what is your charactor wearing?
mine has all orcish armor exept helmet, dwarven helmet, and is holding his staff valiently in the air

Posted by: Intestinal Chaos Aug 24 2006, 02:16 AM

Man.. I beat the game several times.. and I never once knew I had a statue..

I just feel stupid now..

Posted by: The Metal Mallet Aug 24 2006, 04:07 AM

The funny thing with my was that he was wearing the Grey Fox's Cowl, which I had only worn like twice. I was always using the Listener's Hood. Other than that they had everything correct. My blacksmith apron, glass gauntlets, and the Blade of Woe held in the air. Though I could see the Ebony Blade being held too, I used those two about equally.

Posted by: Abu the Cat Aug 25 2006, 01:45 AM

I think I was wearing... oh, yeah, my enchanted Steel Cuirass called the Steeled Aegis, steel boots, gauntlets, and greaves, and a Blades Shield. I weild an echanted Akaviri katana that I can't remember the name of. But, the statue that was intended was all the Blades' Akaviri stuff, and an enchanted Akaviri Katana that I can't remember the name of. All on a (OMG!) BOSMER! Ha ha ha, I'll never be a Wood Elf again!

I never knew that one existed, I guess I'll just have to finish the game to find out........ indifferent.gif

Posted by: Soulseeker3.0 Aug 27 2006, 09:02 PM

a statue? hrmm.... looks like I didn't quite finish..

Posted by: Fargoth Aug 31 2006, 09:20 AM

Where exactly is your statue in Bruma?

Posted by: The Metal Mallet Aug 31 2006, 04:50 PM

It's in between the Bruma castle and the North Gate, actually I believe it's really close to the the North Gate. If I remember correctly, it's kinda behind another statue. It's right against the city walls.

Posted by: Fargoth Sep 1 2006, 03:11 PM

Ohhhh, I didn't realyze that was my statue! laugh.gif laugh.gif
It's with blade armor without a helm. i have no helm there. and i'm holding dremora clyamore in the air!
Looks cool cool.gif

Posted by: Ibis Sep 1 2006, 06:30 PM

My video card barely allows me to move ingame, but Cain's stature is magnificent and looks just like him. Very handsome & proudly holding up his DragonsMaw Bow. biggrin.gif

Posted by: TheImperialDragon Sep 4 2006, 07:54 PM

My statue looks great! biggrin.gif The only problem is that the staff is floating in mid-air. tongue.gif

Posted by: Soulseeker3.0 Sep 4 2006, 10:25 PM

Do you just find it or do you have to chat with some guy to get it there?

Posted by: The Metal Mallet Sep 5 2006, 12:33 AM

It's just there, I think it probably appears either after you beat the MQ, or shortly after you close the great oblivion gate in Bruma. Since the statue says it conmemorates that event.

Posted by: TheImperialDragon Sep 5 2006, 01:24 AM

You have to close the
SPOILER!

Great Gate

during the main quest.

Posted by: Soulseeker3.0 Sep 6 2006, 01:44 AM

cool thanks, I forget waht i was wearing, i'll have to go check

Posted by: Ibis Sep 6 2006, 09:54 PM

I could be wrong, but I think it sometimes shows what you mostly wore before the main quest, rather than the exact outfit you had on finishing the MQ. Or that might be an anomoly that just happens sometimes. So, dress fashionably for the ending ...

Posted by: 1234king Sep 7 2006, 03:42 AM

Whoa, you get a statue......that's pretty damn sweet!

Posted by: Rane Sep 7 2006, 05:14 PM

Wonder why I haven't moved this earlier...

I didn't know about it either until I read about it. When I did find the statue I found it to have items that I had never equipped in the first place. Go figure.

Posted by: deemu Oct 3 2006, 05:00 PM

mine was wearing the imperial dragon armor that I got

Posted by: The Vulture Oct 3 2006, 06:05 PM

Brusef Amelion's gear, it looked awesome on the statue

Posted by: Silmarillion=?? Dec 21 2006, 08:24 AM

I had a full Deadric armor on me and i had the Shield you get from Chayden hall, and a nice short deadric blade biggrin.gif loocks realy cool tongue.gif

Posted by: Doc_Hux Dec 27 2006, 11:07 AM

My original Imperial Battlemage looked very impressive, except for one thing.

My Glass Greaves became damaged at some point inside the Gate, and I had so many Daedra hearts in my inventory that I became overencumbered. I decided to drop something, so I dropped my Greaves and completed the mission.

And so my statue was of a brave looking Imperial Battlemage decked in full Glass armour wielding a Daedric Shortsword...and no pants. Just bare legs. indifferent.gif

I told this story once as Pilaf, a long time ago on the official forums. I think it was a little bit popular then.

Posted by: DavidBeck Feb 8 2007, 04:39 PM

If you guys aren't pleased with how your statue looks, download the "Update my Statue" mod.

