The story...

Several years have passed since the events of what has become known as "A Mystery Unleashed" and things have changed on the island of Vvardenfell. Things looked good with the restablishment of "New Vivec" but the death of the god Vivec the last former god of the Tribunal heralded the destruction of the Tribunal Temple and any remaining priests have disbanded and spread across Vvardenfell, renouncing their faith. Even the people have forgotten of the Tribunal and are faithless and without direction. But this is not the worst of problems.

With the death of the Emperor in Cyrodiil large problems have begun to spring up in the Imperial Capitol, nobles and dignitaries now bicker and fight over the throne and who has the right to rule. The Empire has lost significant power and control and the Septim has lost its value in many provinces, one of which being Morrowind.
Beliving Morrowind to be hard enough to control on its own, the Legion has formed a blockade about Vvardenfell and is denying access to the mainland, even to the other Legionarres upon the island, they have even gone as far as to use the Mage's Guild to magically block any forms of teleportation and levitation over their blockade.

With the Legion on the Island being without funding from the mainland they have begun to taxe the inhabitants of Vvardenfell heavily, but not in coin but in food and items. Public opinion of the Legion already being low the people had enough. This and the change of the House Leaders has created the perfect setting for rebellion. The people hateful of the Legion and looking for someone to trust place their faith on the houses giving them tremandous power and numbers. The Houses struck out against the Imperial Guilds (Thieves,Fighters,Mages) and the Legion, destroying their forts utterly and scattering them across Vvardenfeel, in individual hiding places or small camps.

Now with the Houses in control and more powerful than ever (save the ancient days) with no competition besides the other Houses, rumours of war are being heard.

(Don't post after this I have to put in the info on the Factions)

House Hlaalu: House Hlaalu is a changed house. With the spetim being worthless and their Imperial allies being weak, they have never been in worse shape. They have a new Grandmaster by the name Isaarin Sithiln, a young Dunmer public speaker. When the Legion began to tax the people heavily Isaarin had enough. He rose up and begged the people "To rise up and free themselves of the shackles of Imperial control". The people already pushed to the edge by heavy taxes and their wealth being worthless they rose up rioted. The threw Duke Vedam Dren from office and after a vote by the council, elected Isaarin as Grandmaster. Isaarin put together an army and marched against every fort on Hlaalu lands. The forts were destroyed and the Leginonarres retreated leaving Hlaalu the dominent power of the West Coast.

House Redoran:With the Imperials gone and the Tribunal collapsed House Redoran feels the world is too chaotic and faithless, they wish to fill the spot of their former "rulers" and rule with their own brand of Redoran law, based off of their teachings of the house. The former Grandmaster was a corrupt man whom was holding Redoran back from glory. He was publicly challenged by a ambitious young noble, Ravvin Nereholm, and slain. Ravvin was voted into the office of Grandmaster. Ravvin Nereholm is a very militant man and is revered as a great warrior and a tactical genius but he can quite close minded and merciless towards those he views as enemies. The first act in office by Ravvin was founding a large army, and by the blessings of his people, announced his attack to the Imperial forts in his lands, and on the designated day, destroyed any Legionares who hadn't fled or surrendered, leaving the Redorans as masters of the middle lands.

House Telvanni: Imperial control was dying down and Hlaalu had already begun to riot, yet house Telvanni stood still. This was infuriating to the peoples of Telvaani owned lands and some of the younger councilors. Then a young Telvanni mage by the name Melkaan Uvirith, great grandson of the shamed telvanni mage who had died upon the spot that has come to be known Uvirith's Grave, started a viscous coup, killing any councillors unloyal to him and then slew the former Archmagister. With that he established and army and smashed every Imperial fort in his region, leaving few survivors. With that House Telvanni was the undisputed rulers of the East Coast lands.

The Imperial Legion: With their forts destroyed and their men scattered the Legion has never been so weak. Any attempts to reunite the scattered soldiers has met failure. There seems to be 3 major camps across the Vvardenfell landscape.

Morag Tong: After their leader narrowly escaped death during the destruction of Vivec the Morag Tong has never been so powerful. With their new headquarters in New Vivec safely established, they have been in large buisness as the Houses have continued to bicker and hire the Morag Tong out.

