Those funny diamonds have to do with incorrect character encoding. Not your fault, simply the standard changed over the years. If you are using Firefox, you can repair such issues quite easily. Press Alt to bring up the menu if you haven't got it displayed, then select View -> Repair Text Encoding. Done! There is even a button for the toolbar if you find you need to do it often.

How cool is that!? Extremely so, given that I can now indulge my OCD without having a complete mental meltdown. Thank you!