It allows you to change what the statue is wearing, it's texture, and it's size.

(It's actually pretty cool when you make your statue so huge it towers above the entire city!)

Of course this is only for Oblivion PC...

I have both 360 and PC versions, 360 for visual quality, PC for mods!

Posted by: Silmarillion=?? Jul 12 2007, 07:47 AM

E hehe my statue is goe for some resen, only thing left is the thing it was standing on.Do you know the nett site for this mod? tongue.gif

Posted by: Soulseeker3.0 Jul 12 2007, 05:33 PM

Mine turned out pretty well imo. It has glass armor and what i believe is to be the goldbrand. It's a one handed blade anyhow biggrin.gif it looks cool.

Posted by: Ramirez Aug 8 2007, 10:08 PM

Being pushed for time to finish the final mission and get out of Oblivion, I took off all my armour and ran as fast as I could. The statue is less than flattering.

Lol, fear me, I have the legendary Torch Of Searing Fire!!!! Cower before its bright glow and comforting warmth! wink.gif goodjob.gif Awesome statue, I never thought I'd see it.

Posted by: Gaius Maximus Aug 11 2007, 10:07 PM

Is that an Olympic Torch? ohmy.gif

Well, my statue looks pretty simply, actually - it reminds me Robin Hood. A hooded Dunmer, with a shirt, leather greaves and sandals, armed with a silver bow. I would've carried the Sting or Glamdring, but I wasn't sure if that wouldn't screw the game up, so I'd rather not risk.

Oh yeah, also a hood.

Posted by: Steve Oct 21 2007, 08:56 PM

I never knew about this statue. Where do you find it?

Posted by: the listener Jan 21 2008, 08:58 PM

my statue is awsome im wearin full galss armour with a enchanted dagger i got in a dark brotherhood quest bonus biggrin.gif

Posted by: Hypedupturtle Mar 8 2008, 08:38 PM

My main characters statue was wearing Arch Mages Robes and had Goldbrand and was wearing a Blades Helm. He looked cool, but the helm just didn't go with the robes.

Posted by: Sphinx Apr 13 2008, 11:00 AM

My GOOD character was from Chorrol
He is a redguard Arch-mage, Divine crusader & head of the fighters guild .
So he wore Chorrol curaiss, sheild & boots, blades gauntlets & greaves .
his choice of weapon was the Umbra sword
Unfortunately he was wearing the knights of the nine helmet , so is face cant be seen which was a shame.

I guess i can rectify that with the EVIL character a redguard from Skingrad who is the listener for the dark brotherhood, and ruler of Shivering isles who has no time for the empire and will kill his own mother if he can profit from it.
But whether he cares about fame thats another idea.

The Sphinx

Posted by: Oreyn Bearclaw May 28 2008, 04:27 PM

My last Char wore the full glass armor except on his head where he had the red silk robe hood, and he carried a daedric shortsword.

several of the items were greatly buffed but offcourse the statue didn't say "the hero's items were greatly buffed"

my charaacter was kind of dissapointed ower the fact they could forget that part sad.gif

another char that looked stupid was wearing the curiass of saviours hide and a glass dagge, he wore the gray cowl of nocturnal and somehow i don't really see why the guards didn't just arret the hero of kvatch, and Bruma immediatly when they found out he lead the thieves guild :S

Posted by: tekken19 Jul 24 2008, 11:10 AM

Mine was wearing blades armor and a silver longsword. sounds kinda boring but it looked quite cool if i may say so myself huh.gif laugh.gif

Posted by: tekken19 Jul 24 2008, 11:12 AM

and i had one character hwo was wearing mod clothes/armor. when i deleted that mod the statue didn't change at all laugh.gif lol

You can't have. You get the armor 2 weeks after finishing the game. The statue is created depending on what was wearing when you came out of the gate (atleast I think so)

Posted by: johann25 Aug 3 2008, 07:07 AM

well...my statue looks like a guy wearing with the Blades Armor and holding a battle axe. The weird fact is,i never use blunt or heavy weapons. I preffer the Ninja-ish type.

Posted by: gothdayks3 Aug 19 2008, 08:37 PM

i was wearing full ebny armor with umbra sword and a blades shield

Posted by: Daedroth Aug 20 2008, 09:29 PM

My statue is ugly. I was wearing the heavy rainment of valor and the blades helmet and a staff. It could be the staff hoarfrost or some staff I found in the gate. I'll post a picture when I'm not to lazy. I play the 360 version you know and I have to hook up a capture card to take a screenshot.

By the way, my statue is all gray. Not like Ramirez's, why?

Posted by: Illydoor Mar 22 2009, 07:50 PM

My guy had full daedric armour on, but instead of the cool-looking sword and shield that I had in my inventory, he showed up holding a staff in his hand. Despite this, I still thought it looked pretty cool.

