Exactly as the title says, tell me what your favorite Great House was in Morrowind. I played all the great houses at one time or another and loved them all, Beth did a really great job at making each of them unique. I've written a bit about why I liked each of them below and at the bottom, my favorite one of all.

The Hlaalu were interesting because they were willing to do whatever it took to get ahead, even if it meant playing dirty. Sly, witty, knifing, arrogant, and dishonorable, take your pick because the Hlaalu were all of the above and thats what made them fun to side with.

The Telvanni were old, eccentric, and powerful...not a good combination if you're their enemies...or sometimes even their allies...think Therana on that last bit. Their intelligence, strange cultures, mushroom houses, antisocialism, and love of the magic arts was what I liked most about them.

Ah, finally we get to the Redorans. The Redorans were the most noble and honorable of all the great houses. Their traditions, honor, and straightforwardness was what made them interesting for me to play. They always put honor first, even when it would've been more wise not to, there's the knights' dream right there.

In the end i found the Hlaalu to be the most interesting though, they were backstabbing, rich, snobby, power-hungry merchants willing to do anything to make a profit, even if it meant killing off members of the other great houses in order to do it. Their dishonorable ways made me feel like a complete scoundrel during some parts of it and I think thats what it was meant to do....I personally loved it.

Anyways please share your votes and the reason why the one you chose is your favorite.

Telivanni, they were the most humourous, and I loved their rules. Getting expelled as much as you like is just too good an offer to pass up.

Telvanni, is just as backstabbing as Hlaalu, Mr.Oven...and you forgot their extreme paranoia tongue.gif

No but seriously, Telvanni is one of the best places you can get with backstabbing...say a Master who have a house of his own, and then there is a candidate that could become master, and would in fact gget the current masters house and all....when that master have an unfortunate accident, the one who can become master will get it all.

Failing to wake up one morening due to a dagger or sword having been plunged into your heart/back/head, while you were asleep counts as an unfortunate accident by Telvanni.

So yeah,I love Telvanni, they get the coolest and biggest stronghold...sadly though it is the most remote you could get. And I like the whole ideal of Telvanni....you have knowledge, you get power, through power you get wisdom, through wisdom you get immortality....nice deal....and then they are mages...I just love mages on principle, and having played the other houses, I mustr say Telvanni is the coolest house...

As far as personal safety would go, Redoran. Everything else, Telvanni. Mushrooms rock and you can get to civilization through Divine Intervention which takes you practically to the front door of the Sadrith Mora mage guild. And yeah, if you like lots of Magicka, Telvanni is for you. If only they would put ladders in their mushrooms. laugh.gif

Yeah the Telvanni laws and practices were interesting I must agree. I'm kinda surprised that there were no votes for Redoran, they were a neat play as well.

I voted for the hlaalu. I like it, because it has missions that i like. Also i like the Cracius Curio.
He is a strange guy, for a leader of such big House... blink.gif But everything else is cool: the payment, missions, charackter feeling... smile.gif

I like the Redorans the best.

Them and what's left of Indoril are the Dunmer's best warriors, asnd noble/honorable folk. biggrin.gif

They didn't pay out much, but that's because Redoran is a militant house. You work hard, you have to be loyal because your morals/principle/whatever align with the Redoran cause, not because the Redoran cause lines your pockets. They were cool dudes.

Though, I hate that first mission. Blergh. Nemind needs like, lessons on how to give directions. Or how to mark compassion on my map. tongue.gif

well its a toss up between Hlaalu and Telvanni, Hlaalu was more of an assasin's group which worked perfect for my first character Florodine, hence my name, Florodine of Hlaalu, but since i created that sn i have also made Dalrus who was part of Telvanni. I like the house of the Telvanni better, but i like all the locations of the Hlaalu towns. This is so hard. I also liked the hlaalu missions better, and it was my first house.

However, in oblivion my main character is a mage, and telvanni are mages so im going with telvanni

For me - the Stronghold is one of the most important thing. I don't want to live in a mushroom or in the desert. So that's one of the reasons I like Hlaalu more. And I do like the missions too, even though some of them were a bit too easy. One thing I like with Redoran though is that you kill Bolvyn Venim on the Arena.

Hlaalu Scum! Just kidding, of course. Maybe... *Plots your assassination* What am I writing down here? A gray writ you say? Never! What do you mean it's signed for the Dark Brotherhood? What are you talking about? Lies!

Redoran. Believe it or not, I actually find the other two rather boring. A few of the individual characters are interesting, e.g. Crassius Curio and Divayth Fyr, but I honestly have very little interest in reading about selfish, amoral people being obnoxious to each other.

Telvanni. It's not just how they handle things. It's the fact that they handle things with a certain style. To them, it's not just the victory that matters. It's the degree of victory and dominance that helps. Of course, you actually have to win in the first place. They just realize that the best way to use power is the one most effective for maintaining that power.

House Telvanni: Awesome, but Practical.