Ashlanders: The ashlanders are existing as they have before the death of Dagoth Ur. But with this talk of war the Ashlanders do not feel safe in their ancestral lands and are increasingly harrassed House Soldiers.

Ordinators: The Ordinators no longer as powerful as they once were now only have dominion in the city of New Vivec, protecting the citizens and quelling the violence between the House Cantons and investigating any things they think pose a threat to New Vivec.

Git postin' y'all!

Dane sat in the Eight Plates, drinking his mug of sujamma and thinking deeply.

His flagon was getting empty and he wondered just how much money he had to order another glass.

He reached inside his pocket and felt around. He made out the imprints on the coins in his pockets, 12 Hlaalens, 16 Rhuns, 2 Telvanics, and 4 septims.

Little good those septims will do me

He thought to himself as he pulled his hand from his pocket and looked into his empty mug.

"One Sujamma" he croaked as he slapped down two Hlaalens on the surface of the counter.

The hostess walked over picked up the coins and pored him another mug of sujamma.

Dane just grabbed the handle of the mug and continued to drink.

Endris walked into the Eight Plates, ordered two loaves of bread and a flin, and sat down at the table next to Dane. He kept quiet and thought to himself while waiting for his order. Let's see now... Ald'Ruhn is North of here and that is the place where my target is said to be. Endris Yawned, Getting late though, I'll sleep here and get started walking tomarrow.

"TELVANNI!" Screamed a woman as she came dashing from the Hill-side. En'fel jumped awake and scrambled out of bed. They knew the attack would come. They all knew it would come. Sonnabu Zabbamat predicted the attack months ago. Bandits were moving in more freely these days, looting their herd, raiding their campsites along the Grazelands, poaching their animals, sometimes even kidnapping their women. The Telvanni were getting worse as well. They set up camps all along the borders of the Grazelands, and if it were not for Kaushad's wife and her sharpness (which En'Fel wonders how she managed to gain) they would have pushed further. In the last months, they were sadly under a strict, uncomfortable treaty.

All was not well though, military units moved in constantly, shipments of weapons and armors came more than shipments of food. They were planning an attack, Sonnabu didn't need to predict a thing.

Once he had his battle-clothes on and his sword, En'Fel jumped out of his yurt There was already a battle before him. His people made a pitiful defense while the Telvanni surrounded them and cut them off from escape. The Zainab fought with spirit and ferocity that all the man-power in the world could not match, En'Fel knew this, he was taught this as a child, but he wasn't seeing it.

He dashed through the Telvanni lines by himself, and ducked hastily under a swipe of an axe, then reached his open hand back and clasped the helmet of a soldier. He concentrated for a moment, and then felt the crisp chill coming from the end of his palm. The soldier fell forward in shock as En'Fell landed, successfully breaking their first line. Soldiers closed in around him, and he grinned. He was far too cunning to be defeated by a mountain of over-encumbered Telvanni, or so he liked to think.

"En'Fel, my Son! Rescue my Son!" cried Kaushad, who realized he broke the line closest to where Kaushad's son, the half-ashlander, was being dragged away by Telvanni. When En'Fel looked, he saw something different. Sonnabu, their wise woman, was being dragged away from another location. En'Fel hesitated between this decision, but once the first swipe of a sword came his way, he knew what had to be done. He summersaulted backwards between two Telvanni and turned toward Sonnabu. Before he knew what he was doing, or what decision he had made, his sword was already half-way through its motion against the Telvanni's helm...

CRACK!

En'Fel awoke. He calmed himself down, staring at the camp-fire before him, trying to push this memory to the back of his mind. One of his companions, Anhasou, was also awoken by the loud crack of the fire. He stared at En'Fel anxiously, his hand tightly gripping his bone-sword.

"Go back to sleep Anhasou, it was nothing."

"You were dreaming about the night they attacked, weren't you?"

Perhaps Anhasou was awoken up by something else.

"How long has it been?" En'Fel asked his companion.

"One month and a half."

