story; rollinglaugh.gif

Oh, Battling a Dremora is a fantastic shot! Holy cow, what a great rig you must have to get that much detail! Are you using any mods to enhance the game? This is my favorite shot, spectacular!

I used a face mod on Misa; a body mod; an animation mod so everyone's walking looked better; and two combat mods to improve the combat - it was awful without them; but the animations were worse. Running still looked bad after the mod; and Khajiit were so bad - that was why I played Misa there, I couldn't watch the Khajiit walk, it was painful! laugh.gif

Man, Persephone is leaving a trail of dead bodies! Where/what is this place she is in? Awesome looking place! It looks like the Daedric ruins in ESO!

Skewered is right! Holy Cow, I guess so !!!

Awesome shots, I hope you stay in Morrowind a while so I can see more of it on a machine worthy enough to do it justice!

Acadian: Playing Morrowind really makes it plain where the look of Mania in The Shivering Isles came from. The Ascadiian Isles area around Vivec is practically identical, just less colorful.

Renee: It might not be Jennifer Garner's face. There are a lot of actresses in that head pack. But I am pretty sure it is her.

I think the Tomb Raider I graphics were probably better than Morrowind's vanilla look! The animations definitely were! If any ES game needs a remastering, it is the ones like Morrowind or Daggerfall. I would pay the full price for one of those games brought up to date with a modern game engine. Not even so much for the graphics, but for the animations, physics, and character customization.

Grits: Thanks. As ever, I worked very hard getting Persephone's look right. Creating a new race in any TES game is a lot of work, but she just is not playable without doing so.

The sad thing about the ghost fence is that it disappears once you get even a little way off. You can still see the suspension cables along the top, but the blue colored light field just vanishes. So from a distance you cannot even tell it is there, except for the towers and the cables between them. sad.gif

mALX: Wow, Persephewind just barely missed Maxical's mom. She went north along (and beyond) the shore from Hla Oad, and followed a couple little archipelagos of islands out in the water. There were a bunch of Daedric Shrines with names starting with "A", and finally a Dwemer ruin called Aleft that she explored. From there she went straight east over the mountains to Caldera and did some quests for people around there. That got her going further east, as far as the Ghost Gate. Then she headed south though an old lava flow and cleared out more stuff, before finally looping west to Balmora. So she circled completely around Hlomaren! But she will be getting there soon.

Persephone does not have to worry about drowning. She's undead, so she doesn't need to breathe! I always give my Deadwalker race in all games waterbreathing to simulate that.

You're getting me very tempted to try Morrowind again. The last attempt under windows 8 gave me a game with no mouse cursor, which was pretty well unplayable. I "upgraded" to Windows 10 on that laptop, so maybe I should try it again, and see if the glitch was fixed.

I bought the Anthology with the purpose of playing Morrowind, as it wasn't available on disk any other way. I ended up installing Skyrim instead.

The "play it on the Win 7 machine" option is also available. That plays Skyrim and Oblivion at 6000x1080 so I thought Morrowind would be better on the small screen of the laptop, where I wouldn't be critical of the graphics. Other than them not all being there, like the mouse cursor. sad.gif

I can't get over how barren both Balmora and Caldera look in these screens, I don't remember them looking so bleak in my game! Is it because you are so far away from them up in the air for the screen?

This is a great shot; even though the landscape is kind of reminiscent of a Fallout game here, lol. I'm dying to know about Persephone's sword, is that a mod added one? Is it enchanted?

Also on this shot; I love the architecture in the distance there; those steeples on shrines and some buildings in Morrowind; even more so now that I have seen it in the full glory of today's graphics in ESO. Really nice shot here, even with the lack of color!!!

Oh, Aha! This is the "Where Am I" thread screen! So I could cheat by following the path you detailed above and looking at all the buildings to figure out which this is!!! BWAAHAA!!!!

Man, that Bonelord looks freaky! The ones in ESO are huge and tough looking, but not scary = THIS one is scary as hell!!!!!

Geez, I'm sleeping with the lights on tonight! Oh, is that pink coming from Persephone's sword? What does the enchantment do?

HA! So Acadian has his own islands and didn't invite Maxical or Misa, but invited Persephone? *mALX turns green, grows to giant proportions, rips shirt off...* rollinglaugh.gif

They sure look pretty and lush; a bit Shivering Isles-ish!

Awesome shots !!!

Posted by: Grits Jul 20 2016, 05:12 PM

Oh neat, there is a huge difference between Caldera and Balmora!

Whoa, that Daedric Shrine looks ominous. I love how big it looks.

Persephewind steals the show in the ion cannon pics. “Hey, is that a Dwemerâ€Ķ Look how gorgeous she is!!” biggrin.gif

OK that bonelord is among the creepiest things ever. Even with the nice pink halo that Malediction gave him.

Picnic party at Acadian’s Isles!! That’s beautiful.

Posted by: SubRosa Jul 21 2016, 01:41 AM

Acadian: The Daedric Shrines in Oblivion and Skyrim are real letdowns after Morrowind. The Morrowind versions are these mini fortresses, with lots of usually hostile guards. They are tough places to tackle.

Your isles are indeed one of the most bucolic areas of the game!

mALX: I think it was just the weather that makes Balmora look so bleak. I think it was a cloudy sky day, because the sky is dull and dim looking.

Persephone's sword is just an ordinary Silver Claymore. She enchanted it with Absorb Health, in keeping with the other versions of Malediction in Oblivion and Skyrim. It is what makes the pink lights around the heads of the people she hits with it.

It must be really nice to see Morrowind with ESO's graphics. I really like the art styles they used.

They have Bonelords in ESO? That is cool! They are one of the creepier monsters in the ES games. But still not as creepy as the feral ghouls in the Fallout games.

Grits: The Daedric Shrines are really cool in Morrowind. They have a mad architecture to them, like they shambled from the blasphemous depths of an HP Lovecraft story.

I wish there were some good heads with scars I could have picked from. Persephone is not supposed to look so unblemished.

The Bonelords are really creepy. But wait until you see the Bonewalkers!

Those Daedric Shrines do indeed look more interesting/fun that their SkyBlivion counterparts.

Being a dead girl, I imagine Persephone’s too cool for fire to bother her.

Big Nose. XX

Wow, Larry’s bonelord brother is one weird looking skellie – no wonder he wants to wear robes. ohmy.gif

Posted by: SubRosa Jul 26 2016, 11:28 PM

Acadian: The sheer number of slaughterfish in the water around Vvardenfell is enough to make most people say Ewwww. OTOH stepping into the water is one of the best ways to level up fast.

The Daedric Shrines are pretty simple on the inside. Most have a little corridor that runs from the door to a single large chamber with the Daedric Prince's statue. Some have a rooms beyond. But for most that is all. In fact, all of Morrowind's dungeons are small. Most are just 3-4 rooms total. Multi-level dungeons are usually only quest-related, and even those tend to only be a handful of rooms each.

Persehphone has her eye on you...

mALX: I think the Bitter Coast is probably my favorite area in Morrowind. I love the swamps, and all the islands and grottos along the coastline.

Whenever I read "The West Gash" I always think of something rude... wink.gif

Acadian: There are two netches in the Bitter Coast Sunset pic. The one on the left with the translucent blue body is a female, and the larger brown one to the right is a male.

Yes, Bethesda naming that "The Gash" would have been hard enough to ignore; but the Wet West Gash = me sounding like Beavis and Butthead for the next 45 minutes every time I thought of it, laugh.gif

That is a very cool looking underwater cave! And one very ugly slaughterfish!

I love the Bitter Coast too; it just feels so believable with the little islands and that shack is a perfect example.

Ooh, was there any drowned treasure near the shipwreck?

Hmmm, I wonder if that is the same shrine as your "Where Am I" post!!! laugh.gif

Persephone is most def a hottie! What an Awesome screen!

OH! OH! Is she going after Dagoth-Ur? AWESOME !!!!!!!

"Readying" is another spectacular shot, mainly because it is such an awesome close in shot of Persephone's face! She is gorgeous!

OMG, she has a summonable really creepy looking bonelord follower? Does he fight well defending her? Urgh, they are so creepy!!! But if they are tough fighters, I guess having one by one's side would be ... doable, laugh.gif

You really went all out in these shots, these are spectacular! My favorites are the "Readying" and "Hottie," but all are Awesome !!!

QUOTE(SubRosa @ Jul 26 2016, 06:28 PM) *

I meant to say something in the last set of screens, the "Larry" shot = about Persephone's expression on her face in that shot - she has the same expression in this shot, and it reminded me I had meant to mention it.

One of the things I loved so much about the other shot and this one both is her expression, while looking at that freaky bonelord - you could write a story just off her expression and the setting; that horrible looking bone thing with no neck - that is a spectacular shot because her expression is so intriguing in it; you have to wonder what she is thinking!

Those Acadian Isles are gorgeous - I haven't found them yet in my game, not that I know of l (but it has been a couple years since I played Morrowind)

Oh, this is so exciting! I never got even near Red Mountain in my game, I have never even seen screens of it! AWESOME !!!!!!!

Wow, the Ghostfence looks really good in this shot! Is it like a City Wall or something? I really would like one day to play Morrowind through and see all these things I've only heard about on forums!

And the red sky in these shots is really setting the scene for meeting Dagoth-Ur; like those ones in the tunnel in your last set when you were fighting an ascended sleeper or ash vampire (I don't know what it was) - but the redness accentuated the feel of being so near that volcanic core!

In ESO, I have really come to love Red Mountain; and the ash storms even. But after seeing these screens, I kind of wish they had put a little reddish tint to the sky near the lava flows there. I mean, I am sure they didn't because red uses up so many resources and with so many people and NPC's in such a vast open cell - it would probably cost them if they did in the playability around Red Mountain. But what a nice touch it would be!

They did use red in the core of the volcano where you battle the 'Brothers of Strife'; but it is a separate cell with only a handful of NPC's and you are the only player there.

To me, it just adds to the whole feel of being that near an actively erupting volcano.

OMG, Larry looks like he is wiping his brow here! That is so funny!!!!

Awesome update !!!!!

Persephone has explored the western coast of Vvardenfell all the way up to the upper corner of the island. Solstheim is in sight on the horizon. But she remains on the big island. She has been working her way east along the northern coast now. I plan to head to the big foyada that runs from Red Mountain to the sea, and then turn back south, to explore the remaining areas on the western side of the map.

Despite the game’s limitations, you have certainly done a magnificent job bringing Persewind to the Dunmeri province. Her face is amazing.

Very cool how, in ‘Exploring...’, the pure vertical angle of Persephone’s sword matches that of the spires around her.

Woah! That is an Artillery Bow! ohmy.gif

Levitation looks like great fun!

Posted by: mALX Aug 6 2016, 07:22 PM

"Solstheim" - It may look intriguing here; but I can't see the name without hearing it being said in Vilja's sulking voice, laugh.gif I think she mentions Solstheim several thousand times per day.

In "Ready," is this the same strip of water northern border in the Skyrim game?

"Exploring" = my favorite shot; this place is Awesome! I never saw it in my game, it is amazing!

"Big Girl Bow" = 2nd favorite shot. HOLY COW! That ballista is HUGE !!!! Awesome Shot!!! But ... can it be shot or is it a static?

Ooooh, Levitation !!! Okay, now I have to ask: How does it end? Can you be up in the air and just plummet to the ground? Is there a warning when it is going to run out? Can you cast it repeatedly or can you only do it once per X time? I've always wanted to try it; did not find it yet in my Morrowind game. Holy Cow she is high up, though. A fall from up there - urgh!

All Awesome shots !!!

Persephone has explored all of northern Vvardenfell, from the west of the big foyada that runs from Red Mountain all the way to the Sea of Ghosts. With that done she headed back south, walking along the Ghost Fence with her boots of levitation. Yesterday she finished exploring the last few areas of the Acadian Isles that she had not before visited. Since then she has been exploring Azura's Coast, and a bit of Molag Amur.

In the ash-choked paths of the latter she came across an old orc looking for a good death. She gave it to him. Now Persephone carries the legendary sword Umbra. I don't really have much use for its soul trap, since magic items automatically regenerate their charges in Morrowind (I increased the speed with a mod). I also haven't quite figured out how to use it, since it does not work automatically when you hit. I think you have to cast the soul trap like a scroll). I think it looks good with the rest of Persephone's outfit, and it does a lot more damage than her silver claymore. So I think I will keep it. I might just change the effect from soul trap to absorb health, or damage health. (and maybe change its name to Stormbringer wink.gif)

I know I created Saya for Skyrim, but I am still having fun with Persewind, so I am going to stick with playing Morrowind for a litlte while longer.

