I don't have any yet, but I'd love to see pictures from your games. Here's a place to post them.

ESO can also do ugly. Which is great fun when creating new characters. I love ugly.

I went for a spider-bodied build. I even got compliments for this character! Someone actually whispered me they've never seen anything this ugly!

Thank you so much!! Two things I’ve been wondering about and haven’t seen much elsewhere are nights and characters other than hot elves. Both look promising.

Thanks, stargelman and KC for the great shots. And to Grits for hosting this neat way for us to see some of ESO. The game looks beautiful, and clearly allows tons of personalization in creating characters.

One thing I'm noticing about the bald-headed lady at the bottom of Stargelman's pictures is that she's got a gut. Her tummy's sticking out. This is actually kind of refreshing, were you able to create her like that? The reason it's refreshing is this game doesn't just assume washboard abs or a 6-pack tummy, from the look of it.

I've always wanted to create a character with some girth around his or her middle, just to do something a little different.

Yes you can make characters with some weight on them.

KC, that shot of the Tower looks great. And so comfortingly familiar! smile.gif

QUOTE(mirocu @ Apr 1 2014, 09:00 PM) *

According to the lore it should still be a jungle. Tiber Septim hasn't magically transformed it into the picturesque landscape we saw in Oblivion yet. That being said, in Arena it's jungle and that's in the 3rd era.. Gotta love the lore tongue.gif

Posted by: Grits Apr 1 2014, 12:12 PM

What a great shot of the tower. Yeah, I want to go there. panic.gif

Posted by: SubRosa Apr 1 2014, 03:10 PM

It is very nice seeing White Gold again, from a slightly different perspective.

I have to say I really like what I see of the character creation. The faces look much better than in Skyrim. They seem to have a softer, less jagged and harsh look to them. Probably because of better textures (like not have square blocks in the texture files for starters...). But I also like the way you can change your body type as well, so every 80 year old man does not have six-pack abs...

Posted by: jack cloudy Apr 1 2014, 09:43 PM

Oh yeah, character creation is beautiful. The only complaint I have about it is that facial scars and tattoos are the same slot. Same thing with the body. I just want to have both. sad.gif

And I caved in to nonexistent peer pressure and artbooks. I don't have much worthwhile to show in the form of pictures. I don't play at maximum graphics either. But anyhow, let's drum some up to showcase what I do in the game.

(Ps: people kept running up to stare at me. They must have thought I was an npc with a potential quest. Why else would I be standing like that? tongue.gif )

The camera doesn't want to move the way I want it to for taking pictures of myself. I can't get close enough and my guy always shifts off to the right of the screen. Pity.

Personally I'm glad it's not a jungle in TES: 4. Not to diss jungles or anything, but I'm glad we got deciduous trees & conifers, deer, rats, and wolves.

What's Valenwood like in Arena? I haven't been there yet. Never mind, that's too off-topic.

OK, I love the monkey! Your character looks great, cloudy. Thanks for posting these!

Posted by: jack cloudy Apr 4 2014, 05:22 PM

I thought monkeys were more tropical creatures, but I see them everywhere. They're cute, but keep running around which makes it hard to get close. The game is also lacking a /pet emote. I just wanna hug the adorable animals! sad.gif

In other news, the physical part of the Imperial edition just arrived. Now I got the code sent earlier which did give me the idea that it was possible to cancel out of the preorder at that point and basically get the game-part for free. At least for the first thirty days. But since that is kinda rude to say the least I didn't.

Making photos right now but here is a spoiler. This box is huge! As in OMG huge. ohmy.gif

Neat pictures. Do all of the ESO Khajiit have spots? Or are there multiple options you can choose for their fur?

Posted by: King Coin Apr 11 2014, 04:37 PM

There are many patterns to choose from, and you can elect to have a single colored Khajiit as well.

Wow, KC! Thanks for sharing some ESO. Valenwood looks exactly how I imagine it should!

Posted by: Grits Apr 12 2014, 07:47 PM

Oh my gosh, Valenwood is beautiful! There will be no more waffling. Grits is going to have to see that. (Eventually. tongue.gif) Looks like I’ll be starting in the Aldmeri Dominion.

Posted by: Vital Apr 12 2014, 10:18 PM

Thanks for sharing KC! Those tree-cities look amazing biggrin.gif

I wasn't sure if they'd actually include the tree-cities n Valenwood, but I'm glad they did. I don't suppose they move?? I'm sure that would be hard to include, particularly in an MMO.

I, like Grits, may have to play this! After it's quietened down though and when I can afford it!

Posted by: haute ecole rider Apr 13 2014, 09:17 PM

ESO's concept of Valenwood far, far exceeded anything I could have imagined. I was picturing something like the Moiety in Riven, but this is much better!

Posted by: King Coin Apr 22 2014, 02:55 AM

Valenwood is a lot of fun! smile.gif

@Vital: None of the cities in the game move, though it is mentioned that a city left and nobody knows where it went.

Posted by: ghastley Apr 22 2014, 04:17 AM

A beach! Does it have mud-crabs?

Posted by: Grits Apr 26 2014, 06:32 PM

Beach!! TREE CITIES!!! Aldmeri Dominion wins. biggrin.gif

I like how the Lord Stone is lifting Aravi in the air a little. It lends some ceremony to the blessing.

Posted by: SubRosa Apr 26 2014, 06:49 PM

Love the warm colors in the Valenwood pic. It looks like a very inviting place. Quite different from Coldharbour, where I don't think I would want to go swimming!

The beach looks awesome. Aldmeri Dominion FTW! If they ever release a single player version, I will be playing an Altmer to start with.

Count me on on the neat floating effect with the Lord Stone. It looks really neat.

Posted by: King Coin Apr 27 2014, 05:41 PM

Of course there are mudcrabs. They tend to be more even tempered than the Oblivion and Skyrim varieties.

https://www.dropbox.com/s/avfu1y06fvbulwr/Screenshot%202014-04-27%2010.26.49.png This is one of my favorite things about the game. Each race's armor looks a little different from the others.

Great shots of ESO. I like how they've changed the White Gold Tower. And I hope the Argonian didn't mind Aravi making armor out his hide. tongue.gif

Posted by: SubRosa Apr 27 2014, 06:38 PM

Aravi is wearing an Argonian? Harsh... wink.gif Seriously though, I like the idea of each race having their own styles of armor.

It is great to see Maiq again!

What is that weird ring around White Gold Tower, and the things coming down from it? Is that one of those 'anchors' that Molag Bal dropped from Coldharbor to absorb Tamriel?

The Imperial Isle looks a lot like the Soul Cairn. I would rather live in the Aldmeri Dominion lands instead.

Posted by: Thomas Kaira Apr 27 2014, 06:43 PM

Pretty ominous sight, seeing White Gold Tower attached to a Dark Anchor. Hopefully the Imperial City becomes an Adventure Zone later on, that looks like it would be fun.

It’s neat to see the different armors. I like how the Argonian one leaves Aravi’s fingers and toes free.

Wise words from M’aiq. How fun to see him! biggrin.gif

The Imperial Isle definitely looks like a magical world in crisis. What happens to your horse when you’re not riding? Does it follow you or disappear somewhere? Does it get into fights and possibly die?

Thanks smile.gif

I just learned how to make the interface disappear. Is it fine if I make my own screenshot thread in this section?

It certainly is. If you think you'll be posting quite a few ESO screenies you have several choices:

- Create your own thread here in the 'That Online Thing' forum as you mention.
- Create your own thread in the 'Fan Art' forum.
- Just continue posting them here on this thread.

Whichever you prefer. It's just nice to see you playing and enjoying TES! smile.gif

I'm not sure whether I'll try ESO or not, but I'm certainly interested in seeing shots from those who do play it.

It might get bad after it goes free this month, lol.

I did not know about this thread, why didn't you tell me?

Holy Cow, these are Awesome! I never knew ESO looked so good! Please PM me when you post, I have trouble keeping up with new posts without some cues (if you don't mind doing that for me). This place looks faantastic!

Do they have a campaign mode for just like two people? Single player mode? If I get it, would you be willing to babysit a newb till I get used to playing an online game? (I can't do it now, it will be a few months before I can).

Awesome shots, all of them!

Here is Misa's picture (of her back), bringing it to the right thread, lol.

It must be fun to run around with two daedric critters along for the adventure! smile.gif

I didn't think about taking a screenshot of her in the inventory screen, lol. That screenshot was straight out of prison, that is the prison garb your character is given if they have no armor on creation.

In the beginning when you are creating your character and choosing their armor - I took off her clothing to make sure she didn't have body painting (she did, I had to remove it) - but I forgot to put clothing on her before pushing the "Create Character" button.

So instead of sending them in naked, the game gives them that adorable prison outfit to wear. It has no enchantment whatsoever, no damage rating of protection like armor has - so all in all, I'm pretty shocked she made it out of Coldharbour without dying!

She died plenty once she got to the training island though, so her friend their gave her some armor to wear. I did love that outfit, but without a house to store items in, and such a limited amount of space to store in banks and inventory - ended up selling my prison outfit, but hated to.

And those conjured Daedra are great for keeping up with where my friend was at any given time, I can see them easily and from a distance - and on more than one occasion they have saved my life in wolf pack attacks. The one in the air has a deadly aim, and protects me as well when I travel with them.

