We had a heavy thunderstorm a few days back in which some trees fell on my not one year old gate, crushing it to bits. But long before day's end, we had a new one up!

Lol birdIt matters not how strait the gate, How charged with punishments the scroll, I am the master of my fate, I am the captain of my soul.

Unplanned Project: Ramrod brother's auto repair Status: Hopefully complete Begun Sunday (discussion, planning), this consumed much of my day Monday and parts of Tuesday. Assuming yesterday's repairs solve the issue, it's over and done with....hurrah.
Project: Groceries Status: Complete
Did this while on break from carting my brother around Monday. This was originally planned for Tuesday, but that was before learning of my bro's car dilemma, when it made sense to combine it with my cardio appointment and have Monday totally free to vegetate.
Project: Routine Medical Appointment, cardiology Status: Complete One of my twice-yearly cardio exams. No nasty surprises.
Project: Submit Jury Duty exemption request to Country Court Clerk's Office. Dropped this off on the way back from yesterday's cardio appointment. My request, which I justify on the grounds of unreliable health and poor hearing, was approved both previous submissions, most recently 2016. However, I don't have a good feeling about this submission. Enough has changed these past three years that I couldn't submit my old support letter without rewrite. I'm not the writer I was three years ago. I can tell the new letter doesn't make as strong a case for my stance as I would like, but am incapable of doing better. We shall see, I reckon.
Project: Mow Lawn Status: Possibly upcoming this afternoon
I should have done this yesterday evening after supper. But...I was so exhausted from helping bro and my own activities (see above) I went to bed early instead. The problem today is that it might well rain/storm before the grass dries enough to mow. That's what's predicted. But weather predictions have been way off this past week. We'll see.
Project update: Mow Lawn Status: Complete
Began about 1250 under blissfully overcast skies and a nice stiff breeze. Went well except at the very end, when cloud cover vanished and wind dropped to nothing. That was brutal! Thankfully I was in the home stretch by then. I cringe to think what it'll be like when truly hot summer weather sets in!!!!

QUOTE(Decrepit @ Jun 14 2019, 07:20 AM) Project: Create and Upload new TpF Scenic Excursions episode Status: Complete
I uploaded ep21 overnight. It's now available for view. A link is found in our What are you Playing? thread.
Project: Exercise Walks Status: Ongoing
I've not missed a day yet, except once due to rare scheduling conflict. Walked later than usual yesterday and will do so again today due to unseasonably cool weather. Beginning Sunday we are forecast for over a week of solid rains and T-storms. That's sure to put a dent in my walking routine. We shall see.
We had a thirteen step staircase in our old house; and if the children were stuck inside due to bad weather and getting too hyper I would make them go up and down the stairs (doing a fun made-up game) that gave them some secret exercise so they would settle down, lol. QUOTE(treydog @ Jun 15 2019, 11:33 AM) Will probably run the new electric (battery- no cord) lawn mower at some point. We have named it "Obi Wan Ryobi".
Possibly some work on the story- we have been tapping away at the final chapter- up to 26000 words. And that has caused the creation of some additional "side stories," which will probably be posted before the main. The plan is to finish the chapter (and the story) before beginning postage.
Work on the kitchen has continued- we are now without appliances (stove, oven, microwave, kitchen sink). I foresee a lot of carry-out in our near future- plus some grilling (provided the grocery store ever again has any decent steaks or chopped steak). Otherwise, things that can be done in a slow cooker or toaster oven...
Yeah, our oven broke in a thunderstorm some time before Thanksgiving 2018. Luckily the stove top burners still work; but = other than it we have also been stuck on the Toaster Oven (or Microwave). At least with summer here you can use a grill or smoker outside instead of the toaster oven part of it = Mmmm Mmmm!