Acadian: Levitating is very helpful in Morrowind. Some areas in dungeons are specifically made to only be reachable via levitation. The landscape of Vvardenfell is split up by mountain ranges, which I think was a clever way to make the game world seem larger, along with the omnipresent mist (which I got rid of asap). But even though the mountain ranges are barriers that restrict your sight across the province, the peaks are also populated with monsters. So Beth must have been expecting people to use levitation to get up on top of them.

mALX: The Ready pic is that same sea along the northern coast of Skyrim. It is just a bit to the east. So you could follow it to Skyland.

Morrowind spells don't have a timer showing how long they have left. So Levitation spells and potions end with no warning. So one moment you are walking on air. The next you are plummeting to your death. If you are quick, you can recast your levitate spell or drink another potion. If not, that is what the quickload key is for! You can recast or drink another potion before you fall of course. You just have to guess when to do it, and have the magicka of course. laugh.gif Persephone found a pair of boots of levitation early on, which she has kept to use for the rest of the game. It makes life a lot easier.

Now that really is one big bow! laugh.gif

I love all those hidden places you can reach by levitating.

Great landscape shots!

Do you use some mod that brightens dungeons, because I recall them being darker, especially those populated by Ash Spawns?

Perspehone must be tough if she managed to bring down Umbra.

I would give anything to watch you play, wish you made vids of your Morrowind gameplay!!!

But the Northern shore is the total opposite; just gorgeous !!!

Azura's Coast is pretty too!

Lopov: I am not sure where all the colored streaks of light came from in the battle with the Golden Saint. But it sure makes the battle look more interesting!

I am using a mod to reduce the number of Cliffracers. But they are still all over the place! I cannot imagine how bad the game must have been with the original amount of them. It is no wonder people hate them so much.

Acadian: Hope you never do encounter a Cliffracer! Bethesda made a mistake when they were placing the spawn points for monsters, and literally set 100 times more of them to exist than they had intended. In some places you literally cannot walk ten feet without being attacked by yet another Cliffracer.

I noticed that the Storm Astronaut has a human-like face in the middle of his rocky body. The ones from other games lack one that looks that anthropomorphic. I think the Oblivion ones are my favorite. I love how the rocks in their body will all fly apart and then come back together again.

mALX: Persephone does have the Boots of the Apostle. At first I thought they were just another pair of levitation boots. But I have not found any other ones in the game. I looked them up recently and found out that they are actually an artifact. They come in very handy.

I never liked the Molag Amur region in my previous playthroughs. But this time I am really enjoying the black, volcanic landscapes.

Persephone has not gone to see Divayth Fyr yet though. She has barely done any of the main quest. She has just been exploring.

Persephone decided to take a break from Vvardenfell, and took a ship to Solstheim. So far she has explored the eastern half of the island, and gotten involved with the Fort Frostmoth quests, and the Skaal. She started fixing all the All-Maker Stones, and so far has done three of them. She still has not gotten to Raven Rock, and I doubt she will want to do the East Empire quest from either side. In her mind, the island is better off without the Empire there.

If I'm not mistaken; those two are the only levitation boots in the game without mods. I wonder if there is any difference in the enchantments on the two levitation boots? The pair you get from Bagarn is Dwarven, so probably heavy armor. Are the Apostle boots medium? They look pretty on the internet pictures.

If we see Vilja in the Solstheim screens, I'll scream, rollinglaugh.gif

Oh, I wish the Morrowind Khajiit were as cute as that Argonian is!

The water in that "Looking Back" screen looks fantastic!

I think it is on a barrow.

Wow, it is huge up close!

D'Aww, what a cute moose !!! And I am surprised; Solstheim is really pretty!!!!

Are the Horker friendly? Why is that one missing its tusks?

This next is my favorite of the group; the look on both Persephone's face and the bear's !!!! Love that shot !!!!

Well, Bethesda didn't go all out on graphics on the Wampa, but it does look scary!

mALX: I did not even realize that Bagarn gives you a pair of levitating boots. Persephone has not been doing the main quest, and the last time I did was years ago. So I forgot all about it.

No worries, no Vilja here!

I love the water in Morrowind. It looks great from the surface, and does not get all green or foggy underwater (unless I changed that with a mod/.ini tweak and forgot!).

That big arch is on top of one of the barrows. It is the one with the young Skaal warrior who wants your help to kill a draugr. Persephone agreed to be a punching bag for him.

The moose were added by a mod. http://mw.modhistory.com/download-49-2606 smile.gif

The horker are friendly. I think they are the only vanilla animals on the island that don't attack you on sight. The waters around Solstheim are filled with them.

Darkness Eternal: The first time I ever saw a Grahl was in Treydog's Bloodmoon fan fic. They are a creepy monster, just undone by the age (and dated graphics) of the game they are in.

I have been having fun with Morrowind this time around. I have not touched it in years. The game has a lot of things I do not like. But now that I know about them, they don't bother me so much. I don't have any unrealistic expectations now, like I did the first time I played it years ago.

With the defeat of Hircine, Solstheim is once again back to normal. Well, what passes for it anyway. I ran into a few bugs afterward. The first was that something weird happened with Mortrag Glacier. I am guessing that the final battle with Hircine and his wolves was inside it. Because afterward it collapsed. But the old mesh of the intact glacier was still there, kind of. It was sort of half invisible, and I could walk through it. I am guessing it was supposed to be removed, but it didn't quite work out that way.

The other was Captain Carius. He was alive at the end of the first maze. So he is supposed to survive the endgame. When Persephone returned to Fort Frostmoth some of the legionaries said he had returned and he was in his office. But when I went there, there was no sign of him. OTOH, other legionaries just said there has been no sign of him since he disappeared. So something weird happened there.

All in all I prefer Solstheim in Skyrim. Not only is the landscape more interesting and varied, but the monster population is not as insanely dense. In Bloodmoon there is often a monster every twenty feet in every direction. You cannot fight one without the other nearby ones getting pulled in. And don't even think of trying to run or maneuver, because you will pull in even more monsters from nearby! That is why I often describe it as a gladiator school. It is a non-stop conveyer belt of combat. Even after I modded the game to make the bears and wolves friendly, I was still fighting constantly whenever I tried to walk around.

And the Rieklings! The ones on foot were no big deal. But the mounted ones all Reflect magic. That includes the magic effects of weapons. So you have to carry around a non-magical weapon to fight them with. that made killing them take forever, in an endless grind of button mashing until they were dead. I cannot imagine how bad it must be for mage characters to face them, since spells are useless. The same is true of the boss Riekling/Frost Giant Karstagg. I got so sick of it that I made a mod that removed the spell reflection from them.

I've never seen screenshots from Solstheim before, except occasionally from mirocu's character Karl.

Snowy areas are a nice contrast to (more or less) bright Vvardenfell.

I've only explored Solstheim as it is featured in Skyrim, good to see Fort Frostmoth still being in one piece.

Uderfrykte's main weapon is a bloody leg - Rattler approves!

The hall of the Frost Giant is an amazing place.

But King Karstaag is very ugly.

From what I recall reading about the glacier bug, it's related to the mod that improves graphics.

Nice pixies, SubRosa. I see your Solstheim has creatures mine doesnÂīt laugh.gif

Also tried to mod so the regular animals were friendly but it never worked. I ticked the right boxes in the CS and tried mods but nothing made them stop attacking, even from afar. Now I just live with it. I usually use Levitation to get away from them but sometimes itÂīs fun to just run into pack after pack and drag a posse around tongue.gif

Lopov: The snow is a nice change from the swamps and ash of Morrowind.

Fort Frostmoth does not stay in one piece for very long if you do Solstheim's main quest! laugh.gif It does not look much different than the Dragonborn version once the mq gets moving.

I thought beating someone with a severed limb was hilarious. It is a regular weapon too, so you can keep it and use it yourself!

I read up on the glacier bug, and you are right, it is a glitch in the distant land generation that happens if you use MGE (which I do). To fix it, there is a mod you can download that you have to select in the distant land generation, and create the distant land using it. But then of course if you start another character who has not done that particular quest yet, you have to run the distant land generation again without the mod. It just seems like more bother than it is worth, seeing that Persephone is done with Solstheim, at least in this game.

mirocu: You have to make sure you get all the animal entries. The bears and wolves are leveled, so there are 5 or 6 actors for each. The most powerful are named things like Blight Wolf, etc... which make them sound diseased or mutated. But they are just regular animals with higher stats. You also need to give the world time to reset after you activate it. I went inside a barrow and waited for 73 hours. After that your changes will work.

Acadian: I modded the weather of Dragonborn's Solstheim to eliminate the ash storms and bleak skies. So it always has an icy blue sky and polar sun. That makes it more appealing than the Morrowind version to me.

It was neat to fight the Unidentified Mutton's son, and to meet Svenja Snowsong. both bring back memories of Dive Rock.

Persephone is back in Vvardenfell, and exploring the Ashlands north of Red Mountain. While plumbing the depths of the old Dunmer fortress Kogrun, she found a tunnel that led to the inside of the Ghost Fence. I found it once with a previous character who looked around briefly, then went back to the 'safe' side of Red Mountain. But Persephone decided to go exploring instead, and tackled a few dwarven ruins and a Daedric Shrine before using her boots to levitate over the Ghost Fence and return to the Ashlands.

Her time in the gladiator school of Solstheim also seems to have toughened her up. Ever since returning to Vvardenfell she has been racking ass. She kills most baddies with one hit of Umbra. Only a few rare bosses are still standing after two hits, and not for long. It is funny that I have been reading the Elric books lately too. I sometimes want to shout "Blood and souls for Lord Arioch!" biggrin.gif

That bleak Ghostfence background really highlights how spectacular PerseWind looks.

I love the mysterious towering spires of those ruins.

Dreamer? At first I thought it said Dwemer. Lol. Who is the dreamer?

Sounds like she is having fun exploring Morrowind, and those boots of levitation sound wonderfully helpful.

Posted by: SubRosa Aug 28 2016, 05:32 PM

Acadian: I love how the Dwemer ruins look from the outside too. With the crooked towers and peaked roofs. They are not much to look at inside though. Nothing really is in this game. kvright.gif

Kind of a haunting, if somewhat bleak, nightscape of the ashlands.

I love that levitation spell and the lavender rings beneath Persephone’s feet make her look like Judy Jetson. tongue.gif

Bonehead can’t even figure out how to get past the door?

Yay! Darryl!

M’aiq! Oh my goodness. It shouldn’t surprise me to see him in MW.

The fiery aura coming up from beneath Persephone looks very neat.

mALX: I did not even realize that Bagarn gives you a pair of levitating boots.

Omg, our own Pseron Wyrd!!!! I never knew he made Morrowind mods !!! that is Awesome !!!

Aw geez, the crashed anomaly airship with the dead alien ashlander nearby! Did you find any alien ammo arrows nearby? Bwaahaa!

Another Darryl? Is this a follower or do you have her set in the "draugr faction?"

That is one scary looking Uderfryke with those fangs! Urgh!

Bwaahaa! I don't know the story behind the quest, but Luke looks like he opted for the soft landing from a high fall, lol. (still dying but without the sudden impact)

The "Hall of the Frost Giant" is spectacular! Morrowind was a bit back and forth with their graphics; some of them so breathtaking and others don't feel like the same game sometimes! But this one is one of their better times, really gorgeous!

Urgh, and they did a huge job on the frost giant himself! He looks just horrible; scary; terrifying!!! They did a great job on him! Was Persephone scared? How hard was the fight?

That throne is enormous! Urk, is that Ice King droppings in front of the throne?

Oh wow, I would have expected the werewolf to be bigger than the Player or NPC's!

Hircine looks scary as hell! Holy Crap!!!

Awesome Shots !!!!

It is a shame when developers don't know when "enough is enough" on spawning enemies. Once gameplay ceases to be fun I have a hard time slogging my way through. And having them reflect magic off your swords is a bit excessive too when they have hugely high hit points and the combat is as sluggish and awkward as Morrowind's combat system is. So glad they made the games mod-able to save it! (although I had a lot of trouble modding Morrowind.)