"Too long," snorted Ganfi, he stood (or rather sat) watch that hour. "Far too long."

"I agree, En'Fel." Noted Anhasou, "We have not found any Ashlanders yet and we searched every inch of this area. Every tomb, every cave, nothing has gotten by you, and we've looked through it all."

"Perhaps we should head West to the Urshilaku Camp," suggested Ganfi.

"Perhaps the Ahemussa are in hiding just as we are, and we must only seek them out," En'Fel retorted rudely.

"Perhaps they've all simply been wiped out," commented Hil'Tec, whom they thought was sleeping.

En'Fel gave him a nasty look, which Hil'Tec, with his eyes closed, didn't see. "Well, we'll consider it in the morning, in the mean time I'm not done here, good-night."

"Your watch is in just a few moments En'Fel," said Ganfi.

"Fine, I'll take up watch early then."

"Oh good, now I can get some sleep," remarked Anhasou.

Dane looked up from his mug at this stranger sitting at his table. The stranger looked somewhat blurry and he wondered if he was becoming inebriated (sp?)

"That's enough Sujamma I suppose..." he said to himself quietly as he got up from the table. He looked at the stranger at his table again for a few seconds before turning around and tromping off towards the door, intending to go sleep in the wilderness to preserve money, besides sleeping in a nice comfortable bed would make the next time he had to sleep on the dirt unbearable.

wait I can post now.... I isn't effecting anyones. (this in in balmora, the new fortish town)

ic: Otik, though now know as Strauros, walked into his den/bar.

"Good day Serjo* Strauros" said the bartender, washing a glass behind the bar.

Strauros walked over to the bar and sat on the stool. "Hey Delfran, and quit it with the serjo stuff, you know I don't like that title unless there is someone else in the room."

Delfran grinned, "I know, but I love it how you react to it. The usual? Chilled flin?" he said getting to buisness.

"sure why not, and just give me the bottle. I hate having glasses in my study."

Stauros got his flin and went into his study and magically locked the door, not that he didn't trust Delfran, his only friend in his time of solitude, but to keep other members of the house that wanted his audiance out. He colapsed into his chair and looked around the room, and finally started working on the papers on his desk.

(Earlier that day)

Isaarin sat gazing upon the fair city of New Vivec from the edge of the third layer of the Hlaalu Canton.

"Sir" came a gruff voice from behind him

"Yes?" he answered plainly flashing a charismatic smile

It was one of his bodyguards, wearing heavy bonemold armor but no helmet with a long scar running from the top of his nose to his cheek, he didn't recognise this particular guard, but who really does?

"Sir it's time for your speech in the canton" He answered mechanicly

"Is it really?, fine." Isaarin said with a small sigh and he followed the guard inside the large canton doors and into a large crowd. His bodyguards pushed people back and made space for their Grandmaster as he stepped up upon his makeshift podium.

"People of New Vivec, Hlaalu canton" he addressed the crowd "Now is a time for action! Now is a time for change!" he said forcefully with a smile on his face "We have already rid ourselves of the shackles of Imperial confinement!, BUT THAT IS IS ONLY THE BEGGINING!!" he yelled "For far too long the Imperials had taxed us and controlled us" he said with an emphasis on the word "control" "And now WE are in control!, now WE have the power!, and now we will destroy them" he said his smile growing larger as the people shouted in approval "It's true we have done very well... but they will only cause trouble for us in the future. As of now they sit in their little caves, plotting and scheming TO OPPRESS YOU!, TO CONTROL YOU!!, AND TO OWN YOU!!!" he said as the people yelled curses and insults about the Imperial scum. "So I implore you!" he yelled dramiticly "If any of you have any information on the whereabouts of any Legionarres or Soldier Camps, please inform any Hlaalu official." he said with a serious look upon his face "The fate of Vvardenfell may hinge on it." he added grimly for added affect

With that the crowd gave a loud roar of approval as Isaarin Santhil turned around and marched off the podium and into a circle of his bodyguards and out of the canton.

