Jensa is officially off the market. Here is a picture of Jensa and Stenvar on their wedding day. He was in his default armor for the actual ceremony, but I’m not quick enough to get that picture and still operate the controller. Skyrim weddings resemble a foot race.

Stenvar is not terribly romantic. He says “dear” like he’s not quite sure what it means. But hey, he’s Stenvar! Also he got stuck beside a rock on the way from Riften to Windhelm. Luckily Jensa was walking along behind him (checking out that view for a change tongue.gif), so she saw what happened. Otherwise he would probably still be standing there, and she would be both heartbroken and homicidal. I will recommend to my future brides and grooms that they either walk along with their new spouse or take them as a follower right away.

I was about to ask if he took off just like the last one did. laugh.gif

Allek and Marcurio. At first I was skeptical. This is going to end with an Imperial mage in a pool of blood, I thought. So I asked Allek about it.

“I don’t have any reason to kill Marcurio,” said Allek, genuinely puzzled. Hmm. Not quite reassuring, but good enough.

Before the wedding Allek went to great lengths so that he could improve and enchant some gifts for Marcurio. He had never previously enchanted anything. It took some time for him to find suitably powerful bandit souls for the enchantments. He also took Iona off into the wilderness and murdered her, because Marcurio didn’t like the noise she made when she chewed. (They live at Honeyside.) Actually that may have been an excuse. We all found that annoying. Of course he didn’t tell Marcurio. He still thinks she’s visiting her mother.

On their wedding day Allek chose to wear festive Mythic Dawn robes. Marcurio must have found that slightly alarming, because he mysteriously armed himself with a bow and glass arrows for the ceremony. The picture is from later. I wish I had caught him with the weapons. It was surprising.

Marcurio is snarky, arrogant, and impatient. Much to my complete shock, he is also charming and romantic. He really sounds pleased to see Allek, happy to cook for him, and quite proud of the profits he shares. Of course when Allek gave him his gifts after the wedding, he had his usual abrupt reply. He hasn’t sold them at his “store” yet. Gods help him if he does.

So now we come to the tale of Mikke’s wedding.

First I should mention that Mikke of Green River is a werewolf. Here’s picture of her back in the Dawnguard days with her best buddy Torvar. She loves to travel with Torvar because he’s funny, he doesn’t judge, and he usually smells worse than she does. He doesn’t mind when she wolfs out and eats a bunch of bandits either, even though one time she almost accidentally ate him.

Mikke went through some changes when she travelled with the ultra-feminine vampire Serana. She spent some time thinking about what family meant to her, and what she had been willing to do without. When she met a street urchin in Windhelm, everything became clear. She set up a household in the previously abandoned Windstad Manor (I made the abandoned part up) so that she could provide a home for Sofie and Alesan (another hardworking street kid). Her friend Lydia lives there with them (steward) along with the Housecarl, bard, and carriage driver. After all, Mikke is often busy with the world-saving. She did grow her hair out and ease up on the war paint so she wouldn’t scare the kids. Here’s her new look.

So anyway one snowy afternoon Mikke and Torvar walked out of the Windhelm gates and into a dragon ambush. It took ages to kill the thing. They worked up a powerful thirst. Mikke said they could drink all night when they got to Riften.

They didn’t get far before Torvar convinced her to stop. Kynesgrove was right there, they could just run up the hill for one mead, he said. Mikke agreed.

In the Braidwood Inn, Mikke met a man named Roggi Knot-Beard. Now, I have heard a lot of dialog from Roggi, but I never heard the things he said to Mikke. Maybe it was the way she kept standing there and talking to him, but he had a lot of nice things to say to her. She was smitten.

It took several trips back to Kynesgrove, but eventually she got up the nerve to hit on him. As these things go in Skyrim he immediately agreed to marry her.

A funny thing happened when Mikke and Torvar went to Riften to arrange the wedding. While Mikke was talking to Maramal, Torvar was idling in the background. Then when she turned around to leave, Torvar was standing with his arms crossed over his chest, glaring. I have never seen that animation from a follower before!