Really enjoyed this update!

The Red Mountain ruins are spectacular! Kudos to Bethesda on their job on this place; just Awesome!!!

This is like seeing an Oblivion realm for the first time!

I'll bet she will !!!

Awesome shots !!!! I am hugely enjoying seeing Persephone in Morrowind - so many places I never got to see in that game!

That is so interesting about the tunnel !!! That is Awesome !!!! I love secret passages that really give you a reward for finding them, and wonder if those ruins she found there would have been inaccessible had she not found that passage?

Really cool she was able to levitate out of there! She should have used those boots to get her past the bad guys in Solstheim - but then again, maybe not since it toughened her up so well!

Awesome update !!!

Urk, those Bonelords give me the creeps !!!

Persephone looks Awesome here, but Darryl...and what the heck is that thing jumping down on Darryl from behind?

That is Maiq? Holy Cow, he doesn't even look feline!

This last shot of Persephone is Awesome! She is so pretty for Morrowind characters!!!!

Great shots !!!

Posted by: Lopov Aug 31 2016, 08:14 AM

The Bonelord got stuck because of its bone!

I've never found M'aiq on Vvardenfell. Yet.

Darryl would definitely win the Undead Hot or Not contest.

Thanks to Divines for levitation so SubRosa can make great panoramic shots.

Posted by: SubRosa Sep 6 2016, 12:19 AM

Acadian: Buzz Aldrin's observation about the Moon is what comes to my mind when I look at the Ashlands: "Magnificent Desolation".

As long as Darryl doesn't look like the Uniblab!

I had forgotten all about Maiq, until I stumbled across him by accident. I think Morrowind was the fist game he was in. But I could be wrong.

mALX: That was another Draugr indeed. He is a former sorcerer living under the big lake on Solstheim. You can team up with him to stop a daedra attack on the island.

The Frost Giant was extremely difficult to fight. I had to run up, hit him a few times, then run away to heal. Then do it all over again and again. If he got more than a few hits in at a time it would kill Persephone.

The werewolves do not look very big. They are seriously overpowered, to the point of being cheaty. I did not like them much.

I think Dagoth Ur is The Dreamer. But the place I took that pic with the "Dreamer awakens" graffiti also had an Ascended Sleeper in it. So it could have been something it had written about itself.

Lopov: Maiq is in the Sheogorod region, on an island in the very north-east. So is not easy to find.

The dated graphics of Morrowind do not leave much for screenshots. But I think the panoramic landscapes still often look good, especially at twilight.

After her brief sojurn inside the Ghostfence, in which she gained Sunder, Persephone went down to happier lands. She explored all of the Grazelands, and the Televanni islands east of them. She is now going through the last of Azura's Coast, west of Azura's Shrine.

I read that you have to acquire Sunder and Keening and use them to defeat Dagoth Ur. I am not sure if your skill in them matters or not. But just to be sure Persephone trained up her Blunt Weapons and Short Blade skills to 100 each. The unrestricted training in this game can get ridiculous.

Posted by: Acadian Sep 6 2016, 02:40 AM

Wow, you are really making Morrowind look great! And PersePics are even more fun now that we have more of her backstory from you in another thread. Gosh, levitation looks like such fun. Aww, Buffy's godmother, by Azura!

Posted by: Lopov Sep 6 2016, 02:06 PM

Great landscape shots, the one of Sadrith Mora is my favorite. Morrowind is so much more beautiful without its native fog.

From what I recall, you don't need to be proficient in any particular skill to use Sunder & Keening, at least not during the final battle. But is she able to wield both weapons? I think at least one of them can't be held unless you carry some specific gauntlet.

Posted by: SubRosa Sep 8 2016, 02:25 AM

Acadian: Levitation is a lot of fun, and very handy. They obviously expected people to use it a lot, because all the mountain peaks have monsters roaming them, and you can only get there by levitating.

Lopov: I always hated the fog, it is one of the things that made me quit playing Morrowind the first time I tried it. Thank goodness for MGE.

You can hold Sunder and Keening, but you take a lot of damage every second you do. Unless you wear Wraithguard. It protects you from dying when you hold them. You can get it from either Vivec or Yagram.

As the pics show, Persephone has slain both Vivec and Dagoth Ur. I used the console to move the main quest along so that I could skip to the final showdown. I have done most of the MQ before with another character, and it just gets too tedious for me. Besides, in Persephone's official history she is not the Nerevarine. Though if I do write the story I have in mind, she was his sidekick. But that is another tale.

This comes on the heels of exploring all of Vvardenfell. Of course she already finished exploring all of Solstheim a while ago. With that the original game and Bloodmoon are finished. All that remains is the Tribunal expansion. I am not sure if I want to do it though. As satisfying as killing another god might be, I am getting a little tired of Morrowind.

Ashlands, Deadlands – hey, it’s all lava. tongue.gif

Dwemer Ruins is a great shot, showcasing the spires of both architecture and surrounding rocks. goodjob.gif

False God is hilarious. The look on his face is priceless and I can just imagine what he’s thinking in the little (looks like) thought bubble above his head. Would be a great candidate for the ‘Caption This’ thread! laugh.gif

New Dawn is a classic and classy Persephone shot. Can only imagine what the dead girl’s thinking as the sun comes up. happy.gif

Umbacano certainly progressed fast - from a common mage working in a mine to one of the richest persons in Cyrodiil in just a few years. wink.gif

Persephone the Killer of Gods. Vivec definitely has a surprised expression on his face.

Dagoth Ur faced Persephone in nothing but his loincloth, I bet he thought she'd fall for his ripped belly.

Congratulations on killing Mr Ur and bringing light to Vvardenfell.

I hope she completes Tribunal too at some point. From what I recall, it has a captivating story though my favorite wasn't the main one but the one where you have to find out who's behind assassination attempts at your character.

Was she in Kogoruhn? That is most def Sixth House. And I might not remember whether it was Dagoth-Ur who was known as "The Dreamer," but I do remember that he said the Sixth House would rise again; and there is some lorebook in game that talks about how the children who survived the original sacking of the Sixth House were taken in and raised by the other houses - and that they all had similar dreams as they were growing up and heard a song when they slept that was the call to their heritage (whether they knew it or not) so they would kind of "find each other" through the dreams and song and rebuild the Sixth House.

Can you tell it has always fascinated me? rollinglaugh.gif

I did a piece on it for some writing contest over at the Official Bethesda forums called, "The Rise of Dagoth" = so yeah, I agree with you (now that I remember a bit about it) that Dagoth-Ur would have been the one they were referring to.

It (that phrase) was written in places in the game; all of them dungeons. One of the other writings is in Latin, and one in Daedric and written in blood; and in one of the three places you can also find the Sixth House symbol; but I can't remember which one.

I just love anything to do with the Sixth House, I think it is one of the greatest creations Bethesda put into the Elder Scrolls - it never ends, never has to end because Dagoth-Ur proved they could rise again - and would!

That Netch is amazing!!! It looks so much more graphicly perfect than so many other creatures in the game! I do love the Betty Netches in ESO (actually my first time seeing a Netch!)

I LOVE the sunset shot; not because of the beautiful sky or land backdrop, but because Persephone is THAT HIGH UP IN THE SKY for the screenshot !!!!!!!!!!! Aren't those levitations timed? Won't she fall? I absolutely LOVE that she is up there like that !!!!!!!

Beautiful area! And Red Mountain in the background; but look in the foreground !!!! A Dunmer Stronghold !!!!! Which is it?

Azura's coast looks amazing, that water looks like it is rolling!

Have to love Azura !!!!

Awesome Shots !!!

Acadian: I really liked the Ashlands in Morrowind. They have a desolate beauty, in the way a desert landscape does (something I am sure you can relate to).

The Dwemer Ruins changed a bit from Morrowind to Skyrim. in MW they have tall, slender towers that tilt all over the place, topped with graceful curved roofs with sharply pointed spires. They look very much like fantasy castles that have fallen on hard times. Where in Sky they are big, thick towers with low, rounded domes. Very Byzantine looking. I think I liked the design of the MW version better.

I think it did come as a surprise to Vivec. In their conversation Persephone agreed to everything he said. In fact, she had even done some of the things he wanted her to. But apparently he never calculated that Dagoth Ur was not the only False God on the Living Dead Girl's hit list.

New Dawn was such a perfect image. The moment I saw it I knew I had to take a picture of that.

Lopov: I guess Umbacano made his fortune by robbing the glass mine he was in! laugh.gif

Vivec should have seen it coming. Persephone does not have the most amicable history with elves. Especially not ones who steal power from Shor/Lorkhan and pretend to be gods. She fought beside Pelinal Whitestrake after all, a real Shezarine. She knows both the wonder and horror that Shor's power brings all too well.

Dagoth should have brought at least a 12 pack, or a keg! laugh.gif I think he is wearing a mask too though. At least I hope that is a golden mask, and not what his head really looks like! ohmy.gif

It would be nice to complete Tribunal as well, and put a cap on the whole Morrowind experience. But I am just too burned out on that game right now. But I will probably get back to it someday.

mALX: Persephone did clean out Kogoruhn at some point. Her first time behind the GhostFence was from following its tunnels. That might be the place where the "Sleeper has awakened" writing was from.

Persephone no longer relies on levitation spells. She found the Boots of the Apostle early on, which made life in Morrowland much easier.

I think that stronghold in the Grazelands pic was Indoranyan. But I am not positive.

Morrowind has my favorite water in the ES games. I love how the surface rolls.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

BwaaHaa! Umbacano!!!!

These next few shots really struck me, because when this game first came out it was a pioneer in great graphics, and now looking at these it kind of reminds me how far we have come in this past decade - but Morrowind did have some awesome graphics, I think they just don't photograph as well as they look in game; especially when taking distance shots - it is a shame, too; because it doesn't even begin to represent the feel of seeing Morrowind and being in it.

Wow, I never made it to Vivec Ci...GAAAAAAH!!!!! You killed Vivec? GAAAAAH!

This Red Mountain shot is Awesome !!!

And then they have some great graphics like these!!! Ooh, Keening!!!!

Dagoth-Ur !!!! WOO HOO !!!!! I'm dying to know what he looks like behind the mask, did you get to?

And the Numidium - freaky looking!!!!!

Holy Cow!!!! I've seen vids, but never seen screens of the confrontation with Ur!!! These are amazing!!!! THIS is when the quest writers were at their best, this and the Arena storyline - I didn't find the same thrill at all in the main questline of Skyrim, sad to say.

It is really hard to say this, especially with screens of Persephone battling Dagoth-Ur; the Heart of Lorkhan; etc. = but the shot of Persephone at the end in "A new dawn" - I can't believe that is my favorite shot!!!! Why = There was a real feeling in that shot of just coming out the other side of a tremendous battle she almost didn't survive; having come through and being able to look at the realm that will be forever changed (for the good) by it. That comes through in that screen. Has to be my favorite!

Awesome, AWESOME shots!!! This whole set goes amongst my top favorite screens of all in your thread !!!

Well! Hi again. Months ago I'd hoped to be adding updates on my Skyrim characters Warm Waters and Gorlash and my necromancer... So many characters! However my Laptop is still in the shop (since February or March) and after hearing Fallout 4 will not be getting mods for the PS4 (the only system I have that will run the damned game) a familiar itch has started up. An itch than manifested in a need to return to Tamirel~

Now, I'll admit, my original idea was to play Oblivion and return to one of my fav Xbox games only, you know, on the PC. I however have made a COLOSSAL mess of that game file trying to mod it. Well. Not colossal. But there are a lot of missing meshes with Better Cities and the guards are floating bald heads carrying error signs and... Its a mess. SO! Next in line.. Morrowind, my old love! I've spent the last few hours modding it a little. Adding in stuff like Better Bodies and Heads, a Needs mod.. Better clothing n Armor. The Official Plugins.. All that nice stuff and now? Now I would like to introduce http://imgur.com/a/kouRu my Nordic Mercenary gal. First night in Morrowind and shes already murdered some smugglers, bought herself some gear, and is ready to pick up where she left off before the Imperials snatched her up and tossed her in jail.

I'm currently playing a Silanu character in Daggerfall, Morrowind, Oblivion and Skyrim. In most of those, she's not my first character, but Morrowind is the exception.

