I had an idea about roleplaying an android for some time now but I lacked some roleplay elements...until today. I still have to decide on some things but my android, named SX4, is created. Why SX4? When I was buying a new car in January, I couldn't decide between two Suzuki models: Vitara and SX4. Now I bought Vitara and as a homage to the other model I named the android SX4.

Now comes the best part - I'll do a portion of the MQ with SX4 but he's not the Lone Wanderer, instead he was sent by the Overseer to hunt down James and execute him. So he'll basically follow in James' foosteps and I'll just have to imagine that the dialogue about dad-son stuff never happened. In the future I plan to do SubRosa's Anchorage Aftermath with him. Now I just have to set my mind on a few things and tweak his stats a little, then he'll be ready to go - to drive. wink.gif

Here's a promotional pic - the trenchcoat is from Breeze's Males Mod, I was hoping there's a zipped version but it's okay for the ladies, I guess. The cyber-arm and the matching eye are from the Cyber-Arm mod. I might tweak his face some more as well, didn't notice the annoying overbite until now.

Excellent idea! There are some custom cyborg race mods out there too you could look for too. You might even take one of the NPCs who gets killed during the tutorial - like the security chief who was beating on Amata - and use his face. He could be a cyber-zombie, resurrected through dark science.


Edit - Here some of them are:

Terminator Cybernetic Dawn - looks really interesting, although it looks like it might add more than what you are looking for. But you could probably use FO3Edit to cut out all but the new races.

Cyber Arm Vault Suit - is another cyber arm mod. In spite of the title, it looks like you can have the arm without the vault suit.

Cybernetics Perk Tree - adds a bunch of cyber-related perks.

Thanks for the suggestions, I already checked them out earlier. Cyber Arm Vault suit is the base mod but it only allows you to use the cyber arm with a minority of armor sets, I use the upgraded version which allows you to use it with any kind of armor and surprisingly, it blends very well. The same mod comes with a bionic eye which will also be used by SX4.

Cybernetic Dawn looked great at first and I d/l-ed it just after checking the pics but when I began reading what it does, it was exactly as you say - it changes too many things.

Cybernetic Perk Tree looks interesting but I already use Cyborg Friend which improves the vanilla perk plus makes you friendly to robots. I also installed Simple Night Vision - it's probably the simplest night vision mod out there just as the name suggests, you turn the NV on and off by pressing the desired key. What's interesting about it is that the vision requires either action points or energy cells as a power source and once you run out of any, the vision returns to normal, so it's mostly useful for scouting dark areas.

I found another Cybernetic-related mod, namely Facticius Humanus, but it messes up faces in my game because I have some other face-altering mods installed which I find essential. Bodies added by that mod are the best IMO but I won't sacrifice my face mods just to get some body which won't be visible most of the time.

In the end I used vanilla Caucasian race, then boosted his SPECIAL and resistances accordingly. I also enabled slow health regeneration. A weapon of choice is Atomic Pulverizer, normally found only on Mothership Zeta but in my roleplay scientists from Commonwealth found another copy and equipped their prime hunters with it.

My long-term goal is for SX4 to slowly become aware of his human part, something similar to the Android quest from the base game. Except that in my case SX4 is not a complete android but a half-android, "designed" from a fallen pre-war soldier and as such retains a bit of humanity. Anchorage Aftermath will fit nicely in here to serve as his backstory.

After completing Anchorage Aftermath SX4 will be considered as android gone rogue by his creator because he'll regain his thinking ability and partially liberate himself from mind control. That's why his creator, a mysterious guy known only as the Doctor, will send other androids to kill traitorous SX4.

I created the first hunter in the GECK today and tested it in the game, at first there were some troubles, especially because I didn't exactly know how to make her run to SX4, but with time I figured it out. She'll be placed in some random location from where she'll run up to SX4 and attack him on sight. I made her tougher than average enemy and gave her custom powerful weapon and armor. Occasionally hunters will have holotapes on their bodies, containing mocking messages from the Doctor.

Not all hunters will run up to SX4, some will be staying in their respective cells and attack SX4 once he'll be in the vicinity while others will "activate" themselves on specific days.

What you could do is look at the Talon Company/Regulators, and copy how they spawn when you change cells after a certain number of days. That way the hunters will randomly appear to attack SX4 throughout the game.

That's what I wanted to do at first, then I decided that each encounter should be unique - each hunter will be named, they'll have unique weapons and combat tactics. Right now I'm planning to create ten hunters + the boss at the end.

With Mit Tsubishi's story approaching the end, I've been thinking a lot about future characters. I already know who will my next character in FNV be, but I have some more ideas which I'll write down.

My next character will be a casino robber. I'll use the Alternate start mod so he won't be a courier, instead he'll be an ex-prisoner from the NCR Correctional Facility. I'll use another mod that adds vaults to each of the Strip casinos. Regarding DLCs he might do Dead Money because there's a casino involved and the robber won't know it's actually a trap.

My future plans involve roleplaying a tribal. I'm biased regarding his backstory - one option is to make him a Legion frumentarius; his tribe was captured by the Legion when he was a child and he was intentionally 'sent' to the civilization to act as eyes and ears of the Legion. He might stay loyal to the Legion or not. The other option is that he doesn't have any Legion background, instead he'll be a tribal raised by civilized people and as such will retain some tribal features but will also fare well in civilized areas.

Then there's a bounty hunter with a permanently crippled left leg. Since it'd take him forever to get from point a to point b, I'd use the console to slightly boost his walking speed. He'd have just one eye, so he'd wear an eye-patch at all times and only use one-handed weapons. He'd be a shady guy who'd focus on the New Vegas Bounties quest, just like Blondie.
