My favorite would have to be Dunmer. they kick total boat!
ya, i no i forgot sum races, but i cnat remember wat theyre called..
edit (minque) added your second post to this one!
Its Bretons, a cross-breeding of Humans and elves (High Elves I think.) that are more on the Human side (Bosmer are a cross-breed on the elven side.), that you forgot about.
I would have to say that Imperials are my favorite race, with a close second of Bosmer.
P.S. Next time just use the EDIT butten just below your post, or else the admins get mad...
bosmer. They are totally annoying but they are good (enough) for theiving.
Nords rock out loud!!!
redgaurds and bosmers all the way!
There's only one worthy race, lets be honest here.
And a particularly fine specimen,if I do say so myself, looks a little like this

Now now, this isn't the screen shot thread we have a special thread designated for that, http://www.waiting4oblivion.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=1058. A few more and I will be forced to lock this thread...... uh wait I can't nevermind
Dunmer > all
I feel a strong connection with the Bretons; I have allot in common with them in the way of personality and preferences.
Yet they're such a Magic intensive Race, and I’ve always been a kind of a thieving wretch. A saint with sticky fingers you might say, none of that implying magic....tragically enough.
But the one race I have the most preference for is the o’ so tragic Argonians. No particular reason, I just think they look cool.
(shallow, shallow, shallow)
With the Khajiit right behind.
From a lore-perspective, my favourite is the Bosmer, but from a gameplay-perspective, it's deinfately Dunmer.
Bosmer all the way!!
Though for myself I had to tweak the hight, I like both sexes to be short... could never understand why the females where taller then the males.
Dunmer for me...they just seem like the race that only take what they need and the fact that they look like awesome warriors.
The ruling race of Tamriel for me .
The Imperials.
I got to go with the Khajiit. Forget their looks, I like the general persona they carry, the humble, wise, almost spiritual identidy.
Gameplay wise, I like the dunmer.
I don't think I've ever played another race besides Imperial.. soooo...
Imperial 4 teh w1n!11
What gamer said.
I like wood elves generally and them being archers are great. However I don't like the short and jolly side of it so being a fan of magic I'd go with altmer. And Khajiit rock. I have no idea what I voted though.
Dunmer.
Ever since I read the drizzt books about 3 years ago, I've had some strange fascination with dark elves.
Breton. I have an unsatiable fascination with magic, so I've played more Bretons than any other race. Somebody will probably say I should be playing Altmer mages, but all those weaknesses make them quite undesirable (at least to me).
My First Choice is always the Nords, followed by the redguards.
Redguard, because of the endurance bonus, it let me have more health per lvl.
the first three lvls I set 5 points in endurance, so i have max after three lvlups.
I'm the only person who voted orc. hip-hip hooray!
Lore and gameplay wise I like the Redguards even though the Adrenaline Rush makes them too damn powerful. Nords come on a close second though.
okay i go for redguars the most naturally talented warriors in the game. Actually i only pick them for their adrenaline rush. How can i make them too strong. That's like saying someones too damn sexy. You can never have too much of a good thing. Khajits and Bosmers are tied for second. I like Bosmers for their supreme theiving and asassin skills. And i like Khajits for thier night eye, and eye of fear power. I hate going into dwemer runis and not being able to see. Plus with eye of fear i can resist arrest after i steal something and just cast that on the guard, and he runs like a baby-back bi!@#.
Bretons rock bigtime because of the magic!! I just hope that in Oblivion they wont sound so wimpy when you get hit. Everytime my Breton character got hit he sounded like the Census officer at the beginning of Morrowind sitting on a spiked gauntlet. Pathetic really
that was sort of the point i was also making
I dislike Adrenaline rush, it can kill you if your not careful.
I prefer the Dunmer's ability, Ancestor Guardian. 50 pts. of Sanctuary. Makes you damn hard to hit. MEaning you can fully focus on ripping into the enemy. No loosing time (and thus letting the ability dwindle and run out) being smacked around.
Dunmer _0_!
Go Breton!!! The extra magicka is so worth it. Plus u get all kinds of magic bonuses!!! (can't get enough stealth even when i have 90% camo)
I always play Dunmer for the MQs, then I make a Khajiit thief and a Breton mage. I just think they look the coolest, and nords might be better warriors, (my favourite style), but when you get to level eight or so, it doesn't really matter.
You guy's dont know true power until you play as a Nord!... but I must admit that the only ones who rival the awesome power of the Nords are the Bretons... followed by the Dunmer....
Bretons for my mage characters and Khajiit for any thief characters. Although I prefer being a mage overall... I have a fascination with launching massively overpowered fireballs and watching all my enemies burn up. I don't really play melee characters... or if I do then I back them up with some powerful magicka just in case. And the Breton shield ability can be useful for boosting armour.
Rainer is soon to be known to waste space...