Akar walked the halls of New Vivec, examining the statues of the heroes. They supposedly set out to kill a god-like mage who threatened the entire island of Vvardenfell. He looked up at the most famous figure; the redguard by the name of Jonacin, the slayer of the mage, Arcyakt. Embracing him was the likeness of a familiar-looking woman. He read the large plaque set in the middle:

Jonacin, killer of Arcyakt.

Beside that, under the woman another plaque read:

Serene, healer, advisor, wife to Jonacin.

"Serene?" he asked himself aloud. He highly doubted that his mother could be a famous hero, but he didn't totally dismiss it; how common was the name Serene?

He looked up at a beautiful young altmer woman, and continued on to see the current ruler of Vivec, Megil, and he raised an eyebrow as he saw an empty pedestal just like the other statues were on, but this one had no statue atop it.

Curious, he read:

Selenil.

"That's it?" Akar asked. How vague; no image, no description, no surname! Merely a first name. This man didn't want to be recognized, apparently.

He left the plaza where the statues adorned the halls, and found the nearest tavern.

He looked in his pocket; four hundred rhuns, that was it. I guess that's what one gets for staying with the Redorans for too long.

Akar longed to go back to Cyrodiil and work at the forge again. This island was seeming smaller and smaller by the minute, and despite the current lead he had on his mother's identity, it was still quite boring.

"A mudcrab stew please." Akar asked, knowing the correct thing to say.

"Sure." the pretty young waitress replied with a smile. She lead Akar to the back room where she handed him three vials. "We offer other services too..." she purred.

"No, thank you." he said, stuffing the skooma in his pack, giving the waitress all of his money, and heading out the door. Food could always be found; skooma could not. That was how he justified spending all his money on skooma.

He walked out of the city of Vivec, which seemed to be the most neutral place on this war-ridden island, and continued his mission; to aimlessly wander.

OOC: long, I know. sorry.

akar is alone, no conflicts should arise.

Endris washed down the rest of his Flin and finished his bread.

"Anything else?" the waitress asked politely.

Endris thought for a moment, looked up at the ceiling and blinked a few times, "Is this Balmora?'

"Yes sir," she replied.

Endris dug around in the pockets of his coat and pulled out a handful of Hlaalens(?) and placed them on the table and said, "Give me a room also." The waitress gave him a key for the room for the night and Endris stepped outside and walked around the town aimlessly.

Dane walked out of the Tavern and into the rain. He looked up and blinked a couple times.

Damnit... rain, I can't sleep in this...

He looked around the small plaza for somewhere dry to sleep. At last he spotted a small guarskin tarp over top of a few large pots, vases and boxes.

That'll do...

Dane had never been one for vagrancy but this rain just called for it. He stepped under the tarp arranged around the pots and boxes to conceal view from the street and lay down on the ground falling asleep quickly due to his drunkness.

A hand tapped Dane's shoulder.

"My friend, what place is this to sleep?" The hooded man knelt down and threw a bag of gems by the sleeping drunks face.

"A little gift from the divines." He said as he stood up and walked away.

(OOC: Changed from septims to gems.)

Dane looked up at the stranger suprised and at being awoken by the bag by his face.

Suddenly he felt his face grow hot with anger instantly sobering him up

He stood up quickly from his resting place.

"How dare you insult me so!" he yelled angrily at the stranger who appeared to be walking away

"Damn you and Damn the divines!!" he bellowed angrily

Akar had travelled northeast for about a day, contentedly smoking his skooma pipe and sometimes taking a break from it to chew some Hackle-lo.

He went through the ashlands for awhile ( which seemed much more exciting when under the influence of skooma) before ending up in the grazelands.

He found a small cave and walked inside. He drew his sword from his back and peered inside; hopefully it would be empty. Luckily, it was. Akar took the opportunity to go to sleep and clear his head of the skooma.

(OOC: not quite sure where En'fel is, but I took a wild guess and said the grazelands.)

EDIT: D'oh! I misspelled "opportunity" and it was annoying me.

He drew his sword and sized up his opponent

He appeared to be wearing a red hood over his face but by the way his body was built his was obviously a human, possibly an imperial.
He trudged over the vases and pots knocking them over and breaking them.

