I am in awe of King Coin's video's so much more since I tried to make some myself - I can barely keep up with filming Maxical standing still, but somehow he manages to capture action and tell a story with his vids!

Anyway, here is another vid of Maxical just standing there like a dummy - BUT she is TALKING !!!! All thanks to King Coin, who made this mod to give BruceVayne's Sound Sets a huge boost. Maxical has around 35 phrases on command, I couldn't remember where they all were so you will find a few repeating, lol. Thanks for watching !!

The voice of Annah is perfect for Maxical, and for making vids, you certainly can't top what KC did as far as rendering the ability to have your character say a phrase upon request. Fabulous!

The screenies are wonderful as well. Maxical and Vilja look lovely as ever and what a treat to see one of my fave NPCs: ALIX THE MOUSE!!! WooHoo!

Great work by KC on adapting the voices to on command and congrats to you, mALX for getting it working so well for Maxical! biggrin.gif

@ Acadian - Thank you so much Acadian !! KC gets all the credit on this for his mod - and NO ONE can beat him for making vids, lol. I did a little better on this next vid - trying out another voice mod that gives her the random speech that you and KC enjoy with the Sound Sets - the ones that DON'T work for some reason when I try to install them, lol.

This is a small vid showing ELZ's Voice Mod. I have Eyja in the basement, so Vilja sleeps with Maxical. In the making of this vid it made for some funny scenes. Some bordered on suggestive, I cut those, lol. Here is the vid :

Maxical’s little humming tune is stuck in my head now!! It was pretty funny when she climbed in with Vilja, announcing that she’d learned some new tricks. Lucky Nord! laugh.gif It seemed that Alix the Mouse couldn’t keep his eyes off of her… Fun video, mALX!

@ Grits - Thank you so much Grits !!! The humming was one of those sample files they tell you to delete (like the pictures that come in wallets) - I just couldn't dump it, fell in love with it the second I heard it !!

The sound came for waiting. Every time you ask a follower to wait they either complain or act too obsequies, (I really prefer the complaining) - that is how all the player sound files were too. All these sound files were in a different language (Asian) - so I was just dumping them after a quick listen. When I came to the waiting and heard this I went nuts over it !! As it turned out, I kept half the files that came in the mod.

When Maxical sings or exhales loudly (and some combat sounds that weren't in the vid) - those are the little Asian girl's voice, but you really can't tell it doesn't belong with Anna Torment's voice - it just fits right in with it !! I would give anything to know who the little girl is that did that singing, just to tell her how much I loved that singing. I laugh every time I hear it, lol.

And now ... TADA !!! My very first mod ever, "Alix the Mouse!"

As everyone knows, I am as dumb as a brick when it comes to computers, lol. So this was HUGE for me.

Alix is made from the great NIF files of "Wasabi the mouse," and some scripts from the mod "Fufu Rabbit."

Alix is supposed to follow Maxical, he has all his own sound files (hand selected from months of scratching through thousands of shrieking mouse sounds), he is supposed to love sweetrolls and follow Maxical if she has any on her - and if any sweetrolls are just laying around he is supposed to seek them out. When asked to wait he is supposed to make a cursing sounding squeal, and when the player returns and tells him to follow again he is supposed to make a, "It's about time!" sounding squeal.

Alix is not geared to pick a fight, but is supposed to defend himself and Maxical. If provoked, he can take down a Deadroth if necessary, his combat package is pretty hefty.

Well, so far all he is doing is following Maxical, and I can't tell if it is because she happens to have sweetrolls on her (because Vilja also demands them).

The dead rat you see was one I tossed into Skingrad to see if Alix would kill it - he did !! So far so good...and that is where the good news ends, lol.

I had to cut the scene where he stood by and watched as a highwayman nearly cudgeled Maxical to death ... I guess I need to up his agression level some, lol.

I didn't get to hear him make any of his special sounds yet either - which he should have been doing. His summon ring is also supposed to make a "conjure" sound - it didn't, nor did it summon Alix. I had to go find Alix, thank goodness I stuck him right outside Maxical's house in Skingrad, lol.

Somehow in placing Alix in Skingrad I may have ... inadvertantly pushed around something I shouldn't, because now when I close this mod out on the construction set it is giving "Furniture reference warnings" - which it wasn't doing till I stuck Alix down in Skingrad. So I did it - just not sure what I did.

Then there is Maxical's tail. For some odd reason Maxical's tail broke at the end of this vid - could it have to do with the furniture reference? I don't know, but I need to figure out what these issues are or start making Alix from scratch and delete this .esp file. - At least I have all the steps down pat now, lol.

So anyway, still some tweaks need to be made. KC made the great suggestion (which I plan to do) to remove the sweetroll package and get the "follow package" working properly before trying to add the sweetrolls - I think he is right that the conflict may be over having two follow packages.

Anyway, Alix is here and following (if nothing else, lol) - and it is the first real mod I ever made !!!

PS: The end of the vid shows both Alix and Wasabi together (proving I didn't just rename Wasabi). Note Alix's size compared to Wasabi's !!!

For the spell to summon Alix, here's what I would do for the script to start:

Alix's EdID (Editor ID) is found by opening his reference data box in the CS (double-click on him in the render window) I would suggest setting it to AlixMouseREF or something similar, so it's easy to remember.

Compile this script as a Spell Effect script, and attach it to a custom spell set to use the Creature Summon visual effect.

Yay, congratulations!!