If you are with a friend you can pull up their name on your friends list and choose to either be the leader or let them lead. Whoever is the leader gets a crown that shows up over their head and also shows up on your compass so you can "follow your leader" by compass if you lose sight of them.

Woot! Any picture of Jerric is a good one - anytime, anywhere. He does indeed look different with his more cosmo hair but that's what I think it is - just different. As ever, he looks great. Thanks for sharing!

And mALX, it is fabulous to see Misa in ESO land. I love her magey friend's conjured pals!

Not sure if it's ESO or my Xbox but I keep losing about 60% of the screenshots I take. *sigh*

Also finally managed to get to the Imperial City, but it was really foggy and the slaughterfish don't let anyone get across Lake Rumare. We're determined to get a good pic of it, even if it kills Haa Rei (again).

Posted by: Grits Jun 12 2015, 01:51 PM

Acadian, thank you for your kind support. Jerric’s cosmo hair reminds him of his years in uniform when he had to keep a neat appearance. That’s a good thing, since he’s mostly kept the good memories. smile.gif

Yikes, hazmick, slaughterfish! Jerric learned about swimming in deep water yesterday. indifferent.gif

I love Haa-Rei’s hood. What a neat view of the little Hist and the Argonian settlement. Congrats on the storm atronach! biggrin.gif I like how Riften looks familiar but still different from in Skyrim.

Jerric has been http://i.imgur.com/ws2ZZLw.jpg exploring every crevice. In between getting booted from the game due to errors he also has to contend with me wandering off to deal with RL issues since the game can’t be paused. Sometimes he lies down for a power nap, but his favorite way to pass the time is leaning against a wall flipping a coin. I suspect that’s because it makes a cool little sound that I can hear from wherever I’ve walked off to attend to some matter. (Someone at the door, phone, tea emergency, finding an item for a family member that is sitting out in plain view, someone at the door again, now the tea is cold.) You can’t see the coin in these pictures, but here is http://i.imgur.com/4LVbuSq.jpg and http://i.imgur.com/ce2fTuK.jpg. You can see his pet scuttler Pip in the Bleakrock ones.

Hazmick - Haa-Rei looks great. I'm sure it's very comforting having his stormy pile-o-rocks pal with him for back up. biggrin.gif

Jerric looks every bit the manly muscular Nord, then the Scuttler shows off his fluffy side tongue.gif

Haa Rei can't seem to get the super-cool-nonchalant wall lean right and always ends up leaning on thin air. He usually goes with the 'play lute' or 'sit in chair' emotes when I go for a tea break. happy.gif

This is amazing! I saw the screenshot in my email box yesterday, but couldn't read the caption on there - and I thought that looked just like Riften! It is awesome that it is, that we get to go to Riften in ESO! How close it looks in ESO to Skyrim's Riften!

You are so much further along than I am! I just got to do the primarily Argonian settlement of Bal Foyen, and I was amazed at the wonderfully unique personalities ESO has given the Argonians! They are very believably lizard people, not just humans with leathery skin.

Kudos and excellent job to ESO for the personality they infused in them, I fell in love with that place (other than the 10 deaths I suffered there, but none of that was by Argonians).

I am really loving seeing so much of Haa Rei in ESO !!!!

I read in my email notice SubRosa saying she saw his "Scutter" in the screenshot and really wondered ... what the heck she saw that she was referring to as a "Scutter," - in my mind picturing one of those short fast Pirate boats, lol.

So I poured over the picture looking for a Scutter (or possibly something Jerric might have shaped like a small fast boat) - and finally figured out it was the little pet thingy! I have seen a lot of those, but did not know what they were, rollinglaugh.gif

I love these screens of Jerric leaning - his personality is def starting to shine through, lol. Awesome shots!

Vermillion Scuttler: A reptilian pal from Morrowind, where they're known for quickness, devotion, and a mildly offensive odor.

The little guy came with the Explorer’s Pack pre-order bonus. Jerric did not plan to travel with a pet, but they had him at “mildly offensive odor.” biggrin.gif It’s pretty hilarious when Jerric is in a menu near a table or raised surface. I guess Jerric won't have to miss Ulfe climbing in with him after rolling in dead fish or something now, lol. (although he can get a dog somewhere, because Peregrine showed up with a dog the other day, lol).

I'm with Jerric, though, about the hair. Just a little too slick for our ruff 'n' ready Nord hero. But I could get used to it . . . wink.gif

2nd shot = GAAAAAH! Are you already going back into Coldharbour? Or do we meet up with Sir Cadwell again later in the game?

hazmick, the dead Dread Daedroth really looks frightening. Congrats on getting Eiroch the horse! That’s a major accomplishment. The waterfall area is lovely. Wow, Coldharbor looks neat. That’s a cool staff. I was so excited to meet Sir Cadwell, even though at that point I hadn’t even figured out how to sheath a weapon or turn off the voice channel. I made everyone in the house come over and listen to him. biggrin.gif

http://i.imgur.com/YiQ0SIq.jpg. Sadly at his current rate of earning it will be at least a year before he can buy a horse. He likes his white Imperial pony Bill, but as ever he prefers to walk everywhere. Not a bad thing when you’re an alchemist.

These screens are great, I do picture Jerric standing around practicing a new spell like he used to in that basement room of the Mages Guild in Anvil with Darnand, lol.

And that is the first Paint horse I've seen!

** Am I the only one who has fallen in love with the Betty Netches? OMG, I LOVE them! That sound they make is so peaceful and pleasant!

And the little Scuttlers are all over Bal Foyen, I petted a few but got no response. Still, knowing now (thanks to Jerric) that they stink had me laughing every time I saw them, lol.

I spent last night farming that area where the fields are cultivated in low lying water; trying to build up fighting skills and gathering the runes there; then Misa went to some town and played the lute to help the merchants attract customers. I got some screenshots of it, will have to get on my son's PC to upload them.

How do you go back to it? I could sure use some of the filled soul gems the loot is loaded with there! Or is it the questline bringing you back to it?

In the glowy hand screen it looks like Haa Rei is grinning! Did you see that? That is Awesome!

Er...where his arms were glowing, the flesh is missing in the screen where he is showing off his staff, what happened? His bones in his arms are showing! Poor Haa Rei!

These screens are all so amazing, how does it feel to visit the place of Haa Rei's hatching? And to see the cycle continuing? This is so Awesome to see an Argonian actually returning to his homeland like the Oblivion "rumors" used to say!

The stuff you have crafted yourself, and especially your staff - can you show us the stats on the items you worked so hard to make? I would love to get some insight on crafting your own equipment, feel free to go into as much detail about how it is done and your impressions, etc - bragging is welcome, lol.

biggrin.gif He's always smiling! Even when facing off against hordes of daedra. As for his bone arms, it's just the design of his gauntlets. He's thin, but not quite that thin tongue.gif

It's so nice to be in Black Marsh, I can't describe how exciting it is. I've known Haa Rei since I first played Oblivion all those years ago and we've been wanting to see his homeland since day 1. There's so much lore and backstory stuff!

I'll find a crafting table so I can get some base stats and pop the info in one of the other threads for you smile.gif

Isn't that funny, I always thought of Argonians as kind of reptilian - (cold blooded), so the temperature changes were barely noticeable to them whether hot or cold, and that was why they fared so well in the extreme cold in Skyrim as well as the extreme heat in Black Marsh. (and how they can stay underwater where it is so cold for such long times).

I've never played an Argonian or studied them in the lore - it was just based on the way they look reptilian. So it was just an impression I had personally, a guess at how I would think they might be based on how reptiles are irl.

I remember seeing that "Crocodile Hunter" show - they did an episode on how they made their show. The guy used to freeze the lizards and snakes for his show so they would move slower for filming, but freezing didn't effect them in any way except to slightly slow them down temporarily. Within a minute out of the freezer they were back up to full speed so they had to shoot fast to get the film made and a lot of times had to scoop them back up and refreeze them if the filming didn't catch it right.

(so if you noticed the lighting change during filming, you weren't imagining it).

It just never occurred to me Haa Rei would have felt the cold so much, so these screens were really interesting to me, and it really helps me get into your roleplay with him.

At first my favorite shot was the one with the friendly Giant, that is an Awesome shot !!!! That was before I saw the last shot, where it looks like Lyris BornwithbigTitsen put a flower on Haa Rei's head and is warming him up nicely, lol. That one is my all time favorite Haa Rei screen of all time, can't compete with that !!!!!

Awesome shots, I am loving watching Haa Rei in Tamriel and hearing about his adventures in ESO!

I love the green Argonian armor. Haa-Rei looks so happy in that last pic with the titan girl! smile.gif

What is that number in front of some critters names? Like 32 Giant. Is that their level?

I think you are right, that it is the Giant's level (maybe to warn some drunk Nord leaving that party from beginning a brawl with the wrong character, lol).

Haa-Rei looks great! Poor lizard trying to stay warm in Windhelm. Brrrr! I'm so glad he found some warm company and tea to ease the cold. smile.gif

From what I understand, Argonians are indeed cold-blooded. This means that they should die in cold weather, or at the very least suffer some serious health problems. Being cold-blooded just means that their bodies are affected by external temperatures way more than warm-blooded races, who can generate their own heat and regulate temperature. That's why lizards and snakes sunbathe on a morning and mostly live in warm places - sort of like charging up their internal battery happy.gif

Most real-world cold-blooded animals allow themselves to freeze during winter and thaw out during spring, with the help of some handy chemicals in their bloodstream which acts a bit like anti-freeze. Of course it's always cold in Skyrim so Haa Rei couldn't just hibernate all the time (as much as he'd like to). I'm not sure about fish and other cold water creatures, but I guess they have a similar sytem.