She's doing unarmoured, long blade, with a bit of alchemy, destruction, restoration to back that up. Speechcraft has had to catch up in a hurry, as the game seems to depend on that more than I was expecting. I've got a minimum of mods to start with, just better bodies with DMRA to make her look like she should, and I've had to tailor her boots myself to make things fit. Fortunately she wears very little. biggrin.gif

She could really use more health, but endurance has been shut out by her choice of armour and weapon. There's a catch-22 of not being able to use a spear to build it up because the lack of skill means it's not a viable weapon. She gets killed by rats if she tries to fight with a spear.

I haven't really got an impression yet on pacing the quests. There are a lot of places where there a minimum level requirements for quests to stop you getting them too soon, but of course, no indication that you'll find them much easier later. And with some having levelled enemies, that may not be the case.

She's doing Fighters, Mages, Imperial Cult, Hlaalu on the side, and trying to judge which ones help her forward.

She's just done the quest at the Ashlander burial site, and picked up Magebane, which may become her main weapon for a time.

Posted by: ghastley Dec 5 2016, 03:28 PM

Silanu is starting to run into the problem of not be able to advance in the house/guild ranks because she doesn't have enough levels in secondary skills. She's doing well in Long Blade (100) and Unarmored (75) and Speechcratft and Destruction are close to 50 as well. But most of the neglected skills (other weapons, L/M/H Armor) are still below 10. I probably made the "wrong" decisions at the start, but really hadn't chosen her path at that point.

Endurance remains an issue. Her only option for building that is to learn Spear, it seems.

Edit: I'm letting her buy a whole lot of training. She can easily afford it, and that's probably the only way she'll get enough skill levels to finish her House Stronghold.

----

An another subject, I'm playing around in the CS with a custom race, to see if Diablita can come to Morrowind. Creating a race with a custom body mesh and texture is working so far. I haven't made the hair/horns yet, but understand how to do that. The one issue left is finding out whether she can have a tail without beast animations. Even though her legs will be hooved, with a raised ankle joint, she still wants to walk like a man/mer, rather than an Argonian or Khajiit.

Edit: It does appear that the tail is tied to the "Beast" option on the race, and so comes with all the jerky walk animations etc. that I don't like. I can still give her a rigid tail, but that's just as bad. However, there are mods for things like animated wings, so maybe she'll get a tail that isn't a "tail".

On the plus side, she now has hair, horns, lower legs/hooves as intended, and has started to quest. I'll be seeing how Mash's profiles work out in Morrowind. Oblivion's worked well, Skyrim's were not so good, and needed manual resetting of the active mod list when switching.

She still needs some "outfit" work - piercings, chains etc. Lower-poly versions of the Oblivion ones should work. Silanu will probably benefit from that research, too.

http://ghastley.org/Morrowind/images/DiablitaMW1.jpg, and looking (not very hard) for things she can wear. Apparently rings, amulets and belts will all fit properly biggrin.gif

Posted by: ghastley Dec 11 2016, 05:44 AM

Since I made a Diablita, I needed an Angeline, too. That's easier, as she's just a blonde Breton in a lace dress. Except that I had to mix-and-match one hair shape with another's texture to get what I wanted. I did find the right dress in Korana's collection of mods, but had to translate the names into English before I could use it.

I'm finding it hard to get her started. I'm trying to play her as a mage, but she has little health that way and also runs out of magicka too quickly. I gave her a minor skill of spear, so she can build her health up, but probably should have made it major, as she can't hit anything yet.

Meanwhile Silanu is getting into her stride, and has just started the last phase of her Stronghold, and collecting support for Hortator. She's now wielding http://ghastley.org/Morrowind/images/SilanuChrysamere1.jpg instead of Magebane, and that thing hits HARD!

(I'm getting very tempted to try and make an actual outfit of stars.) biggrin.gif

And I almost forgot. Diablita now has a pitchfork at last. Equivalent to a steel spear for now.

Khajiit likes Diablita's style!

Posted by: ghastley Dec 12 2016, 03:54 PM

Since Khajiit was not here during her formative years, here is some background.

I was trying to create an http://ghastley.org/Oblivion/Docs/D_and_D.html that provided a pair of companions, Diablita and her sister Angeline. I ran into some insurmountable problems with it, and it never got published, but it did make its way into the Gweden Report story http://chorrol.com/forums/index.php?s=&showtopic=4822&view=findpost&p=145488.

Since then, Clark moved on to Skyrim, still not being the player character, and I chose Diablita to be the http://chorrol.com/forums/index.php?s=&showtopic=5762&view=findpost&p=234026, and recreated her there. Angeline was human, not elven, so she's long dead. Clark got made immortal, for services rendered to Daedric Princes.

My main Morrowind character for playing is also a transplant from Oblivion. Silanu Hlaalu is Falanu's sister, and one of the early http://chorrol.com/forums/index.php?s=&showtopic=4822&view=findpost&p=138564. She needed a custom body, so I starting making/adjusting Morrowind mods, which led to the Diablita/Angeline ones. I want (at least) three characters, so I can do each Great House line. Plus as many combat styles as possible, ...

Diablita currently has a mesh issue. In trying to make her leg seam blend better, I've made parts of them disappear completely!

Silanu has just been made Hortator of House Hlaalu, and is deciding between the next House quest, and the other Hortator quests to do next. We're also chasing the level/reputation path for the Fifth bypass, as the Ashlander ones look like a lot of walking (and therefore cliff racers).

Posted by: TheCheshireKhajiit Dec 12 2016, 09:13 PM

Lol, sounds like kink runs in Silanu's family! Falanu has... different... tastes in sexual practices too!

Posted by: ghastley Jan 2 2017, 05:05 AM

Silanu, Diablita and Angeline are progressing nicely, and each has just about completed the Great House quest series I assigned to them. (Diablita's legs re-appeared when I deleted a trailing space on a name in the .nif).

Silanu has done well with a big sword, Diablita with her pitchfork, and Angeline is using magic (although mostly Bound Spear, as she needs the Endurance/Health), so I didn't have an archer. Enilwen has now made the transition back from Oblivion, using regular and Bound bows. She's having slight problems with not advancing strength and endurance very fast, with only Armorer as a strength skill, and spear for endurance when they get too close.

I had to use the console to fix Diablita's game, as doing things out of order can break quests. When it's part of chain of quests, that breaks the whole series. Loading an earlier save was not an option, as too much had happened that I didn't want to repeat on other quest lines.

Nobody has the expansions active yet. I'll wait until the Main Quest is done.

Edit: Still no tail on Diablita, but I've installed LizTail's Animation Kit that promises to make that possible. I've also been working on clothing for the modified body shapes, after noting that most of Korana's are based on the same few meshes with varied textures using transparency. If I modify those base meshes to fit around the adjusted bodies, then all her clothes will work. Her spear (cloned from her original one at present) is now roughly daedric-equivalent in stats (but not actually daedric material).

Started Enilwen the archer (as nobody was yet using that skill). She'll likely not do any house quests, and just explore while following the MQ line as she levels up.

Posted by: ghastley Jan 5 2017, 02:55 PM

Anybody recognize http://ghastley.org/Morrowind/images/HeidiMW1.jpg from my Oblivion game, now transplanted to Morrowind?

I didn't make the body mod, just fitted the outfit to it. It's not complete, as I'm working on stockings, shoes, etc. to go with it, but the basic dress mesh is simply re-textured with various degrees of transparency for different lengths of sleeves and skirt, so this is just one of many.

The texture is from Korana's Clothiers of Vaardenfell, which has at least twenty based on the same mesh. She did the same with a pants mesh, and a torso mesh (for undies etc.) There's also a skirt-only subset of the dress mesh. Each of those has multiple textures applied, so I'll soon have the entire stock converted.

She needs different hair. That's just one of the two blond options in the Westly's head replacer I'm using. I can easily adapt a different style by mixing and matching meshes and textures intended for other races, and from other sources. Ditto with shoes. The body mod doesn't replace the feet, so there are lots of options. I'd like to find ones that cover the ankle join between the meshes, as the inventory pose distorts that.

I doubt if I'll bother releasing any Morrowind Mods, but you never know. If Diablita gets her tail ...

Your turn!

Posted by: ghastley Jan 11 2017, 03:53 PM

Angeline has paused after completing the Fourth and Fifth trials, to build herself up before going inside the Ghostfence to do that final huge quest. So she's going back to building Tel Uvirith, which had been on hold while she built up the ability to trap the right grand souls. That means she needs to advance her Telvanni rank to Master (which means Archmagister, as she already did the deed on her way to Hortator). So she's spending a lot of time at Tel Vos, and doing those quests. Buying a lot of training that I should have given her before now, to build up her stats.

Diablita is still looking for a tail, but progressing on the Ashlander quests to catch up with her sister on those. She already did her Redoran House quest line, however. The Hlaalu and Redoran strongholds are easier to get started, as they don't have the requirement for two grand souls that Tel Uvirith does. She'll probably head for Ald Daedroth next.

Silanu (Hlaalu Grandmaster) is at much the same point as Diablita, but has done a lot more miscellaneous quests, including Imperial Cult, and higher levels of Mages/Fighters Guild ones. She's been chasing artifacts more than questlines. She was the "explorer" character by design, so has probably made a lot of build mistakes.

Enilwen and Heidi are just getting started, and are having more training sessions than the other did, so they don't out-level themselves. Enilwen is doing Marksman, and I may try out the throwing weapons soon. Heidi will use Heavy Armour, as the others have all been Unarmoured (because of their signature outfits, and because the skill is only in Morrowind). Neither has joined a Great House, or Factions other than Fighters/Mages which they mainly use for training. They'll advance just enough to open all trainers.

I just noticed that there are significant steps in equipment stats between "beginner" gear, and the advanced stuff. Separating things into Light/Medium/Heavy means that you don't move up through them, unless you swap styles on the way. I know you can mix and match, but some combos just don't look right, even if they work well! Heidi will stay in Steel, until she can use Ebony, which will more than triple her AR.

I have the Anthology, so I installed Tribunal and Bloodmoon for the executable upgrades, but have not enabled the esm's yet for anyone. It's possible that I'll do so for either Enilwen or Hedi, to see how they interact with the early game. The other three will wait until the Morrowind MQ is completed.

Posted by: ghastley Jan 16 2017, 03:59 PM

So I downloaded the companion template by Grumpy from Emma's site, and started playing around with it.

Now Clark is in Morrowind with a http://ghastley.org/Morrowind/images/ClarkandcoMW1.jpg Diablita now has a tail, but it's not animated yet.

I just placed them next to him in Seyda Neen with the console. They really need a starting location to find them. Any suggestions?

Edit: I added another shipwreck to the North of Seyda Neen, balancing the one to the South. Nothing in it except the stowaways. Had to start another character to go get them, so I now have a Orc axe-wielder.

Posted by: ghastley Jan 17 2017, 02:56 PM

Diablita's solo game has just finished the MQ (barely, as wielding Keening with a Short Blade skill of 5 made it harder). She'll have Tribunal enabled while her sister and some friends catch up in their own games.

She and Angeline are continuing to accompany Clark, and I'll be working out some code to level her pitchfork, so she can continue to use that instead of needing inventory management by the player.

Posted by: ghastley Jan 23 2017, 04:51 PM

I gave Diablita a steel pitchfork at the beginning of her game, and upgraded that much later to a Daedric one (cloning the stats of the respective spears). She needed to embue the latter with a nominal enchantment to let it affect all enemies, and that will become important for her companion version. She used a fire damage / soul trap combo, so it fed itself (via Azura's star), but I'm wondering what would be a good enchantment for a companion? I'd also like to come up with an intermediate level of pitchfork between the two.

Steel spear/pitchfork: Chop 2-5, Slash 2-5, Thrust 6-17,
Daedric spear/pitchfork: Chop 2-9, Slash 2-9, Thrust 6-40, so
Intermediate: Chop 2-7, Slash 2-7, Thrust 6-28? That's about half-way between the dwarven and the ebony.

My current ideas:
Enchanted weapon at all levels - minimal fire damage of 1 to n points, with the upper level increasing between the three level of weapon.
Weapon should be preferable to any the player normally finds - with exceptions for the uniques. Her skills should bias toward spears, anyway.
Intermediate wants a distinct appearance, so maybe Dwarven? or Glass (which may be too high-level).

