For me, its gotta be Snake Eater for metal gear solid 3.
it sets up the game perfectly, and is different from the first two game themes, since it is based in the sixties.

There is alot of great music in games. I really like the music of Morrowind and Oblivion, but I think i would say Nobuo Uematsu is my favorite composer. The Final Fantasy games have superb soundtracks, maybe especially number 6, I like the opera. The Black Mages Performing Darkness and Starlight: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QiF15XUNFH4I also own the piano sheet music for FFVII and Chrono Trigger, it is my favorite music to play on the piano . edit: @Tellie: I also like Megadeth This post has been edited by Ola Martin: Apr 7 2011, 12:25 AM

I really like the one from Peace Walker; Heaven's Divide. Then there's the Halo theme (of any variation really), although I also have a big soft spot for Finish the Fight. It's just a good theme to start the last game of the trilogy off with. Otherwise, uh... CASTLEVANIA, YEAH!

Many games have so good music. Deus Ex is still haunting me (in the good way ) and I cannot get enough of Morrowinds and Oblivions music. And when it comes to NES games, many of them had great music! My favorite game music from the NES library include Mega Man, Shadowgate, Bobble Bubble, Batman, Super Mario Bros 2, Wizards and Warriors and of course Legend of Zelda. I also have to mention Mr Gimmick but that game had a much more advanced sound chip than the rest of the games.

QUOTE(mirocu @ Apr 21 2013, 02:12 PM) QUOTE(Darkness Eternal @ Apr 21 2013, 03:05 PM) Pretty epic! It is! I fell in love with it. QUOTE(SubRosa @ Apr 21 2013, 06:01 PM) I am a big fan of Lindsey Stirling doing Assassin's Creed. I remember her doing the Skyrim one, but the Assassin's Creed III song she did is amazing. Such a lovely voice!

And yet I am, and live—like vapours tossed. I long for scenes where man hath never trod A place where woman never smiled or wept There to abide with my Creator, God, And sleep as I in childhood sweetly slept, Untroubling and untroubled where I lie The grass below—above the vaulted sky.”

The song that plays during "The Final Run" scene in the original Halo game still does it for me. I love that game so much.

I can't help but feel slightly outraged that, so far on this thread, nobody has mentioned the absolutely wonderful Miracle of Sound, who's entire portfolio of music revolves around video games and a few movies. Criminal, I say, criminal! Aside from Miracle of Sound, my favourite videogame music tracks are: Darren Korb's soundtrack for BastionSongs to Test By, composed by the Aperture Science Psychoacoustics Laboratory to serve as the soundtrack for Portal 2 Jack Wall's Suicide Mission, from Mass Effect 2 Michael McCann's Icarus, from the Deus Ex: Human Revolution soundtrack TEARS, by Health, from Max Payne 3's OST Vortal Combat, from Half Life 2's soundtrack ( Sector Sweep and Last Legs are pretty damn good too) And special mention must, of course, go to Jeremy Soule's Dragonborn, a track so manly it will put hairs on your chest. And yes, as you might have guessed, I own a lot of video game OSTs. That isn't even getting into the movie ones I have as well... Edit: I also really, really love linking things too This post has been edited by Colonel Mustard: Apr 22 2013, 10:05 AM
