Awkward bugger, aren't I? laugh.gif

In other news, I'm thinking about mounting another expedition into the Marvel Cinematic Universe biggrin.gif

With which film?

It's a toss up between Thor, Captain America, or Iron Man.

Captain America's the least likely. Everytime I've watched that film I kept hoping he'd shout "Flame on!" and turn into the Human Torch rollinglaugh.gif

Thor has Natalie Portman in it. Of course, there are many good things in the film that make it worth watching, but it also has Natalie Portman hubbahubba.gif

And I've had a soft spot for Iron Man since watching cartoons as a kid, and Robert Downey Jr as Tony Stark is just damn entertaining. laugh.gif
Uggh. Khajiit can't help you with that decision, lol

Not a fan of those films?

Never saw'em! rollinglaugh.gif
Khajiit saw bits of Iron Man but it didn't hold his attention (which is strange because Stark falls into the "super hero who is not super" category which Khajiit usually likes. Like Batman.). This one never attempted to watch the others, simply never was interested. How are the new X-Men movies? Khajiit was always a bit more tolerant of them in the past (watched the cartoon some back in the 90's).

That's one of the things I love about Iron Man. He does the superhero that isn't innately super better than Batman. laugh.gif

I have those X-Men cartoons from the 90's on dvd. So awesome biggrin.gif

I utterly despise First Class, mostly for screwing with just about every point of continuity it got its hands on. It says something about the film that they killed off nearly every new character it introduced before Days of Future Past. To my mind there's just so much wrong with First Class that I couldn't list it all, but I found the love triangle between Xavier, Mystique, and Magneto to be particularly obnoxious and unnecessary. Especially with Hank throwing his hat in there.

Days of Future Past, on the other hand, I think is brilliant(save for the whole Xavier/Mystique/Magneto thing again).

The latest one, Apocalypse, I've not bothered watching. For me, it's the wrong generation of X-Men. Sir Patrick Stewart and Sir Ian Mckellen were perfect for the roles of Professor X and Magneto, and First Class was an absolute trainwreck of an intro for their younger versions.

Hmmm, thanks for the info. Looks like Khajiit will be avoiding these films too, lol

Haven't seen it. I don't really like going to the cinema, so I just wait for films to come out on dvd. Planning to get it when it comes out though.

Gotcha. Khajiit loves going to the cinema! Or rather, loved it, when all his local friends were still around. Still it's nice to go, just not to our crappy cinema. Went to see Rogue One and it was terrible! Luckily the movie was so good that this felt like he still got his money's worth. Now Khajiit can't wait to see it on his home tv!

Heh, the last film I saw in the cinema was Attack of the Clones, with one of my friends. We both lost it watching Yoda flip around fighting Dooku.

I take it you liked The Force Awakens too?

Well, for the most part, yes. About halfway through the film though, Khajiit realized that he was watching a new film based on almost exactly the same basic plot as A New Hope. Well, perhaps not the same basic plot but the sequences that drive the film are very similar.

Huh, I wonder why... rollinglaugh.gif

I started out refusing to watch that just because they threw out the EU, but the more I found out about it, the more my stance solidified. Just the setup alone is enough for me to give it a miss. laugh.gif

Khajiit is a sucker for any Star Wars, it seems. laugh.gif

But yes, Khajiit was also saddened that they threw out the EU. Especially the KotOR stuff. Would love a film about the Mandalorian Wars, by the way.

I used to be the same.

But then the prequels came *shudders*

Though I will concede that we did at least get some good books out of the Clone Wars setting(I'm a sucker for the Republic Commando books, as well as the game wink.gif )

Please note, an addendum was made to Khajiit's previous post.

Khajiit never played the Republic Commando game or read the books, but the Clone Wars tv show featured the clone troopers heavily.

Addendum noted. Yeah, the KotOR stuff was some of the best, and a film about the Mandalorian Wars could have been awesome. Mandalorian vs Jedi rivalry would make a nice change from Sith vs Jedi, and having a non-mystical enemy that can go toe-to-toe with the Jedi would have brought them down a few notches.

I don't really get why they'd focus on the regular troopers though. I mean, the films set the Clone Wars up as pretty much meat droids vs metal droids, with the clone troopers no different to stormtroopers, except the clones could actually shoot laugh.gif

The books follow some of the Republic Commandos that were trained by Mandalorian mercenaries, and I'm a sucker for Mandalorian stuff, so I'm very fond of those. The first three at least. Some damn good characters in there. biggrin.gif

Funny thing, the show showed that they were able to form their own personalities and did a much better job of humanizing the clones than the movies did.

That's hardly an achievement. The prequels didn't even manage to humanise Hayden Christensen