Angeline is more flexible, and I'm using her as an archer with Thudd (my big axe-wielding Orc). Both companions need a reason not to use alternate apparel, so Unarmored is a key factor, and I may have to script a "nothing else" limitation. I want keeping them alive to be part of the challenge, but not so much that it takes over.

Posted by: ghastley Jan 25 2017, 11:09 PM

An interesting observation from last night's play.

I needed to take on a tough, heavily-armoured opponent, and since my character had legitimately acquired an Amulet of Shadows, she used it, but found that her companions were quickly slaughtered. So I reloaded, told them to wait while Thudd did all the work. Their usual path-blocking behaviour suddenly became an asset, as they kept my opponent confined and he couldn't run away! As non-combatants, they didn't get attacked, and it was all much easier. tongue.gif

I need to do some work on their script, and make a mesh for the middle pitchfork. Adapted one from the Dwarven halberd, by doubling up the longer side and reshaping a little. Still needs the script change to replace it at an appropriate level.

Posted by: ghastley Jan 30 2017, 03:58 PM

Development on the Angeline and Diablita mod continues, but the latest change meant that I had to start a fresh character, as they now need personal scripts, instead of being able to share one.

So Thudd has been parked, just as she became Hortator of all the houses. "Hortator, that's a special kind of Hor, ain't it?"

I've rolled up Delilah, an Imperial in a black (thin) silk dress, with lots of personality, and endurance, and big hair. She's just reached level 4, and Diablita has the second pitchfork.

I now need to enshrine that need in her level-up script. That runs when the player levels up, so the obvious thing is to make the pitchfork level depend on player level, but I may base it on D's own skill with a spear. But if that's always going up at the same time, it may be moot.

Posted by: ghastley Jan 31 2017, 08:44 PM

Silanu just discovered that while wearing the Boots of Blinding Speed, she can get master-level training in Unarmored (Khargol gro-Boguk in the Vacant Tower near Dagon Fel). At last they're actually useful!

She now is at level 100 in both Long Blade and Unarmored, has 100 strength, and is desperately catching up on some others in preparation for a visit to Red Mountain. She may even visit Mournhold first, as there are spells you just can't buy anywhere else. She'd like to enchant a Constant Effect Fortify Unarmored on something, for example, and Fortify Skill is a rare effect.

Delilah may go get those boots, too. She's still trying to build up her Endurance, and will switch to throwing things once she's maxed that out. The visit to Dagon Fel for the training probably has an optimum level, and I'm trying to figure that out. Part of the equation will be easy use of the Greater Mark/Recall spells from the mod Improved Teleportation that lets Angeline and Diablita travel with her. Those added spells allow multiple locations to be marked, but the spells are harder to cast - higher skill / more magicka.

Posted by: ghastley Feb 3 2017, 03:36 PM

Thudd took a trip to Caldera, then walked up the road to find Pemenie, and took her to Gnaar Mok. With the Boots of Blinding Speed in her possession, she took a boat trip to Dagon Fel, and took a Master Class in Unarmoured from the Orc in the Vacant Tower, so now she has 100 in that skill, to go with her 100 Strength, and Endurance. It was expensive, but she's not wearing all those glass pieces, so she sold them.

Her Axe skill needs to be next, as well as some magical skills, so she can Enchant successfully. Not just Enchant itself, but others that raise Intelligence. If that helps with spells she uses, it's a bonus.

Since adding the twins required turning on Tribunal and Bloodmoon, she'll do a trip to get a Fortify Skill spell to use in enchanting. Fortifying her Unarmoured well past 100 will make it comparable to using Heavy. She's happy with her Orcish Battle-axe, and doesn't see anything in the game she likes better, but it may get enchanted in case of normal-immune enemies, and for a bit of extra damage as needed. I'm thinking of a "When used" rather than an "On Strike" enchantment, just for the tough ones.

---

Silanu did the quest to get the Ice Blade of the Monarch, and she's giving that a try. It has slightly lower base damage than Chrysamere, but more than makes up for it with the magical damage, while that's available. I'm not generally happy with weapons that can run out of charge, but this may be enough to win before it does so, and it's not a weak weapon when discharged.

---

Delilah is still low-level, and letting the twins do most of the work, as she's really testing them, rather than doing her own thing. I'm getting a decent idea of appropriate stats for the pitchforks, and may even need to add another at the top end. A regular Daedric spear is not all that powerful a weapon, and she could use a "unique" level one eventually.

Posted by: mirocu Feb 12 2017, 10:32 PM

Oh, my. You seem to have been quite busy in Morrowing, ghastley. I've only been visiting briefly and then it's business as usual on Solstheim. Little else kvleft.gif

Posted by: ghastley Feb 14 2017, 06:38 PM

I need to create a published mod before I decide I've "done" Morrowind, and it could either be the Angeline/Diablita companion set, or more likely just some rigged hair. I need to make that for those two, and I have a few player characters who want theirs rigged. It has taken a lot of fiddling and experimentation to find out how the one mod (MacKom's Skinned Hair) does it. That unfortunately only works with MacKom's heads, as the ears are part of the head, not the hair. Since all other head replacers don't have ears, I'm doing my own.

I've made quite a few outfits for the various characters I use, mostly because what they wanted to wear didn't fit their body (and I've tried most of them - Better Bodies, Roberts, DMRA, and my own edited variants of each of those), but because nobody else would have the same requirements, they'll stay private.

Posted by: ghastley Feb 16 2017, 08:14 PM

Thudd, the big Orc with the battleaxe, defeated Dagoth Ur last night, and will likely move on to Mournhold. She's trying to get the hang of enchanting first, so she can boost her Unarmoured with some Constant Effect items.

Her Diablita has been testing the unimesh hair (all parts including ears are a single NiTriShape with a single texture) that is the first step to rigged hair. I'm getting there slowly with the rigged hairstyles, and have only one fully working.

Hedi has had a change of hair (to a MacKom rigged style similar to her old one) and a change of body. She's now using a modifed Roberts mesh, which means her dress doesn't fit any more, but will soon. Since she wears the Fists of Ranagulph as part of her heavy armour outfit, she's at 123 strength somehow.

Delilah's hair keeps going wrong, but she's moved along a bit and is now looking for the Cavern of the Incarnate.

Silanu, and the player character instances of Angeline and Diablita get fired up from time to time, too. Enilwen the Archer may be the next to take on Dagoth Ur.

Posted by: ghastley Feb 22 2017, 09:05 PM

Thudd went to Mournhold, and has only a couple of quests before she confronts Almalexia. However, one of those requires some artifacts for the museum, so she'll have to do local quests to get some, or return to Vaardenfell for a while.

I got somewhat distracted by the process of creating skinned hair that doesn't clip into the back and shoulders when the head moves. Both Diablita and Angeline have hair that does so. I'm also experimenting with other bodies for Diablita, as I may wish to create a non-nude option for her, and it would also be nice to have her chains and tattoos from Oblivion, although as a transparent texture, rather than modelled.

The hair problem has also led me to investigate hats as separate clothing items (not linked to hair) using one of the available BB extra slots. This grew from investigating equippable ears, as the skinned hair came without them. That's still in the mix, as it would be fun to equip earrings, too (probably by swapping ears). I'm not sure if the chargen could be made to provide an extra option, or if hair and ears, (or head and ears) have to stay bound together. I suspect it's in the engine, but I hope I'm wrong.

Thudd is on the last quest of the main sequence in Tribunal, and finding that it's built to require certain skills and spells that she simply doesn't have, so we reloaded to let her gear up a bit.

She's unreasonably fond of her Orcish battle-axe, mostly because its minimum damage is higher than usual, even though the max isn't anything that special. She prefers 28-35 to 1-80 even though the average damage per swing is less, perhaps because progress is steady, not erratic.

Adding an enchantment to bring it up a little is on the cards. She has a Golden Saint soul in Azura's star, and was working on doing her own enchantments, when I find out how the "chance to fail" works. It looks like she needs to boost her Enchant skill, intelligence, and luck all at the same time to get any reliable results. I'd intended a constant effect boost to unarmoured first, but a weapon damage on strike may be what we do.

http://ghastley.org/Morrowind/images/ThuddBiceps.jpg, which looked a bit thin compared with the rest of her, and I'm researching ways to have the player character separate from the rest of her race. At least in Morrowind, each race has a separate mesh, so only the Orc women are big, or should that be BIG!!

I've also rolled up a Redguard to play with "Short Spears". I'm trying to create a one-handed Spear weapon, but so far it has to be classified as a long blade, probably because of animations, and so using them adds to the experience for that skill. The sword thrust animation looks OK, and with the damage stats biased that way, it gets used like a spear. http://ghastley.org/Morrowind/images/ShortSpear1.jpg http://ghastley.org/Morrowind/images/ShortSpear2.jpg The rest of her gear is new, but doesn't break any new ground.

I'd been working on Diablita's hair, trying to get it rigged to the skeleton, so it wouldn't clip into her back when she looked up. So that meant revisiting her solo game.

When I left off, she'd just defeated Dagoth Ur, and I didn't have the expansions active. Thudd had been to Mournhold, so Diablita got Solstheim. She was only level 20, so needed a bit more training, and has had to go back for more a few times.

In particular the quest to get the Nord eco-protester away from the mine entrance meant a few levels back in Vaardenfell raising her Hand-to-hand skill (from 5!). Now she's actively hunting for the unarmed berserkers and having a naked fist-fight to raise it further. I think I managed to catch a few non-indecent screenshots; I'll run through and pick some out soon.

Incidentally, most of the berserkers have been carrying the bear helm and boots in inventory, but not wearing them. I thought it was a consistent bug, until the last one I met was wearing both. Now I just don't know what's going on.

We found the smugglers quest a bit beyond us, so her Legion comrade is patient waiting back at the Fort for her to level up some more. Mus Roscius went down, but the others band together, and are a bit too much. Once her health can stand up, we'll be back! I let her use the Boots of Blinding Speed to train Unarmoured up to max, although she shouldn't really be able to wear them. That will help, too, as the game expects you to use at least Medium, or be a spell-caster. Naked with a pitchfork wasn't in the design.

She's about half-way through the Raven Rock quests, about to get into a bar brawl.

Posted by: ghastley Mar 13 2017, 06:16 PM

Diablita has now completed the Raven Rock quests, and has her house there. She's done most of the Skaal Village quests, too, and just has one more before the Hircine one (which I assume will be lengthy and hard, like the final quests in the base game and Tribunal.)

I restarted Clark, to test the latest changes to the Diablita and Angeline companion mod scripts. He's doing the Legion quests, as none of the ladies wanted to wear a uniform, so they haven't been done before.

Thudd's game was put on hold in the final Tribunal quest, as she has no way of passing the "speed trap", so I need to reload before the Clockwork City entry and go get an appropriate spell, and/or lighten her load enough to carry the elixirs the fabricants drop. Considering that she has no armour, and 120 strength with Ranagulf's gauntlets, she's carrying a lot of clutter right now.

Lwanda is still playing with short spears and throwing weapons. She's done a couple of Hortator/Nerevarine sets, but hasn't completed either trial yet. I'm wasting her playing time looking for a way to make her shield not lower her defence rating (she has 100 Unarmoured now, so adding ANY shield lowers defence!)

Angeline is putting her feet up at Tel Uvirith, and contemplating re-decoration/rebuild, while her identical twin runs around with Clark. Silanu may get a run at Dagoth Ur soon. She'll need a bit of fill-in training first, to raise a few stats and overall level.

Thudd - 1 : Almalexia - 0

After instant replay, because the soul trap didn't take the first time. sad.gif

Edit: I also took my Bosmer archer Enilwen to go battle Dagoth Ur, but she met one more Greater Bonewalker than she had Restore Strength potions, and had to return to Ald'ruhn for a re-stock. She does have Sunder and Keening, so she can make a more direct approach on her next trip. We'll probably also pay the mudcrab a visit, to sell off her heavy loot, so that won't be an issue next time.

Prior characters have all had 100 Strength by this time, but as an archer, she's maxed Agility instead. I need to adjust my play style to match hers. kvright.gif

Today (3/21) she managed to get back there, missed a shortcut, but eventually re-entered the Citadel and killed Dagoth Ur, or rather did the heart-disable that eliminates him. Again the collapse of Akulakhan failed to happen - I've had it work only once in three visits - but the quest advanced anyway.

