Okay, i stand corrected. Now I am reading more on reddit, and I see they don't simply sell your email ans phone number. They have a client like Steam's that installs on your computer, and adds a ton of spyware. That and they have really bad security, making them vulnerable to data breaches. Plus, China...

So there is always torrenting. Not that I would ever advocate anything illegal of course.

You also can't play their games offline, period. And their support is terrible/non-existent.

I was a little interested in the game but not terribly so. Can't say I've had any personal experience with the Epic Games Store, but given everything that has been said about them I'm not going anywhere near there. Oh well.

There is something I find pretty funny from this, though. Anytime fanboyism over a gaming company gets a reality check like the rabid trolls who think Obsidian is the Second Coming, I can't help but enjoy it. I have nothing against Obsidian themselves, although this is a pretty sucky move by them.

But hey, at least they aren't like that one company (don't remember the name) that promised the game would come to Steam (and GOG?), but then way later decided to only make it exclusive to Epic and then mess up the process for getting a refund (wasn't it that a third-party is handling it now?). At least Obsidian did this way in advance.

Khajiit believes that other game you mentioned was the new Metro title. As far as the Epic Store business, Obsidian may not have had any say in that, as the games publisher had an exclusivity deal with the Epic Games Store.

That's what I was reading, too. Apparently the Obsidian devs were in the process pf putting achievements on Steam, when the news broke.
Talk about a blindside.