An in-game book I found in ESO claims that Argonians don't seem to have as much trouble in the snow as you'd think, and the Altmer author thinks it's something to do with Hist sap which Argonians ingest as hatchlings. So Argonians can still feel the cold, and it most likely makes them a little sluggish, but they can still function in colder areas at least as well as an Imperial or a Bosmer.

ESO has been such a treasure trove of info about Argonians - I've just been super excited the whole time biggrin.gif

One of the advantages of being cold-blooded is that it does not require as much energy to maintain the body. So reptiles can survive on much less food than warm-blooded animals.

This is fascinating! I have never played an Argonian, always wondered how they would be played! I love this, this is so great! One of the major issues I had in creating Maxical's character was how to balance the leopard with the elf side of her genes and ancestry; it was a ton of fun researching the lore and the real life cats to come up with my own version of what Khajiit might be like. You have played Haa Rei since at least 2009 that I know of, so you know him and his physicals better than anyone - really awesome how you have worked out everything for his metabolism, I love it!!!

hazmick, I love that Haa Rei got to visit his hatching pool. The picture of him with Lyris Titanborn is my favorite yet. I love the armor he is wearing, and it’s great news that we’ll get to save Lyris somehow. She does indeed look like a Titan standing next to Haa Rei! happy.gif

I love how you can wear your shield on your back. Can you use a two-handed weapon with a shield on your back? Or is that just where your shield goes when you sheath your sword?

I am surprised at how many Skyrim things I see in this. Like the way the spoken text is displayed, or the compass bar. Not to mention how many Skyrim mods are built into ESO, like fishing and shields on your back. I know ESO was not made by Bethesda, so I was expecting it to look much different.

OMG, these fishing shots are fantastic! I never fished in Skyrim, is it this good there too? With the cleaning fish and everything? That is amazing! Oh, I am going to have to fish now, that is really exciting for roleplay to even see him cleaning the fish! And the bobber in the water fishing! Does it really bob up and down and everything?

Oh no, oh dear. I am supposed to be "talking to" that same person, and last time I looked the marker was in Ash Mountain ... where I got killed a hundred times trying to find the Skyshard and never found it !!!! Urk.

I was really not wanting to go back in there, so pushed that quest aside while I did a few easier ones (hoping to get the courage up to go back in, I guess). sad.gif

That’s my favorite of Jerric’s shields. I love looking at it while he walks around. biggrin.gif The shield is shown on the character when it’s equipped in the off-hand, stowed on the back when the one-handed weapon is sheathed. Equipping a greatsword fills both hands and un-equips the shield. I haven’t tried it but I doubt that the shield would show on the character’s back when it wasn’t equipped.

The battle inside Ash Mountain is pretty tough, so you have a good idea to be prepared. It took some strategy and a few potions, plus Jerric ate his best food before the fight. It was very satisfying, though, and now some folks call him the Hero of Ash Mountain. Unlike some other titles he really feels like he earned this one!

Urk, now I'm really glad I didn't take this one right away. I thought originally they just showed the Captain right outside the gates and that maybe if I hurried I could catch her before she ends up in Ash Mountain. I really hated Ash mountain badly, and those horrible evil monkeys with their fire spells were worse than the spiders - and all of them attacked in groups, no singular attacks! Gaaaaah. sad.gif

I might take some time and do some Provisionary stuff first, get myself psyched up to do it, lol.

The evil monkeys sound like those scamps that burned the hells out of Jerric every time he turned around in that area. Those runes they cast on the ground, ugh! Killing so many of them made him level up in the Fighters Guild. He used Reflective Light from the Dawn’s Wrath skill line against them a lot, since it hits up to three targets. The fight inside Ash Mountain is the very last battle in the whole big quest, and you know you are going to do it because you use a portal to get in there. Don’t worry about getting forced in without warning, you will know it’s coming.

Hey, how does Jerric level up in the fighters guild killing the fire-monkey things? Is that a separate quest for them or does just joining the Fighters Guild give bonuses for combat/killing?

Once you join the Fighters Guild you get their skill line, and you can put skill points into it just like any other skill line. The way you increase the Fighters Guild skill is by killing daedra and possibly undead, I’m not really sure. Kind of the way making potions levels up your Alchemy skill and making daggers levels up Blacksmithing. He also got a notice that his Fighters Guild skill had increased after he helped close a Dark Anchor, and that was all about daedra and undead killing.

Jerric has to clear up some business with a coral heart, but then the FG quest Anchors from the Harbor is next up. He’s already in the area, so unless he gets too involved with various Dunmeri farmers and their guar problems he should soon meet two guild mates. smile.gif

Daggerfall – Very impressive. I imagine the green is welcome after spending time in Hammerfell. smile.gif

mALX - they were all just for show I'm afraid. Not a single skill point to be found sad.gif

Acadian - Yep, he can't sit still for more than 5 minutes. Such is the life of an adventurer, and what better steed for an Argonian than a Guar! I have a sneaking suspicion that the two are distantly related. biggrin.gif

ghastley - Ah yes, Honor Blackguar. Has lots of cats, I believe. tongue.gif

Grits - One of these days Jerric is going to fish right into the path of an Argonian out for a morning swim. biggrin.gif Glad to see him helping out the Mages Guild. Can't wait to hear his thoughts on it all.

Haa-Rei is still unsure about Daggerfall. Hazmick, I know what you mean about not sitting still for five minutes. My elf’s the same. tongue.gif

Yup, a guar mount sounds perfect!

Wow, that first scenery shot here in Daggerfall is very neat. What a beautiful big tree. And nice shot of Haa-Rei’s bow on his back.

So, in the second picture, is he wearing a Breton outfit? If so, something tells me he’ll never really pass for one of them. wink.gif

Honor is cute!

It is neat to see all these other cultures, for the first time in a long time. Daggerfell has pretty towers, and I love the sand dunes of Hammerfell. But I agree with Haa, the Bretons sound like they have a bug up their hind ends.

Jerric fishing got me interested in fishing big time, but so far haven't made it to actually fish. That is really interesting about the Atronach power, is that something they have in ESO? I didn't find it if it was, but would sure like it. I run out of Magicka all the time; and at the worst moments.

I saw some Player party goers killing a Betty Netch - had to leave, because there was nothing I could do to stop them. I didn't want to see her die, but did find her body on the way back through. Really ticked me off, they are so awesome, I hate to see them slaughtered for no reason.

I had to summon Arch Mage Shalidor for Sheogorath; is that the same quest? Somehow when Misa did it, it didn't look as cool or deserve a screenshot, lol. Urk. Jerric must be an awesome mage!

Love these screenshots, Jerric looks great in ESO !!!

mALX - they were all just for show I'm afraid.

Everyone seems a bit too fancy for a lizard who grew up in a mud hut. http://i.imgur.com/r2Tr1VL.png, and http://i.imgur.com/cximolZ.png Haa-Rei never thought he'd miss the Dark Elves, but all he wants to do right now is to rescue a cute Dunmer from almost certain death. It's the simple things in life that you miss the most.

Oh, the scenery in Daggerfall is gorgeous!!!! Aw, poor Haa Rei! I like his Argonian armor on him better, the Breton armor doesn't do him justice! Awesome shots!

Posted by: Grits Jun 24 2015, 04:16 AM

Acadian, Jerric got to summon and consult with the real Shalidor in that scene! He was somewhat in awe and even more convinced that he’s experiencing some sort of extended fever dream. Sadly Arch-Mage Shalidor is not a regular summoning spell, so Jerric has to wait to talk to him again. Jerric keeps checking the waterfalls for wood elves. Hope springs eternal. happy.gif

hazmick, Haa-Rei looks so handsome in his Breton robes! Daggerfall looks beautiful. I hope Haa-Rei meets some friendly Bretons.

Love these screenshots, Jerric looks great in ESO !!!

In Oblivion the Atronach Birthsign gives you zero magicka regeneration, and in Skyrim I have modded the Atronach Stone to give zero magicka regeneration instead of just slowing it. So Jerric is used to having no magicka regen at all, he only gets magicka from absorption and potions. In ESO his magicka is the same as everyone else’s since he is not cursed by the Atronach. He still runs out, but then it comes back on its own so he can cast again.

Funnily enough the ESO Atronach Mundus Stone supposedly increases your magicka regen, which is the opposite of the previous games. Jerric hasn’t found the Atronach Mundus Stone yet. He’s found The Lady and The Lover so far.

The Shalidor screenshot is the same quest that Misa did, it’s part of the Mages Guild quests related to Sheogorath. The ritual just looked cool, so I snapped a rare shot of Jerric looking like a mage. biggrin.gif I hate when players kill the Bettys. Apparently there’s some kind of achievement for it. kvleft.gif

Jerric went fishing again today after some saddening (and unavoidable) deaths in a major quest. Since he’s alone and the brothel ‘nightflowers’ are always busy, fishing is his way to unwind. The bobber does bob and there are fun fishing noises. He loves it.