Endris heard some shouting and vases shattering so he went to investigate. He saw to men--one of them he recognized from the bar had his sword drawn, the other llooked very suspicious. Endris walked closer; he enjoyed watching fights. Even more so getting involved in them.

(long post)

En'Fel grabbed Sonnabu and hoisted her atop his shoulders. There were three dead Telvanni around him. Two of them had tiny icicles pointing out eratically from their armor, leaving their cause of deaths just a little questionable. The last was clear as day, as his head was somewhere off to the side of his body. En'Fel looked regretfully where he last saw the Half-Ashlander, Kaushad's son, but could find him no where. The camp was already lit aflame, and most of the Telvanni ignored him and focused on the now retreating tribe. En'Fel caught just a tiny glimpse of Kaushad before he took off, and the mer did not look happy that he chose to save the Wisewoman over his son.

En'Fel's mind kept jogging through this again and again until it all molded together. He tried his best to ignore Pidou's poking, but eventually lost it and turned irritably at the short dunmer (who only stood 5'11), "What?"

Then he saw it, all of the companions also stared off. There was a small band of Telvanni the area. They were obviously on their way south to report that Ahemussa Camp had been abandoned. The road was completely opened, and it was broad daylight. They would surely be spotted, there was no running. "Act natural," commanded En'Fel, and he kept walking, leading his troupe, who followed anxiously.

"Ashlanders?" queried one of the Telvanni scouts.

Their leader quinted his eyes at the Ashlander party moving toward them. He snickered, "From the hiding spot of Ahemussa I'll bet. Seven of them, one for each of us. Alright, you know the drill, suround them and take their leader to his knees, hold the others hostage and question him. With each answer he refuses, kill one."

En'Fel relaxed his face, looking passive. Hel'Tic tightened his grip on his bone-axe; Anhasou corrected his posture and formed an bit of an arrogant strut; Ganfi frowned with pursed lips, his throwing stars hidden on his backside, but his hands just twitching to use them; Pidou looked anxious, but Pidiou always looks anxious; Altass tightened his jaw, trying to look polite, and nonchalant, failing at it; finally, in tow of the six of them, came Sounigo, with her arms on her waist and her face as pale as a her bonesword.

The Telvanni marched around them. Their leader walked toward them boisterously, "Alright you scum get one your knees and hand over your weapons."

"We have no business with you," En'Fel shot back quickly, as if rehearsed.

"On your knees bucket-brains, and hand over your weapons!" demanded their leader. En'Fel stopped, his face remained emotionless. The Scout-leader stood right before him, the rest of the Telvanni had set themselves up around the seven Ashlanders. En'Fel considered it, then removed his sword from his sheath, twirled it expertly to its back and offered it handle first to the scout-leader.

The scout-leader took it, looked at it for a moment, then suddenly let his fist loose, catching En'Fel in the stomach. He fell to his knees, gasping for breath. The scout leader began pacing around him.

"So, tell me, where are the rest of your scum hiding?"

"I am not from here," En'Fel gasped. "Zaineb"

Hel'Tic just about pounced, but En'Fel already had his hand up in Hel'Tic's direction, cautioning him.

"Zaineb? Look for gold and find a diamond," the scout-leader joked. "Alright, order your men to do the same."

"Do it," En'Fel commanded without hesitation.

"On my mother's grave I will!" yelled Hel'Tic

"Do it!" En'Fel commanded again. Hel'Tic's face was as red as a dark-elf could get. He sneered and dropped his axe, and fell to his knees. The rest followed.

"Alright, straight to business, your men might just survive long enough to get chained up and work in our fields, and the girl... well... she might live long enough to--"

"Don't even say it," whispered En'Fel.

"What?!" screamed the scout-leader as he slammed his armored fist to back of En'Fel's skull. En'Fel dropped to the ground.

"You have our land, why must you kill our people?" he asked pitifully.

"Why? Heh heh, because your ugly."

"Very well," En'Fel shot a look at the scout-leader, then jumped forward this his right hand going for the dunmer's face. The Telvanni's entire body frosted over, and the body dropped lifelessly before En'Fel touched the ground.