Oh, I love his happy mouse noise! Why does Wasabi think Maxical is a cruel master? At the end it looks like Alix the Mouse has his own smaller pet mouse. Maxical’s house looks so peaceful and friendly with Vilja asleep, the crackling fire, and the mice making their soft little squeaks. I imagine it gets quite lively when they’re all walking around. If Maxical whips out a sweetroll and tosses it between Vilja and Alix, there could be a fight!! laugh.gif

Maxical’s voice suits her so well, and now Alix is following her. I love seeing your story come to life!

Thank you so much for this TK !!! I def need any script help I can get !! I had his summon supposed to happen when a ring is equipped - I did find out the problem of why THAT wasn't working, I had never added the script for the summon to the ring itself, only to the "Scripts" function.

Last night I cleaned my mod with TES4Edit. Then I went completely over it - checking every single thing - that's how I found the issue with not being able to summon him.

Cleaning the mod I found two things I had altered in Skingrad - fixed those. Some advice I found on the WIKI said to rename your mod the same name and it would re-set any new changes made - did that. (and then had to re-reload all the sound files a THIRD time. ..grrr. Not sure why they keep vanishing from his file.

Went to the game and tested my aggression tweaks to see if he would defend Maxical - yeah he did !!! Er ... well - something else wrong now. A mud crab knocked him unconscious and tossed him 30 feet out to sea with one hit !!! HAVOC !!! Now what is causing that?

He has a 20% reflect damage shield, 35 strength and endurance, combat level 15 - how can a mud crab take him out? I have the check box checked to offset player and Maxical is level one, would his base form take that over his combat level stat?

And what is causing the havoc? Could it be because of his altered size or the fact that I took the 3 pound weight off his feet? I may need to try putting the weight back on his feet.

I have been up two days and nights straight in a row fiddling with this mod - I keep hoping I can get it working right before I lay down to rest, lol.

@ Grits - Thank you so much Grits !! ROFL !! I wasn't sure if that could be seen in the vid, lol. I think Wasabi was ticked off that I brought a new and BIGGER mouse home ... or something. I hate to say this, but with all these mod difficulties I'm kind of glad that Vilja has taken to sleeping a lot - I couldn't handle her forcefullness after being up two days and nights fiddling with this mod !!!

ROFL !!! - You are right about a fight between Vilja and Alix for the sweetrolls - not sure how big that will go over either, but if she has any on her ... I just added a new package that will make Alix "find" a sweetroll if he is within 50 feet of it. I see some problems ahead, like him "taking" them from Vilja or stealing them in stores, etc. That is one of the reasons I added that, kind of add some chaos to Maxical's existance as she walks about, lol. (one of the reasons too that I always have her get the Unicorn - talk about chaos, try to do the main questline on a Daedric beast !!! ROFL !!! It gets very wild at Weynon Priory and Cloud Ruler Temple when you have the Unicorn!) Thank you so much again, Grits !!!

I took your advice and removed the sweetroll packages - that was why Alix was following her. Without them he wasn't even my pet, just a wild rat named Alix that the guards kept shooting. I quit the game and cleaned the mod with TES4Edit before carefully going over piece by piece each step of the making of the mod - and found the problem. I had not added the "Summon" spell to the ring itself. Everything worked perfectly after that - well, except the combat.

I have not tested it out yet, but I did add back in the "Find Sweetroll" package to see if it works (since I know the "Follow Sweetroll" package works and why the summon wasn't working.

Now to figure out the HAVOC & combat issues, lol. Thanks again, KC - for everything and your Awesome support through this !!!

If a shopkeeper screams at Alix for thieving, be sure to catch that on film!

I'm not sure if creatures are capable of picking up items, though. Well, we'll find out soon enough.

Oh, and for the ring, try this script and see if it works (compile it as an Object script):

The script I had works fine now that I attached it to the ring - but (yours) looks like it is better, more concise. Here is the script I used:

The summoning works fine, but Alix is not following very closely or consistantly well unless I have the "Sweetroll" package in - then he follows very closely and through everything and anything.

I am going to try to weight his feet to stop the havoc, but still unsure why with his combat package a mudcrab was able to knock him unconscious. And he does not come on summon when he is unconscious.

OK, (drum roll) ... Every single glitch is fixed !!!

1. Fixed the squeak being too quiet - It is still quiet, but you can hear it now.

2. Fixed the squeak not playing as often as it should - Alix squeaks as much as Vilja talks, and his temper is just as bad as hers.

Alix now squeak-cries and throws a tantrum when you tell him to wait (and curses you in squeak when you return no matter how short the trip, lol). I caught a tantrum in action, watch the vid, lol.

3. Fixed the havoc wreaking havoc in combat. - weighed Alix's feet down a little heavier than the average rat, although he is 20% smaller than them. Tweaked his combat a little too much, he can take down a Daedra now - I need to get in there and tone it down quite a bit, lol.

4. Alix's summon ring works wonderfully no matter the distance - I even called him into the testinghall (and unfortunately, called Janus Hassildor as well by accident - wrong hot key, wrong ring. He was stuck there, I had to go back to his castle and summon Janus home, lol) There is an example of the summoning in the vid.

5. Fixed Alix's follow package so he follows perfectly - however, if you DON'T have a sweetroll in your pocket and someone else does, his following YOU will become at a distance as he'll be trying to follow you and get the sweetroll from them at the same time, lol.

Here is the finished product, Alix the Mouse - now with voice and super powered combat (but the combat will be toned down ASAP, lol.)