My replacement Azura (Daggerfall-style) was bald. I have some issue with her hair alpha that I'm still trying to figure out, but I have a save just before the scene so I can re-test as much as I like.

Hah! Found one!

http://ghastley.org/Morrowind/images/Diablita_Berserker_1.jpg is about the only screen capture without flailing boobies showing all over.

I shot a series with one wearing the bear helm, but they'd all need retouching.

Posted by: ghastley Mar 27 2017, 10:36 PM

Thudd used her Azura's star filled by Almalexia to add to her Orcish Battle-axe. It now does Soul Trap (to feed itself) plus a random amount of Damage Health (1-50). She named it Big Hurt. At her level, she can beat most things to a pulp with her fists, so she may go Berserker-hunting on Solstheim soon. She got a five-point boost to Unarmored from Almalexia, and enchanted one ring already with 24 more, so she's reached around AR 100 at a skill level of 129.

I've been running some more of my lower-level test characters through the MQ, mainly to test the rigged hair I've been working on. Delilah and Arwina essentially have the same hair, in black and blonde, with round and elven ears respectively. Delilah is two-handed long blade, Imperial, The Lady. Arwina is pure(?) mage, Altmer, Atronach. Delilah has the twins in tow, Arwina going solo. They're both still in single-digit levels, but not for long.

Lwanda wants me to sort out the shield problem (she loses defence by equipping one) as she needs to wear one for screen shots. biggrin.gif Her outfit has had a retexture, using assets from Bloodmoon, but is still minimal, so as not to reduce her AR.

Posted by: ghastley Apr 5 2017, 06:16 PM

Continuing testing of rigged hair and the D&D twins with Delilah, who is now Archmagister of House Telvanni. I added Uvirith's Legacy to her game, to see how they behave with another mod running that uses companions.

I found an error in Diablita's leveling script that stopped her getting a better pitchfork, but I haven't completely fixed it. Now she gets an extra one.*

I also get a strange situation where they leave the PC and go heading for some distant location. They usually break out of it when they get into combat, but that requires following them, as they only fight in support of the PC. I'm unsure if that is a direct result of adding UL, or just that the trigger for it is more likely now.

I should post a few screen-shots, now I have an alternate body for Diablita with a bikini. I'll take a few of Lwanda's new hut while I'm at it.

----

Edit: * It turned out not to be just one. An error in the level-up logic gave her 1700+ Daedric ones, and ~400 Dwemer ones, and she couldn't walk for the weight of them.

I have a breton battlemage named Mercer who I adventure with every once in a while. Upon his arrival in Vvardenfell he joined up with the Mages Guild, although he eventually found the Great House Telvanni to be a better fit for his eccentric personality and desire for greater magical power. He's advanced quite quickly through the ranks of the Telvanni, most recently gaining Master Aryon's support as his Mouth after completing a few errands for him. Mercer likes Aryon the most out of the Telvanni master wizards... he seems just a little more open-minded and present.

Now he's travelling from Tel Vos to Fort Buckmoth. He's also the Nerevarine (not that he even really knows what that is yet), and has been gradually completing a series of missons for the Blades agent Cauis Cosades, the most recent of which involves investigating a supposed 'Sixth House' base.

I'm not sure how much I'll be playing Mercer's game ATM - most of my gaming is with Eldys right now - but Morrowind is a nice change of pace so I'm sure I'll have some adventures to update you guys on every now and then. smile.gif

Went back to Morrowind for a bit more Uvirith's Legacy, this time with a character that's ignoring the MQ, and just concentrating on being Telvanni. She's reached Archmagister, and is just finishing the additions to her tower. I'm getting tempted to download a few more mods that expand the surrounding area into a complete city.

And I've also re-visited Heidi's game. She'd really like a full set of Daedric Armour, but of course the pauldrons are only in the expansions, one per. And she won't be wearing the cuirass, because it wouldn't fit. biggrin.gif However, at 100 in HA, she has 118 AR from just the boots, greaves, and her Eleidon's Ward and Fists of Randagulf. She also has 100 in Long Blade, and is using a Daedric Katana (unenchanted at present). The Fists add Strength, which she needs to carry that heavy Daedric stuff. I can't get that past 120 (20 of which come from the Fists).

Lucrezia is an Imperial who likes poisoned daggers. Since they're light, she collects them, so she can switch when one runs out of charge, and keep up the stabbity, stab, stab with added venom. Trying to be sneaky with her too, but backstab's not what I'd like it to be. Maxed Unarmored (with help from Boots of Blinding speed to get Master Training) and Short Blade is almost there, too. Will raise enchant, so she can make her own poisoned daggers.

I looked in on my other characters, but Lwanda is happy hunting deadra in the Grazelands, and doesn't really want to progress beyond that. Thudd has done everything an Orc wants to do, too. I may have to play Clark a bit more and let the sisters loose again.

I can't get that past 120 (20 of which come from the Fists).

It was Morrowind's turn again this weekend, so Heidi finished off her House Hlaalu quests, including building her stronghold, and finally dealt with that Dagoth Ur nuisance as well. That left her not much she wanted to do on Vaardenfell, so we started down the path toward the first of those Daedric Pauldrons. So far, she's seen off the Dark Brotherhood, and the Goblin Army, and has just helped cleanse the ancient shrine beneath the Temple.

She'd happily go charging in to the tomb where the pauldron is waiting, but the entrance doesn't open up until right at the end of the expansion, so there are a lot of pre-requisite quests to do. She might also consider another trip back for training, so she can raise her unused skills to get levels (and the resulting health increase). It's getting hard to avoid Intelligence skills, and she might not be a dumb blonde for much longer. ohmy.gif

Edit: We went into the dwarven ruin to fetch the pauldron last night, so her armour is up to 149. That was ahead of the usual sequence of the quests, so now she has to decide whether to continue the Tribunal quests and take down Almalexia, or move on to Bloodmoon and go looking for the other pauldron.

Further edit: We went for the Bloodmoon option. It turned out that she was able to just take the boat over and march up the middle of the island, opposed only by wolves, a couple of spriggans, and a few reavers that weren't well-coordinated. The rieklings near Castle Kaarstag were a bit more of a nuisance, as they actually managed to attack in pairs! Then she levitated up to the tower, killed the one riekling on guard, and came back out with the other pauldron. We've left all the quests untouched, and may come back later to do some.

Also did a side-trip to pick up Auriel's Bow, took it to Mournhold to enable the topic, and then swapped it with Therana for a Daedric Cuirass and greaves (with feather enchantment). I re-tailored the items for her, and she's now well-enough armoured to consider the Lost Hand quest back in Mournhold. AR=251.

Wearing Daedric makes encumbrance an issue. Her armour, sword and shield add up to 380 so without added strength from the gauntlets, and the feather enchantments, she'd get stuck every time she met a bonewalker. She has a ring enchanted just for those occasions.

Latest: She now has an extra 5 points of Heavy Armor skill from Almalexia's reward, so her AR has gone up further. She's retrieved all the pats of Trueflame, and is waiting out the two-day remake in misc quests. She already got the Pyroil Tar on her first trip, as that's in the area before the one with the pauldron she wanted. So the re-enchanting will go quickly, even if the Clockwork City slog won't.

Posted by: ghastley Aug 14 2017, 01:56 PM

Heidi took on Almalexia and failed. Trueflame doesn't harm A as much as it should because she's immune to fire, and Heidi ran out of health potions just before the end. So she'll restart from an earlier save and go back with a bigger supply.

Meanwhile, Clark has been doing the Legion quests (which I'd not done before) with his companions Angeline and Diablita.

He started off looking http://ghastley.org/Morrowind/images/ClarkInMufti.jpg.

But now http://ghastley.org/Morrowind/images/ClarkInUniform.jpg

http://ghastley.org/Morrowind/images/DiablitaFollows.jpg

And http://ghastley.org/Morrowind/images/DragonKnight.jpg

That means he's wearing the Lord's Mail, and wielding Chrysamere. He also has Templar Greaves, Boots and Helm, and uses Imperial Chain Pauldrons as they go better with the cuirass (and are surprisingly high-rated).

We're considering retirement, and not doing the whole Hortator/Nerevarine thing. The big question is where to live.

Last Seed 18, Mid-morning

Yor Assizmyyn has been spending several days in Seyda Neen, getting to know his new surroundings (while I spend time getting to know this game, and how things work). So far, he's got a crush on one of the Dunmer ladies there, who noticed he was hurt. She actually said that: "You are hurt," with a touch of concern in her voice. Even though this is 'just a videogame' I actually shed a tear over that moment. And it surprised me that she said this to Yor at all, know what I mean?

Anyway, Yor is nowhere near to being the bad-ass he wants to be. emot-ninja1.gif He's got only 56 gold, seems to have lost the armor he bought a day ago, and it's raining, and he has nowhere to sleep. He's going to try to sleep on the very top of the lighthouse, where there's at least a warm fire by his side.

Resting is illegal though. ... and even worse, it doesn't allow him to regain any health. ohmy.gif But once he awakes (after 4 hours) at least the rain has ended. He spends the rest of the day looking for ingredients he can collect and sell.

Nice. He looks like a medieval dandy in this one.

Posted by: ghastley Aug 15 2017, 02:53 PM

The sleeping rules are the hardest part of the game to get used to. You can walk out of town, and you'll cross some invisible line between "can't sleep" and "can sleep", and you won't be able to see any difference between the locations.

And later in the game, you'll start to get people attacking when you rest, more so if you have the expansions active. So turn it on its head, and go clear out the nearest cave, and you'll have your safe place to sleep. In fact, my recollection of the very start of the game was that if you managed to kill the first enemy in the nearest cave, you could rest by the fire there before moving in and clearing the rest of it. I've read that some players have made that their home, as it's right next to a Silt Strider stop, making it easy to return.

My Lucrezia, the poisoned/enchanted dagger specialist, is doing the circuit of the Ashlander camps to convince them she's the Nerevarine. She's just got the request for a Telvanni broad bride, and is headed for the slave market.

Clark is settling in to his quarters in the Ebonheart Council Tower, courtesy of a mod I downloaded and butchered to his tastes. There's a nice big canopy bed there, and Diablita and Angeline expect it to get used.

Posted by: ghastley Aug 21 2017, 01:39 PM

Lucrezia finished the Fourth and Fifth Trials, but detoured a bit to do the Morag Tong quest-line.

So now she has a decent http://ghastley.org/Morrowind/images/Lucrezia%20Apartment.jpg in Vivec, as Grandmaster.

She may well stall at this point, as I started another Smurf in Skyrim to work on the house mod.

Ha ha well... Yor did try to take down the first lady he saw in that cave. He got a few decent hits in, but she then demolished most of his health with some sort of lucky strike. So he high-tailed it out of there! Last I saw, he was collecting ingredients around the Seyda Neen area so he can sell them for money.

He bought a chitin cuirass and boots, but *oops* that's when I remembered his Class is Knight, meaning that he really should be wearing heavy armor, not light. Chitin == Light. Ooops.

It's all good though. He managed to find the next town over from SN. It's got an inn, so at least he doesn't have to sleep in rain anymore.

Posted by: ghastley Aug 21 2017, 06:33 PM

The armor class isn't all that important to early combat, as any armor increases your defence, (unless you raise the Unarmored skill, in which case it could go down when you wear it). But using a weapon you're not skilled with is futile. Make sure you buy or find one that's for a skill you have at least 15 points in. Later you can afford to train up to match what you have, but at the start, a different weapon is the cheap path. A Knight wants a long blade, so grab a sabre as the best bang for the buck. You'll want to get training in Marksman or a magic school to give you a ranged attack later. Again, under 15, and you won't get a hit, or your spell will fizzle.

Most of my characters in Morrowind have used Unarmored, just because it wasn't in any of the other games. When I created http://ghastley.org/Morrowind/images/ShortSpear2.jpg gear, I had to script her shield so that it wouldn't decrease her armor rating when she equipped it! They've also bought the Devil Spear from Ra'vir to build up their Conjuration and Spear, because any class benefits from Intelligence and Endurance, as they translate directly to health/magicka. Even if it's just a backup weapon, it helps.