The Breton outfit ended up being a no-go. Not enough scale motifs on it for Haa-Rei's taste.

The scenery of High Rock continues to impress, and we even found http://i.imgur.com/vwQB5IC.png

Also, some http://i.imgur.com/PnjtSs7.png I believe they refer to this as 'art'.

Finally, at a Hammerfell-themed engagement party, Haa-Rei found http://i.imgur.com/QNdtpNf.png At last.

'Cosy swamp area' is just a spectacular shot. I love the color and details on both Haa-Rei and his guar, as well as the nice flowing water in front of them. Makes a nice balance with the more gloomy leafless trees and fog.

Oh noes! Not gonna trade the guar in for a camel is he? tongue.gif

Still not sure if I'm getting ESO, but wow those screens are great! Grits and Hamzick, I bet you guys are having so much fun in Tamriel.

Posted by: SubRosa Jun 25 2015, 02:06 PM

The cosy swamp looks great. It looks like they did a much better job on the shore line than the regular ES games. In those ones there is a very sharp contrast between water and land, and the contours of the shore tended to have a lot of straight lines. But in ESO the shore looks much more rounded and gradual. The lillypads and reeds growing out of the water help too. That pic makes me want Elder Scrolls VI: Black Marsh.

Posted by: ghastley Jun 25 2015, 02:14 PM

I wonder to what extent they're using ESO to determine preferences for TES VI? Most popular areas become candidates for next game's setting?

Posted by: Darkness Eternal Jun 25 2015, 03:35 PM

Probably High Rock due to the area. Bethesda is a fan of medieval europe and trees and stuff. I like it too. But I'd be a welcome change to visit Elsweyr in the sixth installment. I'd definitely roll out a khajiit and take a break from Imperials. I find their lore and culture fascinating.

Haa-Rei has decided that noblewoman mother is an idiot, but he still helped out once he saw http://i.imgur.com/uiTt1dx.png

Haa-Rei has finally managed to finish his business in High Rock, and has moved to Hammerfell. The Alik'r desert is lovely this time of year. Plenty of sand and necromancy. http://i.imgur.com/UzbFiM7.png Decided to just dye the regular Argonian gear some desert-y colours instead.

To business then, and Haa-Rei has been http://i.imgur.com/ow4eai7.png and enjoying some http://i.imgur.com/Ju0rFwR.png I hesitate to add that Haa-Rei didn't participate in the lizard race, but we are pleased to see that reptiles are so highly prized in Redguard society. Updates: We found a crafting station so decided to make some more comfortable armor. Went with http://i.imgur.com/ayoDJcs.png, and the Breton style hood (since it has a handy anti-sand mask). In the first shot, are we seeing bare-naked Argonian legs? I love that lizard, those things are wicked fast! Can you feed them up like you can with horses?

I love this desert area, it looks so well done! Acadian used a mod of Elsweyr that was desert area, and it looked fantastic too; (and Skyrim had a desert mod that was awesome as well) - and so far I haven't actually gotten to play any of them.

Is the desert area an area you have to be a veteran rank to play?

These are all great shots, I'm really loving seeing what is ahead!

Posted by: hazmick Jun 29 2015, 01:51 AM

Acadian - glad you like it. I'll be getting some more desert pics just for you laugh.gif

mALX - No bare legs, just bare arms. Yep, you can feed up your guar just like a horse. The desert is the 4th area of the Daggerfall Covenant, so I'm not sure what level it'll be for someone in that alliance. It's veteran for me since Haa-Rei is Ebonheart Pact.

I think Jerric is earning mid 300-some gold for these low-level writs, but the extra skill progression and occasional nice item to deconstruct in the reward pack makes it worthwhile. Alchemy has been easy since you find what you need for free. He has to buy some style materials to complete the blacksmithing ones. And he’s been stuck on his second provisioning one for ages since he didn’t have the recipe. This was after the “white meat” disaster. But Lil found the recipe for him! Woo!

That is one of the few good things about sharing a bank account, being able to place a needed item for one character in the bank for the other to get.

But you can "mail" stuff to other players too (not other characters on your account). I've sent stuff to my son's account for him to use (or store in his bank if he has room). Then if I ask he can mail it back if he still has it.

You can either send stuff as a gift or have an arrangement to mail items to them and they will hold them till you ask and then mail them back - as long as you get them within 30 days it is okay, but on the 30th day the game deletes mail in your box.

But you can send out stuff as presents too, people gave Misa a lot of enchanted armor when she first started, and I've sent gifts to other people too - mostly potions Misa made on my son's account.

It is kind of cool to be able to give gifts to other players.

Darn it - I was just 350 short of buying 10 more slots in my bank account, and Bubba sold all the ingots and leather Misa had in there to buy more space.

Bubba has been finding many more reasearchable items than Misa was able to find (and not by stealing, these are legal items) - so he has filled the bank with them; and of course there is a waiting period between times when you can research something so it is taking forever to empty them out of the account.

Posted by: Grits Jul 1 2015, 05:03 PM

The little snakes and bantam guars are also super cute. happy.gif

Bank space is a big issue for my crew as well. Between the three of them they will be doing all of the crafting skills, and Provisioning alone has about fifty different ingredients. The next bank upgrade will cost over 11,000 gold. Jerric is feeding Bill the pack horse for extra bag space, but if Lil uses a mount she will want speed and health instead so she won’t get knocked off while fleeing. I’m not sure what Darnand will want. He’s not in the game yet, and there are some enchanting supplies and staves to research and deconstruct already waiting for him in the bank.

I’m told that a lot of folks end up making characters called ‘Mules-the-Mats’ and the like who just stand around in the bank storing items for the main character.

I think the little snakes are cute too, but the HUGE ones freak me the heck out!

I've heard that about the mules too, but how do you get the materials out of them at the bank? That is what I had trouble figuring out!

I considered making a different character to do each of the craftings and only that - so like Misa the Chef would do nothing but the provisioning; Misa the Smithy would do nothing but the Blacksmithing - etc. And whatever they earned would go straight into the bank.

So that way that character would have nothing but those supplies on them - then when your active questing character goes out adventuring they gather up all the supplies and put it in the bank - you exit that character and start the other characters up one at a time to pull those mats from the bank and craft them to fill the writs? Is that how it works? That would make sense about them being waiting in the bank then.

Also, you could sink more skill points into their crafting rather than combat that way too, and your main character could sink all of his into combat and defense. I can see how it would be good, but not the details of how it works.

I wanted to fully understand the idea before trying it, because just having two characters is kind of iffy for me - not as enjoyable as having just one. What I mean is, Misa is getting neglected while Bubba makes the money to pay for a lot of stuff that will make Misa's game more comfortable. I don't enjoy playing Bubba as much as playing Misa. I don't mind being a thief in the game, it's not that - but it freaks me out to hear Bubba's throaty male voice in game, I am so used to hearing my character being female.

I got some screens of Bubba last night, will have to upload them and post them.

Posted by: Grits Jul 1 2015, 06:39 PM

I’d love to see pictures of Bubba! The Redguards I’ve seen so far in the game look awesome. Darnand just met a Redguard sailor at the docks and is quite taken with her. She has a beautiful voice. Also she was telling him the story of how she saved his life at sea, so that might have been a factor.

The mule character just stands in the bank holding goods, for example gear that you’re not high enough level to use, trait and style materials that you don’t need yet, or items awaiting research. When you need those items you load the mule character, have them deposit what you need in the bank, then quit and load the character who needs the items who can then get the things out of the bank.

I’ve been keeping the crafting material in the bank since you can use them from there, but now my characters are going to have to start carrying their own crafting supplies. There’s not enough bank space to store all of their things plus use the bank to pass items between characters.

With voices I got lucky with Jerric’s voice. He was the first character I created, and I didn’t see the slider to select the voices. He just got whichever one the slider was on. The other day when he was applauding his fellow revelers he started yelling “Woo! Woo! Woo!” in a voice like a dog barking. Turns out he has a deep, loud, and somewhat obnoxious laugh, which is perfect for him. laugh.gif

So kind of like just getting 60 extra slots for free! I might do that then - but bring them through Coldharbour to get extra soul gems and lockpicks, have them deposit those and withdraw all the researching items except the next to be used - and probably let them hold the glyphs and runes too.

I've been selling off or destroying glyphs just to make room.

The frogs are cute! Was the naked Nord's hammer taken by a Witch? There is a precedent for that in Morrowind...

Posted by: Grits Jul 2 2015, 01:51 AM

There were a stolen axe and a witch involved, but the naked Nord’s wife seemed to think the witch ran off when alarmed by her husband’s nakedness rather than stealing the axe which was the naked Nord’s explanation for its loss. Apparently this was not the first time he lost his pants and possibly other things. It was fun to see this little tribute to Morrowind. smile.gif

Thanks! I was actually pretty pleased with his looks; but there have been a few times I've wished I'd picked a different voice. His laugh could be better, and when he falls he sounds like a girl screaming - but he does look good, lol.

(Misa has an Awesome laugh, and I don't mind her screaming like a girl, lol!)

I found Maiq in Bal Foyen or Bleakrock, can't remember which - but there is an achievement for finding him in every province or something. I haven't found him in Daggerfall yet, lol.

I looked it up, and there are several locations in every area that he can appear in which means you need to find him ~19 times to get the achievement ohmy.gif Haa-Rei says he won't rest until he's done it.

