I finished Courtship of Princess Leia. It was terrible, the worst portrayal of Leia I have ever read. She alternates between sobbing and swooning, and in a story filled with Amazons, is constantly in need of rescue. About the only thing interesting about it is that it was the first time Zsinj appears in the EU, as pretty much a throw-away character. I was really impressed with how other authors took such bare bones and built up the character into such a wily genius in the X-Wing books. I also read Cobalt Squadron. It was good. It takes place just before events of the The Last Jedi. It concentrates on Rose her sister Paige, who are both crew in a StarFortress bomber. There is some nice character development with Rose, and in the end she leaves the bomber to serve on one of the bigger ships. It also gave a more in-depth view of the new bombers we saw in The Last Jedi. I got a definite vibe of WWII bombers from the movie, and it is heavily reinforced in the book. Some things about them that looked like plot holes in the movie also got filled in. For example, their bombs don't fall out of their holds. Rather they are catapulted out by a magnetic rail system. Likewise, the standard bombs magnetically lock on target. So it makes sense that they would have all gone straight into that Dreadnaught they were dropped onto in the movie.

QUOTE(SubRosa @ Jan 5 2018, 03:38 PM) I have been watching Rebels again since seeing Last Jedi. I just watched the episode where Maul kidnapped the crew of the Ghost and forced Kanann and Ezra to give him the Sith Holocron. The asteroid base where they met at looked awfully familiar, since it was shaped like a semi-circle, with a hanger built into the side. I looked back and my copy of the Darth Maul: Son of Dathomir comics, and the same asteroid was in there! That was a really cool touch.
If that's what the writers where aiming for that's a good attention to detail.

Becoming stale, mirocu. You’re like a parrot saying the same things over and over again. Get over yourself, buddy.

The one on the Game Cube was the best. I wish they bring it back. Khajiit didn’t have a GameCube so missed the Rogue game’s on there ( Rogue Leader, Khajiit thinks it was called?).

QUOTE(Callidus Thorn @ Jan 8 2018, 02:03 PM) There were two: Rogue Leader and Rebel Strike
Rogue Leader is an excellent game, Rebel Strike made the baffling decision to add on-foot sections, which were just a mess
Khajiit vaguely remembers playing a space level in a demo version of Rogue Leader at Electronic Boutique, way back in the day.

QUOTE(Callidus Thorn @ Jan 8 2018, 03:57 PM) I've actually still got a Gamecube, with some great games on it, Rogue Leader included Khajiit wishes he still had his N64.

QUOTE(Cain @ Jan 9 2018, 07:20 AM) They'll have to pry my N64 and Gamecube from my cold, dead fingers.
I still play Shadows of the Empire at least twice a year.
Loved that game back in the day! Had a third party controller with auto fire and just mowed those Imperial dogs down! Bet it hasn’t aged well though.