Endurance is the one you want to max first, as this contributes to your health (hit points) every level. A Knight doesn't have that as a top attribute, so needs to built it fast. The Heavy armour helps there, so you may be able to ignore Spear. The other skill that builds Endurance is Medium Armor, and you'll wear Heavy instead. Armor Skills increase when you get hit, so I prefer to use Spear as then the opponents are taking the pain. tongue.gif

Posted by: Renee Aug 22 2017, 01:50 AM

Cool, thanks for all your advice there. smile.gif Yes, he's been thinking of archery, since this is a good way to make sneak-attacks. Yes I was noticing his Health is really low at just 45. So Endurance makes sense to build up first.

Lwanda's shield looks stunning, did you make that?

As it turns out, Yor Azzizmyyn went into Pelagiad's fort and spoke to some of the guards in there about joining up with the Legion. He's supposed to go to some other fort / town if he wants to do this.

He's not going anywhere soon though. I'm not sure if it's considered stealing, but he grabbed a bunch of heavy armor which was in this fort, in crates or just lying around. So now he's mostly-kitted up in Heavy Armor. Is this stealing? We don't know. So he snuck around as he was taking stuff.

He also bought a longsword from one of the merchants in town. Went for a walk and made his first kills: two mudcrabs located along some shoreline! ... He then got more confidence to return to that cave near Seyda Neen. Went back there, totally pwned the initial baddie he found. But later on there was this wizard in there who removed almost all of Yor's health with just one fire-blast.

The weirdest thing about this game so far isn't the fog, or the mushroom trees, or the otherworldly feel of the game, it's NOT being able to sit down. laugh.gif That'll be one thing I'll see if I can mod once I start Morrowind on PC. I'll also see about changing the character walk animations. And the menu text looks like it's written in some modern font, something even more generic than Arial. Gonna change that. This game deserves a more gothic-looking menu font.

Posted by: ghastley Aug 22 2017, 02:34 AM

The problem will be that there not only are no sitting down animations (in the later games you need three - sit down, sitting idle, stand up) but there are no furniture markers to indicate where you can do them. And the engine doesn't have the concept of furniture, making it hard to add them.

I made some of the shield. The handles were on another shield, as the easiest method was to replace the panel of an existing one. The script was the hard part, making it put back the AR it took away from her Unarmoured level.

The Legion will actually give you a decent set of Heavy as you progress, each time you level up in their ranks, you get a new piece, or a better replacement for one they gave you at an earlier rank. They may not be as good as you can find or make, but they'll sustain you, and they're not as heavy as the top-end stuff. A full set pf Daedric armour plus weapon is about all you can carry with maximum strength. You need strength boosting equipment, or feather enchantments to use it. And you can't get a full set without the Tribunal and Bloodmoon expansions anyway. Legion/Heavy is a good way to go.

Posted by: Renee Aug 29 2017, 10:24 PM

Okay, I see what you're saying about there not being any way the game's engine can make people sit down. Bummer. I'm not sure if he will join the legion actually, we shall see.

Well it is Last Seed 24 (Day 7) and the sun is going down. And I'm pretty sure Yor got attacked by his first cliff racer. The thing was flying and it had this long tail with (what looked like) a stinger on its end. Yikes.

The thing is, Yor was winning the fight. He was getting some good hits on the creature, whatever it was. But then tables turned, and Yor's health began to fall. Dammit! I really wanted to destroy that thing! Yor had to run though. He's got a healing ring, but this item barely renews any health. sad.gif

He ran between as many mushroom-trees and boulders as he could. This seemed to slow the creature down. It kept hitting my Dunmer though. Luckily, Yor managed to find that magic spot. The creature got stuck perhaps. We can still hear it somewhere in the distance! Spooky. Sun is going down though. Time to head back to Pelagiad. Hopefully Yor made some decent money today, picking up ingredients and such.

++

Edit: he's now in a cave called Adanumuran, which is full of Dunmer baddies and nix hounds. But good news: Yor Azzizmyyn is living up to his name! Again and again, 'your ass is mine." It feels good to knock some enemies down for a change.

Posted by: SubRosa Aug 29 2017, 10:37 PM

That was a Cliffracer. They have a very distinctive cry. As far as I recall, they are the only flying critter in Morrowind. Get used to it, there will be one every ten feet later in the game.

Posted by: Lopov Aug 30 2017, 08:03 PM

When you get Morrowind on PC, Renee, the first mod to install will be the one to make cliffracers less aggressive. biggrin.gif

Posted by: ghastley Aug 30 2017, 08:43 PM

My latest Morowind character is a pirate wench, using some of Korana's pirate resources pack. I made her a shirt that's more like Clarisse's from Skyrim, but haven't worked out how to give her a hat yet. That would be relatively easy if I hadn't wanted rigged hair, as the hat and hair could be combined as one item. Rigging the hair means it must be a single mesh and texture, or it won't work. She's using a Steel Sabre as it's reasonably cutlass-like but I have a Korana Cutlass that I'll add later for an upgrade.

She's also using the Devil Spear to raise her Endurance as fast as possible, combining that with Heavy/Medium armor training, even though she's Unarmored. The sabre (long blade) is keeping her Strength progressing, too. Once she hits 100, the Spear will drop.

She's marked the ship Grytewake (near Gnaar Mok) as her future home, and already killed off (legally, after taunting) the sailors who are not on deck. However, the captain is level 16 and she's only level 5, so she has to wait a while before she can manage him (or maybe just use the Amulet of Shadows after the fight starts).

The ebony she's looted from the ship is paying for a lot of training, so she's soon be ready for another attempt to board and seize. There's more than she can carry, so it's several trips, but she has amulets of Almsivi Intervention, Divine Intervention, Mark and Recall. She's literally marked the ship, and so amulet each way between there and Balmora.

She joined the Fighters and Mages Guilds for services, and is doing some of the FG quests. Not doing MQ, and hasn't visited Caius Cosaides at all. That has meant no Blades Trainers freebies, but she's doing OK with the FG quest payments. Once the ship is hers, she'll probably go freelance and start exploring tombs and caves nearby.

Edit: She went back after a couple of levels and took over the ship. Grytewake is now home. Took a few screeshots, but forgot to copy them over to the web server, so you can't see them yet. kvright.gif

She has a good collection of amulets, now having added Slowfalling and Levitation ones to the travel set. She made a ring to restore strength as a precaution against bonewalkers, and wants a similar "on use" item for health. There are enough of those to wait until one turns up, except for the rule that says that you never find what you want.

Posted by: Renee Sep 1 2017, 01:27 AM

Your wench sounds fun to play, g. Is it easier modding outfits and appearance stuff into Oblivion or Morrowind? I'd imagine Morrowind is easier, huh? Although maybe not. It seems simpler to me, but maybe this also means there aren't as many options, huh?

Last Seed 28, late night

Ugh. Cliff racers are no fun. Luckily, Yor hasn't encountered another. He saw one in the distance a couple days before the 28th, but he made sure to keep low, and get nowhere near the thing.

Right now he is in Addamasartus, that same small cave near Seyda Neen where he'd previously got chased away by that wizard. Well...not this time. THIS time, my dark elf got a rather cunning idea. He noticed (as he walked into the cave) that the same wizard was stading ready. He yelled at Yor, and began throwing fire spells....

.... straight into a pillar. Seriously, all Yor had to do was occasionally duck into the guy's line-of-fire, but then dodge behind the pillar, and the wizard would just throw his spells straight into this stone. Or he would miss the pillar but also miss Yor. Which doesn't seem very bright. Would the wizard keep thowing his magic into an inanimate object? ... Turns out the answer is "Yes." As long as Yor kept on dodging behind that pillar, the wizard kept throwing his spels.

Would the wizard continue to throw his spells, until the point he lost all his magicka? Turns out, the answer is "yes." Yor then got the idea: this fetcher is going to come after me, when his magicka runs out. Would this happen? ... Yes it did. And that was Malar Borom's doom. He came after Yor Azzizmyyn, wielding nothing more than a cheap daggar, and wearing nothing more than robes.

Your ass is mine! Yes it is, Yor. Good job.

All I can really say about the modding of outfits is "different" The Morrowind game allows layered clothes, but they also cover more than one body slot, so the assignment gets complex. And Better Bodies makes it even more interesting by making some of the body slots free for extra items, so a dress (like Angeline's) may use the left ankle slot.

http://ghastley.org/Morrowind/images/AnneB1.jpg

Because her shirt doesn't hide her chest, it's not defined as chest slot, so it doesn't replace it. Instead, it's another left ankle, and her pants are just left knee.

An inquiry about porting my Skyrim Vampirella mod had me making a version of her for Morrowind. I spent the holiday weekend with her building her Unarmored and Hand-to-Hand skills, until she could destroy the Vampire clans of Vaardenfell with her bare hands. Now she's looking for any others to exterminate.

That all meant doing a bunch of other things along the way. She's raised Spear for the Endurance (needed for Health increase) as she's not using Heavy/Medium armour. She's trained those for levelling purposes, however. She did the Main Quest up to corprus immunity, so she can't catch vampirism herself, and she's trained up Agility and Willpower to help with Fatigue. The Agility also helps with the H2H combat. The Boots of Blinding Speed let you train Unarmored with the Master, as your effective Speed is 200+, so that was her first skill maxed.

Her suit and boots didn't take long to make. The major effort was making her hair, as nothing existing looked right, and I wanted rigged long hair anyway.

I'm still trying to get some representative screen-shots. I really need three hands for that. One to hold tab for vanity mode, one to click the mouse button for the punch, and the third to press the print screen key at the right time. Weighting down the tab key has the problem that I need to let it up to reposition her if her target moves. If anyone knows of another method of toggling vanity mode, it would help.

I've done that before: held three buttons down just to get a screenshot, usually some sort of action shot. Not in this game though. In my case, it usually involves a couple fingers on my controller, with one on the keyboard or mouse. panic.gif

I started a new gal yesterday (it was one of those sunny, humid days when rain just sort of shows up unannounced out of nowhere). Her name is Miss Terri, and she's a Sorcerer. I had some trouble with her name. Nobody in medieval times used "Miss" or "Mister" (etc.) as far as I know, but oh well. I've been bouncing that name around, Miss Terri, for years now. Finally I'm using it. Anyway, yesterday was my daughter's first day of school so I hadn't the time to game with Terri much yet. I'm not sure what I'm going to do with her yet. I need to learn the game a little more and then give her some sort of starting mission, because she ain't doing the main quest. And neither is Yor.

Yor Azzizmyyn on the other hand is up to Level 4. He's become much more confident, and actually got to L4 by pwning multiple cliff racers, along with a few of these large, carnivorous guar-looking creatures. He met some dark elf lady along the road, and she wants him to take her to some location up north, but Yor merely took her back to the inn of Pelagiad. Because she's his girlfriend right now, ha ha.

I've been playing a couple of Unarmoured/Hand-to-hand characters to try out a few options, and I'm finding that H2H is quite viable, but tedious. You rapidly reduce your opponent to being unable to harm you, but then it takes forever to finish them off. I've worn out the left button on one mouse already.

So I started looking at ways to boost the damage dealt, and even 100% more skill (from an enchanted ring) doesn't have much effect. So I looked into even higher levels by applying the same enchantment multiple times, and even a Golden Saint soul can't get much more than I already have. It's either a limited amount of boost to the skill, or an inadequate time to use it, as those trade off against each other. The higher levels would shorten the fight, but not enough to offset the shorter duration. It looks like the fortify will wear off too soon whichever way I choose, even if the cast drains the ring completely.

Presumably the only way to get a quick kill using H2H is to use Vivec's or Almalexia's soul, and getting those will take hours without it.

H2H is also not very good against multiple opponents, because of the slow fights. You may incapacitate one of them, but the others have all the time in the world to attack you while you deal the first one.

Lopov had a character who used hand-to-hand primarily. You guys are patiently brave.

Last time I saw Yor Azzizmyyn he discovered Vivec. Good lord. Overwhelming! He went there because he's desperate for something to do, in his quest to become rich. He's joined the Fighters Guild, which has given his first task, but we have no idea where to go. He needs to retrieve some ring from some other person in some other Canton.

I got about that far yesterday when the sun came out (outside, the real sun) and I only play ES games when it's drab outside.