Wow, 19 times you have to find him?

Oh, is that one of those crafting tables to make unique enchanted armor? I found one of those special workstations to make that unique enchanted armor in the Daggerfall area! It is in a trapdoor/basement under a house called "Chill House" - surrounded by some really tough enemies, but Bubba sneaked by them.

Unfortunately, I didn't have the materials to craft anything in there, but am going back when I've got them loaded up and ready.

How do they work, just like any other station? What is the thing about 3 items?

That Dwemer ruin is gorgeous!

I might have some soon, if my character survives long enough to see them. I started a new character last night for the Aldmeri Dominion to test it out; and to test out the Sorcerer class. (my thoughts on it will be in the "Characters" thread). But the Aldmeri covers Summerset Isles, if I'm not mistaken. So if it does I'll take some screens of it.

M’aiq! How fun, I had no idea he was roaming around.

Haa Rei’s staff and Dwarven robe look amazing, and so does that cavern! Wow, there’s a lot to see.

Ooo, I know that crafting station! That has to be Armature’s Upheaval, which is one of Jerric’s favorite fishing spots. He even noted it on his journal page. Someday maybe he’ll actually craft something there. laugh.gif

Darnand has been exploding things andhttp://i.imgur.com/viosSeL.jpg (disguised as a servant here, another trousers picture that he’ll have to burn) around Stros M’Kai. Now he’s now back in Daggerfall. Thanks to Jerric he’s learned to talk to people more, but sometimes he doesn’t want to hear what they have to say.

There was also a woman who went on and on and on about her delicious sweet roll. Darnand suspects he might be the least horny Breton in Glenumbra.

mALX - basically with those crafting tables you can craft special gear which has in-built enhancements which only work when a certain number of items in the set are equipped. The more items in the set you have, the more upgrades it will apply.

Grites - That's the one! Crafting, a waterfall AND Dwemer stuff all in the same place? Haa-Rei might just live here forever happy.gif

Speaking of Haa-Rei, he's been relaxing today. Fortunately he got some screenies for you all to look at.

Poor mage. He was probably just asking directions and got to listen to Michebert and Neomi’s plans to . . . go riding. It is encouraging though to hear that sweet rolls are alive and well in ESO land. tongue.gif

Oh, and I’m loving your screenshot of the month for Sun’s Height. Using Itchy to keep cool is brilliant!

Hazmick - Great shots from Haa-Rei's travels. I especially like the wonderful blue of his armor in the first shot and the bright colors of that pink tree in the second one.

Oh Thank You! That is the clearest description I've heard of how they work yet, I was still not sure how they worked after reading several items about them. Oh, I most def need to gather up some materials now!

You have to have more than one trait for each item? I have been researching traits since minutes after waking from the tutorial dungeon; now I have a reason to save them up so I can go back to Chill House - Bubba can make sets and put them in the bank for any character to grab and use, lol.

I love that shot of Auridon - but OOOOH! The Breton afterlife? More details on that, please? Awesome shots!

Yes, those two Bretons making a riding date are in Daggerfall. Darnand has gotten a little tired of the city. Too many people all over the place, especially too many people (players) getting naked and dancing in the fountain at night. Jerric will have a blast when he gets here. That is so cute with the animals watching the campfire, lol.

I like how the Console adds what to push for your hot bar keys! That is very cool - not that you have time to read it in combat, but it is easier to learn that way (or would be for me).

Great shots !!! - Hey, how do you take screenshots with a Console game? I didn't know that was possible!

Wow, Lildereth is over level 15 already? That is amazing! I love the Big Elf/Little Elf the best - first off because I think it is a great screen of Lildereth; but secondly - it really shows the magnitude of this game, it is a huge scale game! Those statues are amazing, I think I have taken a screen of them too - really needing to start another photo account to upload screens to off the PC, I have a lot of ones from ESO; but TESA's uploader is klunky and not user friendly; and the screens come out really small.

Nope, Lildereth and Darnand are both level 10. Jerric is level 22. None of them has been to Cyrodiil yet, though they all have gotten their invitations. I’ve had Jerric loitering around Mournhold waiting for the others to catch up for crafting purposes, but I let him out to wander a bit today. As much as I love my other characters, Jerric is by far my favorite to travel with. No matter how many aspects of Jerric I make in different games and stories he’s still the same guy.

http://i.imgur.com/7nJFrEJ.jpg. He supposes that the lake is called Lagomere. He can’t confirm this because these Dunmer won’t let him ask any questions other than the ones they want him to ask. He caught six or maybe seven rare fish there in between fighting off daedra. That lake has a bunch of waterfalls, and as long as you keep an eye on the kagouti it’s safe enough to run around naked. (Well, he’s never without his sword.) Even safe enough for wood elves. Hint, hint.

He got a surprise when he visited the Bal Foyen Dockyards. http://i.imgur.com/YpwhS2d.jpg. So was the Earth-Turner daughter who had gone to defend the docks. She was too busy training to talk to him, but Captain Rana and the Sergeant had a minute for him. They both seemed to think the invasion hadn’t happened yet. Perhaps they all got hit with some Breton brain-addling spell and forgot. Jerric was happy to see them on their feet whatever the cause.

Wait, I thought that extra box before the hot bar (as seen in the Misty Forest screenshot above) indicated the second hot bar so you could just click on it to switch weapons - what is it for then?

I noticed it on Bubba's game, he is the only one to get a second hot bar so far; but haven't had a chance to try using it since getting it - wanted to practice switching between the healing staff and duel wield before he gets into a combat situation.

But on the PC game you don't get the second hot bar till level 15; do you get it at level 10 on the console? (if so, Grrrrr!!!!)

By the way, thank you so much for the great advice about doing the crafting writs, I had no idea how much gold they gave you for those writs! And the supplies - I actually got one temper that turns something legendary (just need 4 more now, lol).

But the Alts I have been using for inventory slot space have now begun performing crafting writs every day, and each character is raking in about 1000 gold daily from them. Everyone got backpack upgrades and the bank is over 100 slots already, lol. Thank you!

I got some screenshots when I played last, but my internet has been down a few days; I'll upload them once I catch up on all the posts I missed.

Yep, what hazmick said. smile.gif The number 2 in the left box indicates she had two potions in the hotkeyed stack. The empty box on the far right means she has no Ultimate skill yet, since that’s where it will go when she has one. That bar is not usually visible. Maybe something was targeting her when I hit the screenshot button.

I think there’s an issue with my game and the crafting writs. Jerric got a bunch of them before he moved up a level, but Darnand and Lil each got only one before they started getting them with the next tier materials.

Wait, I thought that extra box before the hot bar (as seen in the Misty Forest screenshot above) indicated the second hot bar so you could just click on it to switch weapons - what is it for then?

But on the PC game you don't get the second hot bar till level 15; do you get it at level 10 on the console? (if so, Grrrrr!!!!)

That's the healing potion hotkey. Still level 15 to get the second hot bar on consoles, don't worry happy.gif

QUOTE(Grits @ Jul 23 2015, 06:57 PM) *

Yep, what hazmick said. smile.gif The number 2 in the left box indicates she had two potions in the hotkeyed stack. The empty box on the far right means she has no Ultimate skill yet, since that’s where it will go when she has one. That bar is not usually visible. Maybe something was targeting her when I hit the screenshot button.

I think there’s an issue with my game and the crafting writs. Jerric got a bunch of them before he moved up a level, but Darnand and Lil each got only one before they started getting them with the next tier materials.

Here’s a shot from Darnand’s game: http://i.imgur.com/M7t4Ct5.jpg Are you sure that’s how he spells it?

Oh, how convenient! Oh, I will have to put some items in the Q and see if it works in my game, because so far I've not ever been able to access my potions in combat !!!

Thank you so much for the reply, I had no idea what that was for in Bubba's game, but since he had reached level 15 I assumed it was for the second hot bar - Thank you so much for the correction !!!!

mALX, bear in mind when you’re looking at screenshots that your PC interface could be different from my console interface, especially if you use a mod. For example I swap weapons with the same button that sheaths the equipped weapon, it’s just a short or long press. There’s nothing on the screen for me to click. You probably have two different keys for those functions.

Definitely try out your Quickslot! That’s the only way I know to use a potion during combat. Unfortunately I hit that button by accident pretty often while strolling around the countryside. In those cases the potion-used sound is quickly followed by me swearing out loud.

Added: Here’s http://i.imgur.com/gtBLxd8.jpg. She’s wearing the new dress that she made in her signature shades of green. Lil likes to get out of http://i.imgur.com/Hi0asXf.jpg when she’s in town, even when “in town” means in a tree.

And here are a few from Dragonknight Jerric:

Posted by: Acadian Jul 26 2015, 08:43 PM

Grits, I saw your original post but, thanks to dear Rider, just now saw the screens you edited in. And, wow, I’m glad I saw them! Lil looks spectacular in her greens – both the outfit and in the jungleforest.

Love Jerric’s new look as well! He does indeed look more. . . Jerric with slightly less coiffed hair than his previous style.

Hee! Had the pair of woodsters been Lil and Buf, I expect Jerric’s reception would have been much more welcoming. happy.gif

I couldn't wait, had to peek, lol. HOLY COW! Jerric most def looks like he has a bit of the Barbaric Nord in him here! Nice tattoo!

