In trying to find a list of the ESO quests that offer Skill Points as a reward; I ran into several problems. What it boiled down to was that there are no lists broken down by Alliance - so I made one, and decided to share it on here.

For anyone who is starting a new character, this may also give an idea where they will find the most skill points for their new character to collect - and there is a difference in the Alliance skill points available.

Though it isn't a huge difference, it may be a deciding factor if you are choosing between starting a new character in one verses another.

This list will also come in handy if you have a character in need of some extra skill points to distribute - a great way to find some extra ones if you have all the skyshards in an area and may not have done one of these quests.

(Hint: if you are anything like me, you will need help from friends on the Undaunted quests)

I wonder how many quests are available once you reach the point where you travel into the other faction areas? I suppose the faction quests would be unavailable, but a lot of the local ones might be.

All the local quests are available at all times no matter which Alliance owns the territory at the time (and it changes because the civil war between Alliances is ongoing continuously).

You have to be aware of that at all times when doing any quests in Cyrodiil, even in your own territory; because the other Alliances may be in your owned areas trying to take them.

The only place the other Alliances can't enter is your home "Safe" zone where you first enter and train. You are safe in there, it is behind high walls that can't be penetrated by enemy factions.

In doing local quests in Cyrodiil - if the area is currently owned by an enemy Alliance - the guards will attack you, so you have to sneak by them or kill them to do your quests there. If your alliance owns the territory they won't be attacking you, but you still have to watch out for the enemy Alliances attacking you.

I got killed numerous times in Chorrol trying to do a quest there when at the time it was owned by Ebonheart - by one player who was a vampire and had some really powerful spell; plus could stay invisible for long periods of time - really would like to find out which spell he used to do that (but couldn't exactly ask him while he was killing me, lol).

EDIT: Ooops !!!

Oh, but if you weren't talking about in Cyrodiil = you are right, the faction quests are only available in your own area; just like the main questline is only available in your own area. But all local quests are available, and there are new questlines you can pursue in the other areas - Cadwell's Gold is the only one I know about; not sure if the Undaunted questline expands into other territories.

OK, so my character in the Ebonheart Pact could go to the Daggerfall faction areas (not Cyrodiil) and do the local quests there? Do you know if they are they scaled to your level or leveled to the area like they are when you’re in your own faction area? For example all of the quests where you help villagers find their livestock and rescue them from bandits and such.

Thanks! I'm trying to figure out if I should focus on one character or keep going with a bunch to see all of the provinces.

I think you have to be either veteran ranked or have completed the main questline to go into the other territories. (not talking about Cyrodiil this time, lol - sorry about that, I had misunderstood what you meant)

But when you do go, the other territory local quests are geared at your current level of that character, so even in the easier quests you will be facing higher level enemies.

OK, great! Thank you, mALX. Sorry I am too sleepy to make much sense today, lol. I think I’m going to give most of my ESO time to Ebonheart Templar Jerric and wait until he is the right level to see the other provinces rather than leveling three Jerrics in different factions at once. I wanted to make sure if I focused on one he would still get to meet all of the cute villagers. biggrin.gif Thank you!

Hazmick has actually seen all the provinces with one character and could tell you the ins and outs/pros and cons of it learned through actual experience.

I did the (3 of one character; one in each province) way instead; but when I stopped playing I was in the process of and going to take Misa all the way through to try it out - just haven't done it yet, but plan to try it one day (and she is my only veteran ranked character).

And - your explanation was very clear, it was my brain today - non functioning. Too much going on around while I was trying to read and respond, dogs/cats/husband panic.gif

Sorry about that.

mALX pretty much covered it. Once you complete the Ebonheart Pact questline and Main Quest, you will get the option to travel to the next alliance to experience their side of the story.

The new areas increase in level as you go further into the game, until around Veteran level 10 (which will probably be when you run out of story content).

All quests are available in all areas. You basically play through it as if you've started a new character in that alliance, for example you'll begin after being washed up in the sea and go on to help the Daggerfall Covenant, then do the same with the Aldmeri Dominion. NOTE: You won't have to re-do the Fighters Guild, Mages Guild or Main Quest missions.

You won't ACTUALLY be starting a new character though so don't worry. Your character will also still be whatever alliance they were created with at the beginning of the game, though that won't change any story stuff.

It's hard to explain, but you'll understand when you get there.

As mALX said, I've done it all with Haa-Rei. Aside from a brief levelling struggle (I was 2 levels lower than the areas I was in) there were no problems. Whether you do it all with one character or do separate alliances with separate characters is up to you, there's no major pros/cons either way.

I'm not sure if this all makes sense. I think it does.. tongue.gif

Long story short: One character can experience everything that ESO has to offer from a story point of view.

Oh my gosh, so you can do the quests to help the different Alliances too? That is great news. I have been struggling with Lildereth and Darnand doing any kind of political quests, but of course Sir Helps-A-Lot Jerric will dive cheerfully in. Especially for that young Elven queen. He is going to love her.

This is great news. I will continue with Templar Jerric and keep Lil and Darnand in their areas in case they want to wander a bit or help out with crafting.

Thank you both very much!

(Now if the PSN ever gets fixed I will be in business! laugh.gif)

When you are helping the other Alliances (for example, you are Ebonheart and helping the Aldmeri) - is there any different dialogue the NPC's use toward you in regards to your being one of the enemy faction? Because in some of those quests, your Alliance would be the ones attacking that city, etc.

Not that I can recall (I think you mention it to the Dominion Queen but I can't remember). For all appearances you ARE part of whatever alliance you're helping. There isn't even that much alliance v alliance stuff in the Dominion or Covenant quest lines, which surprised me.

I know with Ebonheart the Dominion was attacking in the early parts of the City questlines, but later on it was some other enemy that was gathering forces and strength and using necromancy for attacking the whole province; but it was a different one in each province; I think.

When I saw the necromancers in those sites that later in Skyrim become the birthing spots of the named dragons, I wondered about that tie in and if we would see dragons in ESO. I guess not, because I haven't heard anyone mention seeing dragons. It might just be a reference point and nod to Skyrim.

"One Tamriel" has made a difference in how easy it is to cross Alliance lines and gain skill points at will if we have run out of them in our own Alliance (like I have). Without even doing Cadwell's Silver and Gold, you can complete the skill point giving quests in each Alliance if you are running short on skill points (like I am).

Here is a list of every available skill point to gain and all quests. The starred quests give skill points:

Didnt see a thread regarding this question, so here goes: does one have to use ones skill points immediately upon advancing a level, or can one hold back, and use them after advancing a few levels? i.e. having 9 sk pts to use after moving up 3 levels...

thanx,
PS

You can hold them as long as you like; they will be there when you are ready to spend them.
