How do I convert a .bmp image into a .jpg?

without PSP, or any other image editing beyond microsoft paint...

Easy. Open the .bmp in paint, click 'save as...' under 'file' and then change the little drop-down menu below the file name you type from Bitmap to Jpeg. Or, just add .jpg to the end of the file name when you do 'save as...'