I LOVE Lildereth's dress, that is awesome! And very Wood Elfy green!

I personally didn't do well with the Dragon Knight, but that was a female - Jerric looks like he could handle it much better, lol.

I played with a Dragon Knight guy the other day, and he was kicking some butt with his character! I shelved mine and turned her into an Alt to give me inventory slots, but since you taught me about crafting writs she has been earning her keep too.

Stos M'Kai looks so neat! Thanks for the shots mALX. I note how big and open all the spaces seem to be - perhaps that is to accommodate lots of players - regardless, it looks very neat. I love the dog and horses roaming around. And Bubba has himself a horse!

Posted by: Lopov Jul 27 2015, 05:48 PM

Lildereth is looking good as always, she seems even more determined.

Whoa, Jerric looks a real barbarian in that pic. It suits him, though. And I see that he bears some new tattoos. Are body tattoos available by default?

The swimming pic makes me long for sea and beaches, great shot.

Thank you for the kind remarks, folks! It’s a little unsettling when old friends get new looks, and your warm support means a lot. Both wooly Jerric and GQ Jerric are equally savage in combat, lol. I guess you can’t comb that out! tongue.gif There are many other Nords who look a lot like GQ Jerric in his Ebonheart Pact game, but I haven’t seen many tattooed hairy Nords wandering around among the elves with hairy Jerric in Auridon.

Lopov, the body tattoos are available in the basic game. GQ Jerric got some body scars, but they don’t really show up in the pictures.

I was surprised that Lil chose that hairstyle pulled back so severely from her face. I thought she would go for one of the softer, ‘pretty’ looks, but she went almost feral on me. I love it even more since it’s not quite how I imagined but somehow even closer to her.

mALX, those are fabulous pictures of Bubba in Stros M’Kai! The water looks so inviting. Is that Misa in Mistral? She looks great! I recognize the Khajiiti bard. Lil liked to hang out there, too. I forget his name, but it made me laugh. Eye-Candy or something.

Here’s a picture of http://i.imgur.com/erVVKMp.jpg. It is a big place. He can’t step far away from the wall without waking up at a wayshrine. Even the little mudcrabs are twice his level and then some.

Is the Khajiit ones from the Aldmeri? Oops, I didn't realize that - thought Bubba was just taking screenshots of some woman with big boobs!

Well, if it is the Aldmeri, then that must be Calia - my Imperial Nightblade that is playing the Aldmeri. She is the one that is running around pantless with that Sentinel bow this past month, and has been taking down Dark Anchors that way (including the no greaves so you can see her panties below the cuirass).

Several people took note of her attire (or lack thereof), and this past couple weeks I've noticed other females in the Aldmeri going around in just cuirasses and no greaves, so it seems she started a fad, lol.

Bubba must have just missed Darnand, he just left Wayrest the other day. Darnand looks just like I always imagined him!

The water splashing surprised me, which is what spurred that photo shoot, lol.

Calia in the beach pictures is my (fairly new) Imperial girl; she is a Nightblade - I replaced Caria the Altmer Sorcerer with Calia because I was having a LOT of trouble playing the Sorcerer Class.

Caria the Altmer Sorcerer is still in my game; she has been working crafting writs and is the keeper of all the armor and weapon making supplies. Here is a screen of her. The angle of the shot hides her pointed ears, but she has them, lol:

I wouldn't kick Caria out of bed for eating crackers, that is for sure!

I know I have said it before, but I really like how the characters look in this game. Bethesda could learn a lot on that score, instead of going out of their way to make our characters ugly with blocky textures and green tints on their Redguard's skin.

Thanks, Acadian! Bless her heart, she is the one that had the guard tell her that her face would curdle milk, but she really is pretty I think, lol.

I have been getting tips from other Players of Sorcerers so maybe one day I'll bring her back out of the city and play her again, but for right now i'm just really enjoying my Nightblade characters - they are a blast to play, even more fun than the Templar, which is saying a Lot!

Calia (the Imperial in the bathing suit on the beach pictures above) - she is the one setting fashion in the Aldmeri by wearing no greaves in combat, here is a picture of her in her version of combat attire:

Agreed 100% - I have trouble playing if everything around me is ugly. Skyrim was such a turn off to me until you helped me with the beautification of the females in it. That made a HUGE difference to me, I could never thank you enough for that!

ESO has the ability to make your character pretty vanilla (or ugly if you want them to be, but it is your choice - Or you can play as a skeleton or goblin if you want).

Some of the female NPC voices are stunning too; I would love to have access to the voice files of one of them, and all I've heard her say so far is: "Hail!"

She started a fad of going pants-less in the Aldmeri, lol. It looks so good on her that I have bypassed a few pairs of greaves she could have worn and deconstructed them instead, lol.

Thanks so much for your comments (everyone) !!!

Posted by: mALX Aug 4 2015, 08:40 PM

This is not my screenshot; but it was such a good example of the cats in ESO that I wanted to post it. They are everywhere, laying on beds like they own the place, sitting in doorways licking their paws. There is one that lives in the bank at Davon's Watch that I heard meowing when I was in there and then finally hunted down where the sound was coming from, lol.

And if you accidentally step on one, you hear them just like you would a real cat "MEOWWWWW!"

I am in love with the cats in ESO! And now you can get your own cat from the Crown Store, and I think they are essential because I've never seen a dead cat in ESO (thank goodness!).

Here is the shot:

https://account.elderscrollsonline.com/assets/shop/screenshots/full/750Pet_Housecat_RAW6_lrg.png

I've got screens of a Siamese cat that hangs out outside the bank in Daggerfall:

http://i.imgur.com/SMKUQGx.png

It is walking away from the spot it just squatted; and afterwards acted like it was covering up something it left there (right under the Billboard for writs that we have to stand at to grab our writs, thank you very much!)

And if you don't believe me, I also caught that on film:

http://i.imgur.com/UKmDOiC.png

Okay, so he was just licking his paws there. But it looked the other way to me when I first started snapping the film, rollinglaugh.gif

Posted by: mALX Aug 26 2015, 12:12 AM

Thank you all very much!

I love Misa's hair color too, and was really disappointed that I couldn't get the same color on Calia. That strawberry blonde color on Calia is the reddest they will let your character's hair get for Imperials, not sure why. I guess they think only Nords can be wild redheads, lol.

That Imperial race has its own set of voices too; different choices than the Nord female voices had. The Altmer voice choices were the best, imho. Very pleasant sounding voice.

Calia's knee pads must be part of the boot is all I can figure, lol. That looks odd, but I didn't want her going barefoot into battle against the Daedra, so left her in her boots despite the floating knee pads, laugh.gif

@ Grits - that place was gorgeous, you are delving into the depths of a coral reef; that coral glows and lights the passages through the ground to the core where all the channels meet (and you meet the big boss enemy); it felt both magical and mystical in that cave, really awesome!

*

I appreciate your (ya'll's) kind words a lot!

Misa just turned level 30 now, she has really developed nicely in her combat skills!

I started a new toon last night - the twin of Calia, also a Nightblade like Calia is; but this one lives in Daggerfall with Bubba. I needed the inventory slots badly, lol.

That makes 7 characters, and I can't imagine throwing a single one of them away, so no matter how tight my inventory gets I refuse to use up my 8th character until I'm absolutely positive that is what I am wanting to do, lol.

Yes, they do. I spent a long time creating her in tweaking the length of her legs, hips, butt, etc. (till they looked as perfect as I could get them, lol). She is a pleasure to watch as I'm playing, and I have to like what I'm seeing to enjoy a game, lol.

She also has the best voice files of any of my characters, she sounds cute in combat, in urging her horse on, etc. (and you know how picky I am over the voice files, laugh.gif )

Thank you both so much for your comments, I appreciate them! These screens are all older, I have taken some new ones but have to transfer them from the PC to the laptop to upload them, and haven't gotten around to it yet.

Thank you so much, Lopov!

Sleeping Misa - yes, the Ebonheart Pact covers Morrowind and Vvardenfell area, and the Black Marsh, and parts of Skyrim. They did an excellent job of keeping the look and feel of the regions in ESO, it really FEELS like Morrowind there; and there is a strong dedication and worship of the Tribunal.

Misa has met, done several favors for, and fallen in love with Almalexia, she is Awesome! So far she has done one favor for Vivec, but has not met him. I can't wait for that! She also did one favor for Sotha Sil.

How Oblivion realms look in ESO:

http://imgur.com/a/PE1Cn

You genuinely have to leap from one formed magma island to another; it is not easy to navigate in this realm at all!

Acadian, I know you like flame atronachs: not sure if you can see in the first screen - in the background that is a flame atronach - they are very cute in this realm; they dance! They are very fluid, kind of do fluid flips in the air like a real flame might. (but they are still deadly in combat, lol).

Halfway through on the ground - the dead man is the ancestor of Count Indoril from Cheydinhal. Indoril befriended Misa early in the game, and she helped him several times - they were very close friends at the time of his death, it was a very sad moment in the game.

The last three are a Forge in the center of the realm that makes very unique armor and weapons. (Misa has a set of them!)