Now that's a real town, eh? Very easy to get lost there and even when you think you already explored it in full, there's always something new to discover. Vivec has its own sewer system too. wink.gif

Posted by: Renee Sep 11 2017, 10:57 PM

Mm hmm, you said it. I wonder how we'll ever be able to figure our way around Vivec? You know me and my crappy memory. I hope I don't have to rely too much on my memory to get around. panic.gifI noticed there's more than one of these huge buildings, but I don't see much difference between them, you know what I mean? Compound all of this with the fog...

I just hope there's some sort of signposts, at least. Like on roads, it points our way toward different places.

Wow, there are apartments? Not just inns, but apartments we can rent? That's what this NPC is telling Yor right now.

Posted by: SubRosa Sep 11 2017, 11:10 PM

I disabled the fog, which makes the game look so much nicer. The http://en.uesp.net/maps/mwmap/mwmap.shtml. Though you would need to view it on a laptop or tablet while you play.

Posted by: Renee Sep 12 2017, 10:21 PM

Thanks for the link. I remember Wyrd saying several times how he missed the fog, once he started Oblivion. He even modded his game so it was constantly foggy. Well, not me. biggrin.gif

Heartfire 14 (Day 30)
-- Yor managed to finish his very first quest, which was a fetch quest. He did figure out a little system for finding our way around Vivec: he dropped heathers in several key places, so he would know important areas to make a turn, or go through particular doors. He was able to find the Hlaalu Canton and fetch the ring, and bring it back to some orc in the FG.

His next quest is pretty vague. The Fighters Guild next wants him to go find some inn (or tavern) in Ald'ruhn. Doesn't say where Ald'ruhn is though, or even what it is (a town? a temple? Good lord). Yor has an idea though. He's going to try walking up to one of the stilt strider areas. Maybe there's an option to travel there by riding one of those giant insects.

You can assume that somewhere big enough to have an inn or tavern is a town. However, the Silt Striders go to some towns, and not others, and even then you may need to make a few stops.

The boats go to towns that aren't served by Silt Striders, and again there may be changes of boat involved. And a few places, like Vivec, Khuul, and Maar Gan, have both. The oddball one is Seyda Neen, where you arrive by boat, but never see another, although it does have a Silt Strider. You'd think you could get there by boat, but you can't.

The propylon circuit only goes around the Dunmer Strongholds (which aren't towns, and don't have inns).

I don't recall anywhere that has an inn or tavern that's not reachable by boat or Silt Strider. The Mages Guild Guides don't add any, as all the locations served have boat or Strider, or both.

I don't understand why there is no in-game source of travel information, such as a book that lists the connections. You don't even get a minimal map that shows the major locations, so you don't know if a travel destination is actually closer to or farther from your goal.

Posted by: Renee Sep 14 2017, 11:17 PM

Okay, thanks for the advice there, especially with visiting different silt striders and boatmen. I didn't know they go different places, and there was one of each in Vivec we can check out too.

I am pretty surprised about how vague these quests are. Especially after hearing for years how "Morrowind does it right!" I thought the directions and descriptions from various NPCs are supposed to be so much better than latter games. *shrugs* Luckily, I am the type of gamer who likes figuring things out, but still.

Heartfire 18: Yor managed to get his second quest done (not the Fighters Guild quest, but a random one). This was offered by a man in Sedya Neen. He wanted Yor to go find out where some other person is hiding a bunch of loot. The suggestion was to "go up on top of the lighthouse at night" to watch for this person.

But we never saw this person, whose name is Fargoth. Never saw him. Maybe it's because it rained the entire night. Yor got bored after waiting around for hours, and began searching the town on his own. After a couple hours, he found Fargoth's hidden loot! ... And quest #2 is done.

Another cool moment: while waiting on top of that lighthouse a cliff racer showed up right on the edge of Seyda Neen. It tried to fly around and attack the townspeople, but it got stuck on the wooden deck area surrounding the light house. Got stuck, and began glitching out. A guard rushed over, but he too got stuck. It was up to Yor to save the day.

Yor actually JUMPED off the lighthouse, landed on the cliff racer's back, and then tried to hit it from above. laugh.gif I was like "You idiot!" rollinglaugh.gif He fell off the creature's back of course, and took some damage when he landed. but he manged to finish off the enemy on his own. viking.gif

Heartfire 23 (Day 39)
Yor ascended to Level 5, and I put x2 into Agility, X2 into Endurance, and X1 into Luck. He needs more luck.

Did manage to find Ald-ruhn by the way. A couple NPCs told Yor about the Mage's Guild, which offers a teleport service into Ald'ruhn's guild for a low price. Once Yor was there, he finished the quest. Got this one troublemaker to leave the village. And he got paid 500 gold just for doing this too! That seems an extreme amount of money, just to make somebody leave town.

He also did a side-quest while he was in Ald'ruhn too. Some person bought an expensive amulet from the village's clothier, but defaulted on making payments for this amulet. Yor was supposed to talk to this guy too, but the guy wouldn't cough up any extra drakes. Long story, but Yor began to search the guy's house and he flipped out. Began attacking Yor. Yor had no choice but to fight him to the death. viking.gif And I hate to say, but Yor looted the man's body, which might be going too far. But the guy had some very expensive items on her person, including the amulet.

He returned to the clothier, got paid a small amount, but made a bunch of money from selling various items from that NPC's house.

Ald'ruhn is really neat by the way. There was this reddish ash storm going on when Yor got there. I figured this storm would just go on forever, but after a day it died down, and weather was pleasant. This area of the game reminds me a lot like ome other planet.

Posted by: SubRosa Sep 16 2017, 05:47 PM

Now Yor has a house. Seriously, you cannot buy a home in Morrowind. The only way to get one is to kill someone and then move into their house. There is a house in Seyda Neen my characters usually move into early, that is owned by an NPC who you end up killing as part of a quest that starts in Seyda Neen.

Otherwise you have to use mods to get a home for you character.

I like the Redoran building style best of all. Like you said, it looks like something built by aliens, and when the ash storms kick up it feels like you are on Mars.

Posted by: ghastley Sep 16 2017, 07:28 PM

Well, sort of. The three Great House quest lines let you build a stronghold that becomes your own home. In each one (you can only join one of the three) you have to kill the NPCs who live in the other two, so if you do them all - with three characters - then you've killed the owners in each one (twice). But in any single game you do get a home without killing the current occupant.

Several of the quest lines end up with a home becoming yours, and surprisingly the Morag Tong one gives you the choice of not killing the current Guild Master before taking over his apartment. He'll just retire to obscurity, and you never see him again.

Posted by: Renee Sep 18 2017, 02:29 PM

That's weird. No houses in the vanilla game? I think in Daggerfall we could get a house (or several) right?

Yor's pretty content with staying in Fighters Guild barracks. He also really likes Pelagiad's inn. That's where he tends to go, in between his various adventures, to tell the static NPCs there all about life on the outside.

Posted by: Lopov Sep 21 2017, 09:21 PM

By doing the MQ you also get a house in Balmora once a certain quest-giver leaves Vvardenfell.

And I think (though I could be wrong) that by completing the TG questline you can also sleep in the room where the former guildmaster was found. And you don't have to kill him for that.

Posted by: mirocu Sep 23 2017, 04:44 PM

Regarding accommodations, you can get that room in Thirsk Meadhall as we all know. That of course means having to move to Solstheim, but who wouldn't wanna do that?? smile.gif

I played a bit more of my Vampirella game. She's doing Hand-to-hand, Unarmored, and is hunting Vampires wherever she can find them. There's one more to go, in an ancestral tomb inside the Ghost Fence. She can handle just about anything, but beating high-level daedra to death with her fists is wearing out my mouse button. I may have to try and enchant something to improve her rate of damage.

Posted by: Renee Oct 6 2017, 08:39 PM

I haven't met any vampires yet (or Yor hasn't...) and I'm not really looking forward to that experience. indifferent.gif But Yor met some bone-walkers yesterday when I was gaming with him. They weren't so bad to deal with.

Pretty cool moment though: Yor met a guy along the road to Vivec who had a "pack guar" with him. smile.gif That was so neat. The pack-guar couldn't go into Vivec, but Yor managed to help the guy (who is some sort of merchant I think) into the Foreign Quarter, and then into its canalworks. Managed to find some underground shop and took the guy there. Got paid. Yor Azzizmyyn is doing pretty well.

Posted by: Lopov Oct 6 2017, 08:45 PM

Vampires aren't common, I was playing the game for quite some time before I encountered any of them for the first time.

I remember that guy outside Vivec and his friendly guar. Nice of Yor to help him out. goodjob.gif

Posted by: ghastley Oct 6 2017, 09:05 PM

Vampires in Morrowind tend to be in clan clusters filling some dungeon or other, and you get sent to clean it out, (or you join one if you get infected). A few live isolated in ancestral tombs.

Vampirella's first kill was http://en.uesp.net/wiki/Morrowind:Calvario (as requested by the Zainab Ashkhan). Then she took off on her own.

Posted by: Renee Oct 6 2017, 11:51 PM

Lopov: Yea, that pack-guar is just too cute. Definitely going to find a mod which adds one of these as a follower.

ghastly: See, that vampire looks so creepy. He's dressed as a dandy, which makes him even creepier.

Heartfire 30 (Day 46): Yor Azzizmyyn lost his girlfriend. sad.gif Nevrasa Dralor; a Dunmer woman he met along the road just days after arriving in Pelagiad, is now missing. Yor took her to Pelagiad's inn back when he originally met her, and then he left her there, instead of taking her to the Fields of Kummu where she requests to be taken.

Women. This seems to be one of Yor's weaknesses. He liked having her around. But nearly a month after meeting her (and she's still in Pelagiad) I got the sense that she really wanted to get out of town. So Yor finally took her to Vivec. Roughly halfway through the St. Olms Canton, she simply disappeared. hehe.gif Oh well.

He has become a Journeyman in the Fighters Guild though. And his next assignment is to go to Ald'ruhn again, collect some debt money from somebody up there.

Posted by: Lopov Oct 7 2017, 11:44 AM

Did she go missing in Vivec or outside? Maybe she wasn't quick enough to follow Yor to another cell so she got stuck behind some door in the previous cell.

No, he did not go inside any interiors at all. Matter of fact, he showed up there just as it was getting dark. He began trying to find the St. Olms Canton, but it was taking too long and it was also raining. I imagined his gf began complaining so he turned around and took her toward the Foreign Quarter. Turned around at some point and she wasn't there. sad.gif

I bet she'll show up at some point, weeks later. Typical Bethesda follower, lol.

Posted by: Lopov Oct 7 2017, 02:43 PM

What about the quest - is it still in Yor's journal as active? Because if Yor took much time to take her to St. Olms, the quest fails. If that happens, the NPC remains at the location where it was when the quest failed.

Posted by: Renee Oct 7 2017, 10:37 PM

Hmm. I'm not sure about a time-limit, I'll have to check into that. I don't remember if she had a limited amount of time to get to Fields of Kummu. I don't think she did.

Posted by: Lopov Oct 8 2017, 12:59 AM

Most of the time you don't know if there's a time limit or not. Only when the quest fails, you find out there was a time limit.

A few nights ago I fired up Morrowind. Like Skyrim, I hadn't played it since December. Took quite a bit to get used to the controls again. Also forgot how annoyingly easy it was to get stuck on or blocked by the geometry.

My Nerevarine (which I have yet to rename to something that could actually work lore-wise) took a little trip to Vivec. I totally forgot that Ordinators attack me on sight now because of that Imperial Legion quest where you have to escort that one Legion member who committed a crime and was going to be tried by the Ordinators. When I did that quest, I found that the Ordinators would only attack you if you escorted the guy and talked to them at the same time. Which I thought was great, because [censored] Ordinators. I'm more than happy to kill them without incurring a bounty.

And also, I finally went and killed Vivec. I made a separate save for it just in case. Got that "the prophecy has been severed" message even though I already, you know, saved the world. I annoyingly got stuck on the geometry of the steps around where he is hovering, though, so that got me killed several times. On the time I finally killed him, for some reason he decided to try to punch me to death instead of hurl spells. So I'd rather kill him at his best.

Other than that, perhaps the only thing left for my Nerevarine to do is to go around and free my fellow marshpeople as well as cat-folk. That'll teach those Dunmer slave-driving [censored] a good lesson.

Posted by: Renee Oct 10 2017, 12:35 AM

Wow that sounds intense, RotLA! Those ordnators look tough!

And c'mon.,... what's his name??? biggrin.gif