But then one day when I travelled to Bruma, I decide to stop by and read the plaque again just for funsies, only to find that somehow his staff has moved down his arm and he now holds it with his elbow! He looks like a douche!

Wtf! ohmy.gif

Posted by: The Bean Mar 22 2009, 09:52 PM

With the Elbow I guess it's a glitch, but as for the statue you are shown what you like when you give Martin the Greater Stone.

Posted by: jack cloudy Apr 29 2009, 03:30 PM

I finally got one. And by the way, the battle for Bruma was a pain. I hate time limits!

Anyway, here's the list.

Bruma shield (Cause that's where we're fighting.
Kvatch cuirass (Savlian custom. I am the hero of Kvatch after all. Might as well show it prominently)
Blade greaves (We protect the Emperor!)
Imperial Watch gauntlets (even though they never showed up. But hey, it is politically important to make at least one reference to the Imperial city.)
Thornblade (For Cheydinhall)
Knights of the Thorn amulet (Cause it was the only way to shut Farwill up with his Huzzah)
random guard helmet (for all the other cities.)
Daedric boots (35 points of feather. Cause I love my loot)

My reasoning for this outfit was that since I'd pretty much brought soldiers from all over Cyrodiil to Bruma (and knew about the statue), I might as well make sure that the statue would serve as a symbol of this union between the cities. The downside is, it made me look like a total moron with no fashion sense.

Posted by: Illydoor Apr 29 2009, 04:09 PM

Hehe jack. Sacrificed style for unity. Now that's a real champion worthy of a statue wink.gif.

Wow, I did not either. Go figure. Now that I know the Grey Wizard has a statue devoted to him, it gives me reason to start up his otherwise dormant game. I wanna see this!

Posted by: McBadgere Feb 3 2013, 08:22 PM

I didn't realise at first that the statue "thing" takes the highest rated stuff you have in your inventory and assumes that's what yer wearing/using at the time...So that even if you only ever use the Ebony Longsword, if you have, say, an enchanted Blades katana on you, you shall be henceforth pictured with one of them on you...

My first character's statue, therefore, has a strange armour combination, topped with a Deadric helmet (the one with the life detect on it..The Inquisitor's Helmet or something?)...And that thorny sword that you get from Cheydinhal for saving the count's son...

Not, in fact the Ebony Broadsword and Dwarven Helmet that was what he was in all the time then...*Sigh*...

Posted by: Grits Feb 3 2013, 08:31 PM

Rowan’s looked just like her (biggrin.gif), so I never knew there could be statue disappointments until I read about them. She was carrying Northwind.

Now that I know you can manipulate the system I’m sure at least one character will start running round pantsless in the hope of getting a nekkid statue. tongue.gif

Posted by: Lady Saga Feb 3 2013, 08:42 PM

Ha ha that would be priceless! It's probably possible to make a naked statue, especially if the player does the entire MQ at the lowest difficulty, and therefore does not need to wear anything to survive.

I'm am still tripping on this statue thing. I really thought I did everything there is to do in the MQ, and that other than a few nonsense quotes from NPCs and some armor/weapons my wizard will never use, there is little to show that he's the Champion of Cyrodiil. I will take a picture of the statue when I get to it.

I have other characters that have statues, and those statues look fine. To say the least, the character that has the statue doesn't look great himself.

The thing that always irked me about the Bruma statue was that even if you understood the whole mechanism of what the game chose from your inventory, there would inevitably be a quest item in there that you didn't want on the statue, but couldn't drop.

I am, and I did, but the 'bug' is still annoying.

My only statue of Bruma was built in honor of Amadeus Anchev, my only CoC from 2007 and I don't exactly remember what did he wear at the time but I know it included Saviour's Hide, Mehrunes Razor and some unique helmet but I don't recall which. He wasn't impressed though.

I am thinking of starting up my Grey Wizard character's game, just to do a mini-quest where he travels to Bruma just to see this statue he's heard about but never seen. And of course I'll write it alll up in story form.

My decrepit avatar helped defeat the Crisis in the guise of Divine Crusader. That's how his statue depicts him, bow in hand. Only, I'm positive that when first erected it showed him wielding a sword. A vandal must have defaced it afterward. Whoever Bruma hired to repair the statue didn't do proper research.

Lothran the prankster; switching weapons on statues?

The picture for the statue is taken when you step out of the gate as it closes, and it takes whatever is best in your inventory rather than what you have on; so the last time I played that battle I stopped by my Bruma house and emptied my inventory except one dagger (probably the Blade of Woe). I mean I literally stripped down to nothing, since my game has no panties or bras; and the only thing in my inventory was a bunch of health potions and poisons for the blade.

I couldn't wait to see the statue, was really hoping it would come out naked - it didn't. The game placed some random peasant clothing on her for the statue; but truthfully, that was my favorite statue yet. She really looked like a hero of the people in regular clothing and carrying only a dagger.