Maramal said come back tomorrow for your wedding, ha ha don’t be late! It was about 9 bells of the morning watch. Mikke suggested that they work off the pre-wedding jitters by slaughtering the closest bandit clan. Torvar agreed.

At the top of Fort Greenwall amidst a festival of axe mayhem, Mikke had the sudden thought (Quest Failed: Attend Your Wedding Ceremony) that she had screwed up big time. She sprinted back to the Temple of Mara, dripping bandit blood the whole way. Maramal was pissed. Torvar was smug. Mikke was confused.

Back in Kynesgrove she kept the apology simple. Roggi decided to give her another chance. This time she made it on time.

Here is a picture of Mikke and Roggi at their wedding. Here is one that shows an unimpressed Sofie and Alesan, an unhappy Torvar, and some guy in the back row that I don’t recognize. Anyone know who that is?

Married life can be confusing for a werewolf. She and her sweet husband share a bedchamber with the children. She hopes that’s why Roggi won’t put out. (Her beast blood keeps her from feeling her Lover’s Comfort.) Also you can take the man out of Steamscorch Mine, but you can’t take the miner out of the man. Roggi spends his days quarrying rock near the garden. He won’t cook for her either. Also he seems to have closed his shop.

On the plus side, he stoked up (or whatever) the mead barrels. Now the old Windstad place is known as the Ghost Marsh Meadery.

Mikke is traveling with Erik the Slayer now. When she looks at Torvar, she gets the feeling that she may have made a mistake.

I remember Mikke! Her look did ease up when she laid off the dreds. Ha! Torvar sabotaged her wedding! I thought she would hook up with Torvy after that. But no, Knoty still came through. But Erik the Farmer erm, Slayer is in the henhouse now. biggrin.gif

You know, none of my Skyrim characters has ever gotten married. The nearest one to ever do it was Hrafn, but her man (Ralof) was of course unmarriable.

Loved that story, Grits! Mikke is very attractive, too, holy compassion. Gives me hope when I'm making some females in the future. I also liked the part where you describe Torvar's glare! nono.gif And when they wanted to work off their "jitters" by going on a bandit raid!

I've had 2 or 3 characters get married so far. I've haven't yet put much effort into making a huge deal about it (RP wise) but that might change with my upcoming Crusader character: Lord Haff-Mersey biggrin.gif Haff-Mersey is totally going to be the marrying type.

So Denelle is once again in the throes of a crush. Two at the same time, actually. Well, three if you count the torch she still carries for Erik the Doesn’t Think Of Denelle In That Way. She also thinks that Argis the Bulwark is quite the man, but Argis does not seem impressed with her. He says things like, “I’ll be back at YOUR house if you need me,” when she dismisses him. Also she thinks it might be creepy and exploitive to make advances on one’s Housecarl. So Argis is also forever out of reach.

Now unlike some of my cheerful sluts, Denelle has kept her legs crossed through many a thrilling adventure. She is definitely lonely, so I think it’s a case of waiting for The One rather than she’s just not that interested. Her last assignment was to get a book for the College, which she did. When she and Argis went into the dorm to crash (separately) for a while before heading back to the Reach, Denelle dropped in to see her mage friends.

To my surprise she invited Onmund to join her. (On her travels. She was not hitting on him.)

Now I, Grits, have always viewed Onmund as something of a weenie. “Oooh, I gave away my necklace because my family made me mad, and now I want it back but that mean old elf is sooo scary!” Ahem. Sorry, Denelle.

Also he made a strange remark about Neloth, which seems to be a Dragonborn bug. But I guess Denelle sees something else in him.

Of course the first thing she did the next day was give him a makeover. Do you recognize this guy?

So we’ll see. After Erik’s flat rejection it will take a lot to get her to dig that Amulet of Mara out of the drawer. So far it’s been good beween Denelle and Onmund. He’s opened up about his religion (a comment he made), saved her little butt several times with his shock spells, impressed her with his smooth use of sword and Ward, and most importantly he always stays out of her shot.
