Linda and your game look great, Renee.

Agree with SubRosa about your avatar.

Two tails indeed. tongue.gif

I like her color choices when it comes to dresses.

Yes, Veronica has a Power Fist by default I think, so maybe that's why it'd say 0/0.

Thanks for the compliment, Rosa! I love my new forum avatar. Renee Gade / Arena immortalized in all my forums posts.

Thanks mirocu and Acadian. Acadian I know you never played Vegas, but what about you, Crow?

--------------------

"Veronica we have to talk."

"Have you ever been in love? Because if we're going to do this, it's going to require some dedication from you. I've had my heart broken more than once. And trying to find out what happened to my brother Les has been tearing at me. I know he's still out there. Even you say you think you saw him. ... Err. Sorry. Maybe I shouldn't have used the "L" word. I'm all confused. Sorry. We did things differently back in our vault."

"It's okay, Linda. We'll just take this one step at a time. And I am with you. You think I feel happy about having to abandon my family in that bunker? Well I am not. But it had to be done. Maybe the situation with your brother is the same. Maybe he had to abandon you, for better or worse, even though he did not wish to."

Linda ponders Veronica's words, especially her mysterious family, well after they've arrived in Primm. Mysterious, this odd, bratty lady she's met, certainly is.

I really like the rich dialogue that New Vegas has to offer. You implemented this very nicely in a conversation between Linda and Veronica.

As Lopov said, nice little dialogue with supporting screens. Though I've not played any of the FO games, I'd like to think I get to see enough screens here to get a bit of a feel for things. smile.gif

It's Steam, so no wink.gif

Also I'm content enough with 3.

That's why I watch Alchestbreach's vids on FONV. Fun as heck and I get to see the world.

Because of the RadRona Virus 19 spreading through the Mojave, all visitors of the Lucky 38 Casino must wear hazmat cowls all the time while inside the casino. Gloves are mandatory as well, as is the 6 feet distance between all attendants. The obligatory protective equipment will be handed by Securitrons upon entering.

Dress like Red Orchid, the casino proprietor, and a chance of getting infected, is minimal.

That's some nurse!

I hear that wrapping yourself in toilet paper also makes you immune from the RadRona Virus...

Date: 11.30.81, 12:51
Location: Bolder City

Minimum Temperature: 36.0 °F
Mean Temperature: 45.7 °F
Maximum Temperature: 55.0 °F

----------

"Well here it is, Bolder City."

"Not quite as nice as my motel room back in Novac, sister."

"Whatever. It'll do. I say we continue on to 188. But it'll do."

"Which uh... bedroll do you want?"

And so Linda Hand and Veronica Santangelo turned in for bed, under cold Nevada skies. The next morning, one lady followed the other lady around Bolder City, and into its general store. There, Veronica immediately opened fire on the store's shopkeeper. Or perhaps, the store's shopkeeper opened fire on Veronica. Whatever the events, Linda now feels some confusion and concern about her new partner.

"I warned you that I am Brotherhood of Steel, Linda. Any NCR I see, are dead."

"Yeah. Guess I understand."

"Maybe we should part ways. Maybe that'd be for the best. Our goals. Our ideals, are way different."

"Are we saying this is it?"

Nice set of screenies! I especially like the last one, taken between the bottle and the lamp.

I wonder why Veronica would shoot the bartender in the Boulder City? indifferent.gif The guy's friendly enough and has always been non-hostile in my games.

Welcome to the wild night life of Boulder City!

Whoa, I don't think Veronica is supposed to kill the people at the 188. That is where you meet her at!

Awww, Linda just has to cut her loose. I do love the sky in that last picture.

Boulder City has certainly seen better days.

Well, opening fire on a shopkeeper is one way to get a bargain, but probably something more subtle in a shopping partner will better suit Linda. tongue.gif

Did Linda and Veronica by chance kill the NCR soldier at the memorial outside of the Boulder City Saloon? I read that if he gets killed by the player, then Ike in the saloon will turn hostile. I remember that the soldier can be provoked into attacking if one insults him.

Thanks you all. Dammit I misspelled Boulder! laugh.gif Oh well.

The merchant she shot was in Boulder City, Rosa, not 188. She reacts fine at 188, which is where most of those soap opera-ish pictures were taken. wub.gif

Lopov it is possible that in the past Linda might have gotten in some kind of scuffle. I noticed the sentry who stands outside of BC was no longer there. What's more likely is Veronica is the one who's caused some sort of Faction shift. This is not the first time she's misbehaved. nono.gif But I haven't really been taking notes. All the politics in this game confuse me!

Acadian: is there a real Boulder City? I know that in Fallout 3, most of the locations in the game have corresponding real locations, like Farragut Metro Station and Jefferson Memorial.

That final pic was by total mistake. smile.gif I really like the way it turned out, but I didn't plan everything to be symmetrical like that.

Yup, Boulder City is a small town to the southeast of Las Vegas. Less than an hour from downtown Las Vegas (the Strip). smile.gif

Here's something brand new to bring to this thread: Fallout 1. I assume this is the first time someone has posted screenshots of pre-Bethesda Fallout games. Unfortunately, it took me toward the end of the game to find how to take screenshots (and it was right in front of my face every time I clicked on the game in the Steam client to play it). Thus, there isn't a whole lot of variety to these screenshots. But I figured some people might be interested in them.

In a bunker out in the middle of nowhere is where the Brotherhood of Steel resides, out in Lost Hills. The small area above the surface masks the vast complex that lies beneath the ground. There are four levels to the place, and here are a few screenshots.

Brotherhood of Steel - Level 2 ----- This particular room is where some Brotherhood Knights are training. Well, they actually just stand there the whole time, but, you know...

Brotherhood of Steel - Level 4 ----- The man in the bluish/purple robes there is John Maxson. That last name should sound familiar to probably all of you from Fallout 3 and 4 (can't remember if there is one in New Vegas). This Maxson is the grandson of Roger Maxson, founder of the Brotherhood of Steel.

Brotherhood of Steel - Level 4 (Meeting with the Elders) ----- You can request armed assistance in your assault against the Mariposa Military Base, which is where super mutants are being created in vats of goo and FEV.

These next few screenshots are from the very final level in the game (technically, it can instead be the second-to-last level).

The Depths Below the Cathedral ----- Yes, that is human flesh lying everywhere.

These Super Mutants Met the Gatling Laser ----- Such catharsis to unload on them like that.

The Hallway to the Big Bad ----- Oh, you didn't ask for more human flesh oozing out of the walls? Too bad. This is the Big Bad

Face-to-Face with the Master ----- The guy in the middle at the end of the human-flesh hallway is The Master, the main antagonist and the one responsible for creating super mutants in New California. Once you kill him, you have 300 seconds (5 minutes) to get out of the base and the Cathedral up top before it gets blown to kingdom come.

Unfortunately, however, the Vault Dweller will be cast out of Vault 13, their home, forever despite being recognized as a hero throughout the wasteland. Why is this the case? Well...

I can provide more context on all of this for people who want to know more. I just wanted to get these screenshots up and show them off. Here are a couple pictures from the very end of the game.

The Hero Cast Out

What Else Lies in Store for the Vault Dweller?

Very neat to see some pics of Fallout 1! We don't normally see them. I never got far enough to meet the BOS. I think I got as far as Shady Sands. I remember rescuing someone from there from a raider gang that had kidnapped them. Then I recall exploring an abandoned vault somewhere nearby. That is as far as I ever went.

The whole hero is cast out at the end is a common trope in the Fallout games. I think Fallout 4 and Fallout Tactics are the only ones that do not do it.