It was amazing, and SO felt like a Daedric realm to me. It was scary! And very hard to get around. The major battle was with a being the size of Mehrune's Dagon in Oblivion, I wish I'd gotten screenshots of the battle, but was too busy fighting for my life, lol. I didn't think so, but can't remember exactly. I thought it was just curling in that screen, but looking up close it really does look spiked! They do whip their tails around to do some serious damage, they charge and do devastating damage, and their bite is really bad too. I normally don't have time to check their tails out, but I will look next time, I'm sorry I didn't know the answer.

Yes, it is! For me that whole "Brothers of Strife" questline was one of the most amazing/interesting/fun/etc; I loved every bit of it!

I explored before the battle; hopped across all those islands and checked out the whole shoreline around there - there was nothing to find, but I did consider jumping at the place where the lava makes a waterfall out of there and down Ash Mountain (just to see what would happen) - didn't do it, though; lol.

I died a few times in that battle, but was able to resurrect at the entrance and run back into the battle. I felt awful losing Indoril, and tried redoing the whole battle; but found out Indoril dies regardless how it is played. That was sad, Hogunn was crying!

That armor is not the one from the earth forge, I'll have to get a screenshot of Misa's earth forge armor once I get it dyed the way I want it. The Fighters Guild rewards are Awesome if you finish the questline! I think the most powerful weapons and armor in the game come through them!

For the sake of seeing Sadal; this is not my screenshot, I got it off the internet. Sadal is the huge flame-y beast; the man in the green kilt is Indoril before he dies; the Argonian in this screen is the Player. This was one huge battle, it took me over 3-5 minutes to beat him:

I loved that questline! (died quite a few times trying to close those portals, lol). Great shots!! What level are you now? Are you doing this quest as a veteran? (and if so, Holy Cow!).

Auridon is gorgeous, isn't it?

Posted by: hazmick Oct 1 2015, 08:47 PM

Veteran level 5 now, whilst the area is Vet level 6. Levelling up takes far too long these days so it won't be long before Haa Rei hits a wall and I get bored. It'll be impossible to just grind all the way up to the level cap, and I don't think there's enough story content left to provide that much xp tongue.gif

We love Auridon! It's so colourful and fresh. After we head back to Khenarthi's Roost for a little while, we'll go to Valenwood to see what that's like.

Lavender, foxglove, and daisy puff balls. What is not to like?

Ahh, that second pic is the not to like part! There goes the neighborhood.

The palace has a mini-Clannfear. Is that a Clannangst? wink.gif

Have you done Cadwell's silver and gold questlines? I went to Cyrodiil and went from (non-veteran) level 38 to 41 in only a few dungeon crawls and all the quests for Bruma, lol.

It is the most exciting thing in the world to be able to see Bruma; Cheydinhal; Fort Farragut; etc - or clear Cracked Wood Cave; Capstone Cave; and Vahtacen; etc. in this game - all the familiar places from Oblivion! I can't get enough of it, I want to see every city, every dungeon, lol.

Doing Cadwell's gold at the moment. Oh! I totally forgot about quests in Cyrodiil! I'll head there after I'm done with the dominion. Enjoying this alliance's questline so far though.

The quests in Cyrodiil are a blast! I have to hide when I see any AD or DC; kind of adds more excitement to doing the quest, lol. I sneaked into the middle of DC territory and got 3 skyshards, lol.

Well we've finally made it to Valenwood, and Haa Rei is feeling right at home in the http://i.imgur.com/HiUsWVu.png of Grahtwood.

When people say that Bosmer like trees, it doesn't quite prepare you for it. From their http://i.imgur.com/jRIRZPd.png, to their http://i.imgur.com/cgKkIWd.png, all the way up to their http://i.imgur.com/Bcx7kUy.png.

Initially I was a bit concerned that the grand Aldmeri Dominion made the tree city of Elden Root their capital. Then I actually saw http://i.imgur.com/XlOHCha.png. Haa Rei had to take a few moments to catch his breath when he saw it.

Finally, after many long months of adventuring, Haa Rei has also found http://i.imgur.com/C61dA3Q.png he really feels a connection with. If only everyone in the Thalmor thought like that, the world would be a better place.

Oh no, not another swampy area! I hate the swampy areas!

Holy Cow, that tree was HUGE!!!! But that Plaza was gorgeous! I have two characters in the Aldmeri Dominion, and neither have made it to Elden Root - or even to Grahtwood, for that matter! laugh.gif

Great shots, Hazmick!

Very neat shots. I like swamps! laugh.gif And I love trees. It is good to see Valenwood done with such arboreal grandness.

Had a busy day in Greenshade today. First, Haa Rei played dress-up to test out his http://i.imgur.com/JFK88Ox.png and http://i.imgur.com/cesOUIE.png costumes. We think that the Daedra wear them better though.

Then we went for an adventure, and made a discovery of http://i.imgur.com/Cz9BBHI.png proportions.

Finally, we finished our day with a trip to the crown store, and used some left over crown points to buy a new pet. Introducing http://i.imgur.com/MW1ymIV.png, arguably the cutest member of Team Haa Rei.

Woot! What a treat to come back to a pictorial of the Bosmeri homeland! IPB Image

I love the trees and mist there - it looks so. . . wood elfy. biggrin.gif Also love the critters - Senche Tiger, Spriggan and that adorable little lizerd.

Gosh, Buffy is quite envious of Haa Rei right now! tongue.gif

Posted by: Grits Oct 9 2015, 01:07 AM

A tea house! That would be awesome.

These Valenwood pictures are my favorite yet. The senche and spriggan look amazing! I saw some wild tigers with Lil but she sneaked on by because we thought they would eat her. laugh.gif

That Ayleid structure looks properly overgrown and mossy. I’m another fan of the swampy areas. I love the ones in High Rock.

Haa Rei looks great in his new daedric outfits. smile.gif

Congrats on Haa Rei’s new lizard friend! Wow, he’s so cute, I love him! (Or her?) wub.gif

Posted by: SubRosa Oct 9 2015, 02:12 AM

More fun pics. I am loving the look of Valenwood.

The Wood Orcs have a male shaman? That is interesting. In Skyrim, all the shamans are female.

Haa-Rei looks exactly like a Golden Saint! wink.gif laugh.gif I think I liked how the GS and DS outfits looked in Oblivion better though.

A monitor lizard!

The armor looks great! Oh, that lizard is so cute! This is my first sighting of one, I haven't seen one in the game yet.

Great shots!

Acadian - I'm glad you and Buffy like the shots! She'd absolutely love it here, provided she didn't eat any plants. The Bosmer are really into their Green Pact.

Grits - I know what you mean about those High Rock swamps. The best part of that whole Daggerfall Covenant if you ask me biggrin.gif Oh and we think the lizard is a she (the default name was 'Princess') and she makes the cutest growl-y lizard noise in the entire world. laugh.gif

'Rosa - It seems the Wood Orcs partially follow the Wood Elf way of doing things, with a male spiritual leader. The Bosmer have male Spinners (like shaman/storytellers) and the Silvenar (spirit of the Bosmer) is also a man. Their non-spiritual leaders are female, such as their Treethanes and The Green Lady (Silvenar's wife). Wood Orc chief is still a man though, so the Wood Orcs seem to be really patriarchal.

As for the costumes, they look much better on other people. Haa Rei is far too skinny for heavy armour, and helmets just aren't made with Argonians in mind tongue.gif

mALX - The lizard is a brand new addition to the crown store. They added some nice new outfits too!

Here's http://i.imgur.com/npF4WbJ.png. Haa Rei likes this one a lot more. I just love the Legion look too.

Is it a trick of the camera, hazmick, or is the mammoth in ESO smaller than the ones in Skyrim?

I setscale'd my Bosmer hunter to 0.92 so she is pretty small next to the giants and the mammoths. I love the feel of her being dwarfed (pun intended) by so much in this northern province.

That may be a trick of Haa Rei being closer to the camera and the mammoth being a distance from it. They are quite large, and the giants usually found with them are actually larger in ESO than the ones in Skyrim. However, in ESO the mammoth are not tame/friendly to the player unless you are rescuing them and become their and the giant's friend. (so best to avoid them if/when possible).

Yep yep. Haa Rei is just standing at a distance, for health and safety reasons. tongue.gif Mammoths are quite tough, so we avoid them whenever possible. I should be able to find a friendly one somewhere though. I'll have a look.

Davon's Watch Drunk Nords:

*In the first screen, the skeletons were giving Misa a candle tribute for her Lute playing (using a fireball).

In the second screen, one of the skeletons accidentally let loose the fireball on the other skeleton, setting him on fire:

Davon's Watch Drunk Mages:

*Unfortunately, the Mages in Davon's Watch used Destruction magic for their displays, I can't find all the better screens of it, but suffice it to say - the Guards were called in to break it up and a fight ensued.

So far, Davon's Watch is my favorite place to be on a Loredas night; there is always something wild and crazy going on there every weekend, laugh.gif

Posted by: Acadian Oct 12 2015, 02:11 PM

Wow, mALX! Those ESO'ers really know how to party! And I love how their horses are welcome to join in the fun, along with what look to be some pets and summons. Ah, I see now how I was seeing an Orc in that one screen! When it comes in an email notice, you can only see the link and not the enclosed words, lol. I couldn't figure out how/where Haa Rei was in that screen, laugh.gif

Is that the quest where you go into the past or is that an actual disguise you can don at will?

Great shots!!!

