Indira looks great! It is quite the leap from Oblivion's potato faces, and the blocky faces of Skyrim.

Gas giants certainly make for great backdrops on the horizon!

Phew. I feel called to this game. 🌍 Weird. I didn't get this feeling with Fallout 4 or any of the 'last generation' games like Kingdom Come: Deliverance, as much as I enjoyed seeing screenies from those games.

How much is the latest Xbox? The Series X, I guess? $499 at Wal-Mart? Oh hell YES. I am getting this game. Hmm, but is that new, or used? ... Seems that's the New price. Wow. But... I'd rather give my money to Micro Center, honestly. I love the whole Micro Center experience; it's always sort of fun going there.

Sorry, thinking out loud, here. I am getting this game, for sure I am. But I want to finish Mass Effect first, all three MEs. I have a habit of starting things and not finishing them. But I am getting Starfield. I'll say some time in 2024, maybe by spring of 2024. Heh.

Thanks! My goal was a small ship with only one landing thruster. Took a bit to design and I had to settle on two engines instead of one. Starship design skill wasn't high enough to utilize a single engine.

What are those flying creatures in the Biome pic?

That ice moon pic with the Saturn-looking planet, wow. I would be both freaked out and awed at the same time! Freaked because it's sort of like my fear of heights: Seeing the horizon in such a "final" kind of way makes it seem like one could just fall off.

Are there any planets or moons with near-zero gravity? So you can bounce around and stuff? 🪐

You still haven't posted a pic of your character! But yaa, love the space ship.

One of the creatures was a large pterodactyl like creature, the round ones are like floating jellyfish - they are kinda funny to see bob around.


The views like that moons are wild and it's hard to believe it's all to scale!


Gravity varies from place to place, they did a good job with it. A moon like that one is probably less than .3gs. Tons of fun to jump and boost pack around!

Hey that first pic is frickin’ great! This game really lends itself well to capturing beautiful spacescapes. The other day when Dez was trying to find the coralline landmass in Indum, I noticed a white speck on the horizon of the moon she was on and just watched as the “sun” rose on that desolate little rock ball. I snapped a pic of it after it was well clear of the horizon. Made me think back to what The Todd said about little moments like that being a big part of the experience for this game.

Hmm, let me look at the spaceship! Value is just over 200,000. So they're not using dollars, or Yen or any Earth-based monetary coins, right? What year is this supposed to be? Doesn't look like inflation has affected outer space. Most houses nowadays, if they cost $200,000, they are actually cheap.

Fuel. What happens if you run out of fuel in the middle of nowhere?

Hull, I'm assuming that's like armor.

$200k for the sell value, but I put almost double that into building it. Currency is generic "credits" that are standard across the systems.

Ships don't actually burn fuel - the amount you have determines grav jump range.

Hull is sort of like armor. The more hull you have, the tankier your ship is.

Yep, and you can make some crazy cargo liners if you are a pack rat. I could have added more, but then I'd lose mobility.

It is indeed the ship name! Seemed fitting.

They use generic sci-fi “credits” as the monetary unit in Starfield.

As far as I can tell, you can’t actually run out of fuel, your ship simply won’t jump to a system if it would take more fuel than your ship can store. Kane, please correct me if I’m wrong.

Your ship has two layers of “health”, shields and the hull. Probably doesn’t need explanation, but weapons fire effects shields first, then after they are down, it will start damaging the hull. Different ship pieces add to your hull’s strength, but you can buy better shield units to increase them. Kinda weird, but you can use an aid item called “ship parts” to repair your hull mid combat. Not sure how that works lore wise, but it’s useful for surviving space battles.

Yes, ships have varying cargo hold sizes and they determine how much junk you can store in your ship. You *can* drop items on the ship’s floor, but that’s messy, lol.
Another fun note about cargo.Whenever you arrive at a “civilized” planet controlled by one of the big governments, the local authorities will scan your ship for contraband items, which will get you a bounty if you have any in your possession at the time of a scan.You can buy “shielded” cargo holds that help to hide any contraband items you may be carrying from these scans. Otherwise, you will have to get to a location with no such security protocols to offload any contraband.