The Kajhit would have to be my all time favorite type of character. They can be very sneaky as well as acrobatic. ^^
Khajit has no words for you.
in order, my top 3 are:
NORD
DUNMER
REDGUARD
least favorites:
KAJIIT
BOSMER
Rainer notices that When ever there is a race poll, Dumer always win.
does that say something about Morrowind popularising the Dark Elf?
Yes, especially since Dunmer are pretty much the most balanced race. I.E. They can be anything... unfair, maybe. But thier not really the best in anything either.
I prefer Bretons, becuase they have the appearance and demeanor of Imperials with a fraction of the High Elven mana-boost. If you plan on using no magic, Imperials are just as good. I generally dislike the elven races (including orcs), and I'm not particularly fond of Argonians either, despite their natural benefits. For a pure warrior I have to vote the Redguards.
BEST LIST
(1) Breton
(2) Imperial
(3) Redguard
WORST LIST
(1) Orc
(2) Bosmer
(3) Altmer
Altmer would be number two on the 'Wost List' but they contributed to the creation of Bretons.
It was an Elf craze... dang elf crazes...
Bretons are pretty much the best if you're a mage though... a Magicka bonus, no weaknessess and you get Dragon Skin. Not to mention the extra skill points in nearly all magic types...
gahhhh why must i be tormented w/ such questions!!!!!!!!!!! well i want to say nords..... but i also like dunmers.....Why can we pick them both.......
Let's see.
1: Breton (Actually cool looking and good mages with average combat performance. The Dragon Skin can help a lot.)
2: Redguard. (Hands down, the gods of the battlefield. Unmatched in pure combat with only Orcs and Nords coming close. Average Magicka capability. Resistance to diseases and poison. Adrenaline Rush. Need I say more? Unfortunately, they look ugly in my opinion. My Redguard never went out without a good helmet.)
3: Khajitt. (Umm, I like cats. The fur is nice in case of cold weather. Quick, agile and punching masters. Downsides, no boots and no good helmets.)
4: Argonian. (Cool looking lizards, yeah! Decent resistances and a spear bonus. Downsides, 60 seconds waterbreathing each day is a lousy power and easily beaten by level 1 characters with a spell! Also, no boots and helmets like the Khajitt.)
HAHA!!! I knew the Dunmer would prevail!!! Even tho the ashlanders are extremely annoying...they practicaly put themselves on your short sword or long sword or spear or axe or blunt weapon or fist...
I would go with Dunmer... my first *good* character was a dunmer (custom) battlemage.
Bretons are also good though. I made a nice Mage/Theif hybrid. I The magic resistance means you can take a magic enhancing sign (I forget the one...) and get the extra spell points, while having the weakness to magic that the sign gives you cancelled out. At least I hope thats how it worked.
The elf in my name represents wood elf. ELVAN TRUTH!!!!!!!!
I like Imperials and Dunmer overall for their versatility, but right now I'm RPing as a Nordic Bard named Roggar, who is quite fun.
i say dunmer or imperial im not quite sure....
all the races kick boat but i favor dunmer and the imperials
No race is fun to play in Morrowind except Khajiits.
I will say this, mostly as a Morrowind player. The height problems that I experienced with Wood Elves, not to mention their nearly unanimous 'twerpy' personalities (the ONLY Bosmer I could tolerate was named Aengoth the Jeweler) makes them, hands down, my least favorite race.
Bosmer are Tamriel's version of short-guys with attitude problems. I personally believe that the Morrowind design team, in addition to being Duke fans, based the Wood Elves off of Curley in Steinbeck's "Of Mice and Men." There is no other explanation for their annoyance, as well as height impediments.
Almost as bad are the Altmer, who can get wasted with the effort of a God's Fire spell. I once used Trueflame to hunt down every High Elf I could kill that was still alive. None lasted more than a few hits.
As far as the rest, I found that Bretons made for great mage-hunters (especially since my limited experience in Oblivion showed just how imbalanced the stealth and magic aspects were), and Nords and Redguards were good on the warrior front, especially with their resistances. Imperials, Dark Elves, and Argonians were the 'balanced races,' though to be fair Dark Elves did get cooler bonuses and the more useful (for Morrowind, anyways) flame resistace.
But, all in all, I always ended up going Nord or Dark Elf.
You N'wahs who dare not vote for the Dunmer? Why you S'wits!? I ought to do something really horrible to you, Fetcher!
The Children of the Hist are still my favorite race, followed by Khajiits, Dunmer, and Bosmer.
My favorites are Nord and Dunmer. Good, solid, reliable races
I also like Khajiit but wouldnīt want to play as one.
I know it has been a loooong time since this thread was started but my favorites haven't changed much. Dunmer are still my favorites. Inperials are a close runner up though, being the race that united Tamriel and civilized it.