Posted by: mALX Oct 16 2015, 10:13 AM

@ Acadian - It was the one thing I never expected to find in an online game; is the fun of watching how other people roleplay! I never would have thought of half the stuff they do; it really is amazing how creative people are!

Davon's Watch always has something really entertaining going on. Mournhold's weekend parties = way too wild for me, laugh.gif Thank you, Acadian!

@ SubRosa - When they first raised their bony hands up with the little flames and were swaying to the music; I was in hysterics. Then one of them was turning in the dance and his flame let loose onto the other and caught him on fire, I was rolling on the floor laughing. I get such a kick out of what people think up to do in this game, it is so spontaneous and creative - really entertaining!

Thank you, SubRosa!

@ Ghastley - I could be wrong and it be a missing texture, but I think that is her gauntlets, it looks kind of like the same color as her cuirass, but truthfully I didn't notice it in game (but I had my eyes on the horses gathering on the clotheslines and having rearing contests). Next thing I knew everyone in town was summoning their horses and rearing, then the framerates started choking up the screen so I had to leave Mournhold quickly, lol.

Thank you, Ghastley!

@ Hazmick - I think I'm about to find out, Misa is at level 49 now, I think. Thanks Hazmick!

Great party pictures, mALX! Davon’s Watch is always fun to see on the weekends. Jerric is also a fan of Mournhold mayhem, but Darnand who is in Daggerfall city does not want any part of that madness!

hazmick, those big cats are gorgeous! I love the picture of Haa Rei looking for something to read. smile.gif

Posted by: SubRosa Oct 20 2015, 07:08 PM

Wow, those big cats are big! Nice kitty...

You can disguise yourself as another race? That is neat. Is it something special that can only be done as part of a quest?

Silvenar looks really neat. Valenwood looks really cool in ESO.

Posted by: hazmick Oct 20 2015, 07:30 PM

@Acadain - It's nice that Argonians are so popular I suppose. I just wish it was a different kind of popular biggrin.gif

@Grits - They all had fun names too! I think Haa Rei has a new favourite crafting area.

@SubRosa - That's Valenwood for you, everything is big except the Bosmer. tongue.gif The Orc disguise was indeed quest specific. Had to sneak through a Wood Orc Stronghold and those folks are none too friendly.

Posted by: hazmick Oct 22 2015, 12:27 AM

Today Haa Rei and I moved away from the http://i.imgur.com/3QhhvfC.png parts of Valenwood and arrived in http://i.imgur.com/5HpwTBA.png - an area which is half Valenwood, half Elsweyr, and bordered by Cyrodiil to the north.

This proximity to Cyrodiil means that there's a whole guar-load of http://i.imgur.com/RX56Fc1.png dotted all over the place, which is one of Haa Rei's favourite types of architecture! This in turn means that there are a few Colovians causing trouble too, and in one quest to get rid of them our adventurous Argonian got to briefly don the guise of a real life http://i.imgur.com/DxKHyLO.png.

We also unlocked the outfit of everyone's favourite necromantic nuisance, http://i.imgur.com/TWUUccd.png

Finally - we found an interesting book, http://i.imgur.com/HP8ZlUW.png. Albeit a very short book.

Love the variety in both terrain and architecture that Haa-Rei is encountering. The ability to so fully adopt disguises must come in very much handy at times! Thanks for showing us that little book on the lizard folk. Finally, a commitment that they really are cold blooded and some neat insight regarding how they make that work even in cold climes. Neat! biggrin.gif

That is a neat statue of Hircine. He is really speared up!

Don't Fear The Reaper's march. Cool bridge, and pointy roofed houses. The art design of ESO is really interesting.

Haa-Rei has a soul patch!

Cold-Blooded Argonians then? That would give them one big advantage, in that they would need to eat far less than other races. Most of the energy that warm-blooded animals gain from food is spent in maintaining their body temperature. Because cold-blooded animals don't burn up so many calories that way, they can go for much longer periods without eating. It is one of the things that makes them ideally suited to barren places like deserts.

Great party pictures, mALX! Davon’s Watch is always fun to see on the weekends. Jerric is also a fan of Mournhold mayhem, but Darnand who is in Daggerfall city does not want any part of that madness!

Mournhold was a little TOO wild for Misa, she hurried back to Davon's Watch, laugh.gif

Daggerfall never seems to get as wild as the others, I mean other than the mages showing off their light shows; which is kind of beautiful and peaceful. (and nice if you happen to need healing, lol).

It is kind of like a fireworks display, everyone just kind of gathers around and watches, sits down to watch, etc.

What a great update this is! I can't wait to see some of these (new to me) regions!

I love the disguises/morphs, they are so much fun! There is a whole guild of players that only wear their goblin morphs, lol.

How do you get the rewards (like Mannimarco's attire) for reaching veteran level 10? Does it come in your mailbox?

And thank you for showing the books! That is Awesome! Oh, showing books - does this mean you have completed the Mages Guild? Able to read all those lore books now?

These are some Awesome shots !!! It is so fun to see where I might be one day !!!

Misa has reached veteran level 1, and has not done Eastmarch or the Rift yet. She needs to get back to Skyrim and do those regions before she gets any higher level.

@mALX - looks like that Daedra joined the party too. laugh.gif Loredas' nights in Daggerfall seem very interesting.

@hazmick - the Hircine's statue looks really ominous. Haa Rei looks great in Mannimarco's outfit.

Thanks, Lopov!

Just wanted to show the two nice armor sets that were given to me by friends I met playing online (and one I made for myself shown first):

I made this armor (being modeled by Caria the Altmer). It is the Wood Elf styled Death Wind armor set. Death Wind is one of the easiest armor sets to make in the game:

The below link gives an idea of the benefits of wearing Death Wind armor.

** For all these armor sets = my armor was made for a character of a much lower level, so the bonuses are in lower amounts on my sets.

This next armor was made as a gift for me (and Misa) by a girl from Australia that I play with a lot; she is Awesome! Sometimes when we are done playing we just talk on TeamSpeak as if we were on the telephone talking, lol.

In the screen Misa is in that pretty area below Weynon Priory in Cyrodiil.

This armor is actually a combination of three sets to give my character the most protection and bonuses (and because some of the Night Mother armor was really buggly; like the night mother helm looked like a mask of her face in Skyrim; and the pauldrons looked like skulls on your shoulders, etc. Misa preferred to change out those pieces for a nicer look), laugh.gif

Here is a description of the three sets:

Night Mother's Gaze (which has better stats on the bonuses than is showing here, not sure why they are so low in this example):

Whitestrake:

And the Viper's Sting set, which is only found in loot or on dead NPC's when you kill one that has them:

***************************

This next armor was another gift, made for me by a guy from a Guild I joined; without saying a word he just sent it as a surprise gift!

That armor is a combination of the Night Mother (seen above) and the Twice-Born Star; here is a description of that armor's bonuses:

Death Wind? Is that armor made during a Chili cook-off? wink.gif

How neat that Weynon Priory is in ESO. I don't know why, I mean obviously the Imperial City, Whiterun, and so forth are in it. But it is nice to see the old places in a new game.

+ pretty white horse! smile.gif

Misa's black and gold armor does look pretty neat.

Bold: rollinglaugh.gif

I've become hooked on Cyrodiil in this game, lol. I have actually stayed overnight at the Weynon Priory; at the Oak and Crosier Inn in Chorrol; at an NPC's home in Cheydinhall, Bruma, etc.

And since this takes place in the 1st Era; Fort Black Boot and all those other forts are there, but thriving forts instead of abandoned and taken over by bandits/necromancers/critters. And you can't fight your way through these forts without an army, laugh.gif

* That armor is Ebony armor, and it is my favorite of all; not just because it was such a nice gift. It is beautiful.

MALX, what nice new armors! I think maybe I like the middle one best (black and gold). . . or maybe because it is as SubRosa points out - The White Horse Factor! biggrin.gif

I'm glad that, with some PvP precautions, you are able to spend time and have some fun in the dangerous province of Cyrodiil.

Posted by: hazmick Oct 23 2015, 11:03 PM

@mALX - Yep, level rewards like the outfit get dropped in you mailbox. Also, yes we've finished the Mages Guild. Really handy when you just want to sit down and read a good book laugh.gif

Haa Rei has finished his business in http://i.imgur.com/V6Mbngm.png, which means he's done with the Dominion and has finished http://i.imgur.com/ckoOz4o.png grand quest to experience all three alliances.

How did Haa Rei spend his last day, I hear you ask? Well, we saw some more http://i.imgur.com/1wKaaQG.png, saw a http://i.imgur.com/6NCzwrw.png, met a http://i.imgur.com/hks8BBP.png, explored a wonderful http://i.imgur.com/7vN4bdZ.png, and visited the http://i.imgur.com/dT8VrHN.png of an ancient Khajiit god. All in a day's work.

We'll be off to Cyrodiil next. mALX's screenies have us excited for a spot of sightseeing.

What a nice collection of shots from the Reaper's March area, hazmick!

Oh noes! Barbas made it to ESO! ohmy.gif

laugh.gif

Looking forward to Haa-Rei's impressions of Cyrodiil.

Posted by: SubRosa Oct 24 2015, 01:03 AM

Cadwell has some interesting headgear! biggrin.gif

That is a neat falcon!

I see Barabbas made it to ESO as well. And he looks just like he did in Skyrim. It is nice that the makers of ESO maintained continuity with the other games like that.
