Scored a somewhat rare LP with Iron Maiden today at a fair. It has four songs and is from their famous tour in the Far East titled "Maiden Japan". Really glad I got my hands on this album! It's with the original members so no Bruce Dickinson or Nicko McBrain but the songs are still good biggrin.gif

To celebrate:

Be Quick or Be Dead

Noticed Valentina Lisitsa's interpretation of the final (third) movement of Beethoven's "Moonlight" Sonata amongst yesterdays YouTube recommendations. I've heard it before....many times. But not in years. Liked it then. Like it now. Very fast. Very very fast. It doesn't need to be this fast to be effective. Yet it's a piece that CAN be played at this tempo to no harm, if done well, as is the case here. It's received over 42 million views! Unheard of for a classical selection, so far as I know. I suspect few 'pop' recordings get so many views, but might be wrong as I don't listen to them. In any case, here it be:

Valentina Lisitsa: Beethoven "Moonlight" Sonata, movement 3 (Presto Agitato)

You're on my mind like a song that I can't escape
I don't know how many DA-DA-DUMS I can take

I need to know if you're feelin' the same
Is it too late?

And now it's hard to breathe

The lyrics of that song are awesome, but not a fan of the song/dance she used for them - they didn't seem connected to the words.

I think that chick on piano dropped a ton of meth before playing that song...

Bitter Sweet Alley - Time To Move - As the comments say, this song dominated the airwaves here in Detroit in the early 80s. I grew up listening to it. They were a local band who almost made it big, but never quite got there.

No thanks, I'm good.

Listened to a few other songs with the same group but didn't find one that hooked me until this one.

Dreamcatcher - You and I

Actually, that does sound a bit over-devoted so maybe Bob's my uncle after all wink.gif

I am totally in love with this band's videos! And so far = really like their songs. They look so fun; but both so far have been a bit dark and creepy when you watch the vid, lol.

Their videos have that mysticism feel to it that I really like, and these two videos also have an awesome rocking tune. Two others I listened to had the same feel in the videos, but the music didn't catch me.

Scuse me while I go listen to my new fave again biggrin.gif

Agreed on this one. The last one sounded a bit too ... bubble-gummy.

The final few minutes of Stravinsky's The Firebird, heard and seen in a smashing live performance. The conductor milks the closing some bars for all they're worth.

OhMyGirl won their first award not long ago, and they did it with this very song! I am incredibly biased, yes, but it's about time they won. They have held a consistently high level of quality ever since I discovered them a few years back and they have yet to disappoint. To put it simply; they're in a league of their own.

Was a little hesitant about this one but it has grown on me a bit. Sort of reminds me of Dreamcatcher.
